Why won’t this woman go away? She was on Fox last night (I caught the clip on Huffpo) slamming Family Guy and Emanuel and defending Rush Limbaugh. This woman has no sense and no shame. I watched the Family Guy clip in question and can not agree with her criticism, agreeing instead with this woman: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/ellen-seidman/sarah-and-bristol-palin-s_b_464424.html .
Doesn’t Ms. Palin want Trig to be recognized for being a unique individual or does she simply want him always to be that special needs child of the former governor?
OMG @ 5, that would be B: she simply wants him “always to be that special needs child of the former governor.” It’s all about $arah. Does she even care about the dear child except as a sometimes-convenient accessory?
My high school has the most special needs students in our region, but that’s because we (students and staff) take pride in being the most inclusive high school around. We are all part of the (insert school mascot here) Nation. Several of my student library assistants have special needs. A wheelchair or a walker or vision impairment or speech impediment or Cerebral Palsy or Down’s or whatever makes some accommodations necessary, but I make accommodations for all my teenagers, for myself, and for some of the “normal” adults!
Even my most “challenged” students are computer savvy and have more refined search strategies than just “teh Google.” And $arah, they know that email and stuff that goes on-line stays there. If they don’t want folks in their business, they don’t put it out there for all the world to find.
The sad thing is that if $arah really cared and put forth just a Little Effort, she could
actually advocate for special needs children and their families. But NO, it’s all about granny blah blah. What a selfish waste.
ickickick…she burns my biscuits.
*deep, cleansing breaths*
Off to the library. Have a beautiful day, everyone.
OMG@#5 – Thanks for the link! Ya know, I’m am so tired of SP and her problems. And the way she always plays the victim. Some examples she could have handled things better – or when she should have shut up so the whole thing should have blown over:
1. The Levy posing for Playgirl: Ignore it. As it is, she made an issue of this on national TV (Oprah) – but did you hear a word out of her regarding the nude photo in Cosmo of the newly elected fellow Republican Senator from MA? The one who didn’t want her help?
2. The crib notes on the hand: If she hadn’t made such a snarky big deal out of Obama’s teleprompter, she could have just laughed this off, with a remark like “Hey, I need all the help I can get!” and let it go.
3. She backs herself into corners over nothing. She picks up on Rahm Emanuel’s behind the doors remark of last year and brings it to the forefront, calling for his resignation, for Pete’s sake.
Then she has to backtrack and forgive Rush for his remarks, which were much worse, saying it was all in good fun because it was satire.
The Olympics have been a good way to get away from all this. Those fresh young faces, good will among nations, folks striving to be the best they can – all this has been good for my soul.
LMAO they draped the upper level because it was empty.
But there was one element that Palin had to contend with on Tuesday that she rarely (if ever) did on the campaign trail: empty seats. Though the Arkansas Republican Party sold differently priced upper-level and lower-level tickets to the event at the 18,000-seat Verizon Arena, less than half of the seats in the lower bowl were occupied, and the entire upper level was shrouded by black drapes.
There was a DS girl who was in my grandson’s class. She was adored by kids all over the school and they were so helpful to her. She always had someone helping to carry her books, help with lessons, include her in activities, and she never missed any sporting events. She had a number of medical issues relating to the DS and passed away a few years ago. The school received permission from the BofE to close on the day of her funeral so students could attend and a scholarship has since been established in her name. It was always so heartwarming to see how these young people were so kind compared to the attitudes we see from some adults towards others who aren’t *just lke them*.
It’s been mentioned on several of the boards that with Bristol speaking out on the DS issue, Sarah will find a way to divert many PAC $$$ to Bristol and her LLC, as well as Sarah’s Pie in the Skye LLC, which supposedly is for disabled children and the elderly. Sure, it will look good on paper that she’s “donating to charities”, but the only ones who will benefit from those funds are the Palins.
One of the reports from last night’s speaking engagement in Arkansas said that the Verizon Convention Center holds 18,000 people, but that the whole upper level that was to go for $175 a seat was closed off with black drapes, and that the lower level with tables and chairs for $250 a ticket was only half full. Plus……..there was a last minute push to sell tickets for $20……..talk about a big discount! If I had paid $175 or $250, I’d surely want a refund.
It was hard watching the O’Reilly clips. Her eyebrows seem permanently arched (and etched) into a high spot on her forehead, her eyes continually blink, and the lips don’t move as they did in the past. Will she eventually regret that she allowed her vanity to overtake the common sense she continually spouts? She was not unattractive before, but she’s on the downhill slide now as there is no reversing whatever nips and tucks she had.
Just a reminder that there are a few families in Nunam Iqua still needing some help. If you are unable to commit to adopting a family for a number of months, please consider cash donations to one of the organizations that pack and ship foods (SPAN Alaska, Bush & Co., etc.), then Ann could determine how much to allot to those families in need. For any new viewers to this blog who want to read more and possibly donate, this is the link: http://anonymousbloggers.wordpress.com/
Now that Lent has begun, it is a good time for those who follow tradition of giving up something for the holy season to consider the amount of what they give up and donate that amount to Nunam Iqua.
