Palin Spokeswoman Meg Stapleton Resigns!

Well, it looks like the inner sanctum just got a little less populated.
There aren’t many of the old gang from Alaska left. Politico reports this morning that Sarah Palin’s most visible henchperson Meghan Stapleton has inflated a life boat and leaped over the side of the S.S. Palin “to spend more time with her family.”
It’s here that we should invite our sad violinist to come and play some background music while we remember Meg “Stapletongue” with all the reverence and heartfelt whatever that she so richly deserves. Get your hankies ready.
Meg Stapleton… She came to Alaska from the east coast to seek her fortune. A Georgetown grad who had worked in DC with the likes of famous former jew counter and dog barbequing GOP fundraiser Fred Malek, she sought her destiny in the Last Frontier.
Meg quickly became one of Alaska’s most trusted and beloved anchorwoman on the local NBC affiliate, KTUU Channel 2 News. She did manage to literally get “run over by a reindeer” while wearing a Santa suit on live TV one year at Christmas, but other than that, her life was filled with all the good things you might expect from being a local beloved talking head in one of the country’s smallest but most interesting media markets.
And then Sarah Palin happened. The governor actively courted the “head” and eventually won her over to the dark side, also known as the Palin administration. In 2008, the relationship was fully consummated and “Meg Stapletongue” was born. The shackles of “objective journalism” were cast off. Once her boss was tapped as the VP candidate, the rules of the game changed. In fact the rule book was tossed on the barbeque and “The Truth Squad” was unleashed on the Alaskan people. McCain’s campaign, beginning to realize that they had nominated someone that was not only utterly unqualified, but also in the middle of a devastating political scandal at home, sent in the troops. High powered former terrorism lawyer Ed O’Callaghan winged his way north in the night, and joined Stapleton in a series of press conferences that left Alaskans slack-jawed. The Commissioner of Public Safety that Palin had dismissed for not firing her ex-brother in law State Trooper Mike Wooten was verbally disemboweled. Alaska Democrats who had been the ones responsible for ushering through both gas line and oil tax legislation (AGIA and ACES) that Palin was later to wear like peacock feathers in her cap were similarly skewered. There were charts with circles and arrows showing Alaskans exactly how these Democrats were connected to … (wait for it) … Barack Obama. Oh, the horror!
The team led by O’Callaghan took over the Alaska Department of Law like parasites in suits, doling out legal advice despite their lack of legal authority to practice law in the state, and provoking the ire of the state and its residents. And Stapleton was out front leading the parade, holding the Palin flag, and being the “familiar and trusted face” to convince us that the brown stuff smeared on top of the campaign cupcakes was really frosting. Stapleton, unrelenting when confronted with her bad behavior was even caught on camera unrepentant and hostile to one of the very Democratic legislators who helped usher Palin’s programs through the legislature.
Rallies were held in which protesters held signs showing their disdain and contempt for the once-beloved talking head who had now been reduced to just the tongue part - “Stapletongue,” “Staplegun,” “Meg the Mouth,” and if said with enough loathing in the voice, just “Meg” was enough to raise the arm hair of Alaskans who had once respected, and even liked her.
The largest protest was held in mid-September of 2008 when the campaign was in full swing. “Clearly, this is an Obama rally and nothing else,” she spun like a top. O’Callaghan and his legal goons were eventually driven out of the state, but Meg remained and Alaskans never forgot or forgave. The next year brought a series of press releases, official statements, and emotional screeds penned in a proprietary blend of bile, venom and the blood of the innocent. Levi Johnston honed his acting skills by lying, photoshoppers engaged in desecration of sacred icons, and any citizen who dared to file an ethics complaint against the governor was a hating hater who found themselves called out by name and condemned by the office of the governor. The haters just seemed to keep coming out of the woodwork. and Meg was always ready with a giant can of verbal Raid.
