Palin Surrogate Slams Entire East Coast in Brilliant PR Move.
There she goes again…
The Palin camp had this to say before her underwhelming debut as the absentee narrator of Fox’s “Real American Stories.”
“It’s not the kind of thing that’s going to excite you guys on the East Coast, but everyone else is dying to hear stories like these,” said one of her representatives who was not authorized to speak on the record but was authorized to slam the East Coast.
Look. The East Coast contains six of the country’s ten largest metro areas and is the region that created the damn country in the first place.
That’s right, you people from the 13 original colonies would just be repulsed by inspirational stories of people overcoming hardships to achieve their dreams, and improve the lives of others. What do you know about pluck and grit and standing up in the face of obstacles?
The rest of us out there in “Real America” loooove the “Real American Stories.”
But not you chowder slurpin’, Atlantic swimmin’, Statue of Liberty keepin’, Freedom Trail walkin’, Lobster crunchin’, achievement haters. You just don’t like Freedom.
(head bang)

Nope, I double checked. Its not the freedom we don’t like, its the stupidity.
I would have to agree with you.
Our elite, east coast, Founding Fathers wouldn’t have had much patience with a divisive, trashy, dimwitted little grifter like Palin!
Plus the majority of any American population areas is not white collar salaried types, but is labor. Whether its college educated or not its still salaried, and is still earning a lot less than the national average income that is scewed becasue of the million and billioniares, of whom Sara is one.
And large portions of the entire eastern states are rural. Remember up state NY?
Once again we find that Sarah does not know squat about geography.
It’s just the way we’re (East Coasters) wired, Charlie!
Wow, just wow, but I don’t know why I’d be surprized at this point…
I don’t think that even Ben Franklin in his prime would have ever placed Sarah Palin on his “Honey Do” List, if you get the drift. (grin)
Ben was as “real” an American as you can get and stood up for us in the midst of the enemy, so to speak…. House of Parliament…
Anon. Palin surrogate may get thrown under the bus, shortly…so, we may want to see who no longer seems to be out and about or acknowledged by $P.
Sarah Palin is the definition of a f*ck up.
I never realized until Sarah explained to us about real America that I was born and raised and have lived in fake America for over 50 years.
Imagine. My. Surprise.
OMG she is such a freaking IDIOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Those fools just can’t let things go without some people-hating snark can they? I heard she was ripping off some of those stories also too.
I guess Palin has now cut off the East Coast as not rill America!
Can she do one single thing without snark? NO! This is the only venue she’s had where she’s supposed to be nice and she can’t even get that right. It’s not in her bones. She’s a rill pill that one!
Oh I forgot – Sarah is wired differently than everyone else, which is what gives her the ability to find rill Americans in the haystack. Now it all makes sense.
Sarah may be talking to Real Americans, but they will never see their candidate elected to national office if they disregard all of those electoral votes from Maine to Florida.
By the same token, I think that Fox would want as many viewers as possible watching their channel. Any statement that limits viewership is not in their interest. As a side issue, it would be interesting to learn what Fox News’ demographics look like, how many whites vs. people of color watch that channel and from which parts of the country. We already know what which is their political party, so that pretty much answers the other questions. Still, TV is in the business of selling advertising to make money. Controlling political thought is probably a close second at Fox. Some one in the home office has to be asking if they just want to solidify their base, or reach as many people as possible.
Marnie, Sarah doesn’t know squat about anything. Except being “maverick” which apparently as of today McCain no longer is and says he never was. Weren’t there t-shirts, bumper stickers, all about the two of them being mavericks? Also bangs head on desk.
I am from the West Coast and I , for one, am not dying to hear anything you have to say, Mrs. “Paylin”, except that you are going away!
I think that statement must’ve come from Bristol’s new PR firm…
“…but everyone else is dying to hear stories like these ”
Hmmm. They must have died before the show aired……because the number of people who watched her show is a drop in the vast bucket of “everyone else.”
I’m in a deep funk – and I need my mud puppies. In addition to the East Coast thing, I just heard from a classmate of mine. Now, mind you, he is not a fat, white guy (well, he is a white guy) with nothing to do but attend Tea Parties.Nor is he uneducated – he’s a retired engineer. In fact, I didn’t even know he was a Tea Partier until today, when he e-mailed me he was going to the state capital to protest the thing in the health bill that “requires” you to buy health insurance and some bills coming up on guns – and proceeded to tear into several other issues. Then he hit on the subject of Sarah Palin. Now that’s something I know about, thanks to AKM.
He went on:
“I do think the liberal leadership really is afraid of her and enjoy seeing anything that will discredit her. I think what people like about her is she is just an ordinary citizen like us and does not proclaim to be an oracle. I doubt she will ever run again, but wouldn’t surprise me to see her in a cabinet post.”