I’d love to be in New Orleans for Mardi Gras………..or even in Vancouver for the Olympics. Thank goodness I have satellite television and can live vicariously through others!
THIS IS KIND OF SCARY! At first I was tickled to death to receive a letter from the State of Alaska with Sean Parnell’s name at the top.
It turned out to be a notification that if you had once contributed to the state retirement system, and had withdrawn funds when they left the state, that you could put those funds back into the system if you became re-employed by the state.
My first thought was that this is a long time to keep me in their records. I left that job in 1979. Then I got to thinking – it’s been 30 years, and since that time I have made 4 moves (one within AK, one to FL and then two within the same town in GA). Where in the world did they come up with my P.O. Box #? Could they have traced it though my SS#? Is this info just handed out? This was a situation that was not threatening, but informative, but it still makes me a little nervous. Did anyone else receive such a letter?
Granny, no problem. I wonder who paid her 100k fee if they sold only about 1/4 of the seats?
RE the DS discussion, I didn’t think the clip was particularly funny, nor unfunny. It wasn’t about Trig, and, in fact, it was presenting a DS woman as being in charge, actually normal except for the speech. I took it as a ribbing at Palin for being so demanding, and queen like….hold my chair, etc, that even her offspring had absorbed those parts of her character. What I see now with all the “feigned outrage” (as I see it), of Palin and some others….now no one is even supposed to say the words “down syndrome”, or worse yet, use the actual speech of a person with DS. Why not? She certainly exploits the condition of her poor kid. I say “poor kid”, not because he has DS, but because she is his mother, and exploits him.
Does she even care about the dear child except as a sometimes-convenient accessory?
That’s IT in a nutshell – Trig is an accessory to be waved in front of the public when her agenda of the day is “special needs”!
I hope your students know how lucky they are! I am reminded of the teachers we had who pushed and expected us to work hard. We grumbled and complained about them yet they are the outstanding teachers we remember as being the best even forty years later!
The saddest thing I can think of with Granny Grifter’s children is that there are no expectations there. The bar for her children is so low. Mediocrity is acceptable. That is tragedy.
And I wonder if Trig will ever get an education. If Piper is any example of actual school attendance, I’m skeptical. And the kid needs this special kind of education, not home schooled.
There are clips from her visit to O’Reilly last night. She strongly advocated that birthers, nazis, baggers, etc maintain their first amendment rights. In the same show, true to form, Sarah contradicts herself by complaining when cartoon and a political figure (only the one she doesn’t fear) exercise first amendment rights. And who couldn’t forget her attacks on a comedian this summer. Duplicity is thy middle name, Sarah!
On a happier note, I recently reconnected with an old friend, and learned that she’s not just “politically aware” but is actually doing something about it! (I’m so proud of her!)
She’s running for the Ohio State Senate! (“Lee For Senate” on Facebook) On today’s post, she mentions something about “fake Census forms”… apparently a ruse for fundraising. There’s a link there to the article about it.
We’re past the Monday angst, so have a happy Tuesday!
Watched the O’Rielly show last night—-same ole same ole Sarah.
Still knocking Emanuel and taking his remark out of context. On the other hand, she defends Rush. O’Rielly acted like she was pushed on his show, and had a hard time getting a straight answer on his questions.
Bill Maher had a few choice words about Congress on the Larry King show.
He could be right about the Senator from Indiana who is not running again.
Bill says he will probably be a lobbyist. Bottom line—-It’s all about money.
Thatcrowowman: Is it curious that she is NOT doing more to advocate for the disabled. She would get massive points for it. All those desparate to fawn over her would have a whole new reason to swoon.
She should push legislative ideas to help DS kids so families don’t choose to terminate, so there would be assistance for them.
I received one of those letters also at my current address. I left State employment in 1984 and left AK in 1991. I believe our SSN was used to run a credit check or Nexis-Lexis was used to obtain current address.
Johnny says “I say “poor kid”, not because he has DS, but because she is his mother, and exploits him.”
——–
I couldn’t agree with you more – what a poor excuse for a mother! I wasn’t offended by the clip either. Sarah has shown from the start that she is a thin-skinned person, always playing the victim, and has to jump on every little perceived affront to her. She is always determined to have the last word and make it look like everyone except her is wrong, hateful, etc., etc.
I watched the O’Reilly clip and he seemed bored on one hand, and annoyed on the other with her continual interruption. From the previous times I’ve watched him, he hasn’t taken kindly to interruptions and has made that clear. Did someone put a rein on him where Palin is concerned, or does he just feel she isn’t worth wasting the effort?
She still bashes President Obama for the ONE time he made a comment about the Special Olympics, and it was a dig aimed at himself for his poor bowling skills. Yet she doesn’t tell the whole story, simply points her finger with the few words to make him look like a slimeball.
The Teabaggers have been unhappy with Sarah for backing McCain and Rand Paul. With her comment of last evening that there shouldn’t be a third party, but they should join with either R or D, preferably R, I wonder how many more will jump off the Palin bandwagon by the end of the day. No more than she deserves – she’s played them for $$$ and now that the wells are running dry, she’s changing direction.
