Palin Cabins Not Worthless After All – Palin Says $0, Taxman Says $99,700
The sun is shining, the days are longer, the snow is melting. It’s that time of year. Step outside and breathe deep. Ahhhhhh…. Nothing like the smell of property tax assessments in the morning. Nobody really likes it, but we realize that our communities need things like roads, and firefighters, and we at least realize that we’re all members of the community, and we all share this burden for the benefit of all. We don’t presume that we can shirk our own responsibility and just assume that we can cheat, not pay what we owe, and make other people pay our way. That would be just plain wrong. Expecting others to pay your way while you sit back and chuckle at getting away with it is what conservatives like Sarah Palin call a “sense of entitlement.”
For those who have been wondering about what value the Mat-Su Borough will assess Sarah and Todd Palin’s cabin, wonder no more.
According to the Mat-Su Frontiersman:
MAT-SU — It’s property tax season and the official assessors say values remained flat in 2009.
Dave Dunivan is head of the Mat-Su Borough Division of Assessment. He said the borough is required to assess each property at full market value, and values have been steady over the past three years.
“Values remain flat” unless, of course, you are the Palins in which case you’ve seen the value on your recreational cabin on Safari Lake go from a self-reported $0 to $99,700.
So, it’s not worthless after all? Go figure. You’ll recall that the Palins have for years been claiming a $12,000 property value for the parcel of land itself, but a $0 building value for the cabin that sits on the land. But after first reporting on that finding here, the Matanuska Susitna Borough assessors did a fly-over of the cabin and have now reported its actual value at just shy of $100,000. (low whistle) Pretty fancy for a lowly recreational cabin and outbuildings that the owners reported as worthless just the year before. And the year before that. And the year before that. And the…. (you get the idea)
Thanks to the anonymous tipster who sent Mudflats an envelope containing the public information that had escaped the attention of the mainstream media, the story went viral, getting picked up by the Associated Press within hours, and even being closely followed internationally since that time.
The Palins have until March 30 to appeal the assessment, and they are not liable to pay for past years omissions. According to Dave Dunivan, the head of the Mat-Su Borough of Assessment, the Borough often compares its assessed value of a building to the actual price when the building sells. “Nine times out of ten we are within 5-6% of the sale price if our information is correct,” he stated. This would mean that it’s likely the Palin cabin’s practical value falls somewhere between $93,718. and $105,682.
As an example of how seriously the ex-almost-one-term governor holds the paying of one’s property taxes, and how much she scorns those who shirk their civic duty, we are reminded of an incident that happened several years ago.
In 2004, it came to light that Republican Rep. Vic Kohring owed the borough $2,277 in unpaid property taxes on property he owns off Knik-Goose Bay Road, according to borough records. “That bothered former Wasilla Mayor Sarah Palin enough that she declined a campaign request to do a pro-Kohring TV commercial. As a former mayor, Palin said, it made her uncomfortable to back someone with unpaid taxes when the city relies on property taxes.” [Anchorage Daily News (Alaska), 10/28/04]
The discomfort the former mayor feels about depriving the community of needed revenue apparently only applies to what other people do.

Why would anyone voluntarily admit they improved their property, when there is no penalty for the tax evasion, I mean omission. LOL
Yay! So good to see this has been noted by the authorities. Too bad they won’t hold the Palins liable for past years’ taxes. As long as the authorities are consistant on not holding other folks liable for “omissions,” I guess it’s fair.
“Mama bear” said she could help Alaskans so much more from the outside, than the inside.
Yes-now that she’s out of government, she’s paying her taxes!
(With a little help from her “friends”).
Is this the case for everyone that they can be forgiven for this failure? How the hell is that ok for this official to have the independence to firgive them for their failure to pay taxes owed. I only hope everyone takes this approach to be treated the same way! This is such a farce that the also too ex-gov is given a free ride by gov’t officials. I’d be pissed as hell, if I lived there, and would want this incompetent gov’t official removed from office…
Sigh! It wouldn’t happen here in socialist Europe. I am weary from fighting exceptionalist real Americans on huffpo!
