I sort of owe the flats. The story about the Petersville tax bills lead me to examine my own a bit closer. I am paying twice the amount per acre as the other 4 tracts nearby, and about three times the rate that the Palins are paying. My Mat-Su property is farther from the road than theirs, and should be worth less the way I see it. Besides, I don’t have any structures at all.

Thanks Mudflats, I’m working on my appeal.

Funny thought – the tea partiers want smaller government, yet it’s now clear their poster-gal INCREASED the number of AK Governors from one to almost two. Way to go, tea baggers!!

  7. 7
    London BridgesNo Gravatar says:

Actually, Sarah increased the number of governors to 3. Sarah, Todd and Parnell. How many people does it take to fill the Alaskan governor’s post for one term? Answer: we don’t know. The light bulb was dim to start with and has now gone dark and we have no clue as to how to replace it.

  8. 8
    London BridgesNo Gravatar says:

Some other poster on another site gave me this idea. The real reason why Sarah resigned as governor was that Todd told her he was leaving her and wanted a divorce. She quit because she was totally clueless as to what she was supposed to do as governor. Then, after her grifting money making schemes clicked, Todd stuck around to make as much as possible as quickly as possible until their ethical ponzi schemes unraveled.

That explanation doesn’t work IMO. There was much discussion around here at the time. When $P did her quitter speech, it was smack dab in the middle of the short fishing season when they make the most money. The ‘Dude’ had to leave all and fly in overnight – to provide the backdrop prop, among the loons quacking in the lake background. I don’t think the timing was of dude’s chosing.

    The floodgates have opened.

Todd Palin has his finger in every pie. Of course, Hillary is brought up as justification. However, she operated in the clear light of day with the approval and knowledge of the general public during Clinton’s time in office. Todd has operated under the wire for years. I wonder how many other devious dealings he has been involved in over these many years that have gone before and behind us. Also too and therefore.

  16. 16
    twain12No Gravatar says:

I doubt Hillary was that intimately involved in that things went through her before they went to the President. The e-mails show that Todd was a LOT more involved than just as an adviser, looks like he called the shots on some things. I truly hate to pour cold water on hopes that this week’s news will mark a turning point and sudden downward slide in Palin’s seeming onward and upward trajectory. However, if the NY Times article today by their lead political writer, Mark Liebovich, is any indication, she is still sheathed in teflon. The Liebovich article about her week omits her property tax problems, Todd’s shadow governor emails, questionable uses of SarahPac funds, and does not mention the News Corporation’s outsize role in promoting her (how many politiicians have home television studios?). To protest this very slanted article, write the Times ombudsman at Public@NYTimes.com.

I think the NYT article was prepared for this weekend when she was supposed to be a Tea Party star. Before all the #@$ hit the fan.

Seagull Junker — I had the same thought. But, then I realized that the Times does a lousy incomplete job of reporting on this woman. I know that because an old friend who is smart, liberal, and a very good journalist believes Sarah is not dangerous and I am crazy to be concerned about her. Why? Because I get my information from Alaskan blogs, while my friend reads the NY Times and Washington Post. This ordinarily highly intelligent person has told me that if those two papers don’t have the stories, they are not worthy of being read or believed. This from someone who worked for UPI for many years and now is editor of a chain of award winning local newspapers. So, I wrote a comment to the paper. They are doing a the country great disservice to not report more of what is known about Sarah Palin.

Back to my comment @#14 about Hillary, it should be stressed that the examples of First Ladies brought forward for justification are the spouses of Presidents and these ladies frequently head and manage public initiatives. To compare Todd Palin to Hillary Clinton, Nancy Reagan, Eleanor Roosevelt et al is comparing apples to oranges and is specious at best

When I was posting over on twitter it occurred to me that there are more people than that at today’s matinee at any megaplex movie theater in any city . How many people come through Costco on a Saturday afternoon over the course of 3 hours ? High school footballs games bring in more people. And THIS is being covered ??