I know I’m not a fan, but Sarah Palin is becoming more of a nasty, finger pointing, complaining, whiner than she was during the campaign last year. Every time I listen to her, I hear vileness and vindictiveness. It’s no wonder that many are using the “b” word to describe her these days instead of “I’m sure she’s a nice lady”, which she is proving herself not to be in the least. The old term “nasty piece of work” comes to mind as well as some less flattering labels.
Watch Rachel methodically and politely take Glenn Beck apart and hand him his ass. She owns him at the end when she tells him to “back off”. I loves Rachel !! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OXwOv9MAHcI
by bigcheese0001 February 17, 2010 2:21 AM EST: “So once again she uses her family to validate her point. Can I do that. I am a purple heart infantry veteran from the Iraq War, I have a family member that is mentally challenged. I disagree with everything she says. Every point she makes has nothing to do with her. When I swore my oath to serve my country, my president, ect. I did, even when I disagreed. As the Commander in Chief, highest military post, of her state Governor Palin prematurely ended her oath over a year before her commitment. If I did that, hello Prison. For no ones benefit but hers and her new employer Fox News. As she talks about supporting troops she abandoned every soldier serving in the Alaska Reserves and National Guard. Why? I don’t know. Do you. I will and have put my life on the line for my oath. What was her reason to abandon her oath?”
On BOR Palin was full of all that crap about elites, the media, but she doesn’t mention the thoughtful conservatives like KP. She didn’t answer any of BOR’s questions, just ranted on and on. As someone else mentioned I think he must be under orders to coddle her. And, I notice that BOR never mentions the use of “retarded” by Beck, nor of course does Palin.
Ho hum, I wonder what she’ll do for publicity tomorrow?
{Giggle}. But, sadly that google search probably really happened.
That Bill O discussion with SP really showed her lack of insight. SP’s non-answers to his questions about the teabag movement made Bill’s expression look like, WTH? I think the high-ranking Fox producers are aware of her fakery, but use it to boost their ratings. To them, it’s a sideshow of “Can you believe this?”
And, the mention of both her children’s names; she agrees to speak about the “Family Guy” topic, which only brings more attention on her “family” which she pretends all she wants is for the media to leave them alone. It’s a sorry sad situation when a mother uses her adult daughter as a political tool. Using her daughter’s name on her facebook, to be read by millions, inviting her daughter to make a statement on Sarah’s political venue. Not counseling her, as a caring mother, that it would be wiser to send her displeasure to the writers. Doesn’t mother Sarah have clout now with Fox insiders? Now, her daughter is going to be the target of mocks and jaunts, jabs, and late-night talk shows. Having her daughter’s name spread nationally, internationally through the mud, just so mother Sarah can be justified and made to look like a saint in the eyes of her adoring fans. Disgusting.
What a joke! Palin, a millionaire Republican, lecturing “real” Americans in Arkansas on the benefits of small government/tax cuts for the rich. If only the much maligned Blue State Socialists didn’t have to bear the burden of subsidizing the ungrateful Patriots of Arkansas!
I feel so sorry for Trig…not because he is handicapped, but he will never have the support from that family to work with him and support him and DRIVE him to succeed!
I’ve been handicapped since ’46 when I had polio. It affected my whole right side, but my right hand the most paralysized. They had fitted me with braces and my mom said “she will not wear braces”! 4 times a day for 6 years she made me do the those damn exercizes needed to keep my muscles working, had tendon transplant in my hand and had the self-determination that NOTHING would keep me from doing what everyone else did! My mother died when I was 15 and had to take over being Lady of the house! Was in a head-on car accident and was thrown from the back seat, thru the windshield and snapped back, compressing 2 vertebrae in half. Was told I would never walk again. I didn’t have a mother to make me push on but I did learn to walk again! Went into nurses training and was the one they called out at 3 am to do the emergency surgeries because I was ambidextrous and could pass instuments to our then right and left handed surgeons…when I passed instruments…they knew they were correct and they snapped in their gloved hands! I didn’t want anyone to think of me as handicapped.
Now at age 70, I have to use a walker to get around and am loosing the use of both of my hands from post-polio syndrome, disintegrating spine, and chemo and radiation from breast cancer. My husband has had cancer of every bone, both kidneys and brain and has had 9 strokes. He is at home and I care for him 24/7 . Have a huge garden and can over 200 quarts of goodies every year. For the first time in my life I now have home health care for him and a cleaning woman. I can no longer sew , paint, reupholstered our furniture but do the cooking, washing and ironing. I have always been clumsy and drop things and my husband would say, “Hire the handicapped, we are fun to watch!” He is left handed and struggled in the right-handed world! We learned to laugh at ourselves, pick up and carry on! Will Trig learn these steps to survive in life? I doubt it unless there is an invervention on his behalf…it did take a village to get me to where I could survive in a very cruel world and many loving, caring friends and family. God blessed me with a good mind but Trig has been short cut there too. Hopefully, this wonderful group of people on these blogs will be the driving force to help this child get the help he needs. The other children are just as handicapped with that mother. Saarah, please go home and take care of these children…they need you now. And please get some help for yourself, you are more handicapped than them.
rebekkah @39 – As I mentioned in an earlier post and have seen it mentioned several times on other blogs, the belief is that Sarah can divert some of her PAC money to Bristol and her LLC, as well as sarah’s pie skye because they are addressing the issue of disabilities/DS/etc……the supposed purpose of her pie skye llc. It makes sense that she would do anything to make use of the money for her own (and her families) purposes – and she can get away with it legally – and that’s the disgusting part!
