A sell out crowd of 2,000 - 4,000 if one counts the second day - isn't enough of a draw to win any election. I do hope that this woman runs though. It would the fastest unraveling of a lying, hypocritical ex-politician in history.

Can I suggest, if you haven't already read it, catch Paul Slansky's HP article. It's the best thumbnail of Palin I've ever come across.

Hunter, Framing lumber in our country is INFINITELY sustainable, the better saw logs being 6-10 inches, and the by-products can be used for making electricity, (co-gens) bio-diesel and pellets. I AM NOT speaking old growth here. It is sustainable until Governor Palin is elected President and fulfills her campaign promise of sending her Rapture-Ready minions along their way to paradise.

The days of PUBLIC timber, at least in my neck of the woods, are over. Every time there is a sale environmentalists lock it up. The net result is hundreds of small companies have folded, leaving only the giants who own millions of acres to dominate the landscape. The small timber operator is screwed, and so are the communities that they support.

BUT that is the way it is. At least here in the PNW.

Downriver,
I built my house out of wood that I cut myself, and milled with my brother -in -law. Does that mean I think the big timber industry is all peaches and cream? No. Nor does it mean that I think big timber is all bad. Let's just look at each situation as it comes up and make reasoned decisions about what to do each time, instead of trying to either pretend any industry is all good or all bad. Some places shouldn't be logged, or mined. Some we can sacrifice. But make no mistake, the more we cut and dig, the less there is for the future. Trees don't grow overnight, and once something is mined, it isn't their for our children to dig up and use. The Earth has it's limits.

I wonder how many posters on this site who ignorantly crucify the timber industry live in wood framed homes. Hypocrites come from the left as well as the right, and after over thirty plus years in the business I can honestly tell you that some of the most environmentally conscious people in the country are in the industry. They have to be in order to sustain their livelihood.

The fascist trinity of Murdoch, Ailes & Rove are laughing all the way to the bank as their GOP pin-up doll/televangelist continues to rake in the loot, as they sell her as a modern day Esther to the proudly ignorant in twangville. The Palin sideshow is very profitable, as the newly constructed chateau on Lake Lucille (right next to the one built w/materials from white elephant sports complex, she stuck her fellow Wasilla residents w/ the bill for) Fox is installing an in-home studio, so this grifter-extraordinaire can continue to delight her deluded fans. Sadly, there is NO stopping Sarahcuda! -- Big-Oil (BP/Exxon-Mobil), major media bucks (Murdoch’s NewsCorp) and her Tawd Palin stage managed, dynamic personality will propel her right into GOP nomination…and then the real fun begins. Ck out my take on Palin-mania, and see how deep the rabbit goes http://intheknow7.wordpress.com/

to austintx:

What if Palin were black?

She'd be Angela McGowan
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sxEsY_9X8mg

John Fund:
The feisty Ms. McGlowan is a force of nature, and a direct challenge to the GOP good ol' boy network. While not conversant with the details of all issues, she is a fast learner and clearly would have national fundraising ability.

Also----Does Piper EVER go to school?