Palin can be thankful there’s no tax on stolen building materials also too.
#5 but you did good Irishgirl, I fanned you! Fewer trolls on the mcgrumpy & lady blah blah, together again thread. Back on topic, she should have to pay back taxes + a penalty. No wonder AK gets $1.84 for every dollar they pay in to the feds.
Yes, it is easier to take from other people than to hold AK residents responsible. Probably makes you a popular politician/thief in AK that way, because “we’re so different than Outside.”
Palin’s cabins may not be worthless, but she sure is! This will bite her in the butt if she tries to run for anything – these things keep stacking up, making ripe fodder for any opponent. Keep ‘em coming – each one is a nail in her coffin.
If we keep putting nails in her coffin, where’s she gonna sleep?
Poor failed VP candidate & former half term gov., she’ll have to get herself another high-paying speaking gig to pay those pesty ole taxes. Darn it all, that those low middle class ppl can’t pay enough in property taxes to take care of her spare $100K property.
The Matanuska Susitna Borough is only one tiny part of Alaska, please don’t paint the state with one brush because Grifty Pants lives there.
Can the Borough legally give her the gift of not making her pay for hiding the building by not reporting it?? How much of a value is that to Palin? Which makes me wonder… does the IRS Tax Code require her to declare the value of the gift from the Borough…
Martha… she can go sleep in a pig’s stye for all I care (I suspect you share the same sentiment
).

If you were patriotic, real American,”raised right” and church going Christian you would do the right thing .
If you wanted to be an example to your children, “raise them right”, teach them that Christians “do the right thing”….
Matthew 22:21
And Jesus answering said unto them, Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s. And they marvelled at him.
But then again if you did THOSE things, you wouldn’t be a proper republican.
In order to be a proper republican, you must cling to and preach from your bible, whilst living a completely contradictory life.
In order to be a proper republican you MUST be an absolute hypocrite.
If a wildfire were threatening their “cabin” then I guess she would hire her own helicopter firemen to save the cabin, right?
Because if you don’t pay into the kitty for firemen and such….
Sickening to learn that Sarah and Todd Palin can break the law so blatenly and not be punished. They certainly should pay back taxes on that property…and fined for not paying taxes in the first place.
Will the Borough of Matanuska Susitna treat the rest of the tax doggers the same as they are treating criminals Sarah and Todd Palin
GREAT Story! And a great line JCos!: “Palin can be thankful there’s no tax on stolen building materials also too.”
And of course a HUGE shout out to the Mudflats and the story. I am sure Greta, Glenn and Bill O will be all over this one…
@9 MUYS: If we keep putting nails in her coffin where’ she going to sleep?
On a bed of nails of course. Isn’t that what she is best at?
Thanks Mudflats!
So fun to know she was outed by us bloggers.
Think what we could do if we ever got out of our basements!
If they don’t require building permits then it would be hard to know if anyone built anything in the middle of no-road-nowhere and hard to prove when. I can kind of understand this relaxed attitude in the wild, where there is no school or water lines or electricity from the city to help pay for, or garbage pick-up etc…but still, I could not put down $0 on a form if I built a house AND if I were a public official!
Yet more proof that Palin is a lying hypocrite.

I do hope that Sarah will take the time to at least get Piper a cake for her ninth birthday later this week. Give her the day off too. It’s hard work standing around trying to look cute while momma is doing some of that fancy screechin’ speechin’.
Thank AKM. I was just ranting about this over at Palingates, grrrrr. Tax evaders make me mad. Miss use of tax dollars also makes me mad, like my federal dollars to build a bridge to nowhere. Ha, Scarah says if AK wants a bridge the state can build it, really? how, by allowing property owners avoid paying taxes?
And I suppose she never insured this structure, correct? she was just willing to lose it in a fire, right? because it was worthless…… yeah, my arse.