The Anchoress article mentions the guy who grew up with a DS child and that EVERYONE treated him like everyone else. I had an aunt who was DS and same thing – she was treated like the rest of us, whether it was for doing chores, getting praise, getting scolded – family rules applied to all fair and square. That is as it should be, yet I doubt Palin will ever allow the boy to develop with any sense of normalcy and exposure to regular people and activities.
I can’t get over her thinking she can always call for someone to be fired, like she really has some pull or credibility. She is getting harder and harder to watch as the changes from her facelifts/botox/whatever continue to distort her features.
Mrs. Gunka @41 – What an inspiration you are to so many! You have been through trial by fire over and over and have come out of it a bigger and stronger person. If only Sarah could be exposed to more people like you……….and take the advice………..her little guy (and maybe her other children) would have a better stake in life.
Poor poor Trig will never know dignity. He is destined to spend his life wrapped in the ignorance of a family that pities him. Trig, the precious iconic angel is no such thing. His preciousness emanates from being another human being with potential not from his “handicap”.
Sarah Palin is in no way ennobled by having given birth to him any more than I am for having given birth to children. She is a terrible mother and an embarrassment to women everywhere.
Actions speak louder than words as my mother used to say.
I caught a little of O’Really and $’error trying to seriously discuss the carton show, the Family Guy. Yeah, that’s real presidential of her. I can’t wait until Obama starts giving us a recap of the latest Bugs Bunny or Three Stooges re-broadcast.
So it’s OK if Rush Limbaugh uses the “R” word but, not OK if a carton does? It only makes sense if one considers Rush a big fat joke, which is exactly what I think of him.
Mrs. Gunka -
Thank you for sharing your story here. You obviously have gotten up everyday with grace and determination and forged ahead.
And all the while , sarah spews her whiney , dopey , and pathetic tripe.
Thank you again.
Mrs. Gunka – you & your husband should be the poster child for personal responsibility because the current poster child – SP – espouses these values but evidently doesn’t live by them.
I’m thankful that you have many people in your family, friends and community willing and able to lend you a helping hand.
I’ve never understood the American conservative ideology that getting help from the government, social welfare groups or community groups constitutes socialism and why socialism has become such a dirty word among American conservative circles. When did this happen??
Call me naive – but I honest to goodness thought that when people realised just how many Americans were suffering & dying under the current free market model of health insurance that reform would be a clear necessity and that some sort of public model needed to come into play. I was very surprised at the collective freak-out from the Right and the howls of “socialism”.
I loved my “socialist” government healthcare in Australia! I wish Americans could have the same. =)
I think you’ve hit the nail on the head. SP does pity Trig. She doesn’t seem him as a normal child with a disability but has potential just like every other child. She seems him as “Poor Trig, he’s damaged.” I can honestly relate to a mother’s instinct to protect her child but what Palin is doing is nothing of the sort. She is using Trig to polish her pro-life, family values credentials. If she were serious about protecting Trig, she would have stood up to Rush Limbaugh and I for one, would have applauded her for it.
She is such a fake and poor Trig has to bear the brunt of her neglect of him as a mother.
“A Tea Party movement taps all the vague, inchoate resentment out there, pulls all the cranks out of the woodwork, co-opts the genuine (i.e., Ron Paul type) libertarians, and continues to sucker the culturally-conservative working class red stater upon whose vote Republicans have long depended; righteous and legitimate anger at a deserving target is thus turned into an irrational mob aimed by the original target; the result is an American Freikorps under the command of the empty-headed Sarah Palin…”
Mrs. Gunka – Your post made me realize something about the Flats –
It reminded me of the stories of personal struggle that many others have shared here. Big time life hurdles have been faced or are being faced by quite a number of Mudpups – physical handicaps, emotional struggles, financial hardship, debilitating illness, the tragic loss of loved ones, children falling ill or being hospitalized , etc. Stories and situations are talked about here in varying amounts of detail but never ONCE have I EVER heard anyone play the victim.
$P doesn’t have a clue about adversity or struggle and yet since the moment she stepped on to the stage at the RNC she’s been crying about how cruel the world is to her. The media, the liberals, the bloggers, the Trig haters, the Christian haters, Obama, Couric, and now, even her own employer. O woe is $arah.
She wouldn’t know what to do with a truly tough battle. Even a slightly tough one. “Real Americans” face adversity with strength, maybe a bit of humor, and we keep on going. If we stumble a bit along the way, we get back up when we can and get started again. I don’t see an ounce of that in $P. She couldn’t handle one day trading places with some of the wonderful people I know and this makes her victim routine especially sickening.
Anyway, I was going somewhere with this but have forgotten where I was planning to land! Just pretend I ended it with something spot on.
I have a family member very similar to SP when it comes to information processing. The only way I can describe it is: it’s as if FMs brain is like a honeycomb; a complete unit, but consisting of individual, distinct clusters of designated compartments, and *within that*, individual, distinct compartments. Whatever FM hears, reads, ‘understands’, or thinks of, *FIRST* goes into one of those clusters/compartments, never to budge.
