    KatNo Gravatar says:

I went grocery shopping tonight & saw the cover of the National Examiner…huge picture of $carah’s mad face with the headline – OBAMA’S OUT TO RUIN ME, and in smaller print – Michelle is too. I was going to read it, but for the first time in years, the line moved with lightening speed and I never got to it.

I’m sure the story didn’t live up to the cover, but the pathetic part is that she continues to compare herself to the President as if they were equals. She can’t take it that she is so far down the list of his worries that she doesn’t even exist.

It’s gotta gall her that when the Obama family arrives in Hawaii later this week, the press has announced they will be there in full force to welcome them. And, they’ve been covering the visit for weeks. “Those darn Hawaiians. He gave them orders to ignore me and my incognito self when I was there. Otherwise they would have flocked to me like a swarm of flies to a steaming pile of tchit.” ROFLMAO!

Love the 1-9 days AKM, especially the cookies and poor polar bears. Waiting with bated breathe for the remaining days. You are SO good!!

It’s book signing day in Wasilla and I can’t wait for the boots on the ground reports. Wonder how much security she’ll have to keep those real Americans who disagree with her away?

Thanks, AKM, for the new lyrics to the 12-days of Christmas. Much better than what the teabaggers came up with:

    tigerwineNo Gravatar says:

moseyon and pearl and austin – I’ll be virtually 4th in line behind you! Let’s see, I’m 4 hours behind, when is the signing?- I don’t think I can stand it – got a feeling there’s gonna be lots of boots on the ground for this one!

On MSN today, they announced their 11 most influential women, and I almost didn’t read it, thinking SP would lead the list. But, guess what? She wasn’t even on there!!! Folks like Sotomayor, Hillary and Oprah were. Some, also, I hadn’t even heard of! Here is their criteria for choosing:

“Every year at MSN Lifestyle, we assemble our list of influential people and every year we struggle to separate the truly influential from the merely popular. The women on this year’s list come from many different fields and backgrounds but they all share one common feature: they are doing something that inspires or encourages us and yes, influences the way we live.”
    Neat, huh?

  8. 8
    tigerwineNo Gravatar says:

I should clarify that these were the most influentail women. There was another list for men.

    BuffaloGalNo Gravatar says:

Love that one Fly ! ( but then, I always do ) $’error’s cookies can cure all ills. She should package them. Her adoring fans would gobble them up no matter how disgusting they are. ” Just like communion wafers only holier and with a full day’s worth of lean moose meat protein. Yum!”

This has always been my least favorite holiday song but this new version is turning that around. And I just love the photos of her that have been used. Captures all of her interesting personalities.

(and Pearl – what the heck were the teabaggers trying to do with their version. I couldn’t even watch the entire 56 seconds of it. painful !)

Kat @4 – if that tabloid with quitter’s face is still there next time you’re at the store, snag that little bugger and slip it into a large ziploc. You never know – might be worth some $$ a little bit down the line. I’m going to look for one when I’m out today.

Book signing day !! Woohooo! Has Wasilla instituted a city wide tomato ban ? Wonder what they’re going to do about the snowballs !

I finally decorated yesterday. Woke this morning to find that Evil Kitty hates Christmas along with everything else in the world. Found my big stuffed Frosty the Snowman yanked from the mantle and in a terrible disarray on the floor. His garland is thrashed and strewn and lord only knows what kitty did to his cute little top hat. Nowhere to be found. It was like a scene from ” CSI – Christmasland” . Gruesome.

Merry Christmas Eve Eve Eve, Everyone! I’m to do Christmas shopping. (REALLY this time!) Still haven’t done a stitch of it. Should be fun!

My son and granddaughter are coming today for a pre-Christmas visit. They are going to Disney for the holiday. I’ll be taking care of their THREE Pugs while they are away. So, I’ll have FOUR dogs and THREE cats underfoot and loving it!

Palin made the “Best Career Move” list on The Daily Beast: http://www.thedailybeast.com/blogs-and-stories/2009-12-21/the-decades-10-best-ndash-and-worst-career-moves/?cid=hp:vertical:r.

