New Palin Poll Numbers in Alaska
The Alaska GOP’s favorite pollster Dave Dittman has come out with some new numbers about our ex-almost-one-term governor. How many of them would like to see her run for President of the United States? What percentage of Alaskans think that the woman who couldn’t even survive one term as the governor of half a million people should run the country?
It would appear that it’s 17%. That would leave 83% of Alaskans who think that’s a bad bad idea. BUT, I would submit to you that I know many progressive Alaskans who would love Palin to run for president. Their little eyes get all twinkly, and they look like someone has just asked them if they want a piece of cake. A Palin candidacy, they tell me, assures another four years of a Democratic White House.
So, take that 17% with a grain of salt.
I was interested in this quote from USA Today:
A new poll of voters in Alaska, where Sarah Palin served as governor, shows them deeply divided about whether they think their ex-chief executive should run for the White House.
Deeply divided? 83% v. 17%?
If the election were held today, and Palin ran against someone else for the presidency and the other candidate won in an 83/17 split, I don’t think anyone would be describing it as a “deeply divided” nation. That’s as close to unanimous as a national contest would ever get. “Landslide” doesn’t even do it justice. I believe, if memory serves me correctly, 17% is the same percentage as those who thought favorably about Dick Cheney when he stepped down from the presidency in 2008. No that is not a typo.
And it looks doubtful that Palin would even come close to winning her home state, where it all started. Deeply divided? Not so much.
Another 36% of respondents say that Palin should not run for president, but simply “help other candidates.” Well, she did help Doug Hoffman in New York’s 23rd District. They hadn’t had a Democrat in that seat in decades until she came out in support of the conservative candidate.
She does seem to bring in a lot of money for the candidates she supports, but she also polarizes the debate so much that she brings in just as much for the opponent. Palin is the Republican party’s gift to Democratic fundraisers across the nation.
No Alaskan pollster has asked the question that I would ask – “If Sarah Palin were to run for governor of Alaska in 2010, would you vote for her?” That’s the one I want.
Since I can’t ask only Alaskans that question, I’ll put up another poll here. I’ll assume that most of the regular readers of this blog are not Sarah Palin fans. Call it a hunch. So, what do you think? Would you like to see her run for President against Barack Obama in 2012?

You betcha !
Dang right !! Love to see it . I’m drooling on the keyboard just dreamin’ ’bout it .
she wont run. too much work. not enuff $$$
Would I like her to run for President? You betcha! Would I vote for her? Not in a million, trillion years! Giggle.
Good hunch.
And No, I wouldn’t want to see her run. Because the machine behind her could tamper with votes and if it ends up with the Supreme Court voting for my President again, I might not make it. We just saw them make corporations people. They could make a puppet President… again.
Polls, shmolls.
I’m currently reading “Game Change” which Mr. Terps bought for me for Valentine’s Day (along with some Godiva chocolates and a few other goodies)
… and the authors relate how obsessed SP was with her ratings in Alaska during the VP campaign.
And they more than allude to Todd’s concern about that also.
In light of the e-mails that have been released since, this becomes more interesting.
Rip, yes they will try to “make a puppet President”. That is how they are and that is why we must stay engaged against their machine. During the last election Obama had a “legion” of lawyers at the polls to make sure everything stayed on the up and up. It will need to be done again.
Obama does need to step up the messaging. Glad that Plouff is back but it should not rely on one guy. The whole team needs to step up the PR game against the GOP.
Palin won’t run!
1. Palin is not qualified… she knows it.
2. Too much baggage… thefts, white collar crime, rotten kids,…
Sure she would help ensure a Democratic victory, but it would be just too painful to watch and listen to for two years.
I agree with R’ipley in CT. I’ve seen enough shenanigans to want as qualfied a Republican as they have to run. Not an ignorant con artist whose one idea seems to be jamming her peculiar religion down our throats after she rids the earth of wildlife. Oh, wait…. no, I don’t know who else that might be any more. Carry on.
I hope she does run. The day she was named VP candidate, Obama’s coffers filled up. It was a great day for Obama fundraising.
I think I’m with Ripley on this one. I just want to see her crash and burn. Palin is a blight that this planet doesn’t need.
If they can cancel Ugly Betty, they can cancel How I Vet Your Mother.
Alas, living as I do in a very red part of Texas, I’m afraid for her to run –too many crazies might actually vote for her!
You are right AKM, that “deeply divided” statement is crap journalism.
R’ipley in CT I’m with you to much chance of the supreme court taking over again,it needs to be evened out a bit more. Obama was right to vote no on the justice he voted no on.Whe the supreme court says a corporation has the same rights as a person ,that say’s it all
I voted, “you betcha,” just to hear some more frantic explanations of why she quit. Of course, she’ll say she’s being “badgered” by the question, but when she says she’s being “badgered,” it’s because she hasn’t answered the question satisfactorily. No one will be satisfied until she says that the job was too hard for her and that she could make more selling speeches and books.
‘Tis True… I donated money to Obama when she was selected as VP candidate. It would definitely be a great fundraiser for OFA. I feel she was one of the reasons for President Obama’s landslide victory. But, I don’t know if I can handle seeing her face on websites everyday for two years.
If the GOP wants to go that route, I would like to see her run. The only way to deal with these crazies is out in the open, and part of the process. She needs definitive defeat. And so does that whole arm of the GOP. But then, I’m not cynical enough, just yet, to not believe in the public. I know it’s hard sometime when a 20% fringe gets 90% of the media attention. It just puts a bigger burden on the ones who are really paying attention to get off their butts and do something. We will get the government we fight for.
Isn’t time for America to grow up and say .. “just because the Constitution allows you to run for higher office, doesn’t mean you should.” ?
No thank you. I’m not AFRAID of her, but I am So Over her hate-mongering and holier-than-all attitude.
We have Important Work to do, and Work is Not $arah’s strong suit. I shudder to think of anyone Less Capable of intelligent, compassionate, tenacious Leadership than granny blah blah. Our President can compete with the Best come election time. $arah cannot possibly even See the Best from her house.
I vote we install her on a pedestal at the Wasilla Sports Complex … and leave her there for her fans to adore and photograph.
Unless, of course, she’d rather stay at home (any of ‘em she finds in front of her) and take Care of herself and her Family, her children and grandchildren…
Sorry for the snark…It’s a sunny day in the forest, so I’m off to enjoy it and adjust my attitude. Lots happening in the gardens. Can you believe tomorrow brings March?
It would be great comedy but I want her to more than just fade away. I want to see her in a jumpsuit.
R’ipley in CT -
Yeah , you be right .
My deep dark side just wants to see self-immolation……….