For all the open tables they have, they should offer up warm shelter and a nice lobster meal to some folks that are out in the cold this weekend in Nashville. It’d fill the seats and they’d be doing something truly Christian. Maybe $P could share some of the fruit and dessert baskets that I bet were waiting for her in her hotel room.

I used to watch that too (the lead male was very good looking imo), but all you need for the full-spectrum light is a ChromaLux or VeriLux light bulb and a lamp to put it in. The Palins are like vigilantes doing things their way until the courts tell them they can’t. The lawyer’s reasoning that Todd can be compared to Hillary/Bill, or presidential spouses is like comparing oranges to apples. The news out there that Todd was sitting in on meetings, listening to confidential State discussions, is not like a spouse setting up an office, working on their own pet projects.

A spouse should not be receiving cc’s from a number of different departmental offices.

My two cents on the emails – There is enough there to damage her for future office but we need a few really good jounalists to decide that it’s a good idea to ask for back story info and insights from the bloggers who have been doing the big work and really know this , inside and out. Some really great pieces could come out of that sort of partnership. The coverage it’s getting now is just plain flat.

Also they told people not to wear outlandish outfits saying that Obama kills babies and all that like the teapartiers usually do. So it’s kinda like a big Elks club meeting.

Todd’s role in Alaska state government does not compare with the role of the First Lady of the United States, no matter how inflated an opinion Sarah and Todd had of themselves. Even if the First Lady’s role was ceremonial, such as Jackie giving a TV tour of the White House, that is not the same thing as Todd (and Chuck Heath) being cc’d on government emails and being involved in government business.

When I think of that breathless quitter speech, and the fact that Todd had to be hauled in to make a lakeside appearance, my reaction was panic on the part of Sarah. My husband’s take on the situation was that something had come up in front of the ethics panel or some other state institution. This time, Sarah was caught at something too big to pay back (as in the case of reimbursing her kids’ travel expenses). This time the amount was so big that the deal was either pay it back or Sarah would have to resign. Mr. Lewis’ guess was that the amount (hundreds of thousands) was more than Sarah either could or wanted to pay back, and she did have all of those tempting offers to cash in. Mind you, this is just speculation, but everyone is entitled to their own wild guess.

If you want to take this scenario even further, Todd may not have been part of the decision. As First Dude he held quite a bit of power, and as the spouse of an author or speaker, it wouldn’t be quite the same. Again, just thinking out loud, but at least she didn’t use the excuse that she wanted to spend more time with her family.

Further to your great email find, here is an article with comments from Bill Arnold, President of DPC (Dubai Petroleum). The article from 2007 discusses:

“Effective April 2007, DPC will end it’s role as operator, marking the end of Dubai’s first offshore oil concession and the beginning of a new phase in which the Emirate of Dubai (government) will directly control its offshore oil resources”
    http://www.ameinfo.com/93260.html

In another issue under search of “Dubai” as I recall something about AK and Dubai but could not remember what it was, a link came up for Dubai World, which I recall last fall was in a major credit crisis. There is the matter of the Alaskan Permanent Fund having lost $430 million. In an article on Alaska Dispatch, which refers to the KTUU item, it says it could have been worse!!:

I cannot post the link to a story on KTU knowing about multiple links, so will post it in another comment below this one.

The email you posted was June 2007. The connection of DPC and Emirate of Dubai transpired in April 2007 and you add in AK’s Permanent Fund having connection to Dubai World and the large loss. Connections?

I don’t know if it is anything, but Bill Arnold is very deep in oil including the mid-East and to see his name on the emails — makes you wonder.

Just to lighten things up- a funny story about stupid things not SP :)

Leaving Childish Things on LoveJoy Avenue

I crossed the street because I was afraid. I was afraid to walk past this man in a black weather torn leather jacket who was with another woman, and a tall lanky dark tanned Indian, all three kind of sprawled on the front lawn, with their feet visiting the pavement.