Sadly, quitting her responsibilities, lying about anything and everything and signing with a publishing company that knows how to (artificially) push and promote books to the Best Sellers list, has made her rich. The media can’t get enough of this tabloid princess and has made her famous but not for her knowledge, integrity or social contribution or even because she was an amazing VP choice or governor.

It disgusts me to admit it but for many, being rich and famous have become the most important qualities in America today.

    GreatGranny2CNo Gravatar says:

These daily ditties just keep getting better and better! My radio is on in the background most of the day and each time the 12 days comes on, I’ve had to chuckle and replace the items with those AKM has posted.

I followed AKM’s suggestion for shopping the sponsors and my order of salmon from Vic Briggs has arrived. DH could barely contain himself and was ready to pop the first jar open and have a pre-dinner snack. My plan is to do a salmon mousse for our Christmas Day brunch with family and friends. Can hardly wait as I’m sure it will turn out better than any salmon I could buy locally.

BuffaloGal – I sympathize with your cat problem, but my problem is with our Chihuahuas. They think anything they can sink their teeth into is fair game so a gate goes across the living room doorway when the tree is up.

I also, too, will be waiting to hear how the book signing goes.

A little humor to start the day…..from the Borowitz report:

WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report) – The Senate’s efforts to introduce a tax on tanning beds hit a roadblock today as Rep. John Boehner (R-Ohio) blasted the idea, calling it “a blatant attack on Orange Americans.”

Rep. Boehner said that the anti-tanning provision would likely create opposition from the so-called “Orange Republicans,” a group of pumpkin-colored lawmakers including Sen. John Ensign (R-Nev).

“We are going from orange to red over this thing,” he said.

Mr. Boehner said he was confident that the tanning tax would be removed from the final healthcare bill just as a tax on Botox was: “Botox users were furious about that tax, but they didn’t show it.

I have to say the Sarah’s Cookie Monster moment has got to be about the most inexplicable and inexcusable moment of her political life.

What could she have possibly have been thinking?
At a guess the same thing she was thinking when she does so many bizarre things like wearing a blacked out McCain visor.
She is trying to get attention in a way that allows her to play the self righteous victim.

She wants the attention that bizzare acts bring.
But she also she wants the warm fuzzy hug she can give herself when she shows the self-righteousness of what ever she just did.

I’m thinking of the first post (#1) here by BigSlick who says cookies and milk have tainted her view of Santa.

I’ve had a similar problem this year. I’ve always had a fondness for Santa images, appreciate him both austere and jolly. This year I pulled out my big laughing face of Santa to put in the window and…looking at him, I just thought TEABAGGER! and possibly a pervert.

I hope I recover. I feel defiled by the shocking images of proud stupidity from the past year.

LiladyNY@13, many years ago i bought myself a beautiful tree and went all holiday glam. what a foolish move on my part! by the end of the season my once magazine-ready tree was hardly recognizable after my ONE kitten was finished. the fancy ribbon had been just about completely pulled off and the yardage on the floor was in shreds. i lost many bulbs that year and avoided a floor tree for many years after that. but now that i have a child, i must go all out. however, my tree today is filled with homemade things, small stuffed Christmas thingies, and plastic ornaments. it’s actually more cheery and homey than my glam tree. we love it. and so do my three fully grown cats. nothing we do keeps them away. if they’re not under it, they’re on it. it is amazing how far up a one year old and a three year old can go! all we can do is keep the precious homemade stuff near the top.

Have mixed feelings about finding a great deal. I went to the local bookstore that I visit every Christmas and found it was going out of business. Was terribly sad that the big stores were driving it out but the books were discounted 85% even on the already discounted books. I walked out of there with a bagful of amazing hardcovers and spent only $7.17 .

Glad to hear other Pets vs Christmas tales. I guess Evil Kitty could do much worse so I’ll count my blessings. Hey Austin – When I first read that caption on the TacoCat picture I thought it said “Palin Drone”. Made me think of some bizarre sequel to the Terminator series.

Am taking a moment to think of those that have wicked Mothers in Law –

30 yrs ago today my wonderful Mother in Law passed away, she was a lovely person that only gave advice when asked. She enjoyed all (27) members of her extended family. Every Mid December, after church, we’d load up all the kids & sleds, and the family would take to the mountains for each of us to find the perfect tree. Pulling bundled kids on sleds – hot cocoa or soup in the thermos’s. Back at the ranch, crock pots of stew and chili simmered waiting for our return. I miss that lovely lady …. after all these years, those are my fondest memories.

