You guys are scaring me. I just finished “Going Rouge” and the background brought forth on her and her supporters up there in Alaska could very easily find its way down here. Look at the enthusiasm the crowds displayed lining up for a book. She is scary but it is possible that if the economy continues to tank and more bodies are sent home from Afghanistan with this increase coming next week, the nation may be just in the mood to take a second look at this idiot and decide that the pundits have it all wrong.
She may be an empty headed, self involved, not very truthful “twit” but there seems to be a group out there convinced that she or Beck are the answers. She only needs to gain 51% to be sworn in.

I’m glad Trooper Wooten is finally going public about Scarah the Snake.
Here is my problem: few people read. They are content with soundbites and slogans and this nitwit has taken advantage of their indifference. To them she looks good, sells a great “narrative”, and appeals to their basic instincts. Same thing we saw with Bush as a matter of fact and those 8 years of criminal activity brought to us by that criminal enterprise seems to be fading fast. The dumber she sounds the more they fall in love with her!
I check out other blogs and some of those “feminist sites” are throwing her support as we speak. They may be misinformed about where this “Lazy Bones” is coming from when it comes to issues, but they are paying attention to her publicity. If Obama does not get off the stick and start to at least connect with the population as she seems to, we may be looking at a tight race in 2012.
They are not in the least put off by her constant referrals to “god”, her inarticulation, her rambling offerings, her distance from feminist issues, her resignation. They like her!!! They think she “speaks” for us and has been harmed by the press no matter how many times it is pointed out that is her policies that are the issue. They do not care!
I would urge anyone out there to pick up a copy of “The Family” to at least get familiar with where this gang of religious fanatics is heading. Palin is their trump card in this respect.
This is one reason why I do not dismiss her. She may be nuts, her supporters may be bigots, but she could take hold and the there won’t be a ceiling high enough to resist my head exploding if she does!
PJ: She may have resources and money, but l’m willing to wait until this all plays out. Her flaws are too many and too egregious for all to follow her anywhere And I really think she really wants money and fame…Jon and Kate plus political power…OMG
But we do have Bush as the exemplar of our downfall. It’s very frighening, but I’m willing to wait and see. Headlines of celebrity are not necessarily those of history, and she seems to seek celebrity alone. I don’t think that she know the difference.

@57PJ- Remember how sad President Obama was when he took office? He knew he would be cut-off from the public, even his friends? He had to beg to keep his Blackberry. He won, with stipulations. He and First Lady Michelle have many White House events in order to keep engaged with the public. “He” communicates via whitehouse.gov and barackobama.com… President Obama wasn’t too happy realizing he would more or less be a prisoner of the WH. I think President Obama communicates with us sublimally, by showing strength and purpose. WE need to get the media to call attention on the important bills that he has signed in the short time he was in office, and work like the dickens in our local communities to get good candidates ielected in the legislature. And do what we are doing now, keep blogging and spreading the word … Palin is a pawn and a harlot.
PJ—you have made several good points for the case of Palin, but I believe there will be several Reps. who will cut her down, when the time comes.
Right now, it is much to early for anyone to poke their heads out of the water, but the day will come. As the old saying goes—–Give them enought rope and they will hang theirselves.
