Voices from the Flats – Palin Lies on Leno

Sarah Palin’s penchant for duplicity followed her to Hollywood and the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, on which she predictably praised the Tea Party Movement and heralded “the fairness, the balance” at Fox News. She even did a stilted turn as a stand-up comic — dishing out sophomoric digs at Congress and the White House while joking about eating moose. Hardy har.
Palin’s appearance boosted Leno’s ratings and drew lots of ink from the very mainstream media that she so despises — though neither her host nor the dreaded MSM called her on a bold-faced lie she uttered in the middle of her cozy tete-a-tete with the newly recycled Leno.
Apparently, John McCain’s former running mate just can’t seem to help herself when it comes to doling out deceit.
Palin, of course, has made a career out of playing the victim, and she went into the act once again with Leno, whining about how her recent Family Guy imbroglio didn’t provide “an opportunity” for her “to follow up and kind of elaborate” on the issue.
Say what? She’s got a special slot as a “contributor” on Fox News, where the likes of Bill O’Reilly, Sean Hannity and her new tag-team partner Glenn Beck lob softballs to her while she’s standing in the snow in Wasilla. No opportunity, Ms. Palin? Really?
But the real lie came with her explanation of how the controversy got started. She claimed it began by…
a special-needs family asking me what I thought about the episode. I commented and then that gets out there in the blogosphere, it gets out there in the different forms of the mediums [sic] that we have today. And then it’s left there — not an opportunity for me to follow up and kind of elaborate on what I really meant and what I really thought of the thing.
She commented? It gets out there in the blogosphere? As if Palin played no role? While she may indeed have been asked “to comment,” Palin posted the Family Guy complaint on her Facebook page. She also posted a response from her daughter Bristol (who she wants the media “to leave alone.”) She then gave a very angry interview about it to Fox News. She’s the one who made it an issue. She’s the one who sent it “out there in the blogosphere.” And she has had every opportunity to follow up and elaborate — on her Facebook page, on Faux News, on Leno. And she never did. Not because she didn’t have the opportunity. But because she chose not to.
It’s yet another Palin lie.
Moreover, Dave Itzkoff of the New York Times pointed out that the paper “had previously sought comment from Ms. Palin about the Family Guy episode…but neither her press representative nor her political action committee replied to requests.” No opportunity? Who does she think she’s fooling?
It’s kind of like the “Bridge to Nowhere” which she didn’t oppose…then did oppose. She didn’t have the opportunity….but then she had the opportunity. And she didn’t take it — “to follow up and kind of elaborate” — whatever “kind of elaborate” means.

I don’t think that was the only lie. I didn’t watch, but understand that she claimed to have been “Mayor and City Manager” of Wasilla. She was not the City Manager. She hired a City Manager to handle the parts of the job that she wasn’t up to.
I also understand that she claimed her kids were “well adjusted”. I don’t know whether that was a lie or simply delusional.
So, how long until Palin begins defending New Yorks David Patterson for all those waste of time & money ethics complaints, filed, no doubt, by his opposition for no other reason than to watse the states resources ad time and, also, and yeah?

It seems that Leno’s show would be a good place to “kinda elaborate”. Obviously, an opportunity purposely not taken.
Palin will continue to lie because she has never had to face the consequences of those lies. Yes, we’re talking about it…yes, a few people in the media have focused on her true intolerance…yes, books have and are being written identifying that the woman has a problem with the truth…and yes, many in late night circles joke about her ability to bend the truth or totally fabricate her own version of reality. But let’s face it, she is still the darling of the right and she is still able to rake in $$$$$. Until her lies actually come back to bite her in a very big way then we can expect more of the same from her.

I loved when she said her children are “stong, independent and well adjusted.” Does that include a #1 child who cut the brake lines and flattened the tires on 45 school buses? Does that include a #2 child who got PG once and maybe twice? And does that include a #3 child who broke into a house with two dozen teenagers, cut up the homeowner’s artwork with a sword, splattered paint throughout the house while playing beer bong games? Does that include #4 child who thought whe would like to pull Lyda Green’s hair?
I don’t know about you folks, but that is NOT what I call well adjusted children. They are screaming out for some love and are not getting it. It is a sad and tragic life they are being subjected to.