Oh I remember those times when my kids were young and we’d go out to look for the most perfect tree! We’d be running all over the mountaintop because you know the perfect tree was just 100 yards up the hill! Oh those days.

I really really want a do-over with my kids. They grew up too fast.

To anyone who has young children and they make you crazy every minute of the day and night, I say savor each moment because they grow up in the blink of an eye and you’ll never get these days back.

I read Palin’s tweet on another site referencing “death panels”–yep she’s done it again. Her fans won’t notice that she is trying to perpetuate a lie, because their Sarah doesn’t lie. Her fans won’t accept that Ms. Palin promoted the very same language about end-of-life discussions through an Alaska State proclamation, but for political purposes she know she now calls death panels, because she doesn’t make stuff up. Sarah alone is nothing, but since her die-hard worshipers view her as the second coming, she is dangerous.

I’m afraid that the Teflon coated sainted Sarah will remain unscathed to her fans …but for the rest of us and those in the country who allow their minds to function normally, I pray that she will eventually go the way of Ross Perot. Until then, she remains the best entertainment and joke fodder the country has seen in a long time.

THERE IS A SANTA CLAUS IN THE NORTH POLE!!!

    North Pole Santa letters program

By Amanda Bohman | Fairbanks Daily News-Miner

“FAIRBANKS – As a student at North Pole Middle School, Kaleb Yates answered letters to Santa Claus as have thousands of other middle school students in the Christmas-themed town since the 1980s. ”

“What makes Yates different is the experience inspired him to make a documentary film “Letters to Santa.”

The film will be broadcast on KUAC Alaska One at 9 p.m. on Christmas Eve and 9:30 p.m. on Christmas Day.

“An elderly woman from Chicago, in debt and depressed, had written Santa asking for dental work and an eye exam. Yates said his mother, Jackie Fischer, called various media outlets in the Windy City, setting into motion an effort to get the womans medical needs met.”

(“KUAC describes the film as a “light-hearted, inspirational look at the people who keep the spirit of Christmas alive by writing back to those who have written letters to Santa Claus.” )

Michelle Bachman is not a “Welfare Queen”. She is a true red American who
swims against the flows of Obama’s socialistic drive to make this county fascist
and full of expensive corn and milk. Come on now what else would you expect
from a president that was not even born in this country, with no birth
    certificate written in American.

Michelle’s family works way harder than what people will pay for the stuff they
grow and squeeze out of cows. (And no it’s not methane, because there ain’t
no such thing as invisible gasses). So the government gives them money to
make them OK with what the market pays them. That is the American free
market system at it’s finest. No Socialism for us GOPers. No sir-re Bob.

Besides if her family looses the farm that will be one less place for us to drill-
baby-drill and that is just Anti-American. I know things like this because my
family stands between Russia and the lower 48 states. And you know you can’t
depend on the Canadians because they have single payer medicine and so they
are all sick and wont be able to hold the Ruskies back. So me and Todd got
    your backs. You bet-cha.

Besides the government subsidies that her family works so hard for can get
passed onto to her kin because no death tax from them. No way! We want to
pass it on so we can make our own little aristocrats that won’t have to work
hard, because there is nothing more middle class, red state, ya know, than that.

And don’t listen to anything Levi says about our family unit. I love my little
love child grand youngin he helped make for me. No death panels for him
    either. You bet-cha

Well I gotta go now. Your little Pricilla from Wasila has to do some flying
around this great country and sneak onto busses so those pesky liberal
poparazzi don’t start taking pictures of me that lie and show them to my
followers. After all, are they going to believe their eyes or the truths I made up
    especially for my book.
Love ya all, except the Terrorists and Liberals!

Garlands, Christmas decorations, anything bright & sparkling are just for their personal amusement. And they’re oh-so-very creative about what they do with them.