Actually, that is right, lily. If you own remote property like that, you are on your own to protect it in a fire.
AKM… I have a question..?
Weren’t there TWO cabins/Chalets on two different plots of land..?
Where is the assessment on the ‘ other ‘ property?
$100K can only be for 1 Chalet.
And since she filled the APOC forms with ‘ fraudulent info ‘ even thought the Borough may let her skate on her Moral Slip-up… Ooopss……
She filled these APOC Forms out while she WAS Governor. Why can’t a ‘ private citizen ‘ file an Ethics complaint against her…?
( 2 years after she leaves Office.. Right? )
Her FRIENDS on the APOC Board will probably look the other way… AGAIN… but the Publicity and the TRUTH should be out there.
And just one little speech could easily pay for ALL the Back years as well.
It’s NOT even the money… it’s the fact that she feels entitled to get away with it.
A Multi-millionaire can’t pay maybe an extra $5-6K…?
This is ‘ pocket-change ‘ in her purse at the end of the month.
Palin Children… THIS is your Role Model Mother. Are you Proud of Her ?
You can always change your name when you get older I guess.
So mudkitten, I have a post in moderation, grrr, about whether or not she would have insured the cabin. Do people not insure these structures?
@27 say no:
Often it is close to impossible to insure structures that are a certain number of miles away from a fire station. We had to pay a fortune to insure our house because the closest fire station (manned by volunteers) was more than 20 miles from us. And we have idiots who start fires on the beach (on windy days) just 3 miles down the road.
Let’s see, the value is now just under 10 times the amount of the previous two years, so she and Todd will be liable for just under 10 times the amount of taxes in those years, right?
Did she pay the taxes on the underdeveloped land for 2008 and 2009?
Man, where I live, they publish unpaid taxes bills in the paper. Then, if the taxes aren’t paid after a certain time, they property goes up for auction – sometimes just getting the tax amount. Could that happen there?
I am totally thumbing my nose at Mrs. Palin. Nyah Nyah!
Some one should decline to shake her hand and then tell the media it is because she doesn’t pay her taxes.
A public official who is Christian and all about ethics reform, should pay for more years than they want. She should say, well, it was built in 2007 so we owe another year.
We pay county taxes to cover the cost of a rural volunteer fire dept. We live 15 miles from town, but fortunately only 3 miles from a rural fire station. Before a tax was voted in 2008, the station was funded by annual donations and fundraisers, perhaps some state and fed $ too because of state & fed parks in the area. We live in a heavily wooded area, fires are battled by all surrounding fire stations, our rural station helps in town too.
Our house has always been fully insured. I’m not sure if the rates are higher than in town, I don’t think so, but they are nothing higher like flood plain insurance.
Is there a way to see what other Safari Lake homes were assessed and their property values?
So, what’s the news here?
We’ve known she’s a tax cheat ever since we found out that she:
1. got per diem for living in her own home (I suspect the IRS caught up with her on that one after her appointees and henchwomen were forced to revise her 1099 or whatever to show that as income.
2. Went to NYC with Bristol for a half-day meeting, and stayed for 4 nights in a $700 per night suite at the Waldorf. Probably forgot to pay taxes on that one.
3. etcetcetcetcetc
and don’t forget all the gifts she “forgot” to report- like the personalized Arctic Cat jacket.
you betcha, also, too.
It’s just her own quiet Tea Party tax protest. Michelle Bachman told her not to pay them.
flying pig ranch: I did not know it is Piper’s birthday later this week. I wonder if Piper has any friends her own age? I wonder if she has a room at home that is decorated just for her, with dolls, and stuffed animals. I wonder if all the perks at the big hotels make up somehow for baby dolls, stuffed animals, make-believe tea parties, sleepovers …. Does anyone know what Piper’s “home” is like? Does Sarah keep Piper right next to her because she is still young enough to innocently spill secrets were she allowed to be in the company of teachers, friends, and other parents?