The dialog in Alaska AND the other 49 states has been dumbed-down to the point, by sister and her gang of loons, that MORE of her idiocy and I’ll pull the rest of my hair out!! AND, I don’t have far to go… It seems the collective wisdom of the still functioning, thought-capable humans around this little rock we all inhabit are SICK of this cheeeny-enhanced, sound-bite machine and all of her droolings..
EVEN Meg is done….. PLEASE make it stop…..
No, I hope she just goes away. Hopefully in handcuffs and in shame. A run for office would just stir up her base and give them more opportunity to divide this country. We need to heal and come together. She was fun to watch for a while, but now it is time to get serious and move our country FORWARD.
“Hold me accountable” and make “go with flow” under “the bridge to nowhere”. “I read them all” but “what does a vice president do?” “In what respect, Charlie?” And “them there terrorists, they’re trying to steal our freedoms, so track or shrek went to irack to get them back.”
you betcha !…. but, but, but…. can you run for Pres from prison ???????
We need a reprise of Georgie Porgie? Remember 2000? I shudder when I remember watching that debacle in Florida.
Murdoch and Co would love it.
You Betcha !
Obviously the former half term gov. did not get the Lord’s message the first time around as VP candidate. If she shoots for the Presidents office this time – she will certainly get the message!
Plus – no question will be off limits and she will have to face the media.
I thought I read on Palin’s Q & A that the number of supporters is 17% of the 53% who think she is actually qualified for ANY elected office (including dog catcher), not 17% of 100% polled. That would make her actual presidential supporters closer to half of 17%, more like 8.5%
Both major parties should be nominating the best person for the presidency. If the Republicans choose Sarah Palin in 2012, the democracy will be harmed. That’s what made McCain’s pick of Palin so troubling in 2008. His lack of vetting and shocking gullibility led to the decision to put a virtual unknown in line for the presidency. McCain put our democracy at risk and he knows it.
I wish she’d just hole herself up Reille Hunter style and have another illustrious image emerge with no effort on her part. She could actually redeem herself just sitting down and shutting up, eternally given undue credit for how she conducted herself in any office, on the campaign trail, post-resignation and as a faux pundit in the annals of history.
I still look back at the one speech I saw her give to a group of some 200 Alaskans, shortly after she started as our surprise Governor – and though her speech wasn’t as (what is now trademark) wordsalady, it did not make any sense – and the adulation she recieved from the crowd was uncalled for. Frightening. But she’s got an uncanny gift, to be the ‘it’ girl, to be whatever you want her to be.
When you’ve got no public record, your issues and platform is sliver thin, it’s easy to project your hopes, dreams or ire against that person.
@23 {{{boodog}}} I agree with you. I want her to go away also, too, wearing the latest fashion, orange jumpsuit and silver chains
This cannot happen fast enough. The country needs to be released from her vile rhetoric, dishonesty, and blatant lies – not to mention her hypocrisy and poutrage.
I so love the calmness, intelligence, graciousness of our President Obama!
The Establishment GOP isn’t deeply divided! Even Jeb Bush, the Decider’s brother, emerged from seclusion to remind anyone not paying attention that Palin is an ignorant “moran”.
She also has enough skeletons in her closet to sink a battle ship.
I will be happy to watch the real GOP contenders tear her to bits in the primaries. Think about how the Dem boys ganged up on Hilary in the Philadelphia debate. Now think about how Scarah would have handled that. Downright gory mess, I think.
Deeply Divided? People are learning Sarahthink–scary.
No, I am very afraid of 2000 over again. there are enough non-thinking people who would vote for her and I could not stand her speechifying! If the Repugs have any sense at all, they will find someone qualified to run. Hah! Just want some civility back in government. It’s been too long gone.
I don’t want Sarah to run….can’t stand the thought of listening to her to for the duration of a campaign. If Sarah is running in 2012, I hope she is running on the backroads of Alaska (hear she is quite a jogger).
“Deeply Divided” could have been a typo. Maybe the headline writer intended “Deeply Dubious,” because to head it “Poll shows little support from Alaskans for Palin Presidential Run ” probably would have been considered editorializing (if the papers owners were Republican Palin suporters, for instance.)
THAT pinched, mean face with McDonald arch eyebrows is not going to run for Pres, but as long as she hints around the money keeps rollin’ in. Lazy Granny Palin doesn’t want real responsibility or work.
Polls, unless adjusted for Alaska’s unique demographics and rural population w/o phones, just don’t give me any confidence in their accuracy. We just don’t fit the norm. However, if you polled Juneau, the answer would be “Incompetent Twit”.
On first thought I wanted her to run for President, just because she would make it so much easier for any reasonable, competent person to win. However, on second thought, I’m with boodog. I want her to be properly punished for her behavior, and I want her out of range of microphones and tv cameras. Others are right. It is time to move on toward the era of civil discussion and constructive, collective problem solving.
Go coffee party!

However, if you polled Juneau, the answer would be “Incompetent Twit”.
————
Is that Juneau’s nice way of saying ‘f–king idiot’?
Oh dear, I see that wasn’t a headline, it was the lead sentence of a paragragh!
My word, what is journalism coming to.
But is this true? Does she really only get 17% in the poll? What a wipeout.
Are the folks who don’t like Sarah’s “contributions” to American political affairs the only ones still interested in her? Her remaining supporters are looking like a fringe group if those results hold water.
Excellent, if scary, commentary on this very topic:
Frank Rich – The Axis of the Obsessed and Deranged – NYTimes.com
http://www.nytimes.com/2010/02/28/opinion/28rich.html
So what’s the next act, “The Glenn and Sarah Show”?
Where is my Alaska Fund Trust Quarterly Report ya big retarded liar?
The more she talks and offers her opinions, the more people are seeing her for what she is – utterly unqualified for high office. She’s a one trick pony. It seems that she has her message honed down to a few catchy phrases and positions and 40 minutes of blather.
Great idea to tell the Tea Party folks they needed to sign on with the Democrats or the Republicans. The whole point of their existence is that they don’t like the two parties. Very perceptive observation on O’Reilly about 10 days ago when she suggested that President Obama could increase his street cred by doing something like, oh maybe, I don’t know, attacking Iran.
Bush 41 was stupid and largely disinterested and was easily “handled” by Cheney, Rove, Wolfowitz and their cronies. The handlers who think Sarah would be the same do so at their own peril. I think Bush had much more self-awareness that she ever will. He knew his limitations and just sort of laughed them off.
Sarah thinks God has a plan for her and she’s just going along for the ride, waitin’ for all those doors to open for her. I think she’d go all mavericky on Murdoch and Malek and Kristol, etc. at the drop of a hat.
Plus she has more baggage than the belly of a 747.