But always, she was by the governor’s side. She renewed old ties with Fred Malek in D.C. and got Sarah invited to the prestigious Alfalfa Club Dinner, she organized Palin’s visit to her home town of Auburn New York to lead the Seward’s Day parade, she winged her way to the undisclosed location in San Diego and hung out while ghost writer Lynn Vincent tried to take dictation for Palin’s memoir Going Rogue. She was the proverbial sidekick, the loyal rabid lapdog, Palin’s #2. 
So disliked was she, even nationally, that she received third place in the 2008 “Muddy Awards” on this very blog, coming in a close third behind Palin herself, and First Dude Todd Palin.
But, it’s always a matter of time with Palin’s inner sanctum. One by one, they fall by the wayside, either frozen out, ignored until they quit, thrown overboard in the night, or publicly chucked under the bus like human speed bumps. Campaign supporters, loyal friends, her former chief of staff, her former legislative director, her trusted inner-sanctum go-to guy, commissioners of various stripes, the Democrats who helped her pass the only memorable legislation she ever had - all gone and forgotten; all relegated to the dustbin of Palin history, sucked dry, used up and traded in.
Stapleton said she resigned to spend more time with her husband and 2-year-old daughter, Isabella.
“While it has been an honorto help Governor Palin and her family over the last few years, I am also honored to have this incredible opportunity to stay home with my precious miracle, Isabella,” Stapleton told POLITICO. “At two years old, I have missed significant moments in her life but I look forward with great happiness to celebrating milestones as well as mundane moments with her as I refocus my priorities. I also look forward to seeing my saint-of-a-husband again, too!”
Anyone who closely follows Palin will undoubtedly recognize the voice.
Since the end of the presidential campaign, Stapleton has been one of only a handful of aides and trusted contacts maintained by Palin through her transition from governor, to national political figure, to author, to Fox News contributor and one of the unofficial leaders of the tea party movement.
In that time, Stapleton was a key strategic adviser and the pipeline for anyone seeking Palin’s attention, including Republican officials and reporters.
“Meg has been deeply involved in all things Palin and instrumental in Sarah’s many successes,” Fred Malek, a prominent Republican fundraiser and Palin friend, told POLITICO. “It’s hard to replace anyone so loyal, tireless, and effective, but the Palin phenomenon will continue. Meg has surely earned the privilege to devote more time to her 2-year-old daughter, but I expect she will continue to render advice to her good friend on key issues.”
Prior to working for the former governor, Stapleton was director of scheduling and advance for Republican National Committee Co-Chair Jeanie Austin, an assistant for Malek at Thayer Capital Partners and a local television news reporter in New York, Pennsylvania and Alaska.
Palin and her now ex-aide have been talking about her stepping down for some time and it became official on Wednesday – Stapleton’s birthday.
Sounds like she gave herself (and us, frankly) a nice birthday present. In a telling announcement to staff, Stapleton explained her reasoning for quitting. If you listen very carefully you’ll be able to detect a couple pretty good parting shots at the almost-one-term-ex-governor.
“Earlier this week I handed Governor Palin my resignation, effective the end of this month. While I had hoped to work together on so many more projects, time with my precious two-year-old has been further minimized with the whirlwind commitments of all things Palin,” she told the SarahPAC staff. “I have done my best to scale back but Isabella is now resorting to hiding my BlackBerry and she shouldn’t grow up begging for a mother to start acting like a mother.”
“All things Palin?” “Start acting like a mother?” You mean Stapleton thinks you can’t be an effective mother from your Blackberry? But Palin even ran the state from her Blackberry during the campaign so she wouldn’t have to hand over power to Lt. Governor Sean Parnell! A child shouldn’t grow up begging for a mother’s attention? Hmmm. Perhaps some day we’ll learn the true story. In the mean time, we can’t help but wonder what Sarah Palin will actually sound like now. Farewell, Meg. Don’t let the bus hit you on the way out of Dodge.