What ratings boost? They dropped! Leno had a 5.4 for Monday and last night was a 4.6, so that’s a loss of about a million viewers.
Leno needs to have the Family Guy producers on along with Andrea to talk about the show she so objects too. Show a clip and let folks make up their own mind.
What makes me sad is that she is wasting this opportunity to TELL the truth to power from her ‘Christian’ roots (what ever happened to thou shalt not kill, bear false witness, covet, etc)…and not showing the love and consideration for ‘the least of us’ that identifies true people of faith. She does the opposite spewing self serving hatred and stupidity, when she could’ve made a real difference given her world wide fame. What a tragedy…her me, me, meaness.
I loathe Palin. I wish I could add more but she just makes me sick. She is a never ending story… none of it good. At least I can visit these blogs to help me deal with this creature.
Ok here’s the thing. WE all know what she’s all about because we’re paying attention to the behind-the-scenes activities of Palin and her little mafia. WE all follow, with intense scrutiny, her quest for our White House. Fact is, that most people don’t. There are millions of people who watched her on that show, heard what she was saying and it was the first time for them all. So, having no frame of reference, they believe her. I’m certain that is the advice she’s getting. “Just say whatever you want, because people will believe you. And the ones who know you’re lying? Let them blog about it. Nobody reads those anyway.”
Until the MSM reports on the nightly news while people are watching the person they “trust” to tell them the “truth”, she’ll continue to get away with her lies, misrepresentations and victim stance. And, she’ll continue to win over the teabaggers who want someone to save them.
She is dangerously ignorant. I don’t suspect that there is a chance in hell that she’ll ever be voted in as President, but that’s not the concern at this point, IMHO. It’s her Dominionist, racist, anti-government, reactionary statements that are the danger. She is causing unrest.
President Obama worked on the platform of Hope and Change. He won over the masses. He needs to get back to that message and reconnect with the downtrodden and disenfranchised. People like Palin are stepping in and stirring them up, but not in a good way. She is appealing to people’s anger and outrage. He appealed to their hopes. Which will win?
I’m banking on Hope.

I’ve been thinking that Leno had her on because she’s the one guest that we probably won’t be seeing on Letterman. Turns out the audience doesn’t seem to care. Wonder if there is a “back story” about not having the Jersey Shore cast on the same night?
Also too, Shaun White mentioned meeting the kids. Does anyone know if their schools are on Spring Break? or are they playing hookie again?

In September 2008 Cedar Rapids was only three months removed from the most devastating natural disaster in its history, and thousands of residents and small business owners were still in the process of mucking out and gutting flooded properties.
But none of that is what former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin remembers about her visit.
Here we have what Sarah Palin wrote in Going Rogue about the campaign stop in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, page 248:
“… Jason, Jeannie and Bexie were there at one of our first campaign stops after the convention, a stop I’ll never forget. It was at a rally in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The town was a slice of Americana, with its quaint town square with mom-and-pop stores; red, white and blue bunting; moms and dads; kids in strollers; seniors; and people of every color. …”
Green Square Park, located in downtown Cedar Rapids, is likely the only place in the city that could be mistaken for a traditional town square. … More importantly, though, the downtown area was not a portion of the city that McCain and Palin visited during their flood tour. According to several reporters and local officials who participated in the tour, the campaign drove from the rally at the airport directly to a predominately residential section on the northwest side of town, known locally as the Time Check neighborhood. After walking roughly four blocks of residential streets flanked by flooded-out homes and curbside debris, McCain and Palin paused in front of a completely gutted structure on which someone had hung an American flag to make brief remarks for the accompanying press pool.
… The stop described in Palin’s book might very well be one she’ll “never forget,” but it did not take place in Cedar Rapids.
The Iowa Independent requested comment from Palin’s political action committee. There has been no response as of publication.

BooBooBear – I’m not convinced that Bristol moved to a place of her own because of discord on the lakefront property. It could be all part of a plan worked out with her attorney, to make her look more reliable and capable of being the sole provider of her child, without needing to be under her parent’s roof and possibly receiving monetary or physical assistance with the child.
Yes, families do have problems and break apart – usually with adult (semi-adult) children moving out on their own if possible. Bristol appears to have been a willing participate in her mother’s media blitz of television and magazine spreads. Sure, she may dislike some of her mother’s words and actions of late, but I doubt she dislikes it all so much that she simply moves out. I also don’t see her as terribly rebellious or she would have been wilder than what we hear she was. Teen pregnancy doesn’t automatically shout rebel or juvenile delinquent – as does the behavior of both Track and Willow with their shenanigans.
I may well be wrong, but I think it is a politically/legally motivated move and not an indicator of her wanting to distance herself from her mother.

Our niece has a housecleaning service in the Cedar Rapids area. She said it was a heart breaking mess for many months after the floods. We live in the midwest and for the most part those small towns with the business lined town squares are a romantic memory. if they exist at all today, it’s for tourists and not much value for the residents.

Now she’s a stand up comic? That poor woman is so scattered, none of her conversation makes sense. Her voice has moved up-range, now even more ear-shattering than before and she is on some kind of upper that has her speeding. Methinks she is very nervous and scared and grasping at straws in a wind tunnel.
She suggested that she could guest host for Jay as sometimes “that slot is open”…just a little hubris plus. FOX must not be pleasing her with their deal, she’s all over NBC to give her a slot. When FOX turns on her, she is done.
Her face has been altered by fillers and her upper lip was so stiff she had trouble talking with it. Guess it takes time to get used to botoxication. Nothing was working for her, the hairdresser got a few shots in for all of us, stirring it all up and loosely piling it so it was a rat’s nest, all askew.
What a dramatic contrast when Shaun White came on and spoke with obviously sincere intelligence, no self-consciousness, just an up-front and honest, very interesting, lively guest. It was so remarkably different, it just buried Palin by comparison.
Each time she appears, she has moved a step down on the ladder. It isn’t working for her.
Glad to hear that Bristol has moved to her own place in another city altogether. That says something.

