Sarah Palin Psycho Talk
Visit msnbc.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy
Just in case you missed this one, Sarah Palin made Ed Schultz’ “Psycho Talk” segment. Politifact chose “Death Panels” as the number one lie of 2009, and she just keeps doing it to … death. I suppose now she’s technically entered the same lie for the 2010 contest. Is that legal? I say she needs some new material. 3, 2, 1….

Somehow I suspect that the many ‘awards’ and recognitions she’s been getting lately will NOT be displayed in the new Wasilla O’Palin compound!
I guess it is the one thing she can claim to have “created” (as in not actual) and others picked up on. So lie or not, she is sticking with it.
Psycho Sarah……
Has a nice ring to it!
Short & to the point.
Palin/Bachman 2012
Politics from a parallel universe.
Has she read the latest health care bill? I’ll guess not. Have I? Well, no, but I did read some nifty summaries (one supplied by a health insurance agency!), and from parts that I have read, I’m no more worried about her scenario of death panels than I am of what we have right now.
Hey Sarah – Insurance Company Executives are right now the arbitors of exactly what you are saying. They decide who lives and who dies by what they allow (or more often, disallow). It’s simple, Sarah. If people have enough money they live, and if not, they die. Do you really think that’s right? Please make a statement explaining your position on this subject.
Ack! Unexpected rant!
The “problem” with telling lies is that you have to follow lies with more lies. Now Palin is insinuating that countries that have national health care, like Britain, have “death panels”. That’s obviously good enough for Hannity (and his audience)!
Maybe Mr. InSanity needs to call up current GOP Senator from AK Lisa Murkowski to go on the air as well for a 2nd opinion.
Paraphrasing…. Didn’t she say something like .. “There is NO SUCH THING as ‘ death panels ‘. The whole idea is absurd ”
Whether Lake Lucille is frozen or not… the LOONS on the Lake are still squalking. This one certainly didn’t fly South.
Next thing you know she will be inviting Greta back up to the Lake for a ride on the snowmachine… Again. I don’t think Greta has seen the New house either…?
(From SP -Memo to Greta: Don’t forget to bring the cameras..* wink*..*wink* )
As egregious as the whole Death Panel fiasco is, I think one of the other segments featuring Rudy former Mayor of New York is even worse. First he confuses the timing of the ‘shoe bomber’ incident as having happened before 9/11 (in his attempt to say Obama took too long to respond to the Christmas Day attempt. Bush took 6 days to respond to the shoe bomber. RG tries to say that was because 9/11 hadn’t happened yet. wrong.) And the worst? Guiliani says there was no domestic attack on our country during the Bush administration – so like, what was 9/11?? I think Sarah’s death panel nonsense pales in comparison. And Rudy is supposed to be relevant – !
Why shouldn’t Sarah win the 2010 Liar of the Year award for the same lie if she keeps spewing it in 2010?
After all, AKM won Political Blog of the year two years running for the same blog.
Okay. Really bad comparison.
But if the naughty monkey fits.
Crazy …but what else is new
who is she talking about when she said “just like other countries” that have death panels???
I am repulsed…I am legal guardian of a severely disabled woman, who I have raised since she was 3. She has been on govt medical care her entire life (medicaid)….never, never, has anyone ever approached me, ever suggested or even hinted that whatever medical care she needed should not be given to save money….this is a person who is medically frail, is in a wheelchair, has a feeding tube, etc…
I also have been very involved in several end of life decisions…with both of my parents and prior to that with my grandmother…these were essential in order to progress with the care, or lack of care, that the individual wanted ….to miss sarah…she thinks this is wrong? calls them death panels? I prefer to call them respect…living wills…and discussion with doctors re these were/are essential
Liar Liar Liar….what really makes me mad is how many people seem to believe her..
Aren’t the Palins receiving medical care for free from the Federal Government, as Native Alaskans? Certainly, Toad qualifies and his relatives.
Todd Palin and the kids are eligible for the evil socialist Native health care from the State of Alaska. Sarah Palin’s pregnancies were also covered. Whether they took advantage of this or not, I don’t know specifically. AKM
If it (Native health care) was free, then I guarantee you she took full advantage of it.
And probably then some.