The man in particular had a thick build to him, long biker hair, greasy from living outdoors, but he couldn’t have been as old as he looked. Chiseled with a charcoal dapple to his face, cut by the wind and cured by the sun.

The girl she may have been 17 or so, was freckled in the face, very course and thick hair, with the brownest eyes, and thick to the waist. Jeans and sandals, dirty white halter top, not profoundly busted, but suggestive as a woman and clearly the mate of the tall Indian who presented himself with a jean jacket, Viet Nam style- cut off sleeves, definitely had been doing road work for quite awhile.

They were drinking wine without a brown bag to hide behind. They were street people, pan handlers, pedestrians whose idea of a walk about, was to get as piss drunk as possible, as often as possible, to linger briefly for the day, and relive the first morning hour- because that was all they had left. They were to figure heavily in the direction of my life.

    Portland, Oregon, 1976.

I had just arrived from Pittsburgh on the wings of my thumb, and digging into survival mode. The first rule always, was to scope out the city, and get to know it fast. Shelter hadn’t yet become an issue because I was staying with a couple of friends who had moved out here a year ago, and were a couple of 47906 girls. Zip code for Purdue and it’s graduates.

Susan and Kathy were 23ish, totally new wave in terms of mustang freedom and new found empowerment. I had met them during my stint as a crisis center counselor back at 47906, a transitioning moment from hormones to empathy- that particular path a little cloudy at best. I had a mad crush on Susan and a twisted sense of desire for Kathy, but that was all moot, because we were spiritual and intellectual buddies, and pretty well ingrained with that “do you want to talk about it- before we do it- and are we comfortable with it” intervention mode that basically ends up being better than a condom in terms of redacting my particular gene something.

No need for a conversation here, with empowerment, familiarity, and empathy any attempt to have sex (sans some sort of spiritual commingling of fluids and religious epiphany) was locked into some undecipherable well of chastity and hopeless desperation.

Yeah, that’s how it went with Kathy and Susan. Regardless, they were friends enough to allow me to sleep on their couch for a few weeks while I got my bearings straight. It was a wonderful visit until I made a couple of mistakes in terms of judgement.

The absolute worst thing you can do as a guest and sleeping on the couch in the home of two attractive post graduate ladies, is drink a lot of beer, take up couch space which in turn leads to implied subterfuge in terms of undermining their ability to pick up other more desirable (than myself) men.

Compounding the first issue, comes the realization that I had delivered to this pair of pristine debutantes, a very nasty set of the “crabs” (an infestation harbored from the Pittsburgh fraternity house I had lived in for the six months prior), a colony of visitors that had no doubt made the couch I was sleeping in, their own particular ShangGriLa.

Even the Crisis Center had failed to prepare either of these two women with the tools, and intellectual compassion to hide the crimson venom coursing up their faces as they started to connect the dots and sequence the inevitable destination of these rather opportunistic pubic vectors, appropriately named in Latin- pubis pediculosa.

The fact that they have a Latin name implies that being diminutive does not guarantee obscurity. A Latin name means you have been doing this for awhile, and unlike the language, you aren’t quite right dead yet.

Quite the opposite… If it’s warm, moist, and furry, hey man- it’s a beach!

So… Pounding pavement before the kwell cream can work it’s magic. Lesson learned? Never admit you have the crabs.

Off to find a place to live, and the fist step was to side step the street people.

