Open Thread – The Bobblehead of Terror
Here’s the latest in a long and unfortunate line of items I like to refer to as “Sarah-phernalia.” Behold the bobble head. I’ve seen others before, but never one all decked out in camouflage, and never one that’s quite so proud of its packaging.
If you thought the Left was terrified of Sarah Palin, wait till they see her like this. Decked out in camo and strapped with a rifle, this sculpted, hand-painted, 7-inch doll represents the former governor’s refreshing refusal to care about pleasing the political and press establishments.
While the Sarah Palin Bobblehead Doll is moving her head, will it be liberals shaking at the sight of this one-of-a-kind collectors’ item?
The answer is pretty obvious: “You betcha!”
Shipped securely in custom box to prevent breakage.

They should call this product a ‘babble head’.
And while her shrill cackling voice is probably a mating call to geese everywhere, she most often hunts for food at the 24 hour drive thru at Taco Bell.
I’m gonna get two and place them in the back window of my 1963 Cad and fix lights to the eyes and hook my turn signals to um there.
Well, alrighty then, a new target for the 4th of July bottle rockets! Fire away!
Sickening! I’d like to have one though to stomp it with my boot. Then look at it and say to it… Who’s tough now? Sarah.
So, is she getting a kick-back on these? Just another way to pick up a few $$$?
Well, the really big head seems right.
Bet they were made in China. One more job exported by the corporate class.
If she gets royalties……The PAC will buy them and give them to Donors of the NRA convention she is speaking at
Eeeeewwwwwwwww! Ickickick! What an unexpected and unpleasant sight when teh mudflats opened up on my monitor this morning. I’m wide awake now, and So Thankful there’s No Audio to go with the Visual…
My first thought was, “Where is JoJo the Wonderdog (of blessed memory) when I need him?” Granny bobble-blah-blah wouldn’t last as long as a rawhide chewy.
Wishing you all a lovely day. and scrubbing my eyeballs, also, too.
Special stuff with students on my Saturday schedule, so I’m outta here. I f I don’t make it back before dark, I’ll see you Sunday.
L’ Shalom.
What about bobble-head Toad, Track, Bristol, Willow (where is she BTW ?) Piper and Trig, Trigg, Triggg and possibly Trigggg ?
Then there could be a Palin bobble-head house, bigger house, cabin, plane….
Then there could be…bobble-head Levi etc…
Then there has to be a Meg bobble-head plus all the others (Van Flein etc sp?)
…and while we are about it, what about a bunch of bobble-head tea baggers ?
I know it is late here in Oz but I see a whole bobble-head universe unfolding…nightmare material.
Okay, there are so many things I can say–but they are so nasty and snarky
that it’s better if I don’t.
Words fail me.
Shocking, something tacky related to Palin.
I tried to find the SM Show w/ Ann Bloggers on youtube without success. Can someone post a link?

@ A Fan from CA
Have to agree, just who hand painted these “things”?
Seriously, the rhetoric in the marketing pisses me off. I don’t have any problem whatsoever with hunting, responsible gun ownership, or wearing of camo. “refreshing refusal to care about pleasing the political and press establishments” is BULLSH*T! She has created her character carefully to appear (to some) to be a hunter. I don’t doubt that Poppa Heath made her and her sisters hunt, but at this point it is all part of the charade.

How long before I see them at the Dollar Store?

This came out just in time! NewsMax is running out of bound toilet paper (also known as “Going Rouge”) to give out free with new subscriptions. The “Palinator Babble-Head” promotion will certainly build their circulation even more.
Hilarious! This will make the lefties laugh louder.
When I read this HP article last night, comments were turned off for maintenance. This morning there are almost 1000… About Sarah and her statement about using the poor man’s teleprompter.

The Left is terrified of Sarah Palin?
Actor and wise-ass Steven Weber may have summed it up best: “My favorite low-brow bromide is that Sarah Palin “terrifies the Left.” The truth is she (and her ilk) terrify all sensible, thoughtful people on the Left and on the Right, let alone every civilized nation on Earth. That a personality less qualified, less able, less educated should ascend so rapidly (and clearly with the help of an opportunistic media on both sides of the ideological divide) speaks to the depths this nation has sunk in terms of selecting viable, wise leadership. [...] Terrified? You betcha.”
Oh , you would be amazed at the “items” that I have found with sarah’s likeness.
Think “a woman’s best friend”……..
Off Topic – but very important!
Recent findings are that GMO corn approved for human consumption, causes organ failure. The USDA is considering making the labeling of GMO food unnecessary. If this happens say goodbye to knowing what you and your family are eating. Say goodbye to organic food and practices. Say goodbye to any chance of decent health.