I’m so glad she will finally have to pay the taxes for that cabin. It’s too bad they don’t go after the Palins for the back taxes when they claimed it was worthless. How did they get away with that, anyway? Even a shelter kind of cabin would have some monetary value. Absurd.
It’s just one more thing that will come back to bite her if she ever tries to rear her head on the national political stage again. Just think, without the internet, this is the kind of story that could have been kept at a local level, maybe permanently. Now, everything is out there, everywhere, with a record of it that isn’t that hard to track down. I love it.
The cabin is worth much more than the owners (worthless).
Heh heh heh…
So, any bets whether she’ll try to get it lowered? At least Valley residents won’t have to pay her share any more. Just one more way this woman’s been a burden to Alaska.

Little salt and pepper to eat those words with , b^*ch ??
And the karma on the bus goes round and round.
Someone questioned the insurance carried on the cabin. If we knew when it was first insured we’d know exactly when it was built and how much it was accessed. Also shows the palins were conciencious about somethings Probably confidential info.
Kids go to school somewhere (well, sometimes) and drink water there and use other utilities there also. And even drive on a public road to get there. And police department protects her kids, and the stores they shop in, and the bank where they store their cash also too. They aren’t locked up in that cabin and never using public facilities. Downtown central doesn’t put of roadblock/border station saying only living within city limits may enter and use public facilities. How about that library?? Fair is fair. So much for Miss Ethical Reform. But we knew that already.
Is there a mortgage on the cabin? Unless it was financed privately, there would be a record of the loan recorded with the county or whatever you call it in AK. If the cabin was a “gift” or paid for with cash there would be no financing record. Most mortgaged properties are required to be insured but in a remote area like this perhaps insurance requirements are waived. Utilities are probably not provided. Well, lake water, septic tank, generator for electric, woodstove and can you even get to this place without a floatplane? Is it accessible by road? Fair market value to me, not much!
Schools and libraries and public services and our environment and our infrastructure and our communities ..isn’t that the Real America and the reason Real Americans pay taxes?
Ya know, if Everybody would just pay their fair share, including that new group of Corporate “Citizens”…. meh…

OT… I posted on the other thread just now.
Based on this website… Lance Mackey just FINISHED the Iditarod.
http://www.iditarod.com/race/race/currentstandings.html
The big question is….how in the world did they afford this cabin on their reported salaries with 4 kids?
#33 Say No…
I’m pretty sure this is public information. I can go online to the tax assessor website for my county and find the value of all properties in my county by street or property owner’s name.
Someone has vastly under-assessed the value of that cabin! I did a quick search at ADN – just go to this link for real estate and look at the value of homes!
http://www.homefinder.com/AK/Wasilla/
The link is for homes in Wasilla proper. They are on paved roads with full utilities and services. The Palin’s cabin is very remote, so it would not be worth as much, fwiw. AKM
Maybe she declared it worthless because they did not pay for materials and labor?
Now somebody may want to look into who they contracted with to build the 6 figure “cabin” and who had the contract to supply the building materials.
I mean it would be good advertising for a contractor or lumber yard to be able to say they were a wanna be VP’.s builder.
Or maybe the Palins felt like it was worthless because – well – because it was their’s being, by defintion, worthless.
Wonder how their neighbors, who have been paying taxes feel about the Palin’s 3-5 years of freebee?
I read the bourogh’s tax laes, …they CAN charge her with not reporting the info, and fineher/90 days jail for not reporting the improvements. I sent an email to the mayor asking if he had enough cojones to actually apply the law to Palin…. no reply ( did this several days ago, before the assement came out. )
PERHAPS if Alaska did not recieve so much Federal Money, the local and State goverments might take a stricter view on enforcing their own codes, and actually start functioning as REAL goverment entities, and not slush funds for the scalewags that get elected…

Just wondering out loud.