I have a son who insists on sending me flowers for Mother’s Day even though I’ve warned him. I came home last MD, wondering if I was going to make it to the bathroom in time, when my neighbor came out & handed me a florists delivery of a gorgeous arrangement. I grabbed the arrangement & bolted for my door. What to do? Couldn’t put down the flowers – the evil ones smelled it before I even got through the door, couldn’t wait to go, so I did the only thing I could – headed for the pot with the flowers in hand. There I sat – on the pot, holding the flowers in the air as high as I could with two cats climbing my frame trying to reach them. I was laughing like a loon. Normally they are angel kitties, but some things truly do bring out the “wild kingdom” side of them. :)

Earlier today I tried posting the story about Shannyn being ‘ banned ‘ in some stories in the comments on Huffpo. One was a McCain story. And this was before I heard about Gryphen and Dennis Zaki. I would encourage others to hit the Huffpo threads with comments and links as well.
And I would think that Dennis could report it to his contacts through CNN.

Does anyone know the link to Andrew Sullivan’s Daily Dish?
( as many people as possible need to email Andrew Sullivan)

He WILL report it. And when he linked back to Palingates that night when the Harper Collins Attorney singled out Celtic Diva and Palingates about posting screenshots of pages of the book before it came out… the internet went totally NUTS!!… with the number of hits.

We know AKM is very busy right now but Huffpo needs to let either Shannyn or AKM do a story post. The story needs to get out there. Since Shannyn was directly/personally affected… that might be the way to go.
I do hope Shannyn contacted Olberman earlier. Keith would LOVE to rant on THIS.

IF you trust the organizers of your book signing tour to not let anything get out of hand (they have had some experience doing this before, y’know); AND

IF you understand that any of the ‘banned’ would have to follow all the same rules as for the regular folk (or regular media) which you have pretty much not had a problem with on the rest of the tour (barring minor incidents)

Zaki said he was told that he and a couple of Alaska bloggers were on the list, with photos to identify them.

Hastings said Zaki was right — the signing was a private event paid for by Palin’s publisher, Harper Collins, and that Zaki and the others were not invited.

“At the end of the day, if something had gone wrong, it would have been my responsibility,” Hastings said. “If I take three minutes on Google I can see that, given the nature of the people who were here, it wasn’t in his (Zaki’s) best interest to be here. I was driving home today and caught an interview on NPR with one of the guys from “The Family”, or as he preferred to call it “The Fellowship”. He was trying to defend them from things that were said in a book about them. He was going on and on about how their purpose is: if people could just get together and pray together all of the rifts between the right and the left could be healed. I almost had to pull off the road at this point because my blood started to boil and I had to think to myself….is there something wrong with me that this bothers me? I have no problem with the idea of prayer. If you want to pray, more power to you. But I do have a problem with the idea that they just assume that this is the path that everyone should take to spirituality or, for that matter, getting the work of government done. Some people don’t pray (or at least not in their way or to their god).

Yesterday I almost got into it with a co-worker. I went to a Baptist (no offense to any Baptists here) memorial service for someone that I truely cared about. This was her church-which was obviously very important to her. I knew that she was a born-again Christian but this never came into our relationship, except for her occasional references to god in conversation. I know that god and heaven is very important to many people. That is fine. This memorial service, on the other hand, was chock full of fire-breathing, preaching from all of her siblings. I went to remember her and support her children. I didn’t go to be preached at. I quietly slipped out the back when (after an hour and a half) I couldn’t take it anymore. So, the next day my co-worker (who was at the memorial) starts talking about how nice it was to go to a memorial where people spoke “the truth” and didn’t just talk about the person who died. I thought preaching was what funerals were for and remembering the person was what memorials were for. Geez, I must be stupid or something. Anyway, I mentioned to my co-worker that perhaps that was “her truth” but not necessarily “the truth” of everyone there. She replied “it doesn’t matter what I think, there is only one truth”. At this point I said, “well I beg to differ, your truth is not the truth of millions of people in this world and it is this very arrogance that has people killing each other all over the world”. I am struggling with how to cope with this as I am completely surrounded by it every day. It isn’t about reason or intellect. It is about faith. And if one doesn’t share another’s faith in this community, apparently one is a complete outcast and disregarded as being the lowest of the low. Huh.