If I could not think of MANY more constructive things to do with $22.95, I’d get one to put next to my computer screen to have it available to work out my hostilities and frustrations re the GOP. It’s too small to actually slap, you’d have to just flick it’s little bobblehead with your thumb and forefinger.
Back in the real world, my divorced, single mom niece just lost her job with GE. Her ex has a very low paid job – so can’t pick up the slack in her income. And her widowed mom just sold the big 4 bedroom family house and downsized to a small, 2 bedroom condo – so no space for everyone to move back home. Are there any middle/working class families who are not hurting from this economy & the infuriating political gridlock in DC?

They’re saying there have been 25 aftershocks already in Chile w/ many of them being 5.0 – 7.8.
When they estimate wave heights are they measuring from sea level ? I’m seeing estimates of 15 feet for Hawaii but haven’t seen any for other areas.
My son had to answer some questions yesterday & one was if he had renounced his citizenship. His answer:
“If Palin runs & wins in 2012, I know enough Spanish that I can change my name to a Mexican one & move to Mexico. Does that count?”
People were too busy laughing & agreeing with him to find fault with the less than direct “No” that was required.
just one more way for her to go down… in infamy
re the booble head: Does the gun have a Bible verse on the barrel?
Seriously, how embarrassing is this? It’s just a darn good thing Palin has no shame or her life would be a daily morass of unbearable humiliation.
Re: Us ‘scared’ liberals, I took on a commenter at Washington Post who was gloating about how Sarah has us ‘dummercrats’ on the run. It was (amazingly) actually published in the WaPo comments section, but I posted it to my blog here, as well: http://priorbadacts.wordpress.com/2010/02/26/confessions-of-a-dummercrat/.
Brava Mickey Brava!
Mickey 7 (#31)
I read it – it was – I only wish I could write like that! It was a wonderful commentary on the current state of affairs.
Brava!
Does it come with Naughty Monkey pumps? Or a tiny sharpie that you can write on SP’s hand?
Mickey 31. Nice job! Thank you for sharing your work.
I am wondering what would happen if you stuck that thing on your head, glued a Bumpit to it, and then styled hair over it. B52 Redux?
All I can do is shake my head!
Mickey, that was a masterful smackdown.
Also on Huffpo Bill Maher somehow manages to zing SP when he’s talking about Tiger Woods:
“His poop is royal!” Sorry, but thinking you can look at a babbling, barely-housebroken, uneducated being and say, “That’s our leader” doesn’t make you enlightened. It makes you a Sarah Palin supporter.

Mickey…fabulous!
O’Reilly was on one of the morning shows, stated “Sarah Palin needs to go to college,” O’Reilly said. “Political college, world affairs college, and she is. She’s hired a bunch of advisers and they’re giving her a whole bunch of tracks to learn, because it is a sophisticated deal.”
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/02/25/bill-oreilly-sarah-palin_n_476345.html
Two things come to mind:
Who are the “teachers” in this “college” and
…the irony that it is only now that she is getting to that studyin’ up point of view.
Check the palms of the hands on the bobble-head. Does it say,”Don’t eat the yellow snow.” She should remember that!
OT but seriously-
We need to send some prayers to Hawaii- that 8.8 in Chile is supposed to generate a 12 foot rise in water level (not a wave- but a total mass shift of H20) and hit Hawaii at roughly 11:19 Hawaiian time. A little less than 4 hours from now. They are on full on Tsunami alert- MSNBC has a good live video stream.
All I can say is I am impressed by their attitude and preparation-

No bets today- but I am glad for all of you Alaskans- that SP isn’t in charge- it would be a disaster of epic proportions in terms of her inability to cope with needing to make rapid fire decisions that affect peoples lives and NOT her wallet.
Empty rhetoric and barely rehearsed speeches are no replacement for sound, fundamental, and disciplined decisions that are based on facts and not self delusion.

Not a great weekend so far; we had a very sudden and unexpected death in our family yesterday, and our neighbors are in Chile. I’m afraid to see what happens next.

I don’t want to contribute to Palin’s inflated sense of importance, but the fact that I am a mudpup is also an indicator that Palin affects my life. Tuche.
Bufalo Gal – you wondered how they measured the waves. The following is from the national tsunamit site that you posted:
“Tsunami amplitudes are measured relative to normal sea level. It is NOT crest-to-trough wave height”
Good question!
“Automatically becomes portable when moved!”
Kind of trivia but relevant to today. In Hawaii and in the Medateranian there is evidence that the back side of islands struck by tsuname experience waves double the height of the facing side. The energ waves wraps around the island and doubles its energy as reunites on the back side.
Kind of trivia but relevant to today. In Hawaii and in the Mediterranean there is evidence that the back side of islands struck by tsunami experience waves double the height of the facing side. The energy waves, this is more a moving energy wave than a moving water wave actually, wraps around the island and doubles its energy as it reunites on the back side.
And just like the back side of a hurricaine or tornado do the most destruction (things are already weakened and debris acts to batter) the out wash of a tsunami wave is in some ways the most dangerous.