Thanks but no thanks for her being on the ballot in 2012. My ears just recently stopped bleeding from the last election.
I had to vote for “you betcha” just because it would be absolutely hilarious to see President Obama try to keep a straight face in a debate with Granny $arah.
I doubt she’ll make it that far though. Even the most conservative polls show a landslide victory for Obama in a race against her- and before she gets that far she needs to survive the primary challenge. As much as she likes to play victim of attacks from the liberal media and the Whitehouse- the truth is they’ve treated her with kid gloves. And while she’s focused on what the liberal bloggers are saying about her she fails to see that the hardest hits are going to come from the right- the Republican establishment knows the Empress has no clothes and they’ll make sure to expose her in the ugliest way possible.
I meant Bush 43.
I voted in this poll, ‘hell no.’ IMO, the thought of S’error having the air time to stir up the already roiling fear of perceived retribution (rabid racism, Islamophobia, homophobia, etc.) is unconscionable for the good of this nation. An idiocracy is not the path that we choose for this democratic republic. Mediocrity should not be rewarded.
Ms. Todd Palin’s ‘gates’ should (I hope) gobble her up and deposit her and her dishonest minions into the federal penal system and save us from John McCains self-serving ‘Country First’ selection of the pitbull with lipstick upon an unsuspecting public.
Lord have mercy on us.
Alaska is not like other states in many ways, but one which I note over and over again is that people are very disconnected from politics on the whole. We don’t pay state income tax, and we are spread out all over the place, and a lot of residents are just not aware of local or state politics. A lot of us are living out in the middle of nowhere. A lot of us make a living with our own businesses or subsistence endeavors. We may never meet, or even have much of a chance to meet, our state representatives unless we are urban Alaskans.
I just cracked up when a friend from TX was flying to Juneau a few days ago – but didn’t actually arrive for another two days while stuck in Sitka due to fog. While at the airport, with lots of stranded Alaskans (not many tourists in Feb!), she struck up conversations all over the place. One Alaskan pointed out that she was pretty sure that was Hollis French over there, too, also, trying to get to Juneau. My friend from TX, never having visited here before, responded with “Wow, isn’t that the Senator who is one of the contenders for Governor?”. The Alaskan woman, while a friend of hers chimed in with agreement, stated “Oh not him. Begich and Murkowski are our Senators. He’s something else… (some word I’m not sure of).”
There ya go! I laughed and told her “Now do you see why it’s possible this state voted in a Palin and gave her an 80% good guy rating? Many of us didn’t even know who she was, not even that she was our Governor. Many of us didn’t vote. Many of us don’t know civics and gov’t structure. Many of us understand tribal more thoroughly than state and federal government. Many of us were completely disconnected from the whole process and it was all just kind of a fog over the mountains…”
This is much of why I don’t believe polls not adjusted and studied for Alaskan idiosyncrasies are accurate here.
I still said no, because I am just so darned tired of all things Palin. The thought of that voice spewing those lies through another campaign is just too much.
Of course she should run. I giggle at the thought of her in a Republican Primary where she can’t hide. The Mavericky Lady has only done two serious interviews in her life and they are gems. In what respect, Charlie. I’ll have to get back to you on that, Katie.
I’m with those who wants to see $P do the perp walk. Those in AK state govt should reveal her machinations, contributions from crooks in the oil and gas industry, and how the entire industry is mired in corruption, although I doubt any of her real crimes will ever see the light of day.
I don’t want this Grifter to have access to real voters who want this country to get back on the right path with Pres Obama at the helm (remember, it took Reagan 28 mos to get the unemployment rate below 10% which climbed after he took office, but think this president should wave a magic wand and create jobs without any effort from the private sector who simply want more govt welfare for themselves and do it in a year. Those $P attracts are the same kind of racist, armed, grifting tax dodgers who have historically sat on the sidelines during elections, or if they did vote, were woefully ignorant and uninformed about the people for whom they voted. They’re the kind of “me first” types who could give a flying fig about future generations and those in real need as long as they get theirs, and use god, guns and greed as their rallying cry.
It’s taken them some time, but the Republican Party has become a den thieves from Wall St. to Main St, and their supporters, non-thinking ideologues who have no reasoning ability, don’t mind sinking many of us into deep poverty and despair with no chance of having a decent life as long as THEY get what THEY want.
i continue to believe that the discussion of “will sarah run” is an insult to the american political process. it is an insult to all ambitious polticians who have actually gone to work on their vita and have accumulated serious bonafides. it is an insult to our nation’s creditors and to our working citizenry. no one deserves to suffer the language mangler who still to this day cannot keep from screeching. no one needs to spend countless hours trying to assemble the dissasembled manic crap that spews from her mouth. seriously. no more.
Hey Sarah, how’s that 17% thing workin’ out for ya?
I understand the “you betcha” votes. But I’m also very fond of saying – be careful what you wish for. It seems impossible that someone as nutty and inept as Palin could beat Obama, no matter what is going on in the country or the world. But then who would have thought we could get landed with George W. Bush – twice! And I never in my wildest dreams believed that we would have a president that was a B movie star who, granted, gave great speeches (isn’t that what actors are supposed to be able to do?), but who had the reputation of falling asleep in cabinet meetings. And still, people bang on about how fabulous he was.
I want to see a serious candidate from both sides. I want Obama to run again but I want him to have an intelligent thoughtful opponent, not someone who makes a mockery of our political system and of our country.
Oh, and one more thing. I don’t think we necessarily need to have a repub as the next candidate running against Obama in 2012. There are some independents out there who are intelligent and well-informed – much more so than the rising stars of the republican party, which continues to underwhelm me with their stale rhetoric. (And I am not talking about Lieberman – please, make him go away. He needs to retire and find a new hobby.)
I voted “Hell No” because I shudder at the divisiveness she creates. Yes, I’d love to see Romney, Pawlenty et al destroy her but that means putting up with her trouble making for three more years. If the MSM showed any signs that they will assume responsibility for vetting her, I might go along with “You Betcha” but they don’t. The NY Times edits out the critical line in Andrea Friedman’s email and doesn’t report on the Todd Palin emails at all. The Washington Post publishes her claptrap op eds and David Broder’s swooning. Yes, the Times had to walk back their editing but the original story indicates what the party line is.
JCos @ 10:49 – “How I Vet Your Mother” – lol!
BTW, I do not want to see her run and we all know there is no way she wants to work that hard for any “title.”
We are all very aware of who she is…but the MSM in an attempt to buoy up their flagging sales, is quite happy to promote her as a legitimate candidate. They are the major problem. My God, the whole world is laughing at her, and the American MSM continues to promote her. Head banging desk!!!