Now, in *most* people, there is ‘cross indexing’ between the [illustrative] honeycomb compartments ~ what’s been stored in one compartment is weighed against/compared to what’s been stored in another. If it’s found that information in ‘compartment A’ is incompatible with information in ‘compartment B’, the contents of one or the other is jettisoned/supressed…or at least modified, so the ‘correct’/revised information comes to the fore.
IOW, for *most* people, any *subsequent* information entering the honeycomb is used as a tool to either shore up/support or dismantle/negate what has already been put into a compartment. There’s an elasticity, a fluidity, in information processing. For my FM, there is none – what FM “knows”, FM knows!… and that’s all there is to it.
The ‘information’ arriving *FIRST* (whether it’s been read, heard, thought of, and/or ‘understood’), is what FM clings to with bulldog tenacity…and with *complete* disregard for information that might (as it invariably must!) arrive later ~ it’s as if there are only so many compartments ‘allowed’ for storage of information on any given topic/issue; once those compartments are full (with whatever has arrived *first*), that is what FM “knows.”
Any and *all* ‘information to the contrary does NOT register; there’s a barrier ‘preventing’ the honeycomb’s cluster of compartments dedicated to a given topic/issue, from: a) uprooting ‘old’ information for new [in the cluster/compartments], and/or, b) modifying old [already compartmented] information *in light of* new. You can go point-by-point with FM to [gently] refute what FM ‘knows’ AND FM will *fully* agree with the validity of each point; will discuss with you how logical the refuting points are and will go even further by providing additional points to *reinforce* [the impression] that FM has ‘gotten it.’
You think all is well and good…they’ve *finally* discarded the bunk in favor of the non-bunk. HA! What a mistake that thought is! FM turns around, and accessing what was *first* placed in their weird little ‘compartment(s)’/cluster, continues to ‘know’ that. ONLY!
FM sees NO hypocrisy in ANY of [FMs] words, deeds, thoughts, and/or actions. Since FM is incapable of critical analysis (or *any* analysis) of ‘information’ stored *first* in the compartment/cluster of compartments, FM is also utterly incapable of ‘cross indexing’/analyzing *different* compartments/clusters in the honeycomb, one with the other, for their compatibility. Thus, in FMs world, there is NO hypocrisy –ever!– *BY* FM…and can never be. FMs compartmentilization of information/clusters of compartmented ‘information’ precludes *FMs* hypocrisy…*others*
For those of us having to put up with FMs ‘information processing’ abilities –more specifically, the lack thereof–, it’s frustrating as hell. SPs similar ‘information processing’ abilities, is equally as frustrating. beth.
ooops – hit ‘submit’ instead of ‘caps off’…
the line should be: “FMs compartmentilization of information/clusters of compartmented ‘information’ precludes *FMs* hypocrisy…*others* might be hypocritical, but FM is *never* hypocritical. b.
Yesterday the Tea party people officially became a political party in Nevada. They filed a certificate of existence along with their preamble. This will probably guarantee that Reid will win. It’s possible they want him to win. In my opinion, Many of the people that are running Republican will switch parties after they are Elected; they need the existence of a Tea party to join; for some reason they picked the Nevada race.
Their core of principals are fiscal libertarian, pro-guns, anti-immigration,
pro-capitalist. It sounds like they would definitely eliminate Medicare, Social Security and almost all social programs since the creation of the Constitution. They Don’t mention abortion but they do say and I quote: “ Above all that people are best Served by government that seeks to stay out of their life as much as possible and that individuals should be give the freedom to make their own choice”. Sounds like That could be used to say they are pro-choice; I am sure they aren’t. I also think That they may choose Palin to run as their presidential candidate. This may sound the death knell of the Republican party as we know it. I don’t think that their platform will appeal to a lot of the independents that support the Tea party; they will gain all of the Libertarians, the conservative Democrats and Republicans; most Social Security recipients should be against this Tea party.
Jim Keating – It would be interesting to see how Palin’s stump speeches will be contrasted with the stated objectives of the Nevada Tea Party seeing as she is pretty much the polar opposite of what they stand for. Plus – her record in Alaska as governor is hardly one of fiscal conservative. There’s evidence that the true Ron Paul Libertarian do not see Palin as their spokesperson and in fact see her as just another establishment Republican trying to hijack their movement.
Buffalogal @ 52 – SP whines about the cruelties of the world that we ALL have/had to face at some point in our lives AND she has more money than MOST people. She makes more with one hour’s work ($100,000) than a VAST majority of (real) Americans. However, she continues to whine. I would say that most Americans get tired of whiners eventually. So let her whine – let’s see how long it takes before she gets on everybody’s last nerve. With a platform on Fox, she is sure to annoy so many more people each day.
Changing to something positive (so I won’t be addressing anything to do with Ms. Palin), independent analysis proves that the administration’s Stimulus is working, having already created 1.6 million jobs and on its way to creating at least another million:
aussiegal:
There are two tea parties one is grass roots the other is the money people
who plan on creating a new party. They know this is the perfect opportunity
since public opinion is anti-incumbent. The later is the in my opinion the
pro-Palin faction.
Mrs. Gunka @41 – What an inspiration so many of our young people forget about that type of inspiration and need to be reminded of what can be overcome.