I recall way back in prehistoric times when I first discovered the mudflats blog that AKM had done a little photo tour of Wasilla. I haven’t gone back into the archives to try and look that particular post up but I was just wondering… aren’t the windows in the cabin strikingly similar to those in the two McMansions built on the lake, and also too, to the windows in the sports center? Do all Wasillaites have those weird trapezoidal windows in their houses?
Something else stirs the memory, who was it that said “only little people pay taxes”? Oh yes, Leona Helmsley I think….
You have a good memory, KN! Here’s the link. I took those pictures on September 1, 2008, just three days after P-Day. Seems like a long time ago. Spouse was kind enough to indulge me and drive around Wasilla so I could get some pictures. I explained to him that I had more people reading my blog than usual! AKM
benlomond2 Good thinking about sending him or her an email about this, anyone else would have been fined and or jailed most likely.
When I first learned about Sarah Palin (when she appeared on the national political scene in August, 2008), I remember the phrase that was supposed to have been said by Sarah when she was Mayor of Wasilla, namely that she would do such-and-so until the courts told her that she couldn’t.
I think that has been her guiding philosophy, namely pushing through any place where she sees a crack or opening, and no stopping until she is told by somebody in authority that she can’t do it. It’s an “I dare you to stop me” kind of attitude.
This is the same woman who charged the State of Alaska to eat and live in her own house. She took her family along on official business, and even though there was no invitation issued for the family, Sarah expected to have their travel expenses paid for by the state. She didn’t blink at $700. a night in NYC with on a trip with Bristol. Since it was over what the state allowed, she signed off on her own expenses. Her abuse of power was noted in Troopergate. She used a private email account for official communication. Her use of her title as governor to raise money to defend herself against ethics charges remains questionable. Eyebrows have been raised at the coincidental architectural similarities between the Sports Complex and Casa Palin (the one that Todd built on weekend with buddies, when there were no building permits or codes in place).
Bottom line: Given this pattern of behavior, why would anyone expect Sarah to correct a petty mistake regarding a piece of property’s value. Who would know the difference, the property is so hard to reach to verify the evaluation.
As someone who lives in the lower 48, I should be surprised at the same kind of business going on with Ted Stevens, Don Young and many of the other Alaskan politicians. Then, I look at the mess going on in Washington, trying to pass Health Care Reform, and I see that some of the biggest opponents (regardless of party) receive the biggest donations from people with an interest in the outcome, namely drug and insurance companies. Locally, I can look at people who work for the local park district and seem to have the lawn of their personal residence cut by workers for the park district, at my expense. It was Mark Twain who summed this up for us some time ago: “We have the best government that money can buy.”
Question : As a private citizen you don’t have the same rules that apply.
But… as the Governor, the highest ranking Public Official of the State, you have to abide by ‘ different rules ‘. There IS more scrutiny.
She filed that APOC Form out, as by required by Law. She LIED on that APOC form. She KNEW the cabin was not ‘ Zero ‘ dollars. Even if the Burough Tax Assessor is going to let it slide…. She fraudulently filled out that APOC form.
She LIED… under the Law that she is supposed to be upholding and it is a TOTAL different criteria than from ‘ average Joe private citizen ‘.
Someone from Alaska tell me WHY someone can’t file an Ethics Complaint against her now..? She did it while she was the acting Governor and I thought she could be charged for up to 2 years after leaving Office.
Maybe Celtic Diva will post about it and answer THAT question.
I’ll bet Andree McLeod knows as well.
Yeah – the taxman cometh! I just love a democracy.

hmm, the Mayor would be Talis Colberg. Any further questions?
Where is the land deal? Whose land was it and who sold it, there must be sales records and public/private appraisals. Comparables for the land at least.
When one flies over that region and sees all the development that has occurred in that area (as well as numerous others), a good project would be to research the land’s history, before and after statehood.