I say absolutely. Just think of all the campaign money the dems would save while she’s out running around the country. All the while, Obama is sitting in the whitehouse watching her on tv giggling to himself.

Promotion absolutely is the stuff of celebrity–not talent, knowledge or ability.
Look at popular culture–someone like $P, Beck or Limbaugh can easily jump on the bandwagon, the same way a talentless “singer” can use autotune or a “reality” show “star” can lie, cheat or steal on TV, or plastic big-boobed empty head parading around half-naked can get the attention of many people. Look at what half of Huffington Post’s output is all about.
Celebrity is 95% chutzpah and maybe 5% talent, if that. Attitude is more important than knowledge or any other quality people used to admire.
“She does seem to bring in a lot of money for the candidates she supports, but she also polarizes the debate so much that she brings in just as much for the opponent.”
There’s got to be a sit com series in that. Kind of like a manic political PushMePullYou from Dr. Doolittle. Of the coyote in the Road Runner.
I’m thinking of running for president and wearing a clown costume for all my public appearances. If anyone asks why, I’ll say that I’m trying to level the playing field of the republican/tea baggy candidates.
Oh Canadian Mudpuppies! What a game!
Canada just won hockey in overtime.

i heartily agree.
“In a stunning reversal of support, a new poll of voters in Alaska, where Sarah Palin served as governor, shows no ambivalence about whether they think their ex-chief executive should run for the White House. Not only was a mere 17% supportive of a presidential run, but 43% now believe she should stay out of politics altogether.”
When we start seeing leads like this in USA Today, then we’ll know that the coast is clear.
Fan From Chicago
Plus she has more baggage than the belly of a 747.
Speeking of the belly of a 747. Somebody should ask the RNC if their inventory of her freebee wardrobe included checking the closets of her two lake side homes at the other lake’s side.
I voted yes.
1. She’d surely lose so Sarah running would guarantee Obama a second term.
2. It would be highly entertaining. I’d LOVE to watch that debate. Obama would wipe the floor with her.
I don’t think all of the corporate artificial persons in the world could buy her the presidency. But it would be great to get their money back into the economy. Their simply trying to buy her the presidency would put plenty of cash back into the hands of ordinary Americans. (Who will still vote against her.)
I want her to quit politics! She has been such a divisive figure for me and our country. I have way too many friends and family who still can’t see the forest for the trees regarding her and she has caused a lot of bad feelings among us.
And on a happier (though somewhat sadder) note, congrats to Canada! Awesome!!!
I want her to run………..can you see her on stage with the other gop’ers fighting for the nomination.
What size of hand will she need for THAT!!
All the scrutiny she would be under would kill her AND their is nothing nastier than a gop race………remember what Bush’s campaign did to McCain?
They said he had a black “love” child and long time mistress, when in fact he and his wife had ADOPTED two black children!
What would they do with $arah’s fake pregnancy?
Just a run for the nomination would expose all of her skeletons, she would have a melt-down like the witch in The Wizard of OZ………..lol
Here’s a passing thought.
The Republican Congress persons, almost all males. Most if not all are vain as anything. Would they, if it seriously looked like a headstrong willfull female might actually become head of their party, not cut her off at the knees? Give tepid verbal support but tell their big donors to hold off on their donations?
They were disembowling Hillary back in Bill’s first run and it was mostly sexist insults of the most disgusting kinds. Would they not, in the end, turn on any female who might gain real power over them?
HELL NO…i don’t want her to run….I just want her to disappear…
I had to vote ‘hell, no’. The thought of having to listen to that no-nothing, shrieking, divisive cretin for two or three years is enough to make me want to slit my wrists.
I want to see the Republicans run a more serious, more qualified candidate. One who really understands hard work.
Is Joe the Plumber still available??????????
I certainly don’t want her to run. Whatever amusement factor there might be would wane quickly.
I want her out of politics because I want my old life back.
aaahhhh, c’mon guys !!! Think of the FUN we’d have watching her wink and wave across the stage in those short skirts and monkey shoes !! The bumper stickers and t-shirt businesses will just go thru the roof – palin kids with ” My Mom went to Iowa, and all I got was this T-Shirt”, Moose Burgers would be all the rage, and bumpit sales would sky rocket…SNL and Tina Fey skits, those bobble head dolls would be worth money, and EVERYONE would want an Artic Cat jacket !! The chance to make a buck off of the Republican lemmings is just mind boggling !! “I can see “fill-in-the-country” from my front porch” stickers, “I want to call a friend” ( does she have any left?).. OMG ! the possibilities are endless, Shannyn’s show would go National, AKM would be a regular guest on KO, CD would be a celeb, and Andree would end up as a pundit panel commentator!! Face it, if she ends up with pink handcuffs and Armani jumpsuit, things will quiet down, people will actually THINK about what in the heck we have to do to get out of this mess we’re in as a nation, and the Palinbots will have to go back to Sunday School and re-read the bible about “Love thy neighbor”, and put it into practice…
I will without question vote for Sarah Palin to be President of the United Sates of America… in the primaries.
I said yes because I want to see the half term half wit’s own party eviscerate her on a national level. And believe me they will, they’ve already tired of her.
She’s a tool that’s outlived her usefulness.
I believe that Palin will be the presidential candidate for the
Tea Party which by then will be a national party; many
Conservative elected representatives, in the congress and
senate, Will change party affiliation to the Tea Party. I know
far fetched but that is My prediction.
I also (and, too) don’t want to see Sarah Run! The fact that she’s been taken even a tiny bit seriously has made me sputter and choke on my wine. She’s a nobody and to even have her be in an election with President Obama makes me roll my eyes so far back that I’ve discovered my original hair color. If she ran it would be like watching a race between Jesse Owens and Billy Barty. No offense to Billy Bary, but he did have pretty short legs.
I’m with Pat on this. I want to see a worthy opponent. I want to see ideas and intellegence (and I want to see pigs fly, too). However, I think the Republicans are putting Mrs. Palin out there so that when they finally bring a very mediocre Republican on as a candidate, other Republicans will vote for them simply because they are NOT Sarah Palin.
And yeah, I don’t want to hear anymore ear-splitting, screeching word salad ever again.
Hell, no!
If the entertainment-bloated American electorate settles for the cheap thrills of a political circus, then they deserve the clowns who come looking for a job. People with integrity, character, and intelligence are not going to subject themselves to the sordid process of these types of politics.
If we want the political process to have integrity, we have to give our attention to candidates with integrity…..or everyone loses in the long run.
