Snow Day!
The regular Thursday night taping of Moore Up North at Bernie’s Bungalow has been cancelled. It’s been snowing all night and all day, and many roads have not been plowed yet, creating less than stellar driving conditions.
Since the theme of Moore Up North tonight was to have been about health care, it seems appropriate not to put people’s health in jeopardy to attend the taping!
So, this Saturday you’ll be seeing a rerun of Moore Up North. There have been five shows so far and any one of them could be a “Best of” program, so to throw in your two cents about what you’d like to see, hop over to Shannyn Moore’s blog and vote in the poll.
Remember, buckle up, drive slow and drive safe.

Drive carefully up there, all Anch. and MadZoo mudpups!
Way cute movie from 1980 named “Snow Day”.

Totally OT…but we need more people like Al Franken in our national government! Did you see his polite but definite refusal to allow Lieberman to continue yapping on and on and on. He’s the only spark of light I can see in our Congress.
And I should edit (but don’t know how to!) I should have said Senate rather than Congress.
It’s okay manxmamma, Senate is part of Congress, as is the House of Representatives. But please don’t forget about Bernie Sanders!
It’s Rain Day in Juneau after a lovely, delightful snowfall – my dogs are looking pretty sad since our favorite trail would have been too icy today. We are the quintessential location which teaches the lesson of “Just Do It Right Now Because It Changes Rapidly and You’ll Miss Opportunities”.
Now that I’m retired I call some of my days “Snow Days.” These are days when I don’t have to go anywhere and can stay in pajamas until noon or so. The first one I experienced was my first year of teaching in Oregon. We had a snow day, so I stayed home and enjoyed a nice fire. The next day I went to school and the other teachers informed me that teachers were required to report on snow days. I certainly enjoyed my innocence.
No fair! Stop hogging all that snow!! I’ve got new snowshoes to try out so feel free to share.
We’re supposed to get up to 7 inches of snow on Saturday in NJ. Getting very cold here too. I don’t like the snow, it causes problems with driving and I am a warm weather person so I don’t think I could survive in Alaska. I give you Alaskans alot of credit for living in a cold state.
Another thing also, too I’m glad for you Alaskans that you no longer have the “hottest” Governor in the the coldest state but now she’s messing with
the lower 48 and we don’t want her either.
The frost last week was gorgeous, and the light, fluffy, perfect-for-downhill-skiing snow this week is wonderful as well. Our dogs are very much enjoying bounding about up to their bellies and beyond in the stuff, and I’m enjoying the way it hangs in the trees and muffles the city noises. We’ll have a white Christmas this year!
Our weather has included snow and minus 30 celcius so I am happy to donate that to our intrepid sauerkraut.
Oh, and that hottest governor thing doesn’t seem to work so well in states where you show some skin, MEOW!
no picture–I’m disappointed! We, in nw Wash. have had our snow and the rains have returned. We just finished the longest stretch of subfreezing weather I can remember: bright sunny days and record cold, definitely NOT Western Washington winter. Now, we are back to our grey skies and rain.
I sure like looking at all the pictures with the snow and ice. I can drive to it in a couple hours, if I so desire. But I’ll stick with days like today where we were in the upper 60′s. That’s our winter in Phoenix. But then we get the blast furnace in July, so it evens out.
Elizabeth….I second your sentiments! I just hope we don’t get any wind storms in the next couple of weeks. Grey skies and rain are most welcome after all that cold weather we just had.
Shannyn, dang, I will miss your show, well actually for me the later re-runs.
Ya all hunker down, stay safe and warm. We’ll be patiently waiting.
Later, girlfriend.

Are you suggesting that… that… dare I suggest it… that S’error Palin is the cause of global warming cuz she’s so hot???
love all this snow… the driving sux tho – hoping we get a blackout from heavy snow on the wires – I love how quiet it gets here with the power out
We are back to normal, sunny skies and low 50s in Denver, snow- our white gold- in the mountains. Be safe, everyone…
So s’error is quitting hawaii… guess it’s yet another snow job.
I heard Tawd was rubbing bacon grease on her instead of sunscreen but the sharks just weren’t biting that day.
Since this show was to have addressed healthcare, I trust I’m not going off-topic here ……..
Way to go, Al Franken! You’ve proven to me that you’re more than an ex-SNL character.
Al probably took most of the Senate off guard ….. because, of course, you just don’t do that, especially to one of your senior members when you’re just a new freshman.
But Franken knew that many Americans were getting po’d at Joe L., and he echoed our sentiments. In other words — Joe, shut up – we’ve heard enough from you.
Joe needs to shut up and go away. Even if he needs some help in getting there. Key Dems can help that happen.
And in regard to healthcare reform —
I think now we need to look more realistically at *insurance* reform first, and then work toward total healthcare reform. Obviously the lobbies and corporate interests are going to push this to the Nth degree, and right now it looks like they’ll reap the rewards. Get the regs in place first for insurance, and then work on covering Americans. Baby steps, maybe.
Barack, don’t give in to the corporations and lobbyists. Remember you elected you!
OOPS!
“Remember WHO elected you!”