Thank you for reporting all these weird things. N
I don’t know how the Palins got away without paying taxes on this property from the time that it was built. I would think that the assessor would have to assess the property from day one. Not paying taxes for the past three years, should mean, that they owe back taxes plus penalty . My neighbor was assessed for their dog’s house on the back of their property. You just don’t get away without paying taxes in Iowa.
From what I see in the picture of the Palins cabin—-looks like it would be worth more than $99,000.00. Prime stuff up there on the cliff.

Lucky it’s Alaska.
You can’t build a doghouse in So. Cal for $100,000.
If that little getaway cabin was in Big Bear, you’d be looking at 3, 4, maybe even 5 times that value.
Too bad she can’t get slapped for back taxes owed. I’m sure there are some records some where dating the completion of that cabin. She should be paying back taxes and penalties for not reporting it.
I apologize if I offended any one with my ranting remarks on earlier post…I’m just SO FRUSTRATED with what I see going on up there in Alaska, as well as what’s going on in the Congress… People taking blatent advantage of loopholes while “preaching” about American Values of hard work, contributing to those less fortunate, while stuffing their bank accounts with money paid by Americans who follow the rules and the intent of the laws… we had a little to-do with our local Fire Commissoners wanting to commit the town to a $10 million dollar bond to rebuild our volunteer FD station- with all sorts of bells and whistles.. inside of 3 weeks before the special election, the townspeople rallied together and defeated the measure by a 2 to 1 margin, and got rid of 3 of the 5 comissioners in the next public election… The station needs to be improved, but NOT totally rebuilt… If we can hold our local officials accountable here for their lies ( and there were some doozies told !) what needs to be done to get this spread thru the rest of the country ? While I don’t agree with the Teaparty’s tactics and outlook, I DO understand their frustration with elected officials NOT taking care of business FOR the people!
…and the more that comes to light about MS Palin and her cohorts, I just get more and more ticked off…where are the investigations that should be happening? where are the elected officials that are suppose to apply the laws EQUALLY , HOW IN THE HE DOUBLE L is this HAPPENING ??? and when is there going to be an accounting for all of this ???
Is it all going to be swept under the rug? Are there not going to be some hard questions posed to elected officials when they come up for election as to “WHY didn’t YOU stand up against this sort of thing ?” or is it just more of the same crying it was some other persons responsibility to deal with it, but elect me again and I’ll look into it next term”…
California is messed up, but dang it, we DO take to the streets more often than others do when things aren’t right.. doesn’t mean we fix it, but they sure get an earful in Sacramento…..
to those of you that are here on this blog to speak up about the things going on in Alaska, and to try and fix things, my comments were not directed to you, I enjoy the information about Alaska, and how y’all are working to make it a better place… I just sort of had to rant and rave..:) and it looks like I just did it again,..didn’t I ? ok, I’ll shut up now….

reputation.
Was avoiding payment of a few hundred dollars in taxes really worth being perceived as an “hypocritical cheater” by other people, Ms. Palin?
Proverbs 31:10 says that the price of a good woman is far above rubies……
So much for rubies, eh?…. Apparently, a few nodules of iron pyrite is the going price for SP.
you do not have to worry about her useing the libraries .
If Palin harbors any lingering fantasies about seeking national office she better expect to have to deal with this. Guaranteed she will be grilled on it. The way she has dealt with up until won’t cut it either. If she wants to run for POTUS, she may well have to pay ALL of the back taxes just to clear up the impression wrongdoing. Wouldn’t THAT gall the Tundra Twit?
The Palins really are the Wasilla Chillbillies. They resemble nothing so much as the living embodiments of White Trash Chic. Ya’ll in Alaska must be SO proud! Thanks. You’ve helped us all here in the lower 48 feel much better about our idiot politicians.

Y’all kind of come at the same point from different directions. Perhaps SWWNBN purposely avoided reporting this new construction because it would have called attention to the windows and the coincidentally close proximity in time to when the sports complex was built. And as we know, when you’re a sitting governor, that’s not a good time for such news to come out. Also, she already knew about the Corrupt Bastards investigation and might have been feeling a wee bit paranoid (and rightly so!). Not excusing her at all, but just trying to figure out why she avoided reporting the cabin.