I finished skimming my way through the copy of Scarah’s book that someone gave to me. I read it back to front as I was warned about how boring it was (my method didn’t really help). All I could think from page to page of God, Reagan, sacred motherhood and “commonsense” was “this reminds me of a baby working itself up into a squalling cry”. You know the wa…..wa….wa….waaaaaaaaaaaaaah? every three pages it got the waaaaaaaaaaaaah part. Unbelievable waste of time. Going Rouge gave me a compilation of most of my favorite writings from the election. The chapter on Alaska being a petrocracy was the most enlightening as I hadn’t seen it before.

My New Years resolution is to swear off everything SP and move on to the scarey people in congress who are working against everyone who wants some fairness and decency in this country. Murkowski is the first on my list. The absolute arrogance of those who act as if “I’ve got mine so scr#w you if you don’t” (and that means not just in this country but in the world as a whole) are all on my list.

Good for all of you leaving comments at the Frontiersman. Did you happen to notice this comment?

” I was at the book signing today and all I have to say is, “Thank God for Sarah.” The world is such a mess, we need Sarah now more than ever. To have such a wonderful, white woman full of energy and vision running for President is a blessed happening for our nation. I know that others will feel the power of her presence when she comes to their town and they too shall come to see her vision of faithful servants of the Lord serving our nation and rising up at the end of days. ”

Note The “white” woman and that this person thinks she is already running for President. And then, of course, there is the mandatory reference to God and the end of days. This is EXACTLY what I am faced with every day at work. ARGGGGGH. This kind of thing just bugs the sh*t out of me. Politics and religion…..ARGHHHHH.

Wait, Wasilla has a Cultural Services Director? Really? What cultural services do they have there, besides Meth making classes? (Apologies to any of you Mudflatters up there). And so they banned Dennis and company to protect them from negative situation? So he is saying that they can’t trust Palin supporters to remain civil and are afraid they would get out of control so they escort Dennis and Gryphen out. Hmmm, I wonder is Mr Hastings used to work for the Pentagon. His arguement sounds a lot like the arguement to keep Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell. They aren’t worried about the gay soldiers, but of the reaction of any homophobes in the military.

Weird how all the other top stories on the ADN web site allow comments. And I see people are saying that some of you people think that Sarah is chicken or ascared of certain bloggers and that is why they were banned. But I would direct this comment to Miss Sarah and Todd and their supporters about her evading the press, in the words of Keith Olberman, “Here, Kitty, Kitty, Kitty, Kitty”

Oh, and I hope to see Shannyn on countdown tomorrow talking about this. And geez, if there was a fourth banned person, I wonder who it was? Hmmm. Probably have to think about that a while. Any ideas, AKM?

This banning of certain individuals from a public function smells very very wrong ~ and most likely is illegal to boot. I can hope.

Speaking of boots ~ the woman walks like a horse.*

That was my first reaction also, too.
I always thought that beauty contestants learn how to walk?

I guess she literally got her panties into a wad…

oops i scrolled too fast it was already noted. on another note, has anyone seen the cspan clip of the caller crying because he thought gawd had heard his prayers wrong and killed inhofe (sp?) instead of byrd? probably a hoax but the senator (R something) did not respond at all to the prayer part and simply assured the man that imhofe (sp?) had not shown up because with or without him the dems had the votes. weird and really pathetic unless it was a joke. i wish i was more certain it was a joke.

    Here’s your tee shirt.

“I went all the way to Sarah Palin’s book signing in Wasilla, AK and all I got was my name on a lousy banned list.”

And for the rest of us “Hey, Sarah. What? I’m not good enough for the Banned List?

I should note here that there is already in existence a worthy shirt. It’s part of the annual Banned Books week. It says, “I’m with the Banned.” I think that says it all.

There’s also one on cafepress, but an obvious knockoff.

Barbara, I commented to “blessed” on the Frontiersman site. I politely asked her if she knew that God had created people of many colors and that she and $carah had a lot in common, which wasn’t a compliment. I was very civil and also addressed the banning but my comment never made it. In fact, there were no more comments after blessed’s comment. Guess Frontiersman shut comments down. At least a few (19) comments got through. ADN didn’t allow comments at all. They’re strictly a Palin Newsletter, no investigative reporting there.
