Green

I can’t for the life of me remember what these are called. They grow wild all around here. I seem to vaguely remember that they’re poisonous, so look – don’t eat! Always a good rule on the trail.

Lovely photo of a very toxic plant – there is beauty in everything, eh?
I think green is my favorite color, a harbinger of spring… sprouts that will soon be leafy with colorful blooms, carpets of grass, new leaves on my shade trees, and the bounty of a vegetable garden.

AlterNet has an excellent story that certainly gives food for thought.
    http://www.alternet.org/story/146208/welcome_to_glenn_beck%27s_world%3A_what_if_the_tea_partiers_ruled_the_country

It showcases Utah and all the ways it has been, and is now, rejecting rule of the federal government. Here is a sampling of the article:
“Welcome to Utah. Our rightwing red-state legislature just finished its annual 2010 session. So-called message bills challenged the federal government’s right to govern federal lands, enforce gun controls, legalize abortion, and mandate health reform. In addition, Utah’s lawmakers cut the education budget, raised tuitions, and slashed services to the disabled.”

I posted a comment on the prior thread, regarding Palin’s latest Facebook Post. I found it so offensive and scary that I submitted the link to the FBI. She obviously did not write the piece herself, but I’m confident that her ideas were the impetus for it.

Credo has a new petition up for those wanting to sign it, protesting Texas’ re-writing of history in the textbooks: http://www.change.org/petitions/view/dont_let_texas_rewrite_history?partner=59

Another website posted Sarah’s speaking schedule for April and there is barely a day off. Who is taking care of her little guy? One would think she’d spend a little time with him, or will she drag he and Piper along?

May the week be productive for our President and the Democrats………and of course for all the Mudpups!

GreatGranny2C – Good heavens, the FBI? I thought I was being ‘out there’ by reporting an act of ‘Domestic Terrorism’ to Facebook. Good for you! Everything I read is now calling Palin’s gunsight graphic SEDITION. There is no amount of money I won’t find to pay for the privilege of seeing $$arah do the perp walk one day. I love the color orange, but it would never be so beautiful as if she were wearing it as the outfit de jour. With the purple boots, also, too.

Once again, I just fired off a courteous letter to poor hapless McShame. I have yet to receive a reply to my many missives. No huevoes, no doubt.

AKM – Would you mind posting that link to the Discovery Channel again? I can’t seem to find it now, but it did go directly to the right people. I’ve left numerous recordings to the DC’s “viewer opinion line” @ (571) 262-4899. I and my friends have bombarded them, and will continue.

Now, on to happier thoughts. The GREEN is just what I needed to ‘cleanse my palate’ – thank you AKM! Oh, happy Springtime! Here in SoCal, we have orange poppies & yellow mustard weed galore on the hillsides, and this weekend, we’ll take a jaunt into the Mojave to see the Joshua trees in bloom. I’m still nurturing my Joshua tree seedling ‘farm’ (all nine of them), but they do grow so slowly. One year into this experiment, and they’re 3″ tall – strong & happy. They are feisty little beasts, with indomitable spirits. I’m growing them about 2,000 feet below their ideal altitude, but so far, so good.

i went back and read what you posted on the previous threat…holy cow this woman is crazy. These are “i dare you” rantings . The only hope i have is the more she ratchets it up the more people see her for what she is and i hope somebody put a stop to it…but so far she’s gotten away with everything and it makes you wonder and a little afraid where it will end.

That FB rant was a doozie. A whole new level of crazee. But her adoring minions seem to view it as an attack on librul-commie-fascist political correctness, giving them freedom to express any and all hateful comments.

People forget (or never knew) that “politcally correct” was a derisive joke term originally. We used it to ridicule false statements, same we might say “that’s mighty white of you.” Can’t believe how perverted that term has become. If we were still in the 70′s and 80′s, we’d say that $P pretending her hate speech is about basketball is “politically correct”.

