Open Thread – Dogs on the Brain

rescue dog

I guess the Iditarod has gotten dogs on the brain. I’ll be posting a story about the Iditarod in a couple hours. But in the meantime, this is a painting in the UAF Museum of the North entitled “Rescue Dog.” I cannot remember who the artist is, unfortunately.

Just thinking of the irony, no, the hypocrisy, of Sarah Palin calling Levi Johnston Ricky Hollywood, and all of her put downs of the Hollywood elitists, and then she goes to Hollywood to “shop” a show around. Does she desire to become a Ricky Hollywood elitist? Is she infiltrating Hollywood, the same way she infiltrated the Teabag movement? Is she going to tell Hollywood later, that if they want to be taken seriously, they have to join the Republican Party? For somebody who despises what Hollywood stands for, she sure seems to want to get her nose up their shorts.

The dominionist xtianity requires that the 7 mountains be infiltrated. Hollywood is one of the mountains. Sarah is the infiltrator?

wow – the painting is intense.

palin is a horse’s ass. my opinion remains the same.

finally found Game Change on audio — will be listening as fast as i can. already it is a quick “read” !

gee – can’t wait to see palin infiltrate education – that ought to be darn right hilarious. in fact, that might be where her comedic talents will be put to good use.

Marshall, Kay (artist). Painting: acrylic on canvas. Size: 64 x 68 x 2 in.

People are finally waking up to the fact that La Palin has one note that she keeps singing and she’s really starting to bore people. People could save a lot of money and just ask for her speech to show up and save themselves the price of her lunch. (snark)

Where did your love of Moose come from? Why Alberta, Canada, of course! LOL.
Marketing 101, know your dip sh^t audience. :)
    Also, too, bring Piper along….

“Robert Vanden Heuvel, who has been raising capital for Calgary-based Bedford Biofuels said he wanted to hear Ms. Palin firsthand, “unedited” by a hostile American media.”

Can you believe it? Must be the tar sands’ polluted water seeping into the cities reservoir or they receive a different US media there from the rest of the USA.

Thanks for the link, Twain. Here’s a quote:

At the end of the night, as the attendees were filing out, some elderly contessa saw me typing furiously, leaned over, and said “Be kind to her.” It seems Palin, who will doubtless retain a strong streak of the exuberant bubbleheaded teenager to the end of her days, is as good as appealing to motherly and grandmotherly instincts as she is to male ones. I considered for a moment that it might not be for me to say that Palin was not a success, since I didn’t pay $150 for my seat. On the other hand, for those who did shell out, it was a sunk cost; the poor bastards on professional duty, like me, were the ones who weren’t allowed to leave. Sorry, but it’s hard to like someone who makes you suffer like that.

She also said they “built a pipeline” with their Canadian partners. Since when is a pipe dream a pipeline?

    Health and peace.

p.s. Love the Rescue Dog painting! More museum joy.

That rescue dog looks like it is in fact rescuing someone. What a powerful image!

First, I wonder if he regrets the money spent to hear the Alaska Airhead, and second, if he still believes that Granny Grifter is, ahem, “edited by a hostile American media.”

    LiladyNY,
Nah, a tax write off for him. They’re just using her to boost their profile. First it was bush… who next? :)

They gotta be laughing behind her back though, such is politics.