The idea of having to listen her voice during an election is horrible for me to contemplate. I would have to stop watching any TV or listening to the radio. I just want her to go away. She has done enough damage in that we can’t travel anywhere and identify ourselves as Alaskans without people saying something about her. She is an embarrassment. I am appreciative when I tell someone I am from Alaska and they don’t mention her. How about the mountains, animals and the beauty of Alaska? She is not funny and the idea that she might run for Pres is not funny. Her distain for education and science, and her probable replacement of them by religion is frightening. We would be thrust back into the dark ages. Doesn’t she have enough money yet?
Next to the most pleasant proposition of the Perp Walk, the second best is that Palin runs from the Mary Kay Party. Think about it. It’s already a marketing bonanza, she’ll get all the free make-up she needs to maintain the botoxed, lasered and silicone-filled face, and she’ll get to drive a lovely pink Cadillac. What more could she ask for?
Sarah Palin: Think Pink
I fall into the hell, no! camp. I want to see her do the perp walk.
A teeny history lesson, for those who don’t remember why John McCain’s people “chose” Buttercup Quittypants: Polls in AK indicated that Obama might carry Alaska, and AK’s electoral vote (yes, but one) would go to the blue team.
This would have been, in their estimate, too much of an embarrassment. Thus, the hail mary pass/crapshoot/choose your own cliched metaphor. It wasn’t just that McCain confused having an election with having an erection. (She’s disgusting, but her legs look good in pantyhose & heels under a miniskirt.)
May she soon be indicted, along with her pet Toad. The kids are raising themselves, anyway, & by now probably regard her as their personal ATM (you know, the way she sees the Amurrikan public), not their mother.
Health and peace. Anyone coming to chat?
The sooner Sarah Palin is out of the running for anything, even speach screeching and thigh rubbing in public – the sooner Piper goes back to school, the sooner the Palin family, hopefully, will take the raising and teaching of a DS seriously as their adult responsibility.
I sure want her to contest against Obama in 2012. This is an easy way for him to secure 2012. She is sure to self-destruct in the campaign, not so much in the primaries, because the primaries are filled with GOP codes, which do not directly relate to people. And this alienation from the public will only be perpetuated by a Palin ticket in 2012. Bad for the Republicans to fall in the same trap, but somehow it seems they are not able avert the Medusa’s gaze. Good for the country, though.
Seriously, if Palin ran with competition, the competition would have to pander heavily to her rabble. If she does not run, not so much pandering would be necessary.
Obama said just this week in their conference – “The fact of the matter is that many of you, if you voted with the administration on something, are politically vulnerable in your own base, in your own party,..”
They are in that position because they think they need to pander to the fringe right. Sarah’s base.
Whatever a candidate for nomination would have to promise in order to get that support in the primaries, either they as POTUS or the Republicans in Congress would have to deliver enough to keep them on the hook.
That is what the Repubs are doing in Congress now. Pandering to the right wing fringe and delivering to them as much as they can. That is what Republican Governors and legislators, etc. are doing right now.
The less Sarah, less Beck, less BillO and Rush, the better.
I voted “yes” for two reasons. First, I think it would guarantee a victory by Obama, especially as more and more of America would be exposed to her general incompetence and shortcomings. Second, I would love to see her go through the political grinder without the protection afforded her as VP candidate with McCain. Frankly, she was treated with kid gloves no matter what she thinks. But in the carnivorous arena of the presidential run she would either quit halfway through (as though that is a novel concept for her) or she would go into a flaming tailspin of being unable to deal in a mature and intelligent way with the issues, the people, and the circumstances. I strongly suspect she would finally garner the intense ignominy of which she is so deserving.
I am in the “hell yes” camp. In fact, I’m going to pull a “Rush”, and change my party affiliation and do my damnedest to help her win the primary
(For those of you who don’t know, Rush promoted this tactic in 2008…his goal was to help Hilary win. He thought the “republics” would have a better chance in beating her vs Obama.)
I have to vote ‘no’ because I am uncertain as to the intelligence of the American public at this point in our history. There are enough people who think ‘she’s hot’ and would fall for anything she says that the risk is simply too great.
I say Yes because The “Republic” party will never let her progress. They will tear her to pieces in the primaries and I think the media will finally expose her for the fraud she is. This is the only way she is ever going to finally be out of politics. She will be skewered by the GOP and the media, not to mention what the Democrats will bring to the table.
Lol #89! Your comment “It wasn’t just that McCain confused having an election with having an erection.” was a good one.
she brings in a lot of money to these rodeo round-up’s b/c she’s a freak show!..it’s NOT b/c she’s interesting or has important outlooks on life …she’s simply an instigator, and some people love to be stirred up-it’s the only emotion they’re familiar with.
I saw a theatre production of ‘Culture Clash in Americca’ today…fantastic/hilarious! …they even incorporated the palin hand reading trick.
I voted —-Hell No!!
I am sick of this woman. I can’t understand how she can be asked to be on the Jay Leno show tomorrow night. There are so many people that I thought were intelligent, still defend this woman. She is like a cult that keeps dragging people into her web. She reminds me of the tragedy Jim Jones created. All were sucked into a nightmare. I feel that people who run for political office should meet a certain criterion. This slick chick has run under the radar long enough. Hopefully someone will bring the hammer down soon.
Enough of this farce.
“I voted “Hell No” because I shudder at the divisiveness she creates. ”
That is why I voted “HELL NO” as well. She’s too much of an ugly, hateful individual and we really don’t need any more of that – especially right now.
Plus, no matter how little chance she has of winning, she’d still have a chance. One I’d rather not take in her running. (envisioning a flashback of Bush, ugh)
By the way, with the 83%/17% poll; this will be scolled across the TV sceen endlessly, right? I mean, surely the so-called “liberal media” will do their part in informing the public of that result. They constatly tell us what she writes in her Facebook, I’m sure they will do the same for this, right? Right???
@Lacy Lady
I agree whole-heartedly with your palin-cult-web connection & the mental health test for political office should be a requirement…the senate would never pass it though. :O
I don’t want palin anywhere near the 2012 or beyond…you just never know what could backfire…this is no joke!
I voted hell no. I’m sick of this brainless babbling idiot who thinks she’s smart enough to be POTUS. Like Lacy Lady said “Enough of this farce.”
I vote no. I’m with those who want serious candidates. Palin is an insult to the thinking public (as are many politicians unfortunately). Alas, there is a great deal of the public that doesn’t think. As ‘overthemoon’ and others have already said, I too, am uncertain about the intelligence of the American voter. I don’t want Palin taken seriously at all.