  12. 12

Heidi1 – Oh my goodness! I love the Joshua trees. We were stationed at Fort Bliss TX for 6 months and I loved walking into the desert and painting them. I have no idea what about them enthralled me so much, but to this day, they are my 2nd favorite (after my beloved sugar maples up in Vermont).

I also reported her on Facebook, but then I thought “what the hay, let’s go all the way” and it was so easy to find a link for the FBI. There is no doubt in my mind that they have already started a file on her – probably since she first hit the campaign trail and started bad-mouthing POTUS. If they haven’t, then they sure aren’t doing their job. She seems to walk that fine line where she’s not actually breaking any law. I’m also pretty sure that an attorney reads over the various articles that she *writes* before they are posted, just to keep her on the right side of it. Her financial dealings are something else! I would love the opportunity to audit all her books and accounts! Makes one wonder if any entity such as the IRS is watching her. Having worked in the accounting field for years and doing a number of 501(c) applications and reports, the IRS regulations are very specific and allowables are stringent. If the reporting meets the criteria, then they don’t go out auditing without just cause, so if enough letters were sent to them, especially as regards the Alaska Trust Fund, THEN they would likely audit. Palingates has an article today on the ATF with updates and it would be a logical next step to forward the info to the IRS.

  13. 13

I think it worthwhile to repost Sarah’s latest rant so more are aware of just how far out she is getting, plus by reading it here she doesn’t get the clicks. For anyone who wants to report their concerns to the FBI, here you go:
Please use this website to report suspected terrorism or criminal activity. Your information will be reviewed promptly by an FBI special agent or a professional staff member. Now here is Sarah’s rant:

A number of the words were italicized but when I pasted it took them away, so I’m going to list them in parenthesis after each paragraph they appeared in.

March Madness battles rage! My family and I join millions of Americans enjoying college basketball’s finest through March Madness. Underdogs always get my vote as we watch intense competition bring out the best in these accomplished teams.

The Final Four is an intense, contested series (kind of like a heated, competitive primary election), so best of luck to all teams, and watch for this principle lived out: the team that wins is the team that wants it more.

To the teams that desire making it this far next year: Gear up! In the battle, set your sights on next season’s targets! From the shot across the bow – the first second’s tip-off – your leaders will be in the enemy’s crosshairs, so you must execute strong defensive tactics. You won’t win only playing defense, so get on offense! The crossfire is intense, so penetrate through enemy territory by bombing through the press, and use your strong weapons – your Big Guns – to drive to the hole. Shoot with accuracy; aim high and remember it takes blood, sweat and tears to win.

(Targets, shot across the bow, crosshairs)

Focus on the goal and fight

Pouring rain today. Possibly 6 inches! I’ll be keeping an eye on my gutters to make sure they are draining away from the house. We’ve had torrential rains over the past two weeks, flooding people’s basements and causing the overflow of some of the smaller rivers and streams. I live on a river, but up a grand hill, so no risk to me, however, if it floods over the bridge, I’m stuck here! I’ve seen my little village flood several years ago. It’s not pretty. When that river comes up over the banks, many people’s houses are engulfed, as well as the firehouse, the town hall, the library and the post office.

I don’t mind the rain so much as the wind that often accompanies it. That stupid wind blows the rain under my house shingles and I have sprung a little leak in an upstairs bedroom ceiling! Just enough to stain the plaster.

And AKM, lovely green you have there.

Polly @26 – That is a superb article – she’s right on the mark that all should be considered homegrown terrorists. I especially liked her statement about Palin………the word sedition is sounding better and better, eh?

“As for Sarah Palin, our Republican Court Fool, here’s a sweet quote from her: “In Alaska, you know what we do with people like that? We hunt ‘em down and shoot ‘em between the eyes.” Note that she is busy trying to backtrack on that remark and a few others like, “Don’t retreat, reload”, saying that she was actually referring to “voting ‘em out at the polls”. What? Since when is “shoot ‘em between the eyes” a slogan for inspiring voting? Is this woman insane or what? Or does she think we are? Or is she coming very close to committing sedition? I remind you that this nation is still at war and inciting acts of violence against the government while the nation is at war borders on sedition. This may not be an anti-war protest in its purest sense but at its core, the ambition to weaken this government is crystal clear. “

I chose “sunflower” as part of my moniker because sunflowers can grow in adverse circumstances (e.g., radical conservative Repub Thug territory) and still follow the light.