tigerwine……So the State of Alaska has the capability to use their computer systems and technology to track you all the way back to 1979….. BUT can’t retrieve some ‘ current emails’ from only a year ago in a timely fashion.
I smell a big pile of Moose nuggets.
Maybe you should file a FOIA request for some emails..? They seem to have caught up and the systems are working fine now. Just saying….
In Palin’s interview with BOR, I found one of her statements quite telling about the Real Sarah Palin. Paraphrasing: I will continue to advocate passionately for special needs children – whenever I’m asked to.
Wow. Such passion. Whenever you’re asked to, Sarah? Where’s all that passion the rest of the time – tucked away in your carry-on bag of political accessories?
If advocating for SN children weren’t such a worthwhile endeavor, I wouldn’t care about her hypocrisy on the issue, but she is uniquely positioned to do some real and lasting good for that cause, and continues not only to squander the opportunity but to demean the issue by reducing it to a political trinket – a bumper sticker on the Palin bus. Her only passion is the bottom line of her hollow Sarah, Inc. brand, and genuine charitable advocacy is, to that end, a waste of her time. She’s the penultimate dilettante, and I can easily imagine that she is drawing growing resentment among the community of sincere SN advocates. In the realm of advocacy, just as in the realm of politics, she is willing to grab the attention, steal the credit, and run off with the money – all the while doing none of the work and contributing nothing of value.
Desert, she needs to have a “patriot” ask for help.
Aside from this, I wonder why there was no discussion, none that I saw anywhere on the web about her saying that “Alaska supplies 20% of America’s energy”. She said that at the “corporate” tea party in Nashville.
lilybart, yes she said that, although I just can’t bring myself to go back to listen again to tell you when she said it. But my ears definitely perked up and I was surprised none of the columnists mentioned it. Too many lies to pay attention to just one, I guess.
By the way, AKM, what are you going to do with your copy of GR? I think you should sign it, then auction it off and donate the proceeds to a family in Nunam Iqua. I’d bid!
“Did OSarah bin Retarded have crib notes on her hand again?”
Hahahahaha !!
Commenter at thinkprogress on sarah at the Arkansas soiree yesterday.
“See, they said that, I didn’t,” she said. “Just you watch now, too, because somebody will be here with their little Twittering thing, and it’s going to be on the Internet any minute now.“
quote: There’s a word for those who, like Palin, act as if the voters are mere sheep who don’t need to be troubled by discussion of what their government should actually do. The word — and Palin might want to cover her ears — is elitist. :end quote
I wanted to put a few links down for someone who might want to put together an article or message about the controversy over the photo of President Obama sitting at his desk with his feet up.
think a post about the the complaints of President Obama putting his feet up on the Resolute desk would be intesting.I wanted to send you some links in case you do too.
I saw her on a cable news talk show this past week and she was saying how she has a stalker and she that she never tweets about where she’s going to be until she’s already been there (as a precaution), THEN next sentence is btw, I’m going to be appearing at such and such a place on this day in the near future.
I too have wondered why Palin hasn’t gotten more involved with real advocating for special needs children in particular and people with disabilities in general. One theory that makes considerable sense to me is that many right wingers consider disability issues a liberal cause because much of it is about getting government funding. We know nothing about what services Trig is getting. Is that because they are government services? If the Palins were insisting on paying for services out of their own pockets we would surely be hearing about it!
If any of you have seen the OReilly-Palin interview where BOR asks palin about extremists in the teabagger movement, and palin just brushes it away, here is a link to a HufPo article of a tea party event in which a speaker asks for the dem senator Patty Murray to be hanged.

