It was the ignorant George W. Bush who started talking about “the war on terror”. According to Hyperdictionary.com, the definition of terror is:
1.[n] an overwhelming feeling of fear and anxiety
    2.[n] a very troublesome child
3.[n] a person who inspires fear or dread; “he was the terror of the neighborhood”
There cannot be a war against an emotion, (terror), but there can be efforts against terrorists and terrorism. It just sounds ignorant for people to parrot GWB and use his term “war on terror”. PLEASE everyone, talk about our efforts to combat terrorists and terrorism, not about having a war on an emotion. (Whew, I feel better now)

What do you expect, healthcare is classism, is that a word? And terror industrial complex supports the classless classists. They’re all words now damnit.

@JerryMander, that’s why we need to support people like Greg Mortenson. He’s building schools for girls (but boys are allowed to attend, too) in rural Afghanistan & Pakistan. Greg wrote “Three Cups of Tea.” His new book, just out, is “Stones into Schools.” Google him. (You can buy those books through the Mudflats amazon.com link and Mud will get a little bump.)

In defense of the aforementioned mouth breathing Texan in Rome. As if there were many Texans who can breathe otherwise, doesn’t the traffic in Rome make people insane?

I think Israel like us is run by people who see fomenting insecurity and unrest as a means to retain power and attain wealth. Like Sharon. I hope I spelled his name wrong. Obviously Israel has never made any attempt at hearts and minds, more like the opposite.

Not even considering how our aid is used, Israel has close to if not the very highest standard of living in the middle east. It’s pretty nuts to be giving them any aid even if they weren’t using it to blow up or incinerate Brown children.

Wasn’t Wes Keller appointed by Sarah Palin to replace Beverly Masek when she resigned in disgrace? And wasn’t he someone Sarah knows from her fundamentalist church?

  35. 38
    shannynNo Gravatar says:

    yes, yes he was….

  36. 39
    honestyinGovNo Gravatar says:

    Shannyn… here is a question…?

Since Sarah will be the first Tea-bag Queen and role model in February at their convention….. will she refuse her PFD check this year.

Otherwise I see that as a hypocrite and against their VALUES…!

Great show, Shannyn! I can’t believe someone would want to incur the cost of drug testing folks before they give them food. Sounds like a church thing, too. Believe what I believe before I give you some cookies.

    Grrrrrrrrrrr

  41. 44
    Anon In PalmerNo Gravatar says:

Susie: Wes Keller was appointed by Palin to replace Vic Kohring who was convicted of taking bribes.

  42. 45
    Susie SnowflakeNo Gravatar says:

Yes, that sounds familiar now. Who replaced Bev Masek, or did she just fill out her term and not run again? It’s been long enough that I am trying to recall it all. But Wes Keller is someone Sarah know from her fundamentalist church group?

  43. 46
    Anon in PalmerNo Gravatar says:

Mark Neuman (R) became the representative of house district 15 (Willow) in January 2005. He was preceded by Beverly Masek.

Wes Keller is a member of Wasilla Bible Church. Palin isn’t a member of one specific church since 2001. Prior to her run for Lt. Gov in 2001, she was a member of Wasilla Assembly of God.
