Meeting Tonight! Public Comment Needed on Denali Wolf Buffer Zone!
The new members of the Anchorage AC – the SFW 7, are going to attempt to rescind the Anchorage AC’s support of the Denali Wolf Buffer Zone. It is likely they will succeed since the SFW 7 now have a majority vote on the committee. Its is vitally important that residents that support the Denali Wolf Buffer Zone testify at TONIGHTS meeting at the Rabbit Creek Rifle Range at 6:30pm. Your comments will be included in the meeting notes to the BOG. WE NEED THE BOG TO KOW – THE PUBLIC WAS NOT REPRESENTED AT THIS MEETING. We need more comments for the Denali Wolf Buffer Zone than against.
****************************************
After last weeks debacle which was called “an election,” the newly elected Anchorage Fish & Game Advisory Comittee will attempt to overthrow the Denali wolf buffer zone proposal that the committee passed in December.
This meeting is TONIGHT at 6:30pm at the Rabbit Creek Rifle Range at 15222 New Seward Highway.
If you’re as miffed as I am at the manner in which the election of this committee was conducted, you can contact the following people and politely express your concerns.
Denby Lloyd – Commissioner AK Dept. of Fish & Game denby.lloyd@alaska.gov
Jim Marcotte – Director, Board of Fisheries
jim.marcotte@alaska.gov
Dan Sullivan – Attorney General, State of Alaska
attorney.general@alaska.gov
You can also contact your legislators HERE and HERE and tell them that this entire process needs to be reformed. People on the Anchorage committee should be from THIS area. The Mat-Su Valley has its own committee and should not be allowed to send people to Anchorage to vote here. These areas need to be separated. And (here’s a novel idea) before someone votes, they should actually have to prove they are eligible.
The state has confirmed what we already knew. Nobody was checked for eligibility at the election, and 2/3 of the ballots were cast BEFORE anyone was even nominated. These results need to be annulled. I seem to recall all kinds of outrage during the 2008 election about questionable voter eligibility, so conservatives should be eager to see this enforced. RIGHT?!

Push the issue Alaskans, before they undo good things and vote in bad things. Take the reins.
good luck
FYI, the Mat Valley has a similar election coming up and the same group is pushiung for the same agenda there too.
Not sure if you need to register to see this or not.

Hoping for the best for Alaska. People need to stand together on this.
The Advisory Committee can only advise. Anyone can submit a resolution to the Board of Game. Anyone can weigh in on any resolution with the Board of Game, the Governor, the Legislators.
Even the lopsided Board of Game in Alaska frequently rejects the sorry resolutions put forward by many such local advisory committees because the radical resolutions–(trap everything, shoot everything year round everywhere) frequently are poorly thought out, unsubstantiated in observation, fact and science, and the committees themselves are simply too one-sided to be credible even to Alaska’s Board of Game.
God gave Republicans permission to cheat. Just ask them. They’ll tell you that and they would’nt lie would they.
Alaska has a magnificent natural heritage, don’t blow it like the other 49 states have.
Best wishes ANC folks!
And Moose Pucky is right, so don’t lose heart (nor steam in effort to annul the board voting results) !
l am a Democrat but if McCain would have picked another VP, I would have dealt with it. I wouldn’t have been happy but… What was he thinking? Oh- I remember. She is a conservative, attractive, and maybe because she is a woman we will win the women folk over. Geesh- now she is on the opposite of fair and unbalanced. The irony of this is that there are going to be cat fights “a brewing” on Fox. Just wait until Michelle Malkin or Ann C. are asked to visit less because the Palin fans want to see their Queen more often. Can anyone say conservative spat?
Best to Alaska.
Why not tie the SFW 7 to trees and let the wolves vote on the issue. Kinda wild, I know, but hey yanno… sometimes nature takes its own course.
Moose Pucky IS SO RIGHT!!!
I have testified in front of the actual boards against advisory boards and have seen them agree with those of us who spoke.
I did get a little inside that in the PAST this board was known for being radical and the board did NOT act on much they advised.
At least one member who was not necessarily the best known for working with people has been reelected soooo that said…..write, call and testify…you WILL make a difference.
DO it EVEN if you can not get there tonight!!
Hmm…fact is, sorry to say, but the people who read this blog don’t care about F&G issues. Just look at the comments. One person even commented on Sarah Palin and John McCain rather than on the advisory committee, which was what this thread was about. There are a dozen comments on this issue, and hundreds on anything having to do with Sarah, who I care less about every day. Sad, Anchorage, just sad that you don’t care about the state you live in. Sigh.
How did it go?
wondering myself
Thought I would re-visit this post to find out the outcome. Any news to report?