Palin probably asked Stapleton to stay on as long as possible, not doing much of anything, in hopes of snagging as many speaking gigs as possible- until it became (painfully) obvious that Palin’s future lay strictly in celebrity grifting.
That wailing sound you hear is Isabella writhing in agony, screaming, “Make the bad lady go away!”

As someone on Gryphen’s site already asked, does Stapleton’s child have ruffled ears? I do not believe for a second that her resignation and this latest Palin bombshell are not connected. Stapleton was in on Palin’s con right up to her beady little eyeballs. The reason she is jumping from Palin’s ship is that she does not want to sucked down in the vortex as Palin goes down. I’m willing to bet that Stapleton is very afraid of criminal proceedings and is trying to create as much space between herself and Palin as she possibly can. If Stapleton has any brains – which is much more than a rhetorical question – she’d contact a prosecutor or Alaska’s Attorney General and start singing a grand mea culpa aria in hopes of getting immunity.
Stapleton knows that the you-know-what is about to hit the fan. THAT is the only thing that could get this hog’s nose out of that trough.

Argue any of these things if you want, but from these two e-mails, I surmise Meg gave birth on or around July 1st, 2007, to what mother (and presumably father) knew over three weeks earlier was going to be a daughter, whose name was going to be Isabella. This information was shared freely with the Palin family.
I thought I remembered news stories about Meg resigning earlier, for the reason of wanting to spend more time with her new daughter, but I’m not finding them now. It might have been just around the time when Palin became Governor.
Any extra Mudpuppy sleuthing into this matter would be appreciated, as the general meme I’m seeing already is that Meg resigned for totally altruistic reasons (family always trumps).
My question is: why didn’t Meg come to that conclusion (family trumps politics) when her daughter was born, over two years ago?
Now that Meg’s free, “the world is literally her oyster”.

Trust me, I have a friend who worked for someone much more famous than Dodobrain and he didn’t make her sign anything. When he screwed her over one two many times she quit and made a nice living selling to tabloids until she found a new job.

Not too long after that she went to work for one of the phone companies as a VP of something or other. Then SP hired her back to be the spokesmouth about the time she got picked for VP candidate I think. It was a timeline something like that.

Looks like Staplemouth has first hand knowledge and has seen what happens to kids who grow up with parents like the Palins, who don’t seem to have much time for their kids. (How many photos have we seen of Palin, holding Trig in one hand and the Blackberry in the other? Kids not in school, because they’re boosting mom’s image?) Hopefully, Staplemouth has come to her senses in raising her own child. Only time will tell. I don’t think Alaska will be in Meg’s future plans – at least I hope not – she ruined her rep up here. And Palin will replace Meg again, and again, and again, and again, with someone just like Meg, or worse – if there is such a person. And, in time, the last three of her confidents will escape the loony-bin (Cole, Perry & Todd) – not necessarily in that order.

Also, I believe it was Meg who said that Granny had “thousands” of speaking requests… now that Granny is counting on those speaking engagements to fatten her bank account, she may be very unhappy to find Meg greatly exaggerated the number and willingness of groups who are willing to put cash down for a serving of word salad.
It looks like the reindeer attacked Meg the Forkedtongue, it was trying to do us a favor.

Wow. Haven’t read all the comments yet, just want to say thanks AKM for this post that says it all about Meg. I had sent Meghan Stapleton a message over a year ago that maybe in order to save her career and her soul, she should jump ship. Didn’t happen. Too late to save her career, I hope she has either a good priest or a good therapist to try and save the other.
I get a warm feeling picturing all of us, eagerly waiting in front of our computers, faces glowing in the light of the screens, surrounded by bags of popcorn yet to be popped, chilled bottles of bubbly at the ready. Her slow demise is even better than I imagined.
I remember when Star the Reindeer took out Meg on camera. That was classic. Animals are so good at judging people’s characters.
Wonder what Meg’s career choices are now? If she’s hired back at KTUU, she’ll never have the same kind of popularity again. I think she’s gonna stay at home and hunker down for a bit. I don’t expect her to start talking unless one of two things happen; she gets entangled in a legal issue regarding involvement with the Palins, or if Sarah turns on her and their friendship has a falling out. Remember, there’s no wrath like a woman scorned.

And really, everyone in Alaska has the right to be bitter about all the nonsense that has come from Palin, encouraged by Meg. The two of them together have done so much damage to Alaska and to all the rest of us. At least one of them seems to have the sense to know when to stop. Now if Sarah would just get a clue and go home, we’d all be better off.
If Meg wrote a tell-all book…it’s guaranteed to be an immediate best seller (more $$$ than Going Rogue or Game Change). Given Palins personal grudges and vindicativeness, I’d say the parting was not on good terms. And to answer an earlier question – I’d say Meg jumped.

Remember how so much of that “outlfow, donating” took place on a weekend day at the 11th hour before the reports were due to be provided to the public? Hmmm.. It seems there comes a time when if you aren’t willing to keep putting your finger on the hot stove, you may just be relieved of “helping out” with the charade any longer.