austintx – i don’t believe that pete townshend is a sex offender. this is from the smoking gun:
MAY 7–After a four-month investigation, London police today cleared Pete Townshend of kiddie porn charges. But the rock star will still spend five years on a U.K. register of sex offenders because the co-founder of The Who visited a web site containing child porn images. Townshend was nabbed in January on suspicion of possessing indecent images of children, though no such photos were found following a search of his home and computer. At the time of his arrest, Townshend admitted using his credit card to visit a web site offering child porn, but told cops he was just conducting research. Along with being placed on the sex offender registry, the performer had to submit a DNA sample to police and have his fingerprints and mug shot taken. As part of his “research project,” Townshend drafted the below six-page treatise on the easy availability of child pornography on the Internet. So easy, in fact, that Townshend, 57, wrote that he accidentally discovered a photo of a two-year-old boy being raped when he typed the words “Russia,” “orphanages,” and “boys” into a search engine. Townshend claimed that he reached for his telephone and “intended to call the police and take them through the process I had stumbled upon–and bring the pornographers involved to [jail],” but that he decided not to contact authorities after discussing the issue with an attorney. Townshend’s paper, which he once posted on his official web site, also notes that the “pathway to ‘free’ paedophilic imagery is–as it were–laid out like a free line of cocaine at a decadent cocktail party: only the strong willed or terminally uncurious can resist.” In the January 2002 porn treatise, Townshend notes that since 1997 he has been working on “some kind of document” relating to Internet porn, but that he feared being arrested by police who were on a “witch hunt” to catch anyone who visited illicit web pages: “Those vigilantes who research these pathways open themselves up to internet ‘snoops.’”

    1) neutralize the shadow governor business at the state level as no big deal. ha.

    2) says Toad “donated” his time and efforts, all for free and love to help Alaska. ha, no possibility of deal making here, it’s worse when it ALL under the table.

    3) compares them to political power couples, really? they were a power couple the day she took office? ha

    4) what does she say in Going Rogue about Toad advising or helping run the state that millions of people have read? somebody enlighten me.

    5) says his roll as spouse was “Key Advisor”. wow, isn’t that supposed to be someone who has more than a high school education and job experience in government? from a Mayor advisor running a small town, to a key Gov advisor running a huge state. It doesn’t seem right.

    6) Toad needed no wasteful entourage of people to travel with him, lol, kinda like those pesky security people who see and know things that they got rid of.

    7) He tries to nullify both “shadow and divorce” stories in one fell swoop, like both could not be true. Ha

I found this interesting…….”all, if not most”, ah…. what is it, all or most? gee that leaves room for stuff not public record or easily obtained by anyone.

Van Flea said…..”and all, if not most, was a matter of public record” and later said “largely the same information”.

And give me a break, how freaking bold to compare a Gov. first lady/dude to a Presidential first lady/dude. She thinks she’s equivalent, qualified now that she ran VP and should be in the White House dang it. She’s come a long way baby, lol. Van Flea used the term “Chief Executive” also too, lol. That title she doesn’t need anymore.

Van Flea said….”Each spouse of the chief executive is free to define his or her own role. From the policy oriented Hillary Clinton, to the more traditional and charitable work of Laura Bush, to the combined policy/traditionalist role of Michelle Obama, the first spouse takes on the duties within their interests and within the context of their marriage to the chief executive. Todd was no different.”

This is funny to me also, “the true facts”, yeppers, just cuz he a lawyer says so don’t ya know…… using in the same sentence “third party” and vague wording like “apparently”, yeah them be facts. It sounds more like made up BS that Scarah would feed her lawyer and pay him to find a way to put it out there. Yeppers. Just like she argued with Steve Schmidt about health insurance and AIP membership. Only her lawyer is willing to believe her and print her lies.

Van Flea said…..”The true facts are as follows: Todd Palin received an email from a third party (an email that was apparently making the rounds in Alaska) and he forwarded that to a state attorney on August 29, 2007.”

If it was no big deal, old news, common knowledge, whatever….why did Toad feel the need to turn it over to a state attorney? what was wrong with it? what attorney?

And I beg to differ with Van Flea saying the residents of Alaska were well aware of and knew the extent of Toad’s involvement, really? through rumors maybe, the grapevine? gee maybe a statewide poll should be taken on that line of BS.

A question, is this email tied with the other emails referring to muddying or hurting Chenalts (sp) chances of winning his senate seat? the email was about safety records…..people of Chenalt’s district wanted Scarah to use the fact Chenalt voted against a bill about BP needing to be held responsible for pipeline erosion and maintenance.