Wanted to gag when I saw her picture in the frame with Gary Cole (McVeigh) but cracked up when they opened the gifts.
I heard on the news last night that Mitt will be coming to SLC to promote his new book. He is booked at the huge Salt Lake Palace Convention Center in downtown SLC. Palin, on the other hand, had her signing at Costco. It was a very weak turnout for her signing. Bwwwwwhahahahaha!
Utah is one red state she has already lost.
Ol’ Mitt is being nice and taking notes on the Grifter, but wait until the games begin. I’m sure he has already started his own vetting of the empty headed wonder.

I have been feeling mean since yesterday sometime about all things Palin, so here goes: her oldest, son, Track is possibly a criminal who then was allowed to enter the military TO COVER FOR THAT, her oldest daughter, Bristol, is an unwed, teenaged mother, (it happens, in the best of families) BUT she has now become the spokesperson for abstinence, and a re-vowed (word?) virgin TO COVER FOR THAT, her middle child Willow was recently involved in breaking and entering and either alcohol or drug activities, and has obtained a lawyer and is hiding(!??) probably TO COVER FOR THAT, her younger daughter is out of school continually and recently it may be alluded to that she is “homeschooled” TO COVER FOR THAT (and I don’t think she can even print beyond her name (and not well at that), and finally her baby Trig’s very existence has question marks all around it. This, in her vernacular, is “well-adjusted?”

By not using that moment as a teaching moment for the nation since she has national exposure, she has once again proved how unqualified she is for leadership.
Far be it from her to check with any of the nationa or state level ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) groups to see what their take was and coordinate a nation wide learning moment.
She takes an event that a savy politician and a natural leader would use to elevate the discourse and win positive PR points.
Considering their PR positions compare what Eunice Schriver did, inspired by the Kennedy’s ADA family member, and did for her life time, and what Sarah has done with her “inspiration.”
Sarah your are a looser and you loose ugly, over and over.
For some who suffer or see others suffering, their spirits will be elevated by their burdens and some will sink into a black hole born down by the weight of the lode stone of their own heart.

She had to do her stand-up bit because Andrea Freidman accused her of not having a sense of humor. Miss I’m-Still-in-Junior-High had to prove Andrea wrong.
That probably is why she did it but a bad reading of jokes that someone else wrote does not make a sense of humor, though I suspect Sarah thinks it does.
Her lack of self awareness is quite stunning.

Sounds like she chose to compete with Andrea Friedman, a DS person. How mean spirited and ugly can you get. All she did was prove how mentally unstable she is. She is someone riding on the personality cult of ego.
Can’t make it in politics, so she goes to trapsing around the country spewing redundant trash and then trying to make jokes about one of the most serious situations in this country. I think all she did was show her mental unhealth and dysfunctionality.
What she did on Leno is akin to laughing at Lyda Green about “cancer.” This woman is truly, truly evil. but we already know that, don’t we.
Here’s what Leno should have asked the Crazy Woman:
“So how is that ‘fire David Letterman’ thing working out for ya?”

A better 21st C image of a narcissist than the classic paintings of adoring one’s self in a mirror. It really is the whole self that is adored, not just the face.
I think she also said she would keep writing notes on her hand since it seemed to get “the left all wee-weed up” or something trenchant like that-I’m sure I just can’t do it justice. Let her keep running her mouth. There’s nothing like seeing a fool hoisted on their own petard.

Is it just me, or did Leno to be a little stiff and uncomfortable looking last night – especially during his opening monologue? he seemed to be “over-laughing” at his own jokes, then immediately going to deadpan…??! It was one of the only times I’ve seen him looking so awkward and ill at ease. Also, too, did Sarah ship in a few supporters who were laughing and clapping on cue? Even when she said that she was stumping for McCain, there was a huge round of applause and whistles. WTH was really going on with that?

I think also that Bristol’s move was for legal reasons and nothing else.If she lived at hoe she could not claim a lot of stuff as far as child support goes.In a place of her own she can go high priced and get away with it,,but Levi has a home he can take the child to and he also has the upkeep on the home.It gives her a lot heat electric ect to claim and she can always move back with mommy afterwards.Once they drain Levi dry so he can’t fight them.

I would make a sizeable dent in my bank account to see that confrontation, although I suspect it would be rather short-lived. Quittypants-on-fire wouldn’t last two minutes against Anthony Weiner and he definitely would call her out on every single lie she dared to utter. He’s also got that great snarky Brooklyn sense of humor that she wouldn’t even understand.

The quake was centered in the county of Kaohsiung, and struck at a depth of about 3.1 miles (5 kilometers). Kaohsiung is about 249 miles (400 kilometers) south of the capital Taipei.
Residents in Taipei could feel buildings shake, and the quake caused power outages. The island’s high-speed rail service was suspended, Taiwan’s cable news stations reported.

PepperZMom—-I also read about two people were killed and 14 injured as massive waves hit a cruise ship off france. The Cyprus based Louis cruise line said the icident occurred aboard the 1,790 passenger ship sailing from Barcelona to Genoa ,Italy. The waves smashed windows as high as deck five on the ship.
I have not heard anything on TV about this.