Well, “Death Panels” isn’t good enough for me! I demand all new lies!
haven’t had a tweet in 3 days. She’s due to provide more fodder today or tomorrow…
*wringing hands with anticipation*
I spent some time in the UK (two years) and although when there, people never did claim their health care system was perfect, I never heard anyone claim they’d happily switch it for what we have in the U. S.
In fact, quite the opposite. Our ‘Lack of Health Care’ system was often and rightly criticized and I was even sometimes asked to defend it .. and I couldn’t.
So when people say, “ooh, it could turn our to be that socialized medicine like health care in Canada or the UK”, I say “Yippee! Hooray”, “Bring it on!”
I woud – no kidding – happily pay at least 1% to 3% more in taxes to get a public option in this country to ensure some sort of public option health insurance. And from what I understood, the proposed public option was not going to raise our taxes at all.
So … why were people against something that wasn’t going to cost them anything but would help other people be able to afford something that would help keep them from going bankrupt and would help keep them (the prevously uninsured) from being a drain on the economy like they really are now? Why?
Why should she abandon one of her most celebrated whoppers? It’s the tomato on the crap sandwich she tries to feed everybody.

Agreed. This man has a security firm that touts his expertise and he wants to twist facts for the Bush-Cheney failures? For the man that used 9/11 to death in his failed campaign, you’d think he’d realize that he has cemented himself to that date in 2001 for the rest of his life…and we all remember who was presidunce at the time.
The “talking oinks” are all assigned and poor Rudy can’t defy his masters, they must remake history of the Bush administration…he is being used as one of the pawns…so much for the big shot.
If you tell a big enough lie, often enough…. ______ of ______, WWII
I’m from Canada. We don’t have death panels. You know who has death panels? American insurance companies. They’re the only ones who are deciding who gets care and who doesn’t.
You would think her followers would start to wonder why she only goes of faux Noise. They have to realize by now that it is the right hand of the republican party and if she was as sure of herself and if she was truthful she would be on something like 60 minuets ect.I think we can all agree that not all of us agree with everything the democratic party does,we can see that and speak of it but her followers can’t seem to do the same.Just like the repugs in the house and senate they all follow orders and don’t really think for themselves except for a few that use some common sense. It’s like they are the evil monkeys see no evil, hear no evil and speak no evil and won’t or can’t get past that
Man, she is one half-baked nutcase (you’d think I would know that by now). Is it just me, or does it seem the “Throw O’Scarah Under the Bus” campaign is heating up??? Just what I need on a cold winter night! BTW, I remember during the campaign last year, after it was completely debunked, she continued to use the “bridge to nowhere thanks but no thanks” line. I was shocked! I think I counted at least nine times that she said it to the crowds at campaign stops. (I wished I had saved the info to back this up). What was incredible though, was NO ONE called her on it! But it looks like your luck is running out, Granny!
Is Palin wearing a storm trooper uniform??
AKM: “Politifact chose “Death Panels” as the number one lie of 2009, and she just keeps doing it to … death.”

Insanity is telling the same lie over and over, expecting the truth will change as a result…..M.E.
giuli and sarah…….two crazed peas in a pod.
I can understand the people who are getting rich or re-elected by supporting the powerful insurance lobbies — they’re not worried about the cost of their cadillac insurance policies. What I don’t understand is what the people who have crappy or no insurance think they’re getting by continuing to support these capitalist bullies by supporting fear mongers like Palin. It seems simple to me: everybody pays in and the dreaded actuarial tables (or whatever the live-or-let-die betting tables used by the insurance companies are called) get thrown out the window and everybody wins. I suspect “the People” don’t have much say in this whole thing at all. I certainly don’t think my voice is being heard. I think the People are being used by misinformation campaigns to save the hides of the insurance bullies. So there.
Her lie about her lie is also a lie. Last year death panels was about paying for end of life consolation. It’s also another one of her flip flops she was for it before she was against it. She is a compulsive liar she lies even when she doesn’t need to. When people mention all she has quit they leave out she quit half way through her second term as Mayor to run for lieutenant governor. Now if she would just quit face book, twitter, and talking we would all be happy.
