GREAT .... you did such an amazing job deconstructing the book, then assembling the debunkings by the named players.

HOWEVER .... now you need to add the comments from those who cast doubt on Sarah's allegations of threats to Willow in Juneau!

I will take the easy job, Mudflats. I will compile a list of things that are TRUE in Sarah's book!

.................................

Name: Sarah Louise Heath Palin

.....................................

OK well now THAT's done!

Yep, my job was way easier than yours!

Review by Margaret and Helen and that is only the first chapter.....

"Margaret, Chapter One of Going Rogue by Sarah Palin ends on page 62. That’s about 61 pages after it should have ended."

The New York Times review was the one I missed, and I'm glad you posted the link!

My favorite line so far in that it summarizes not only the book but Palin to a T:

So does anyone believe Scarah went kayaking when 9 months prego, while in labor? first of all would she fit in a kayak? would she be able to balance very well, especially while having contractions? and, would it be a wise or safe thing to do while in labor?

Inquiring minds just gotta know whether this could possibly actually happen or whether this is yet another big ol fabricated fib.

Any docs or kayakers out there that care to comment?
Any witnesses to this event? Mernards, Chucky, Sally, Toad, care to comment?

Hmmm, strange at it may be to be siding with Sarah on anything, I think the Scrabble player whose critique is cited above was misreading that passage in the book. If members of her family tend to hold onto high-value letters - like Q and K - hoping to use them on a triple word score - well, that's how most folks I know play (myself included); calling that strategy "hoarding" makes sense, especially if you are talking about a number of games over a period of time, even if you can only "hoard" one or two tiles in a particular game. Sure she just said "Ks and Qs" but I think it's clear from the context that Zs and Js and Xs might just as well be "hoarded" too...

On the other hand, I wonder qualifies as a "long fancy word" in the Palin household - maybe quack?

And just to be clear, I think that like every sentence in her book, that one serves a purpose - to show her readers that she is too smart and knows long fancy words and stuff, all public evidence to the contrary notwithstanding.

Now, putting on my nitpicker hat:
(Psssst, AKM, it's spelled "indices" - with an i.) :)

In the immortal words of Conan the Barbarian (no relation to sea of pee-ers), "That which does not kill us, makes us strong!" and you, my dear AKM are TITANIUM. Bless you for this effort on our part.

And the circus continues. I'm heading out to buy peanuts.

About the comment from A Scrabble Player who says "...any good scrabble player knows that there's only one K and one Q per set of tiles..."

Yeah but any good scrabble player with a Sharpie can hoard all the K's and Q's she wants.

Bless you AKM. What a handy resource.
I think, but could be wrong, that the quote Palin (and I guess quote garden) attributes to Plato was actually written by Marjorie Pay Hinckley in her book Small and Simple Things. Scroll down to see the quote.