Amidst all of the stress and the hate-filled rhetoric between political factions, this storm (2 feet of snow, downed trees, etc.) has shown me that we Americans can still be thoroughly decent, thoughtful and kind people. I’m a 68 year old retired lady lawyer – who’s just barely recovered from the H1N1 flu. My next door neighbor (a staunch Dem) just came over with his chain saw to clear away some huge fallen tree branches which were blocking the front walk/door of my house, and another neighbor – the Air Force ROTC officer who teaches at Pitt, just finished shoveling my long, sloping driveway. Since I’m the local judge of elections, I happen to know that he’s a registered Republican (but his wife’s a Dem!). This is how it used to be in the USA – we had political differences which we could debate without insulting each other, and we certainly put those aside to help out those who needed it. I am teary-eyed.

Last night in Salina Kansas, a “more than 6000″ Chamber of Commerce house sold out to hear Sarah. Following speakers like GWB, Colin Powell, Joyce Brothers.
Tickets for the dinner sold for $50 to $75 dollars+ 25. People could watch the speech for $25. Palin got major applause. Probably ordinary Republicans? Net profit to organizers $50,000

Tonight she goes to Nashville, and a house of 600 (unless they haul in ringers.)
Cost, $350 or more. Maybe a cranky audience? Following crap speakers.
Net profit to organizers maybe $80,000.

    So what will Sarah learn?
Just to pick a better price point?
Or that she should not cut herself off from mainstream Republicans and just tea bag? Or vice versa? Or is it too late to for her choose?

I don’t really have a problem with a spouse having some input in government affairs.
(I hope President Obama listens to Michelle on a regular basis.)

What is so sorry here is the fierce and partisan cronyism displayed in these communications by a former governor and her family, a governor who purported to govern as a “reformer.”

This partisan, cronyism style of politics and governing is what is so disturbing about the Palins. The T-Party and wing-nut part of the Republican party are mostly about small-mindedness and divisiveness. Everywhere that Sarah speaks is with a group focused on small-mindedness and divisiveness.

I’m so proud that President Obama rises far above this kind of activity and leads through compassion and hard work on behalf of all the American people and the people of the world.

    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Imagine the storm of controversy that would erupt if Michelle Obama were as involved in running Affairs of State as Todd Palin has been.

And as you point out, she is an extremely well-credentialed and experienced lawyer.

This is all so exciting. I know a lot of you are basically subliminally aware of this, but we are all involved in something really important, and that is a new way that journalism is being done and is going to be done in the future. Rather than bloggers and commenters being competitors to journalists, we are in fact the new supporting arm of investigative journalism – when partnering with those in other forms of media who want to do the job – tell the true story – but are hampered by no support for their ideas from their management, no time, no money, their commitment to their own family and desire to spend time with them, etc.

“Boots on the Ground” is no mere moniker – it is the vital thing that will make this work. We have all been decrying “why hasn’t the MSM been covering this over the last two years?” The answer is simple. It’s the economy. No money to pay reporters to go find out the facts, especially up in Alaska, and without finding out the facts first hand, hesitant to broadcast a story that might be just a rumor.

Now, with AKM’s CabinGate story being verified by the relevent borough tax assessor (confirmed her picture was accurate, and they knew the rest of the stuff was true ’cause it came from them!) sources such as AKM have taken a big leap upwards in being considered reputable. SP can rant all she wants about anonymous bloggers, but she hasn’t ever dealt with, well, what if what they are saying is actually true?

Anyway, the more exciting thing, I think, is that with all the folks who follow the AK blogs and are up to date with what’s been going on, and especially AK residents who have been in it from the beginning, many hands make light work. If we all go over the vast e-mails and can pick out what is important and what is not, and more importantly, if you (AK’ns) can fill in the blanks about who the names are and other past histories of those names, then a story can really come together. Yes, we’re (well, more you’re) doing the journalist’s work, but I think we all know by now if we don’t, nobody will. Plus, it will make the story get out there faster, more accurately, and with more context, if people in the know can let an MSNBC or CBS or even Fox reporter know who Dan Rumplestiltskin is and what he was involved with previously, for example. Otherwise, the names in the e-mails are virtually meaningless to them. We fill in the blanks that otherwise would take them time and money to find out. And as we know, time and money is what is has traditionally taken to accurately connect the dots in a story.