I think she was fired. I think Coale, Malik, and some others can see her success slipping away, with much due to the snottiness that she seems to exude, which guarantees the polarization. Thing is, firing MS isn’t going to change anything, you can’t make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear, 2 peas in a pod, etc etc
Meg/IzzyLene got paid $92,450 by SarahPAC in 2009. She did not get paid in Dec, so by Feb 28, she will have taken another $30,000 salary out of SarahPAC if she gets paid. That is $122,450 over 13 months. Not megabucks for a megamouth by Outside standards. Expenses of approx $17,000 were paid to Meg and her hubby St. Eric.
While SarahPAC paid a gazillion opportunists to serve as consultants, Meg was tied in 1st place in terms of monthly salary, earning $8000-$10,000 monthly. Timothy Crawford, fundraising consultant earned $6000-$10,000 per month.
Jason Recher of NorthStar Strategies (formerly of the McCain campaign staff) came on board in Aug. He was earning $20,000/month. Not sure if he was just the book tour manservant or if he has remained on board. If he is still with the team, he would be the top earner.

My apologies to anyone who actually EARNED a diploma from any of these institutions. It really chaps my lips when institutions will graduate anyone who shows up with enough money. It’s so hard to get into college. Why in the world are these places allowing in people that don’t qualify for street sweeper school? Meg couldn’t be a writer on a canceled soap!
I went to the Secretary of State (AK) website and searched for Pie Sky and any LLC or business registered in the names of the Palins or Meg Stapleton. Only thing for any of the Palins (including Bristol) was that old car wash they sold years ago. What happened to the PR LLCs and Pie Sky? Are they defunct? And the only 2 with Van Fleabag’s name on them were totally unrelated.
And MS only owns 20% of Rebound, according to the filing.

Did Malek recommend that Palin replace her local talent, Meg, with a more sophisticated public relations apparatus which could more effectively counter her downward trajectory? Too late, Fred. I remember reading someplace that Pie Spy (Pie in the Sky?) was supposed to involve Meg’s husband, who has a different last name. The company was supposed to provide therapy to the disabled and to the elderly. Being naturally suspicious, especially if it is a Palin investment, I saw it as a way to funnel money to therapy for Trig and/or care for any of the Heath/Palin parents as future needs may arise. (I was assumming that money was coming from PAC, for example). Does anyone know anymore about it? I think that Meg’s husband had some limited experience in rehab/therapy??

I think Malek has gotten Scarah a new high power, behind the scenes PR person. I was really surprised to hear the she was to be on Leno. It’s really hard to get on Leno. There are all kinds of high powered PR folks competing to get a spot so somebody must have called in some marker to get her on.
By all the polls, she is not the darling of the right wing anymore. It’s generally less than 10% who even like her. If I was the booker for Leno and wanted a right wing person I’d go for Brownie or Paul.

With the exception of the decision to quit as governor and perhaps the Couric interview, all of these were minor mistakes, at most. But they point toward a candidate who needs to surround herself with good people and has conspicuously refused to do so, instead relying on advice from her husband and her bush-league media spokeswoman, Meg Stapelton.
Could this be why Meg was booted?
I’ve made the comparison before between Sarah Palin and George W. Bush. Neither of them are geniuses — nor do they need to be. But Bush was at least smart enough to surround himself with a team of exceptionally competent strategists, advisers and consultants. He was smart enough to recognize that it takes a village to get oneself elected President, and ideally one a bit less isolated and insular than Wasilla. Palin hasn’t figured that out yet; her ability to become the Republican nominee and have a fighting chance in the general election will depend on her ability to do so.

Great post AKM. My guess is Meg was pushed out and there is some hush money and a confidentiality agreement involved. I agree with others here that a “bigger dog” is being put in place to hone and polish her image for her 2012 gasp of a try at the White House. She will never make it past the primaries, but someone is giving a try. Just my opinion. Oh, and as for a “tell all” book, I don’t see that in the near future. Perhaps in a few years after all of this has blown over and Palin loses her bid for Prez….then perhaps. I hope it will happen.

I think Meg crafted her response very carefully. And I don’t think the above quote would have been included if the parting had been amicable. Whether Meg quit or was invited to resign, I don’t think the parting was on good terms.
Meg may feel that this is an opportunity to stay home with her daughter and write that book, which will pay for her efforts. I can’t see Palin giving Meg $200,000 in severance unless it was hush money tied up with a big red non-disclosure bow. Whatever severance she may have received or savings she may have accrued, I imagine it will last just long enough for her to write a few chapters and shop them around for a book deal.
Levi better hurry up or Meg will beat him to all of the juicy parts.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — Rob Heun, the former chief of police in Anchorage, was sworn in Wednesday as the U.S. Marshal for Alaska.
Heun took the oath at the U.S. Marshal Service headquarters in Washington, D.C.
Sen. Mark Begich recommended and President Barack Obama nominated Heun to the post in November and the full Senate confirmed him earlier this month.
Heun retired from the Anchorage Police Department in August after rising to chief from patrol officer in a career that spanned 26 years.
I think Buffalo Gal nailed it. A decision one could have made at any time in the past two years does not become an “opportunity.” But I’m not sure her reference to not neglecting her child was a deliberate slap at SP, since she may well be too dense to realize the implications of what she says.