Sue, glad to know you are thriving or at least surviving in this red state. Under Sebelius as Governor I once had hopes Kansas was returning to a more moderate or progressive (it was anti-slavery at one point) mentality, but perhaps that was just desperate, wishful thinking,eh?

However, I think Sarah better pull her little bottom out of town for a while because I doubt her fellow partners in crime and their families are going to feel so forgiving towards Willow.

Last comment: Welcome Spring! May it settle down restless spirits, subdue the rants, and smooth over angry and fearful feelings. Spring brings all sorts of symbols of rebirth and regeneration. He is personally responsible for shaping my passion for equality, liberty and justice for all. Sometimes I sit and wonder how much more he could have accomplished for our country had his life not been so abruptly shortened.

Well I had no initial thought about eating the lovely greens but now that I’ve been told not to , I can’t help but wonder what they taste like!

Started the day by pulling on a hooded sweatshirt and discovering I had it on backwards. With the hood covering my face I had a claustrophobic mini meltdown when I couldn’t get it off. After I staggered about and struggled my way out of it and flung it on the bed ( at the moment believing entirely that it was a deliberate attack ) it dawned on me that I would’ve fared much better if I had just reached up and pulled the hood part away from my face and THEN removed the offending sweatshirt.

When a day starts off like that, it can only get better, right ?

I’m reading about militia groups and other people who are being arrested and charged with threatening and sedition in the country. One thing that Palin has done by spewing her vileness is expose these groups and people. I can only hope that someone doesn’t get killed in all of this. I’d love to see someone question her from the “Feds” about her own brand of sedition.

I prefer the name Corn Lily for Veratrum Escholtzii, it is not a hellebore, and does not resemble one, so ‘false hellebore’ is a poor name. I have not seen anything eat it, and have not tasted it. I think ‘highly toxic’ is probably an exaggeration, though.

It does not grow in the same areas as skunk cabbage here, it is on rich but well drained mountainsides above the treeline. Each plant will eventually have multiple flower stalks, I do not think it commonly reproduces vegetatively . If you transplant one, do it with a small plant, a large one will be set back several years. I have a lot of it growing on my mountainside above the south fork of Eagle River, if you would like some.

Skunk cabbage does not grow around Cook Inlet, it is very common in Prince William Sound, it grows in bogs at sea level. I have transplanted them, and they persist for a few years, but eventually die, I think perhaps they do not like their root to freeze solid.

Does anyone here, besides me, think that this ratcheting up of fear is similar to what Bush/Cheney did with the WMD in Iraq after 9/11? Is it a ploy to keep us huddled in fear instead of speaking out and minding the store? It is it a Rovian way to manage the liberals and keep us distracted from the true tasks at hand? Are the corporations laughing all the way to the bank, thinking the “spineless Democrats” will just hide in the shadows?

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t have an Obama bumper sticker because I live in an area where the “militia” have moved in just 35 miles from my house. I am surrounded by pouting Republicans and some avowed TeaBaggers at work. The Second Ammendment freaks hold rallys in the town where I work and they are all “packin’”.

I am almost convinced that our quitter ex-gov is truely going to try to run for POTUS with the backing of Rupert Murdock and all of the money he is putting in her “warchest”. I believe that there are rascist nutjobs out there with their guns loaded just looking for a “target”.

However, I also remember the night that Obama was elected and the faces of people (of all ages and races) with tears streaming down their faces. We should never let ourselves be cowed by the hatred and evil on the right, or the left, ever again. Yes, we need to be careful. However, I also believe that we need to be rational about all of this. It is a bunch of hate speech that isn’t that new. Can it result in something like Kristillnacht (sp?)? Well, I believe that anything can happen unless we say “Never Again” (in honor of our Jewish mudpups getting ready to celebrate Seder out there). But resorting to freaking out in fear of the biker queen and her rhetoric is not the way to say never again.