I’ve been watching the MSNBC coverage on the Chilean quake. (I have to say it certainly highlights our Hispanic cultural influence here in the SW – it’s downright amusing to hear Chile pronounced like it’s a bowl of moose chili instead of CHEE-lay as I’m so long accustomed to hearing.) I’m reminded by many scenes of the aftermath of the Anchorage quake back in ’64 – especially the ground fractures with large displacement. Chilean reporters have talked quite a bit about changes Chile made in building codes after a quake in ’85, and how those changes have likely contributed significantly to survivability. While it’s devastating economically, it’s a welcome sight to see so many buildings still safely standing after being damaged beyond any hope of repair.
And then I’m reminded of many of Palin’s remarks trashmouthing building codes and her elimination of permits (which are an integral part of code enforcement), and I have to ask: Is it really true that Alaska has not developed earthquake-oriented building codes to increase survivability even in the wake of their own experience with a devastating quake?
————-
And – for those who are tired of hearing wingnuts bad mouth San Francisco as though it’s the ultimate bad example of Liberal government and values, I recommend this segment from Rachel’s show last night with San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom. No wonder San Francisco makes regular appearances in the nightmares of conservatives.

I’m on the Central Coast of CA and is it ever hard to get good info. I’ve seen a NOAA site that states that Pismo Beach is expecting a 4.2 foot rise. Luckily the time window is also a very low tide but we are having high (up to 20 ft) swell from the storm. I’m staying on high ground. High ground is considered 50 ft above mean sea level around here.
In the meantime, I’m going to go off to the mailbox because it is within the “danger” zone.

Relatives are on the westside of Hawaii. Will have to check with them about the energy wrap to the back side of a tsunami. They expect it about 4 p.m..EST.
And Haiti isn’t finished with its Earthquakes.
Had two small ones in my town last Sunday.
Sounds like the earth is on a rampage.
Nature has its own agenda.
Kurt Vonnegut thought these sorts of natural disasters were just the Earth’s way of purging itself of the ‘virus’ of humanity. If he was right, she must be mighty sick of us right now ‘cuz this is some nasty purging going on.
Although the destruction in Chile is bound to be devastating, I am somewhat reassured by some of the photos I’ve seen so far. Compared to Haiti, it seems as though many of the buildings were much more resistant to earthquake damage than those in Haiti. They might be damaged beyond repair, but, if they hold up long enough for people to escape, we can at least be grateful for that small favor. Clearly, the far more functional government and higher economic levels of Chile, as compared to Haiti, have resulted in a better infrastructure and more rapid and organized ability to respond to the crisis.
Let’s all hope and pray that the death toll remains low and help arrives quickly to those who need it. And that additional aftershocks and tsunamis cause minimal destruction.
Give it a few months. It will be on clearance for $9.95.

On the topic of $P/Granny Grifter:
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/james-zogby/abuse-of-language-threate_b_479464.html
On the Earthquake/Tsunami, hope all will make adequate preparations and take the warnings seriously. The link provided by Buffalo Gal was helpful and shocking to see the red/orange map of the energy across the Pacific:
http://wcatwc.arh.noaa.gov/chile/chileem.jpg
Who ever made the comment above re $P/Granny Grifter getting rid of building codes is on target–Haiti had the excuse of no major quake in about 200 years. Chile made changes to strengthen buildings after 1985. Normal people don’t need a tree to fall on their heads to know it’s going to hurt, but $P/Granny Grifter isn’t normal.
Chile is a great country, with very strong resorceful people. They’ve got decent infrastructure, and many buildings in Santiago are specially constructed for earthquakes. If they could survive the 1973 coup and 20 years of terror under Pinochet, they can survive anything. I doubt this will turn into anything nearly as bad as Haiti.
For everyone else in coastal areas – get off the beach!

Mickey7 Great smack down.I keep telling her supporters that the left doen’t fear her. it is the riots and violence she inspires that scares people that have any common sense. It is the harm she is doing to our country that people want to stop.
Will Sarah present Jay with one of these things on Monday night? UGH!!
If so—-wonder what his remark wil be.
So sad to see another earthquake hit. Will the Madrid fault be next ?
It would wipe out St. Louis, Missouri. Scary!!!!!! Seems I remember something about this earthquake that changed the flow of the Mississippi river.
These earthquakes are sooooo powerful.
Lacy I see on th map that a fairly strong quake hit Oklahoma today…