This is what Sarah Palin never thought could happen. She literally failed to think someone could accurately connect the dots.

Problems is, with the new technology, and her amazingly brazen decision/ego/hubris to think she was even remotely qualified to be VP, it’s not now just one someone, but a whole lot of someones, smart someones, with fancy elite educations or just good common sense, who are using these new tools, across the country and across the world even, who are working in concert to connect those dots.

Therefore her being Assistant to the First Gentleman – is along the line of the Senior person who would take care of the house duties. When there is an event, she would organize it and be the person in charge of the other people required to carry out the event — aka the hired help. One email she asked if she should see the kids off to school in that both of them were out of town. Years ago, she would have been known as the maid. so who is Linda and Stephanie? Stephanie must have been canned early, lol.

“I misunderstood and didn’t realize the bed was already in the cedar closet. Yes, see what it would take to get the power extension there… it shouldn’t take much and should be compared to a situation such as during this renovation had we had a need for a dryer to be placed upstairs instead of in this guest bathroom- what would that extension take? I just don’t want Linda making a big deal out of this- and don’t want family requests to be made public in any way as they had through Stephanie.”

Nov. 5, 07 (she took office in Jan. 07? my parentheses below)

    Hello Governor,

Yes, I received it (the bed) and we’ll get it taken care of with the least amount of fuss .

When this phase of the plumbing project is over I had requested to have the portable W/D (washer/dryer) moved to the 3rd floor linen closet, so it shouldn’t be an issue. I apologize for involving Linda in these kinds of matters. My understanding is that she was not opposed to taking care of this; she wanted to work it so it wouldn’t appear like something out of the norm-i.e. using areas that were closest to existing 220 outlets and running the conduit from there. I think that we’re fine if we include it with the w/d on the 3rd floor.

It’s good/helpful to know how you want things handled, so I appreciate your feedback!

On a day like today-I wish the bed was ready to go for you to use right away!!
    Thanks,
    Erika

Jan 28, 08 (gosh almost two months after the bed arrives, Scarah has had to be patient)

    Hello Governor,
The two options for the tanning bed are:
    1. Install the bed in the basement next to the dryer and share the 220 outlet with the dryer. The bed would fit against the wall where the table is currently located; plugging and unplugging the bed and dryer would be necessary as an extension cord cannot be used with the 220 outlet. (TheHousekeeping table could be moved to the Kitchen Prep room.)

    2. 220 outlet in Cedar Closet (Additional breaker box to increase capacity to 3rd floor). Benefits to the House: The third floor breaker is at capacity; it would be beneficial to increase capacity for future use verses the basement where it isn’t an issue. This option would allow for additional circuit loads on the 3rd floor to install washer/dryer during phase 2 of the plumbing project. The state would pay for the replacement of the breaker box.

    Anchor Electric: Cedar Room $3,252.35

It would take 1-2 days to schedule the electrician and a few days work to have it up and running. Please advise on how you would like for me to proceed.
    Thanks,
    Erika

I think Todd is a complete chauvinist. Never in a million years would I have thought he was the one running things. No wonder Sarah’s speeches are so incoherent, she really has no idea what is going on. She just sashays around when the time in right & gives word salad speeches. It apprears this dog & pony show has been going on for years & that the Palins own an enormous amount of property & have since she was mayor.

From the conservative, but not wacky Frum Forum (a Rino of course) reporting from the tea party:

…..A Barack-Obama put-down every 60 seconds. That would be a concise way to describe the Tea Party National Convention in Nashville, which will draw to a close later today, following Sarah Palin’s keynote speech.

    http://www.frumforum.com/tea-partys-fifteen-minutes-are-up

One of the most bizarre moments of the convention came when blogger Andrew Breitbart delivered a particularly vicious fulmination against the mainstream media, prompting everyone to get up, turn toward the media section at the back of the conference room, and scream “USA! USA! USA!”…….