We must oppose these people by speaking the truth and sometimes (dare I say it?) by refusing to let the crazies get under our skin. Yes, keep an eye on them. Sometimes the best way to fight fire is with fire but other times the best thing to do is douse it with water (the truth) or suffocate it by denying it oxygen (refusing to give credibility to it). We should not waste our energy on fear. We should expend our energy on positive things: helping our eleceted representatives to move ahead with laws that we want, helping them get re-elected, repeating over and over the good things that this health care bill is providing (even if it isn’t all that we wanted), remembering that these people are NOT the majority, they are not moral and they are not about what is right and good for their fellow man.

I, like many here, do not really believe that all of this anger is about health care. It is about losing and fear. We have so many problems in this country right now. People are afraid of losing their jobs and their homes (many are afraid that they will not find another job or ever have another home after losing the one they had). The thugs are trying to empower those people by giving them someone to hate and to blame (all the while blaming those very people for their misfortune). They do not really care about them. They are using them. Some of the angry people have legitimate gripes but they are so afraid that they cannot voice them rationally. Others are just along for the ride because someone has given them permission to go wild.

Remember, HOPE, stay positive. Don’t give in to the fear that they are hoping will paralyze us. Let SP bury herself in her own rhetoric. She wants our attention. Do not give it to her and she will cease to burn for lack of the oxygen (attention) that she requires.

I enjoy snarking on her as much as the next person because she so offends my sensibilities. I will probably continue to do so because I am not perfect and it is just plain fun (and because mudpups are so good at it). But I need to keep reminding myself that I am here to spread goodwill on this earth and that I need to “Do unto others as I would have others do unto me”. So I will continue to try to find common ground with and smile at the people I disagree with politically. I will continue to sign petitions and boycott corporations that support things that I disagree with. I will stay engaged but I REFUSE to be afraid.

    Ducks Quack – Eagles Soar

No one can make you serve customers well….that’s because great service is a choice.
Harvey Mackay tells a wonderful story about a cab driver that proved this point.

He was waiting in line for a ride at the airport. When a cab pulled up, the first thing Harvey noticed was that the taxi was polished to a bright shine. Smartly dressed in a white shirt, black tie, and freshly pressed black slacks, the cab driver jumped out and rounded the car to open the back passenger door for Harvey.

He handed my friend a laminated card and said: ‘I’m Wally, your driver. While I’m loading your bags in the trunk I’d like you to read my mission statement.’

Taken aback, Harvey read the card. It said: Wally’s Mission Statement: To get my customers to their destination in the quickest, safest and cheapest way possible in a friendly environment…

This blew Harvey away. Especially when he noticed that the inside of the cab matched the outside. Spotlessly clean!

As he slid behind the wheel, Wally said, ‘Would you like a cup of coffee? I have a thermos of regular and one of decaf.’ My friend said jokingly, ‘No, I’d prefer a soft drink.’ Wally smiled and said, ‘No problem. I have a cooler up front with regular and Diet Coke, water and orange juice.’ Almost stuttering, Harvey said, ‘I’ll take a Diet Coke.’

Handing him his drink, Wally said, ‘If you’d like something to read, I have The Wall Street Journal, Time, Sports Illustrated and USA Today..’

As they were pulling away, Wally handed my friend another laminated card, ‘These are the stations I get and the music they play, if you’d like to listen to the radio.’

And as if that weren’t enough, Wally told Harvey that he had the air conditioning on and asked if the temperature was comfortable for him. Then he advised Harvey of the best route to his destination for that time of day. He also let him know that he’d be happy to chat and tell him about some of the sights or, if Harvey preferred, to leave him with his own thoughts…

‘Tell me, Wally,’ my amazed friend asked the driver, ‘have you always served customers like this?’