So many heartfelt and honest posts above…I wish I could acknowledge and thank you all. I live in Southern California. We have huge problems in our state, but I simply can’t believe what I’m reading about the gross negligence and graft of Alaska’s elected officials. Getting snarky here, but do all of the elected officials in Alaska chew & smack gum with their mouths open whenever a TV camera shows up? I doubt that the ‘regular folk’ do, but it IS what we see on TV & the net here in the Lower 48.
As #75 mlaiuppa said, Palin’s “cabin” would be an absolute minimum $500K in Big Bear here in our local mountains – more like $2 million. My husband and I had to get City engineering drawings passed and pay for a very expensive building permit to build our patio! And don’t think the County tax assessor’s office didn’t know about our improvement the same day. Oh yes, they did, and we knew we had to pay the additional tax. If we were to ever THINK of not paying our property taxes, the fines would be out of sight. And a JAILABLE offense if knowingly lied about. I’m furious about this skate-by attitude of the Palins. And apparently, by local authorities. Fire ‘em all! How in the world can the Palins be allowed a free ride on the past years’ unpaid property taxes?? They purposely LIED!
I totally enjoyed watching the live Iditarod coverage via feed from KTUU this afternoon. What an amazing feat! We’re thrilled for Lance, the enduring dogs with hearts and souls bigger than all outdoors, and all the mushers still on the trail. It has been spectacular to watch this for the past 9 days. Thank you for sharing this with us all.
Also, too…I think the same-shaped window topic is huge, and definitely merits looking into. Lotta sneaky dirt somewhere on that one, and it sure smells like $$$. More Palin-grifting….beyond sickening.
How does she/will she get away with lying to APOC?
They still have a good scam. I own 1.3 acres behind Mt. Susitna that is 70 miles from the nearest road. It’s valued at 15,000 by the Mat-Su Borough. They have ten times the property just 7miles off the road and it’s only worth 12,000? Go figure.
Mine has zero improvement. Just some scrubby trees.
That’s an excellent perspective, Gol3ig… sounds like an equal protection complaint to me. Go file it. They will either assess her’s higher or bring yours in line so that you are not paying more than your fair share.
Why is she not required to pay back taxes?
Didn’t she commit fraud by lying on the form?
And yes, I think this property is connected to the other “freebies” the Palin’s received for her tit-for-tat construction contracts.
It’s the same reason she won’t take her little political “prop” outside the country…………she is a liar, a grifter an opportunist and a fraud.
Richter Investments LLC….Alaska Inaugural Committee….sooner or later stuff is going to surface that will take some explaining to the IRS. It took quite awhile to flip Ted Stevens out of his massaging recliner and into court over the “perks” he received while Senator. Palin will eventually get her turn and the sooner the better.
trisha – some really enterprising Alaskan ought to force that issue and file a Writ of Mandamus to force the municipality to enforce the tax rules and law. It’s just another issue which shows that the only way to get s’error palin to do the right and/or legal thing is to force her to follow the existing rules.
sauerkraut…..bingo!
Hey, Everyone knows in Wasilla that Sarah and Todd never paid attention to their kids. Look at them, the son was forced into the military for vandalizing school buses, he had a drug problem, daughter knocked up, another recently arressted for underage drinking, Piper never in school. All the kids are flunking out. Sarah Palin is a train wreck and mean and nasty. She is uneducated and jealous of anyone that is elite. The reason is because she is street smart white trash and people are calling her on her stupidity. She was able to get by with red neck Alaskans but the elite won’t let her. Sarah Palin a Moron and a National Disgrace!!!!!! She is disgusting!
ROTFL and to think I missed the national media story! Sarah’s response is?
Seriously? The ADN’s Alaska Politics Blog makes it sound like the assessment of $99, 700 is for BOTH of the cabins? Are they kidding?