I think Meg’s telling statement “off all things Palin” totally throws Scarah under the bus as the self centered witch she is, plus the dig about the blackberry & motherhood is crystal clear & I doubt it was a pleasant parting!

@191- The Anchorage Daily News stated that Todd’s partner was injured. Since then, a few other participants have scratched for injuries. Not enough snow, and a lot of accidents.
I’ve been reading all the comments and conjectures of why Stapleton resigned. I’m afraid it will be for a reason that we won’t be too happy with, like her getting replaced by a real GOP hotshot.
Now let’s get down to some dirty talk, my mouth always feel dry when I talk about a woman that has single handidly lied her way to the top and no one seems to be able to stop the doppleganger grifter. How is it that someone so dumb can capture and captivate someone that is educated and supposedly bight? It is because they are followers and not leaders and SP happens to be the master of the blind leading the blind. And now she resigns to take care of her own baby. She was either let off the bus because her family kept telling her she was dumber than SP and she now believes it, or SP grew tired of the yes-woman and needed a new “Yes” person to believe in her cult. Now don’t get me wrong I think a mother that puts family first is great, but we all know that an absent mother for the first two years of an infants life is no mother she was made an ultimatum without a choice.
To the comment above that “it is hard to get on Leno”: Are you serious? His name is mud right now (no offense, AKM). Everyone is miffed at the way the Conan departure was handled; many entertainment industry folk blame Leno. Leno’s interview with Oprah did not build sympathy. Letterman’s ratings are going to go through the roof in these coming weeks. Leno will be desperate to rebuild ratings after the Olympics end.
My first thought upon hearing the news on the car radio this afternoon was that MS was removed to make way for the Presidential campaign to begin. No way someone of Stapleton’s skill (or lack of) would be able to survive a push for the presidency. That thought sent a cold shiver down my spine. My 2nd thought was “I bet the mudpups are having a field day with this”. I was uplifted by the wonderful post, AKM. Great work as always! I want one of those staple-removers!
That pic at the bottom with Piper looking so forlorn (and Trig looking like a “loaf of bread”) sorta epitomizes the Palin we have all come to know and “love”. It made me sad for those 2 children.

Meg probably got a great severance pay deal (paid to be quiet). Why Malek made the initial statement is questionable. Aren’t there other paid writers-or Sarah herself? Malek was Meg’s friend first, so I think he is tied into this move for some reason.

AKM…once again you have provided me with the news that is behind the news! Kudos on a finely written piece (albeit just a LITTLE snarky!)
As I read the comments in Politico from the Palin lovers, I couldn’t help but notice how quickly they praise Stapleton for choosing to stay home with her two year old, but quickly jump to defend S-error for choosing her blackberry over her children!
As an educator who works with severe needs kids, in a public education system that is presently “enjoying” a free-for-all attack from every angle, I have been moved to start writing about the ONE failure that we educators see every day, but that everyone seems to be afraid to talk about ….and that is PARENTING! Sometimes, we, as educators, see children with disabilities, children of poverty, children in extreme circumtances coming to us prepared and ready to learn because of parenting. But, more and more often, we see children from all circumstances, (yes, even those REAL AMERICANS) coming to us not ever having been exposed to books, or rules, or the basic skills that good parenting provides. It is not limited to race, or poverty, or parent’s education….it is an attitude. Sarah Palin, as “REAL” as she is, to some, provides a perfect role model for that attitude. I don’t have to actually DO anything…governing, education, parenting, even TALKING requires no investment on my part. In fact, if you really believe those things, then you’re not a REAL AMERICAN, you’re just one of those nasty “elite”. I’m sorry. I wanted my children to be college graduates, I want my students to be “elite”.
So, to Meg and all the other “mouths” out there, I would say, go home and teach your child to BE “elite”, teach your child thinking skills, and communication skills, and all those other skills that a parent should teach a child!
We educators will thank you….and, someday, you may be thankful that your child is “elite”.