Anything resembling a nomination for even dog catcher would validate this woman and what she stands for. Her campaign stops last time were pep rallies for racism, violence and ignorance. If she runs next time, be prepared for her to ramp all this up. Her joy in life seems to be getting people riled up. This is the last thing we need for our next election. I realize she also provides entertainment but I think she is way too dangerous to promote as a way to promote re-election of Obama. I had a friend who went south to register blacks to vote in 1964. She never came back. She died down there under what I consider suspicious circumstances. Do we want to return to what came before Civil Rights? Already we have national public figures saying things like blacks were better off under slavery than they are now. Come on! Do we want to even suggest someone like Sarah is legitimate? This is the say nothing of the ignorance, science denying, self-righteous stances she also promotes. We need to get our country back.
Do we want to give Sarah a remotely legitimate platform to promote her vindictive and judgmental religion? I sure don’t. Do we want to give her a podium to fan the science deniers and destroy the environment folks? I sure don’t. Her presence in any public forum gives credibility to all of that. Do we want to go back to the 16th century? I sure don’t.
Let’s consider the following…
1. The Supreme Court wraps up the Presidency with a pretty red, white and blue bow and presents it to George Bush in 2000, despite the popular vote going to Gore and many still-unanswered questions regarding the validity of the electoral votes from Florida.
2. Sen. Jim Bunning (R-KY) puts a hold on an emergency bill to extend unemployment and COBRA benefits, which was passed by a vote of 99 to 1. His home state has an umeployment rate higher than the national average and this will affect thousands of his own constituents. There is a distinct possibility that those whose benefits expired today will no longer be considered eligible even if the bill is passed tomorrow. When asked by numerous members of both parties to reconsider his hold, his response is “Tough sh!t”
3. The Republican minority in the Senate, motivated purely by partisanship, has filibustered 209 bills that have passed in the House with Republican votes, essentially bringing the work of Congress to a screeching halt. Many of these bills were sponsored and/or supported by Republicans.
We’ve all seen how much damage the minorities in politics have caused in recent years, even when they are outnumbered by large margins. I shudder to think how much damage Palin could do to an already injured political system if she should run for President. Even running in the primary would do nothing but spread more hate and fear around the country, when what we need is hope and change.
I think I have a new pet name for her:
Georgia Wallace.
One thing is good. The racism in this country is really hard to wipe out if it isn’t noticeable. Palin and her ilk have given it a face once again (aided, of course, by having run a black man<> as a legitimate contender and winner as the most powerful leader in the world.
Yes, many people can’t stand that. And, yes, they need to be exposed to be eradicated.
The Tea Party, like George Wallace’s followers, may not always be racists, but are taken in by the code language–like socialism, communism, fascism, etc.etc.–and hide behind other code words like creationism, pro life, core values.
Lest anyone forget, the “core values” this country was founded upon included a “property owner” test to be able to vote. You also had to be free, male, and pretty much white. Ballots were in English.
I certainly cannot imagine another go-round of Palin on the campaign trail, what with her hateful rhetoric, distortions and outright lying. Some were beginning to get close to violence with her doing nothing but smiling and smirking but not attempting to calm them down. She has a large (and ever-growing) base of culties. The majority of those rightwing fringers were probably never involved in any political events, and rarely (if ever) voted. However, if Palin was on the ballot, she does stand a chance of getting many votes from those disaffected teabaggers.
Palin has set her own rules from the beginning. People have mentioned that she wouldn’t do well in a debate and wouldn’t be able to answer reporters questions without making a fool of herself. There are no laws that state a political candidate MUST debate, or agree to interviews. If Palin by some off chance did get the nomination, I can see her refusing to debate and refusing any but those softball interviews by her FOX cohorts.
There are several groups who already back her, and more than her ‘bots, those individuals and groups with large dollars at their disposal……….and those are the ones we need to fear.
With Palin’s hat in the ring it would certainly skew the vote in the other direction. I am starting to wonder if she really is a Deep Cover Democratic operative.
GG2C – My guess is that her veneer has been rubbed off and that, this time around, if she does run, she’s going to be hit from all directions and damage will be done. The left, the “hater bloggers” , the GOP, the unhappy Tea Party folks, those that were thrown under the bus, etc. I think the internet will light up like a pinball machine if she goes anywhere near an actual run. ( at least that’s what I tell myself so I can sleep at night !)
I don’t know how anyone could be so ambivalent about this woman’s incompetence as to put her popularity into the double digits.
If she has the balls to run let her run and make a fool out of herself, I for one would get a kick out of her debates.
Commentator: Is the world a safer place since 911, and if not how could we promote peace to other countries?
POTUS: To promote peace in this world we would have to respect our neighbors and have them to respect us. While full protection of this country is imminent 365 days a year.
Sarah Palin: I think the rest of the world states and their presidents will want to have the peacey thing as soon as I am president or we will invade them and protect Isreal, because without that we cannot go on in this great state of America. And may I add that we will succeed from this great state as soon as I am president and build a state only for true Americans.
I vote you betcha, although I also think it is almost certain that she won’t run.
My reasoning is:
1. If she runs as a Republican, she will lose badly in most primaries. I think this would be the most effective means of getting her the hell out of the public spotlight.
2. I do not dismiss the possible influence of the Tea Partiers (see how polite I can be?), but I believe that their public image is disproportionate to their numbers. (I also think that eventually even some of the “hard-core” are going to realize that “cutting entitlements” doesn’t mean “welfare”, it means Medicare and Social Security.) To win the primary, she would have to get the majority of Republican votes in at least some large states.
3. If she runs as a third-party candidate, it should neatly guarantee a Democratic victory. Unfortunately, it might not doom her to future irrelevance.
And, if she does get elected President, it will be a clear indication that the End of Days is at hand, and I suppose we ought to know as soon as possible.
I’d love to see Palin run…….. away!
my ancestors escaped from dictatorship to this country…I am too old & broke to pick up and go anywhere if palin, in some bizarro world, becomes …well, I just can’t say it…maybe the U.S. can secede from her rein, and she will be left to rule AK once again…and they lived happily ever after. Amen.
R’ipley….lol! Me too. Run away! Can’t help but think of Monty Python on that one.
As much as I’d like to see her run and LOSE big-time, I really don’t want to go through all that cr@p again. (Oh goodness, please don’t make me do that.)
Sorry guys, I voted HELL NO!
Our country needs some SERIOUS candidates! We need to get back to respecting our historical and political roots! We’ve lost that respect.
Just look at how Congress is operating ……… Our elected leaders need to listen to the folks they represent ……..
and Ms$P certainly isn’t a good candidate.
The USA Today “deeply divided” comment kind of epitomizes what is dreadfully wrong with the MSM. The only reason Palin is still lingering on the national stage is that folks like those at USA Today haven’t gotten the memo that America realizes that Palin is a divisive phony, a grifter, and a moron and we just want her to go away. If Palin wasn’t being propped up by FauxNews, USA Today, and others who seem to have a pathological need her mean spirited, psychotically perky, and imbecilic drivel, she would simply be another failed has been politician brought down by her own hubris and utter stupidity.