Wally smiled into the rear view mirror. ‘No, not always. In fact, it’s only been in the last two years. My first five years driving, I spent most of my time complaining like all the rest of the cabbies do. Then I heard the personal growth guru, Wayne Dyer, on the radio one day.

He had just written a book called You’ll See It When You Believe It. Dyer said that if you get up in the morning expecting to have a bad day, you’ll rarely disappoint yourself. He said, ‘Stop complaining! Differentiate yourself from your competition. Don’t be a duck. Be an eagle. Ducks quack and complain. Eagles soar above the crowd.’

‘That hit me right between the eyes,’ said Wally. ‘Dyer was really talking about me. I was always quacking and complaining, so I decided to change my attitude and become an eagle. I looked around at the other cabs and their drivers… The cabs were dirty, the drivers were unfriendly, and the customers were unhappy. So I decided to make some changes. I put in a few at a time. When my customers responded well, I did more.’

‘I take it that has paid off for you,’ Harvey said.

‘It sure has,’ Wally replied. ‘My first year as an eagle, I doubled my income from the previous year. This year I’ll probably quadruple it. You were lucky to get me today. I don’t sit at cabstands anymore. My customers call me for appointments on my cell phone or leave a message on my answering machine. If I can’t pick them up myself, I get a reliable cabbie friend to do it and I take a piece of the action.’

Wally was phenomenal. He was running a limo service out of a Yellow Cab. I’ve probably told that story to more than fifty cab drivers over the years, and only two took the idea and ran with it. Whenever I go to their cities, I give them a call. The rest of the drivers quacked like ducks and told me all the reasons they couldn’t do any of what I was suggesting.

Wally the Cab Driver made a different choice. He decided to stop quacking like ducks and start soaring like eagles.
How about us? Smile, and the whole world smiles with you…. The ball is in our hands!
A man reaps what he sows. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up…. let us do good to all people.
    Ducks Quack, Eagles Soar.

Have a nice day, unless you already have other plans.

Well said lovemydogs! Thanks for reminding us that we are in control of what we want manifested (is that a code word?) in our lives. I will strive to keep HOPE at the forefront, but it is so hard not to hate, and yes, fear, the rantings of SP and her call to arms that reaches out to the teabaggers.

I truly believe that SP is being supported by those who wish to see the US fail by falling into another civil war, one egged on by their interests and money. SP is just the bought instigator, and I doubt that she fully understands her role in this push to internal strife.

I don’t want to go there; I don’t want to see Americans tearing each other apart. Thus, I believe that we need to hasten her exit from political speeches, from presenting a TV series to continue to spout her hate and misinformation, from another book “written” by her, from her tweets and Facebook rantings, from her voice and form in any way whatsoever. It is time for her to go far, far away where she cannot sway the ‘baggers anymore.

The world will be a better place once she, and other members of her family, begin their penance (jail sentence) for the corrupt life style she created and modeled for her children to emulate. Time to show that bad choices have consequences.

    @ lovemydogs

“I will stay engaged but I REFUSE to be afraid.” Well said! As my sis said recently, also, too “If you HATE Palin, she wins”. She will suck the life right out of you if you let her, so don’t let her.

My refusal to find fear in all of this (anger = yes) does not keep me from snarking on Sarah. In fact, it helps me to not hate her when I make fun of her. And boy, have I made fun of her for over a year since she is such an easy target. It keeps me a lot more balanced and cheerful than when I, for a short time, gave in to the dark side before the election.

CHANGE is what the whackos can’t stand and fear the most – such as the ones who think the original Constitution, without the Bill of Rights, should stand today. What f’ing morons – to them, nothing which has happened to shape our society and country for over two hundred years has no bearing on anything. OK, so there were a whopping 13 states back then, all piled on top of each other in one little corner of a huge country populated sparsely with people just like them.

CHANGE, the ability to roll with the punches, and learn from our mistakes and successes, is what has made our country as awesome as it is (it could be better, but overall we’ve done pretty darn well). Change is very much the basis of fear for the unbalanced conservatives, and even the tried and trues.