… messin’ with the tennessee guerilla women who were messin’ with Tina Fey:
LiVo
If every woman who thinks it’s okey dokey to bash Palin would read this, I might still have actual democrat friends. As it is, anyone who bought into the “rape kit” meme, among others, can suck it. Unfortunately, most of my women friends were too lazy to think for themselves and prefered to swallow the Obama/DNC talking points hook, line and sinker. Sheeple. Still, they think they’re super savvy about politics. They don’t have to show me who they are or what kind of “feminists” they are twice.
Fey lost my respect when she snubbed Palin on the SNL set. It was and is waaaaaay personal for her, as evidenced by the mean-spirited nature of her remarks, something I don’t recall Dana Carvey doing toward Bush the Elder, or any of the other comedians who portray politicians, for that matter.

Maybe Tina Fey can’t stomach Sarah Palin… or, was afraid she’d catch faux.

Okay that was great. But I could have done without Dueling Banjos. Just some scenes from a certain movie that I don’t wish to revisit.

Great post, thatcrowwoman!
Thanks, Mudpups!
LMAO they draped the upper level because it was empty.
But there was one element that Palin had to contend with on Tuesday that she rarely (if ever) did on the campaign trail: empty seats. Though the Arkansas Republican Party sold differently priced upper-level and lower-level tickets to the event at the 18,000-seat Verizon Arena, less than half of the seats in the lower bowl were occupied, and the entire upper level was shrouded by black drapes.
http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2010/02/17/politics/main6215033.shtml
OOPS! Johnny and I were posting same thing at same time! Sorry for the duplication!
Did anyone else receive such a letter?
biscuits still smoldering, so let me get this off my chest before I go…