Memo to USA Today: we are SO over Sarah Palin. Let it go. Move on, there’s nothing to see here.
USA Today is an example of the conservative bias of the MSM.
I loathe USA Today, almost as much as CNN.
I vote ‘Hell NO”. Sarah is nothing but irritation and bad news. She needs to go away, for the good of the country.
there are 2 groups of people i do not trust enough to want to see that happen: one, the MIC/neocon machine, and two, the american people. think gw. i have to say i am shocked at the results of your poll AKM. did i really just see 56% for you betcha?? how quickly we forget that the polls are not secure.
I just wish Palin would go away. The folks that dislike her will continue to dislike her and her supporters will still like her.
No way. The less of her and her ilk the better. This is politics, not entertainment![if that is the kind of entertainment one seeks, ahem]
Want more of this too?
http://promotionsforlife.files.wordpress.com/2009/12/glenn-beck-arguing-with-idiots.jpg
Thanks, but no thanks, Ugh. Time to kick dimwits out and give them no credence. Watching their shows gives numbers to the broadcaster who continues to promote them and their ‘show’, which is support. For what good?
What #58 Upper West Sider pointed out.
Yes, the Times had to walk back their editing but the original story indicates what the party line is.
and what #62 grandma68 points out
Look at popular culture–someone like $P, Beck or Limbaugh can easily jump on the bandwagon, the same way a talentless “singer” can use autotune or a “reality” show “star” can lie, cheat or steal on TV, or plastic big-boobed empty head parading around half-naked can get the attention of many people. Look at what half of Huffington Post’s output is all about.
I totally agree with grandma68, especially Huffpo. What trash. My comment to AKM’s article on Bristol’s ‘acting’ debut was modded out. Because I slagged one BelindaBlue. I sent a query why my comment wasn’t posted. Seems they were ad hominem statements/attacks. No kidding. I’ve read worse. Bah humbug! Funny how they sent my comment back highlighting the egregious parts:
Grifter is a no no, Bristol inadvertently promoting STD’s because she doesn’t promote condom use, psychopathic delusional parents…. the fact I mentioned the show sucks donkey langers was ok!
No more support for Murdoch’s empire building…
“Murdoch has a long and sordid history of discarding the accepted norms of honest journalism in order to advance his own political and corporate agenda,” wrote Eric Boehlert, a senior fellow at Media Matters in America, in a statement published on the progressive media watchdog group’s website.
Here’s another one with the same far away stare with ‘issues’ that are without merit.
http://www.nytimes.com/2010/02/28/us/politics/28keli.html?hp
Stunning in their vacuousness and their ability to garner ‘support’.
That was a great hockey game and team USA put a hella scare into the Canadians. I still think Ryan Miller is a hella goalie. Keeps the Buffalo Sabres in the game a lot! Too funny [ok, maybe not really] that the management and coaching duo of Burke and Wilson are the same duo for my city’s NHL team, whom are in the basement and are pathetic to watch. HA!
This woman is wholly and completely unqualified to hold the office of president, or any other elected office as far as I am concerned. Her critical thinking and intellectual depth is striking in someone who is being touted to run for higher office. She is really stupid.
But what is even more telling are the ranks of those who would even seriously considering her efforts to be worthy of support. Leno should be ashamed of himself by offering her another platform to spew her ridiculous word salad all over the tube by giving her a forum to utter more nonsense. It is this type of behavior that leads others to believe she has something to offer when in fact she is an empty headed twit whose looks have garnered national attention rather than anything of substance overall.
“Palingates” has a video up showing her dedicating the state of Alaska to god which is another attempt to mix politics and religion into the mix, one of the most dangerous issues at hand today.
For anyone to offer her more opportunity to showcase her stupidity and vacant answers is criminal. To treat her as if she were viable is a direct insult to the intelligence of those of us who see the danger in Sarah Palin and shudder at the thought that she could have the security of the nation in her hands. Absurd.
Hey, don’t freak out about 56% voting for “You Betcha!’ That some – hell, most – voted in this VERY unscientific poll for Palin to run against President Obama does not mean that actually want her to WIN. I think it means just the opposite. If Palin were to run against Obama it would be an absolute certainty that Obama was reelected and by the largest popular and electoral margins in history.
I voted in this poll for Palin to run and if she really does, I’ll even send a small contribution to help her. If she runs on the GOP ticket, the party is over, literally. Palin would display the meanness, racism, fear, and imbecility which characterize her and her followers. This is a message that will NOT sway more Americans than it already has.
Palin is a narcissistic moron and she is also self destructing. She worries me not in the least. However, if the GOP, or any other conservative group is stupid enough to nominate her as their candidate for POTUS, it will expose them as reckless buffoons. In that it would marginalize conservatism even more than it is isolated today, this would be a good thing.
Gasman, one of our local NPR stations just had a segment about Leno and his guests this week and did NOT mention $P. At all.
SP loves being divisive. Makes her feel all mavericky. Can you imagine trying to run a serious campaign with that, and her media machine, as an opponent. You can have a great time at a picnic, but the flies are annoying. Same with Sarah, her candidacy would ensure victory for her opponent, but her constant drivel would drive me crazy. I voted hell no. Even as I want her to go away, I cannot avert my eyes.
Mudflats & Mudpuppies forever!
Gasman all your points were valid and on target but as bad as SP is there is an excuse – she’s ignorant and doesn’t know or care to change. The fault lies in the public and power brokers who support her for this very reason. I understand there are “believers” out there but Faux isn’t, Murdoch isn’t and a great many other supporters are not sitting at SP’s feet eager to catch each pearl of wisdom that falls from her lips – they want her stupid, they want her mallable and they are willing to sell the country down the river to get power. That’s treason. I don’t completely absolve SP – I am not a brilliant person, I have definite limits on what I do and don’t know – it is a mark of SPs stupidity that she doesn’t even know what she doesn’t know and doesn’t care. We had 8 years of “gut” with W and we are barely afloat. I think she is in this for the money, for the money, for the money and her ego getting pandered is a big plus and she is shallow enough to believe whatever she is told about herself – the entire family is this way and won’t change until they are outed and I hope it happens soon.
She’s gonna use the result of your poll to tout her prospects. Course, she won’t tell the baggers that most people who voted “for” her are hoping she’ll get her biscuits handed to her by the likes of Romney, Pawlenty, etc.
I agree with 100% Lemon722.
of subject question but the thought strikes me, but, if these appostles get a divorvce, are they still brother and sister?
Deeply divided? 83% v. 17%? lol, I don’t know how the reporter that wrote that can keep their job. So not deeply, the Alaskans have spoken, very clear winner, Alaska and the rest of the states are seeing Palin for what she is.