Michael Blosil Suicide: Marie Osmond’s Son Dies In Los Angeles
Marie Osmond’s son Michael died Friday in Los Angeles after leaping to his death from his apartment. He left a note as described below saying he intended to commit suicide after a life-long battle with depression.
Michael had struggled with depression and in 2007, at age 16, he went to rehab for undisclosed reasons.
*snip*
Entertainment Tonight broke the news of his death with the following:
Osmond family members have notified ET that Marie Osmond’s son Michael Blosil leapt to his death Friday night in Los Angeles. Contacted by phone this morning, Donny Osmond tells us: “Please pray for my sister and her family.”
Here are the details: Michael, who was in his late teens and is one of Marie’s eight children, died after jumping from his downtown Los Angeles apartment at about 9 p.m. on Friday night. He left a note explaining he intended to commit suicide due to his life-long battle with severe depression that left him, he said, feeling as if he had no friends and could never fit in.
The doll’s size is congruent with Palin’s stature as a political figure in this country.

Hahaha………..thanks fer sizin’ up the situation.
OT… Aunt in AZ went to JD Hayworth rally , certainly sounds like a LOT of people in AZ are out to support him and dump McCain….don’t think he’s gonna make it thru the Primaries…look for him to do some headline grabbing and moving to the Right more as he struggles to get support at home… guy should have announced retirement after this last presidential bid…
http://capwiz.com/iamaw/issues/alert/?alertid=14734541 is the link to send a message to Bunning regarding his singlehanded blocking of the bill to extend unemployment insurance and COBRA.
Health and peace to all, and hope to see some of you in chat late this eve.
The left is not so terrified of Sarah Palin as those few of us on the right still sane…
Whenever she says something that is just so obviously beneath the dignity of a woman even half her age, this little ‘novelty’ would be the perfect effigy for administering unto $arah a finger-flicking ‘bink’, directly to the forehead….
It wouldn’t surprise me in the least that she gets a cut of the sales. She is a ‘brand’ after all, and also oblivious to things most would consider in poor taste, too.
#112………..awwww, so sad
Marie is a fragile person…I hope she stays strong and connected for the sake of the rest of her family…what a tragedy!
I remember the days of George Wallace. I read an article comparing the two. –Palin and Wallace. There’s a lot of the same kind of rhetoric. Palin brought such an ugliness back to politics and she really seems to be so proud of her destruction. I don’t like the uneasiness she thrust on this country and I fear the things that could happen because of it.
What’s next? A blow up sex toy doll? Pretty soon it is going to be hard to make anything in her image since it continally changes with her many surgeries. Can’t wait til she becomes Greta Garbo, which should be pretty soon.
Looking over palin’s FB page…I noticed she does not allow dislikes (thumbs down) to any of her bashing & blabbings? Also too, she only keeps POSITIVE comments as feedback and lists ONLY fans (fanatics)…shows herself as a politician and still begs for SarahPAC dollar$.
Classic behavior…living in a (utopian) bubble…“denial of denial“.
Alas. Poor Sarah will never be truly satisfied until she is brought to life as
“Ch-Ch-Ch- CHIA!”
She is surely jealous that Obama won that Iditarod of tackiness, instead of herself.
Sarah/Chia Pet 2016!
…a large marshmallow would be about the right size for a bumpit over which to grow the herb….

now, now, austin….ya wanna explain how you knew to find that ????
Thank you. I may have found the winner for this year’s Neighborhood Christmas Tacky Gift Exchange. Can you let me know when it gets below our limit of $20?
YOU GUYS! (grin) Marshmallows, Bumpits, etc. Don’t we all have $$$arah pegged? Thanks for the slashing comedy, and absolute truth about this charlatan. The last two issues of TIME mag are pretty much peeling SP’s skin off. Woo-hoo!
The best part about the recent edition of TIME is that they actually printed Andrea Friedman’s comment about the slogged-around French Bread named Trig (tri-G), as in Down baby…something the NYT didn’t have the cajones to print. $$sarah, dahlin’…you goin’ down. Like the Chevy ad (nothing wrong with Chevy’s))….”Like A Rock”. Get gone, $$arah..buh-bye. YOU’RE FIRED!
I forgot to add the TIME magazine quote (written by a man in West Des Moines, Iowa): “If Sarah Palin is a populist threat for the presidency, politics has become “American Idol”, and we should hang our heads in shame.”
The magazine, the previous week, said (re: “Family Guy”), score ONE for the cartoon, ZERO for Palin. As a “used-to-be Republican”, I’d love to see this narcissistic fraud choke on her own forked-tongue bile.
I think instead of “you betcha”, it should have said “you b*tch ya”.

google is your friend. You would be floored if you put in “Palin” and “s*x toys”.
I just scored a awesome bobblehead of our fabulous President at a garage sale. This one, however, wouldn’t come within a mile of my house!