This video is perfect in the way it captures how superficial Sarah is.
#6 @ (((thatcrowwoman)))
But NO.

I found this comment over on reddit.
by bigcheese0001 February 17, 2010 2:21 AM EST: “So once again she uses her family to validate her point.

An interesting and spot on take from a righty website.
That Righty website was interesting, but stupid in the end, claiming that Palin w/o makeup and hair looks like DEM political women.
The GOP loves to say that DEM women are unattractive. That shows their basic lack of respect for women of course, but it isn’t in any way true!
FOX hires bimbos because the GOP is a sexist organization, not because all GOP women are babes.
The Righty entry was indeed interesting, but it missed another possible response.
Nothing.
Because, you know, not everything has to be about HER.
Do any of Y’All know what Scott Richter does other than co-own properties with the Palin’s. He wouldn’t be an accountant would he?
A comment from a Huffpo story about Palin called her “the Tanya Harding of politics”. Brilliant!
Ripley@ 29 – Good one!
Flying Pig Ranch, Brad Hanson might be an accountant.

I googled “Scott Richter Alaska” , and all kinds of stuff popped up. This picture that is with an article is funny. Sure wish Bea was around……..

HAHAHHA that was cool =)
And so is this: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/02/16/sarah-palin-responds-to-f_n_464939.html
So let’s get this straight, kids:
Rahm Emanuel = Used R word, terrible, should resign + gives bad advice to President
Rush Limbaugh = Used R word, in SATIRE! therefore AWESOME! Repeatedly wishes President would fail but still….AWESOME!
The Family Guy= Used R word, in SATIRE! therefore terrible and should apologise
The hypocrisy comes full circle on national TV. Well done, Sarah, you have reached a new low, even for you.
I never heard of the “family guy” before that’s the funny thing…now they’ll get a lot more attention. Did anyone read the Kathleen Parker column that came out about a week ago? http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/02/12/AR2010021204006.html
Disgusting.
Arkansas Welfare Queens
Mrs. Gunka…well said.
Mrs Gunka, I wish I could come over and help you put up tomato relish! Thank you for a lovely and moving post.
Mrs. Gunka @41 – What an inspiration you are to so many! You have been through trial by fire over and over and have come out of it a bigger and stronger person. If only Sarah could be exposed to more people like you……….and take the advice………..her little guy (and maybe her other children) would have a better stake in life.
(((Mrs. Gunka)))
I ♥ You and your wonderful husband!
@46 LiladyNY:
I found this essay fascinating, especially if you follow the links.
http://www.sadlyno.com/archives/28476.html
“A Tea Party movement taps all the vague, inchoate resentment out there, pulls all the cranks out of the woodwork, co-opts the genuine (i.e., Ron Paul type) libertarians, and continues to sucker the culturally-conservative working class red stater upon whose vote Republicans have long depended; righteous and legitimate anger at a deserving target is thus turned into an irrational mob aimed by the original target; the result is an American Freikorps under the command of the empty-headed Sarah Palin…”
YEEEEEEEEGAAAAAAAAAHHHHH…..
Gotta go comb my hair back down. Later, gators.
I’ll be wandering off now thata way ———- >
I have a family member very similar to SP when it comes to information processing.
SPs similar ‘information processing’ abilities, is equally as frustrating. beth.
Oh, that video just made my day. Thanks, AKM!
ooops – hit ‘submit’ instead of ‘caps off’…
the line should be: “FMs compartmentilization of information/clusters of compartmented ‘information’ precludes *FMs* hypocrisy…*others* might be hypocritical, but FM is *never* hypocritical. b.
Mrs. Gunka, you are my hero!
Times are a changing!
Palin), independent analysis proves that the administration’s Stimulus is working, having already created 1.6 million jobs and on its way to creating at least another million:
http://www.nytimes.com/2010/02/17/business/economy/17leonhardt.htm
This is (or at least was) the lead story on the Huffington Post as well.
Beth..oh so RIGHT-ON..the lil honeycomb compartments..in those who cannot..’cross ref.’ and continualy evaluate..sigh..you understand!
@ Mrs. Gunka ~ you make me such a better person for ‘knowing’ you. Thank you! beth.

————————-
tigerwine……So the State of Alaska has the capability to use their computer systems and technology to track you all the way back to 1979…..
Desert Mudpup: Good Catch!
And if you pay me to come….
Johnny: Is she back using THAT LIE again?
Guess next we will hear how she said no to that Bridge to Nowhere.
Desertmudpup:What was she asked a handler, “My brand, it’s hair UP and Retard in arms, right?”
lilybart, yes she said that, although I just can’t bring myself to go back to listen again to tell you when she said it.

“Just you watch now, too, because somebody will be here with their little Twittering thing, and it’s going to be on the Internet any minute now.“
Dang !! She is one sto-o-opid idiot.

quote: There’s a word for those who, like Palin, act as if the voters are mere sheep who don’t need to be troubled by discussion of what their government should actually do. The word — and Palin might want to cover her ears — is elitist. :end quote

I wanted to put a few links down for someone who might want to put together an article or message about the controversy over the photo of President Obama sitting at his desk with his feet up.
think a post about the the complaints of President Obama putting his feet up on the Resolute desk would be intesting.I wanted to send you some links in case you do too.

way OT, even for open thread…not about AK, palin, or politics of any kind.
Kim Kardashian is a moron!
http://news.cnet.com/8301-17852_3-10455127-71.html

I’m still waiting for palin to say something. Is this, for palin, just someone expressing her first amendment right ?
I saw somewhere in a comment that she was referred to the Quarter Gov as the other quarter to the Toad. Spot on
Democratic Senators who have so far signed on to passing a Public Option through the reconciliation process -
Jeff Merkley (D-Ore.)
Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio)
Michael Bennet (D-Col.)
Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.)
Bernie Sanders (I-VT)
Al Franken (D-Minn.)
Pat Leahy (D-VT)
John Kerry (D-Mass.)
Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI)
Why isn’t Mark Begich on the list? Isn’t the latest round of rate-hikes (as high as 39%) evidence enough? If not, what’s it going to take?