She’s a bigtime quitter, we don’t need that.
Lemon722,
We are agreed that Palin is a moron. If she were a growing political force I would be concerned about her, but she is not. She is so obviously feckless, imbecilic, reckless, and hypocritical that she is even alienating the teabagger sheeple that should be her biggest supporters. She is more than willing to display abject fealty to Rush Limbaugh rather than defend her DS child. THAT did not sit well with nearly ANYONE.
She couldn’t survive a scant eight week political campaign in which she was assiduously shielded from the press and you’d have us believe that she can take the rough and tumble of the GOP primaries? She can’t effectively engineer a regional bus/plane tour and she can be packaged as someone who can run for POTUS? She can’t run Wasilla without being propped up by others and she is going to be the most powerful leader in the free world?
I’m not seeing any of that at all. I think that Alaskan bloggers will have picked her carcass clean before she ever gets a chance to run for POTUS. I’ll certainly contribute to that process anyway that I can.
I’m sure that someone has commented on this, but the 2 poll questions don’t offer a clear choice. If I vote to have her included, it could be because I feel that it would help the Dems ( a negative view of her). If I say “hell no”, am I not also voicing a negative opinion of her? You might want to expand the poll to offer: 1. for her because I like her, 2. for her because it would help the Dems, 3. against her because she is unqualified, 4. against her because I am a Dem. Or such things.
btw – my vote would be 3. she is unqualified (there’s a Christian way of saying it).
Palin-Perry 2012. The only thing we have to fear is losing our minds
Maybe this poll was not worded right, and the results left some thinking that we wanted her to run because we supported her. NOT SO!!!!
Run another poll and ask the question in a way that would make clear why people voted for her to run.
We know she can’t win, we want to watch her fall on her face, while the dems win again.
But you know, after thinking about it, anything that keeps her in the public eye is just too much, let her be done now.
From the look on her face, she knows that her star is dimming and she is looking for all ways to save face…each way she chooses will fail because she always makes the wrong choice. Prime example was explaining she gave 7 speeches in 4 days and needed those palm notes to remember her CORE beliefs!! Save face? Not bloody likely.
One of these days she is going to rush right through one of those doors and it will be right at the edge of a cliff. Ooooops.
Gasman, daring Palin to run?
That’s like teasing a bull with a red cape. It will charge.
Instead of donating money to a losing cause [or so you think, but we don't know the outcome], why not hold those accountable and channel resources into why some got away with deceiving the public and abusing their power invested in them by the voting public so easily. Did I mention the Palins have yet to be charged with anything yet. They’re continuing to waving it in your face also, BTW.
Getting back to the outcome, we’ve seen her in action and the shadow puppet Toad [the emails from CrivellaWest] and one has to think, whom was handing these puppets their marching orders. We still don’t know that. They aren’t that bright to be doing all that on their own – or so you surmise. They were paid in toys, that’s visible, but who were those benefiting the most from their dealings. Where are they and why are they still there?
If you’re willing to put the nation into the toilet so quickly, answer some of my questions. These people [in the shadows] have been emboldened by the results witnessed by examples like Palin – McCain bought it or was told to suck it up. They know people will buy into a puppet hook, line and sinker. Just put lipstick on it, huh? I find that quite insulting.
You may want to rethink supporting lost causes, not by words but by actions.
What #132 Lemon722 stated, I reiterate.
we all get that she’s unqualified, but people waste their votes every day…writing in super heros and celebrities…pat paulsen, snoopy, etc. THIS is why I need her to go away and her frenzied fans to calm down and see the forest for the trees.
Quetzalcoatl,
You give Palin WAY too much credit. I give her none at all. She is a vain moron who is hopelessly addicted to the limelight. She is totally lacking in intellect, work ethic, character, honesty, and critical thinking skills. She is immature, petulant, petty, vindictive, and hopelessly insecure. Rod Blogojavich has a better chance of getting elected than she does. She has SO many skeletons in her closet that are ready to tumble out at any moment that there is NO WAY IN HELL she will get elected. I’m willing to bet that even IF she would somehow get nominated, she wouldn’t draw 10% nationally. Perot got almost 20%, but Perot actually made a certain amount of sense compared to Palin.
She is a babbling imbecile who makes less and less sense as time goes on. Instead of getting educated on policy issues, she actually seems to be getting dumber by the day. This is going to change when? Exactly when is she supposed to start ATTRACTING supporters instead of losing them? Her popularity is dropping like a stone. She’s losing the teabaggers as we speak, so how is she going to attract enough Democrats and Independents to roll into the White House? It ain’t gonna’ happen.
You need to have a Scotch – or whatever you drink – and relax. Palin is annoying to be sure, but she ain’t NEVER going to hold a national office. I’ll bet money on it.
The comments to this article scare me to death:
http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/news/tobyharnden/100027369/jeb-bush-on-sarah-palin-i-dont-know-what-her-deal-is/
We can NEVER let our guard down!
111 Baker’s Dozen Says: February 28th, 2010 at 8:18 PM
I think I have a new pet name for her: Georgia Wallace.
As a resident of that state, we have enough George and Georgia Wallaces here that truly deserve that ill-desired cross reference.
I plead for a change for GEORGETTE Wallace.
Channel the Mary Tyler Moore Show for why.
Lets face it, Scarah was in it for the noteriety, money, celebrity, etc. She is considered a half-governor by many, as well as a half-wit. She’s made some big bucks and loves the attention. Hopefully in a year or so, she will be on the shelf of history as one of the great comedies of the GOP and the t-baggers will have to look elsewhere for some other degenerate to lead them.
Hell to the NO! Really, haven’t we heard enough from this pathetic, inarticulate, word murderer??? Honestly, even knowing she comments on…well….anything and the MSM carries her inane jargon, is painful to the extreme. To think we’d have her stumpin’ around the good ole USofA to all the places where real Americans live just makes me ill.
If this woman (?) is nominated to be our president what a laughing stock we’ll be to the world! I hopey that the changey in 2012 will be 2 damn serious contenders that give us a real choice…I’d love not to be voting AGAINST someone – I want to vote FOR my President. Just like I did when I voted for Barack Obama the first time.
Gasman,
If this person is such an imbecile, how does one go from Mayor, arranges to redact building permits and build not only a sporting complex in a small town, but a fancy home [or 2 or 3] for herself and no one notices, much.
Then gets elected Governor. More money coming in the back door into her pocket from oil companies.
Then gets picked to run as VP.
How stupid is that? If indeed she’s such an imbecile, she sure continued to move into higher office. That’s my question, who is giving her the hand. One doesn’t get there on their own.
Be careful what you wish for.