    Ha ha ha

    2 Questions:

Does anyone recall whether the Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute (ASMI) made any donation of food last winter to Ann, et al?

Are they a part of the Alaskan Government or are they separate or private?

I have been looking at some different emails and came across the ASMI stuff and thought interesting knowing the situation last year. The two paragraphs below set out about funding.

ASMI currently receives $lM in General Funds (AK Gov); these are used to match federal Market Access Program dollars at nearly three to one. Federal dollars fund over 60% ofour overseas marketing budget so continued funding is very necessary and a good investment

The seafood industry funds ASMI… ASMI’s core funding, over $7M, comes directly from voluntary industry assessment paid by processors. Last year the Legislature provided $lM in GF to help with marketing efforts. Federal grants and federal matching dollars make up the remainder ofour funds. Much ofthe federal dollars are going away which leaves ASMI sources limited at a time when the competition is ramping up their efforts to weaken our marketing position.

Listen, and if it fits for you watch, but we need to know what these people are doing, and why they are succeeding. If there are tips to be learned from that group it is important to know what they are saying, planning and what is happening on the inside. This night may be one of the few opportunities. It is on now.

ugh, from ocean of urine, a fan who went to the Salina speech…….he said it was heavy on details, hmmm. Funny too, he said everyone leaned forward when she started speaking, he thought it was from interest, I can only imagine it in order to figure out what the heck she is trying to say. lol

Folks, I think she’s gonna try to run…….a Fake news guy, Camron something said she has a lot of options and is the front runner.

They’re saying the email issue is silly and manufactured for ratings….. I’d like to know the first time Toad was ever referred to as her advisor.

here is what the fan wrote…….he thinks she knocked it outta the park and people off the fence, gah.

“the speech read like something of a campaign speech in disguise. Rather than explicitly saying “This is my plan for America” as a Presidential candidate would say, she was much subtler about it, instead implying it in a “This is what I think we should do” or “This is what I would do if I could” sort of manner. But truthfully, whether or not it was a campaign speech is of little importance, because in a room of 6000, I’d venture to guess she just secured 5800 votes for herself.”

“The speech was heavy on the details. Unlike some interviews on Fox or on other networks where she often simply says “We need free market solutions,” Sarah used specificity akin to that which was present in “Going Rogue,” particularly when it came to which taxes need to be eliminated and/or reduced. Same goes for the content of the energy portion of the speech.”

Prior to her appearance the people taking the mic said no need to blame, but come forward wih ideas and solutions. Why then is $P speaking since all that spews out of her mouth and rolls out of “her” pen is criticism? At least her hair was cleaner than usual and combed, including the hair extensions.

Found this link on Palingates. Very interesting email regarding people (?) making copies of computer hard drives on August 4, 2008 while Palin was in Fairbanks. She was not told ahead of time and was NOT amused.

    From Janice Mason:
“They unhooked the bedroom computer and took it to copy the hard drive. It was then returned back to the house. All of staff computers that were needed were copied over the weekend. I was told that the department of law had asked for this”

Hmmm…wonder who these mysterious people were and just what they were looking for…

Yanno, one of the teabagger complaints down in these parts is how so many of Obama’s appointees are tax cheats… how does the news of the past few days affect their view of s’error palin? Or will they again turn a blind eye to her better-than-thou way of doing things?

    ——————-

That would be incorrect in that the emails in the link are dated August, 2008 referencing an event on August 4, 2008.

MSNBC submitted a FOIA request to the state, a week after she was picked for VP candidate which was in September. Those emails are retrieved by the state off their server and then go through the system to be checked which then ends up with the numerous ones that were dedacted.

MSNBC or anyone else who submits a FOIA request does not send in a company to a personal computer to retrieve emails.