By embracing, asking and working for change, progressives do not make sense to these people. I read a comment the other day that was so far off base it actually made me laugh out loud! The commenter was snarkily making a big deal about Harry Reid and a gun show in NV, and WTF was up with that since these hypocritical lefties wanted to repeal the 2nd amendments. Whoa dude, who ever said that? You just try to pry the guns out of our cold dead fingers up here and see what happens. This dude was under the impression that if violence erupted, the lefties would huddle in fear. WRONG!

Their “lockstep” attitude itself is what precludes their ability to understand the more progressive part of society. We change, we question, we go forwards, we go backwards, we argue, we hug, we do all sorts of things that just freak these guys out. Everything that we do almost threatens their desire for the fictitious status quo which they desire so greatly.

Think of this in historical terms, and Darwinian simplified terms – is it the part of society which can not deal with change which will prevail? So, yes, when this all started happening with the lying, threats, Palin on the loose with her hateful rhetoric, weird people doing weird things when a black president was elected – I was fearful because I’d never encountered those actions in my adult life. Am I scared now? Why would I be, I understand what’s happening and plan to be as involved in the outcome as could possibly be to affect change for the better. I do not fear that which I now know.

By embracing the need for change, and facing my fears til they are tamped down nicely, I have nothing in common with these people. They need to step forward, I’m certainly not going to step backward. We need to find common ground again, but not on the terms they are demanding.

More goodies from WaPo, this time regarding the Passover story:

The founders of this country knew the Exodus story well. Many wrote of America as the new Israel, Britain as the new Egypt. The freedom they sought was modeled after the Exodus; yet, departing from the Hebrew Bible — which strikingly does not use the language of individual rights — our founders created explicit space for the individual in this country’s laws and cultural narrative. In this way, America was indeed a great political experiment, striving to negotiate the tension between individualism and a greater collective good. The Declaration of Independence itself articulates this tension, with its opening call for the “inalienable rights” of the individual juxtaposed against its authors’ closing commitment to “mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor.”

I was listening to a great show on revenge and forgiveness on NPR the other day. Both of these things are apparently deeply rooted survival mechanisms in the human brain. The interesting thing about revenge was that it was a way of protecting one’s gene pool in the face of injustice when there were societies without law.

The only way that I can see to prevent reversion to this type of thinking is to embrace the ideas of justice and the humanity of everyone (even the people I disagree with). To find one itty bitty little thing that I have in common with them. I don’t hold the outright racism that many of these people are screaming out about in my heart. But I do understand that many people are motivated by fear of what they do not know or understand. I do understand that there are people of many colors, religions and sexual orientations (to name a few) that have been discriminated against. They have every right to hate and fear those who have discriminated against them. Yet we hold figures like Mandela and MLK and Ghandi in high regard because they resisted without resorting to violence. I believe that every man has that in them if it is allowed to flower and grow. Common ground is what we all need right now. That would be the best revenge on those like SP. Call me crazy…..

Lainey: I understand your concerns. They live right up the road from me and are loud and write letters to the editor on a near daily basis. They scare the begeezus out of the right-wing people that I know. One works at the local hospital and is constantly complaining that he is being mistreated. There is plenty of eye-rolling and numerous hospital employees have written their own letters to the editor saying “these people do NOT speak for all of us”. And believe me, I live in a VERY red, very conservative place. The hope is that now that the crazies feel they can out themselves, voices of reason, on both sides, will continue to reveal these people for what they are (fringe folk).

Taking up arms to defend oneself is exactly what they propose.

I agree, I will not go down without a fight. My fight, however, will be different. And we need to remember that we have already won. We need to stop acting like we are somehow losing something. Obama won! Yes we did and we still can!

I agree that fighting with rational people should be different and civil, but if someone is waving a gun around me, threatening me and my family, I want to know how to protect myself…that’s all I meant. I don’t trust the crazies, because they’ve been given the green light (subliminally or otherwise) by the likes of palin…and because they are coming out of the woodwork, and some of our own congress people (anti-government/government employees???wtf) are egging them on and blatantly encouraging them…yikes! …it’s better to be defensively prepared…in my opinion.

