@57PJ- Remember how sad President Obama was when he took office? He knew he would be cut-off from the public, even his friends? He had to beg to keep his Blackberry. He won, with stipulations. He and First Lady Michelle have many White House events in order to keep engaged with the public. “He” communicates via whitehouse.gov and barackobama.com… President Obama wasn’t too happy realizing he would more or less be a prisoner of the WH. I think President Obama communicates with us sublimally, by showing strength and purpose. WE need to get the media to call attention on the important bills that he has signed in the short time he was in office, and work like the dickens in our local communities to get good candidates ielected in the legislature. And do what we are doing now, keep blogging and spreading the word … Palin is a pawn and a harlot.

But we do have Bush as the exemplar of our downfall. It’s very frighening, but I’m willing to wait and see. Headlines of celebrity are not necessarily those of history, and she seems to seek celebrity alone. I don’t think that she know the difference.

I check out other blogs and some of those “feminist sites” are throwing her support as we speak. They may be misinformed about where this “Lazy Bones” is coming from when it comes to issues, but they are paying attention to her publicity. If Obama does not get off the stick and start to at least connect with the population as she seems to, we may be looking at a tight race in 2012.

They are not in the least put off by her constant referrals to “god”, her inarticulation, her rambling offerings, her distance from feminist issues, her resignation. They like her!!! They think she “speaks” for us and has been harmed by the press no matter how many times it is pointed out that is her policies that are the issue. They do not care!

I would urge anyone out there to pick up a copy of “The Family” to at least get familiar with where this gang of religious fanatics is heading. Palin is their trump card in this respect.

This is one reason why I do not dismiss her. She may be nuts, her supporters may be bigots, but she could take hold and the there won’t be a ceiling high enough to resist my head exploding if she does!

AKM, you are a treasure, and I’m so grateful for you and your incisive humor and wit, given with such grace and unrelenting insight. You are a delight and a bright light shown on many a scurrering menace, but also a light on those who, in their devotion to their task, save us all (Cook Inletkeeper and Ann Strongheart.)