This was an enlightening read. I live on the east coast and knew nothing about what the lawyer sent to Alaska was doing. McCain and repubs were vocal the Dems sent “operatives” to Alaska to dig up dirt so poor Sarah Palin, the victim! For alaskans who followed state politics what went on must have been shocking to witness the defermation of so many people to the public.

OK I read the ear stuff and here are some thoughts: Could one of the babies be Meg’s “miracle child” who is never seen (what do her ears look like)? Also, didn’t Sarah & Bristol go to NY to stay at a luxury hotel for a few days and could Sarah or Bristol have tried to have an abortion and it didn’t work? Could Levi have had a kid with another girl? Since it’s rare for young women to have a DS baby it doesn’t make sense that Trig is Brisol’s.
Could the baby not be Todd’s and she was trying to cover the timelines to fool him? Anyone know if he’s had a vasectomy? Remember at Palin’s Wisconsin talk that she got all the timelines of her supposed ultrasound & amnio wrong?

MS’s baby was born in July. The picture of the ruffle-eared baby was taken in May of the following year. Not possible for that baby to be Isabella.
I’ve wavered back and forth on this matter and now I am convinced that the baby in that picture is Bristol and Levi’s child. Look at the tender way Levi cradles that baby. Look at his face! And my final question: WHY would any teen-aged boy be holding the baby of his girlfriend’s MOTHER with such care and tenderness? I doesn’t make sense.

You forgo one critical “ear-”…ear-responsible….
We need Alaskans to get documents together. During the time Sarah was claiming to be pregnant, there must be tons of photos of her doing routine govenor talks, etc. that could be used to compare her baby bumps. All the people she’s worked with, most of whom she’s thrown under the bus, especially Andrea McLeod should have lots of info on Sarah’s schedule, travel, emails, etc. during the months of the false pregnancy & beyond to look for obvious glitches.
Was she using her tanning bed during these months? What about all the emails that were just released for a recent ethics suit, anything damning in there? And if she really did have a DS baby could she realistically be at work 2 days later? Did anyone witness her breast feeding or pumping? Was she tired, did she still have some baby bump fat that would be normal for awhile? Also why was the kid always sleeping at the Repub Convention, did she drug him to keep him quiet?
Maybe Levi’s mom or sister had a kid with FAS or DS or his sister, does anyone know if they could’ve been pregnant, either would explain Levi’s attachment. Maybe they were going to put the child up for adoption and Sarah needed a prop? What if Todd got another cougar pregnant who didn’t want the baby and Trig was from that? Or could Track have had a kid he didn’t want? This baby needs a DNA test, that’s for sure. Also who is Bree Palin and is Mercedes Levi’s sister?
In the kitchen photo with Mercedes (?) sitting, she looks like the mom and Sarah looks like the visitor. Also in the kitchen picture, Sarah’s legs look tan, so when was she able to use her tanning bed if she was just pregnant & nursing-another red flag-or maybe that’s what did the kid in!
The best television in years was Les Gara calling big mouth Meg on the carpet after the “Troopergate” report was released. Meg continued to lie, squirm, and scurry like the trapped rat that she was.

Any word on whether Palin was still paying Stapletongue? Have to admit that I haven’t noticed her absence lately… nor will I miss her absence in the future. Her replacement will be just as bad.

For answers to most of your questions, you should go to Palin’s Deceptions and read Audrey’s posts. Especially one of the last, “The Cornerstone.”
There was one e-mail I saw that I thought was very important. It was from the State of Alaska, Benefits Div., to “Gov. Sarah Palin.” One sentence read: “To insure continued coverage for your ‘newborn,’ please submit a copy of the child’s b/c to us within 60 days of the date of birth.”
The date of the e-mail was May 21, 2008. Could be 30 days had gone by and they were giving her another 30 days to submit it so the newborn would have continued coverage. If Trig was born around April 17/18, this would tie in with all the birth info she gave to the ADN. Of course, the acutal date and weight were probably changed to coincide with her arrival and the premie issue.
This e-mail tells us invoices were submitted to her ins. with Alaska for Trig’s birth! The only way I think this can happen, her name was submitted by the Dr. or hospital to her ins. carrier. If this is true, and the same info was submitted to the “Bureau of Vital Statistics,” that means there is a b/c on file.
Please, someone in Alaska, investigate this!