Weaver57, roasted eggs are a Pesach tradition that I embrace, and part of the Seder plate…and many salads throughout the week.

I hard boil mine for about 10 minutes with onion skins for color and flavor, then move them to the oven and roast them in the shell. Take them out when the shells are brown. Peel them, quarter them, sprinkle with salt and pepper and a splash of lemon juice. Yummy warm, and great for salad or snacking on cold.

Hey all, visiting my mum in another part of Ireland. I have been telling her all about SP and what is going on in the US. Anyway, she just raced in to tell me that it was on the news here (she is 83 and has recently had a knee replacement, and boy can she move now). She has also recently delved into cyberspace and bought a laptop which I am using at the moment. So, hopefully am sending a link on to you, I haven’t been able to view it myself as I don’t want to mess with her computer too much, but I was able to listen to it.

It’s our day off and Mr. Terps and I checked out for free from our Socialist library (darn that Ben Franklin) a DVD of the film “Bobby”.

Very nicely done, and I was moved by the speech at the end.

Googled it (actually, I Yahoo). It was from RFK’s “On the Mindless Menace of Violence” speech in response to the assassination of MLK.

I think a lot of someones, including our Ms. Palin, could do with hearing some of these words. I quote just a [large] snippet, that seems to describe perfectly what the Republican Party is doing right now (whether they realize it as a strategy or not).

    ************

“When you teach a man to hate and fear his brother, when you teach that he is a lesser man because of his color or his beliefs or the policies he pursues, when you teach that those who differ from you threaten your freedom or your job or your family, then you also learn to confront others not as fellow citizens but as enemies, to be met not with cooperation but with conquest; to be subjugated and mastered.

We learn, at the last, to look at our brothers as aliens, men with whom we share a city, but not a community; men bound to us in common dwelling, but not in common effort. We learn to share only a common fear, only a common desire to retreat from each other, only a common impulse to meet disagreement with force.

Yet we know what we must do. We must admit the vanity of our false distinctions among men and learn to find our own advancement in the search for the advancement of others. We must admit in ourselves that our own children’s future cannot be built on the misfortunes of others. We must recognize that this short life can neither be ennobled nor enriched by hatred or revenge.”

Alan Grayson had his moneybomb fund raiser on Saturday – goal was to raise $450,000 As of 11:59 Sat Night — raised $470,000

Perhaps in those “cross-haired” areas the PalinPac is targetting, we should list the opposing Dems to get info & possible contributions. A thought!

I lamented on HuffPo over the weekend that I couldn’t contribute as I didn’t want to do anything illegal (and hurt Grayson). A number of commenters said they would contribute a little extra for me….so I would love to thank those people too.

I’m sure you’ve seen this, but it brought to my mind the grasshopper and the ant fable. I hope it’s true that they’re (RNC) spending donor money on big, lavish parties and pamperings and expensive gifts for themselves rather than pouring this money into campaign funding…greed, gotta love it (in this case).

today hubster went to the local farm supply store to get some goat feed.
on the glass counter at the checkout, there was that disgusting “African lion in the zoo” joke prominently displayed.
Hubster flat out told the store owner that it was not a joke, it was offensive, the President deserves our respect, and hubster finished with “I’m really disappointed that you condone this sort of thing”.

Owner blamed it on his wife!!!!
but store owner took it down, tore it up and threw it away.

That guy looks really wacked in the videos if you watch his eyes it looks like there is nothing there.

jojobo1- the FBI grabbed the video that was focused on Cantor but no one else has seen it yet. The two I posted today didn’t reference Cantor but they did make clear that Leboon is not about politics and doesn’t lean left or right. He’s just simply not well and is wishing ill on most of the world.

Thanks for saving this Leboon video. He stated that he made over 2000 but I was only able to find a few dozen online today .

Thanks again for saving the video clip!