You dont get it.The women knows exactly what she is doing. As of weeks ago,we knew that there would be no government option in the final bill.Mrs O’Palin knows that too.But her faithfull followers only know what she,Hannity, and Rush tell them.So when the final bill is passed, with no government option, look for a FB post and an article on Sea of Urine exclaiming that Mrs O’Palin affected the final outcome of the healthcare bill by sticking to her “death panel” claim, and that that is why the government option was dropped, all because of little Mrs O’Palins efforts.
Death Panels “overseas?” Ok, over the last 25 years spouse and I have spent a great deal of time overseas. We lead groups of students and adults on educational trips “overseas.” In any given year, we spend at least 4-6 weeks “overseas.” We’ve had our passport renewed 3 times. (Sarah, how may times has your passport been renewed?)
During a great many of these excursions, either a traveler with us or one of us as had to make use of European health care – heart attack in Britain, kidneystones in Ireland, appendix in Germany, broken elbow in Italy, bladder infection in Greece-and in all cases, were given great treatment immediately with NO CHARGE! Am I for socialized medicine? You betcha!
In our travels, we have made many friends “overseas,” consequently, I have felt the need to contact them re: Death Panels.
From what I can gather from friends in these countries, NO DEATH PANELS in Britain, Ireland, France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Germany, Greece, Poland, or Netherlands.
I can’t speak for other countries “overseas.” Perhaps Austria? Norway?
(of course, why would I think that Ms Palin would have any idea what goes on “overseas?’)
mommom @ 26 ~ Sadly, what you say is closer to the truth than any semi-sane person could possibly fathom…or could possibly even want to contemplate.
She’s done it before (according to her [ghostwritten] FB screeds, apparently POTUS is listening to her – he’s seeking and [in some instances, even] heeding the opinions and advice she imparts to a bated-breath nation) and she’ll do it again. She’ll take full credit for whatever ultimately happens to select portions of the health care bill…if not for the entire final bill, also, too. Guarandamnteed, she will.
And because she has become so adept at twisting facts, planting falsehoods, spreading rumors/lies, and creating an alternate reality in which she is the ‘be all; end all’, her adoring fans will continue to be totally and utterly clueless about the real Mrs O’Palin. beth.
My husband and I have what is considered excellent insurance coverage, provided by the hospital we work for. He went out last evening to pick up chemsticks (used to check blood sugar) for the first time in 2010. Our coverage has altered, slightly. The chemsticks that he uses several times a day to monitor his blood sugar so he can keep as close to normal as possible, and hopefully avoid diabetic complications like heart or kidney disease- the price has increased from $25 a month to $150. We are now going to be paying $1500 more for essential supplies in 2010.
And we’d happily pay that in taxes to see that everyone gets healthcare. You think the cost of strips has actually increased by that much? Not hardly.
We are lucky in that we can manage to pay for this. What about people who can’t? They’ll wind up checking their blood sugars less frequently and having more diabetic complications, which will cost much more in the long run. Hospitalization for amputations, followed by physical therapy? Tens of thousands. Long-term kidney dialysis? Hundreds of thousands.
The ONLY way to reduce the risk of these complications is to monitor blood sugar closely and adjust insulin, diet and activity levels as needed. Death panels! Yeah. I’d far rather have Canadian or British healthcare, than insurance company death panels.
It’s actually good to know that Schmidt has a view on reality; at least a perspective that corresponds to what we see.
This woman has got to be the biggest joke Mc cain was blind probably lost the elections cause of her!
“As they do overseas”? WHO does that overseas?
@Ivy Freeborn – that should be a crime raising prices like that. I have to say thta my brother who suffered – and died from – lou Gehrig’s Disease had what my (doctor) sister referred to as “the Rolls Royce of Health Insurance”. And in 2 years and how many doctor’s appointments, treatments, home health care etc he received I can tell you that a bare fraction of any of it was reimbursed by his insurance. My younger brother brought him from NY to Florida and took him to several doctor’s appointments: the doctor charge $128 per visit; the insurance company reimbursed $24. My younger brother felt terrible for the doctor losing over $100 pre visit so offered to pay the difference out of his pocket. But this, I learned, is considered insurance fraud and both my brother and the doctor would be charged with insurance fraud. What a system!
She is signed up on Faux News now.
The whole line up is Insanity Central.
So Rupert Murdoch continues to fund Queen Esther and her magical thinking, babbling brook of lies and insanity.
Scary, really scary stuff going down here.