OMG – to think an educated friend of mine would think that! I have several Republican friends that think she’s a complete wingnut, so that’s comforting. But, how many out there think she’s capable of a cabinet job? Scary! Wish the book on Sarah’s lies was out – I’d send him a copy!
Venting over!
tigerwine–WOW, what a discovery. Maybe point him to some of the blogs? Scary for sure, but then again, I can’t imagine anyone who might get elected who would think she’d be a good cabinet choice…
a more appropriate response from the palin camp would be that she sucked in her debut but that she is supposed to suck. that is what everyone loves about her, dontcha know.
no one could really imagine such a catastrophe as the palin palooza.
Funny. Someone else said Palin thought the pilgrims landed in Oklahoma.
OH, this is sure to get her more viewers on the east coast! Funny. She hasn’t a clue.
Tigerwine, your friend is definitely in the minority, if he’s also intelligent, in believing Palin is capable of a cabinet post or any position that requires knowledge, common sense or thoughtful consideration. My family is divided into staunch life-long Republicans on one side and fairly liberal Democrats on the other. However, Palin did something nobody else has ever been able to do, brought both sides to agreement on an issue, that issue being $P. We all concluded that she is delusional, ignorant and totally incapable of running a city, state and especially not country. I have an aunt who is prominent in the women’s Republican organization in her state. She said that there is not a chance in hell that they would back her and there is only one county in the state where she has a slim chance of receiving backing. The small group of people who do follow $P are clueless when it comes to how few people would agree with what she has to say, let alone admire her.
It truly appears, not just wishful thinking on my part, that the number of articles about Palin that are positive in nature, to any degree, are few and far between. The comments that used to be overwhelmed by the ‘bots are also much more realistic. Is her 15 minutes finally almost over??
Are we sure that Meg left?? Sure does sound like her with only half the brain functioning.. Maybe Meg is still sending in email bombs via a secret account???
Swag-Hag and her band of Flying Monkeys strikes again!!!
“… everyone else is dying to hear stories like these…”
I’m not at all sure it’s the East Coasters who should be offended by that remark. Faked interviews hosted by and contrived to appear as though they were conducted by a xtian radical with such a famously underdeveloped intellect she thinks The Flintstones was a docu-drama, and broadcast on Fox besides, is not a formula for excitement for this lifelong westerner. And if we attribute the Eastern lack of excitement to their elitist educations, then aren’t Californians, Oregonians and Washingtonians entitled to some heat under their collars? Face it, Sarah, your fan base is pretty much limited to the squirrel meat belt.
I honestly don’t know where the former half term gov & failed VP candidate visits, but I haven’t seen too many places, from my point of view, that isn’t REAL AMERICA. Perhaps she’s just keeps looking toward Russia, but there are REAL AMERICANS everyday getting up, going to work – not knowing if they’ll have a job next week. Working hard to put food on their table & a keep a roof over their head. Who get done working 8-10 hrs and spend another 3-4 hrs a night helping their children with homework, because THEY know that education will make their childrens lives easier. They spend their weekends mowing the lawn, helping neighbors, attending church or assisting in their communities. Who shop at the local grocery store and buy a few extra cans to put in the Local Food Bank bin. The person that pours the coffee at your banquets & puts your luggage on the plane, they are Americans – they just don’t live in your tax bracket.
We are a mix of races, religions, backgrounds and our own personal triumphs. Thats what makes every US citizen “A Great American” Is San Francisco’s Chinatown more or less American than Harlem in NYC? No! Is Texas and Alaska more American than Hawaii? Which states are the ones wanting to cede from the US?
Shame on you MsQuitter – If you want to find the non-Americans, look first in the mirror and the man at your side, then toward the crowd out there at your T-bagging rallys, hateful (misspelled) signs, screaming at Washington elected officials, haters of our President. Look back on GOP Bush/Cheney with their lies that have cost a trillion dollars and untold damaged lives for a falsified war against Iraq. Look into those churches of religious zealots that spew hate instead of reaching out – they are NON-Americans in this country – standing right along with you.
sorry — done with my rant
I am dying to see “Paylin” sit down and STFU!!!
Did she forget the West Coast? Oh no, we have the famous Voyeur Club!
Perhaps she prefers the Gulf Coast? Oh…but there’s New Orleans….
Sarah may still be searching for Real America…it must be there somewhere!
Hey- what’s Mt. Redoubt doing today?
“The Alaska Volcano Observatory says a series of small earthquakes began occurring early Monday near the summit of Mount Redoubt, about 100 miles southwest of Anchorage
I. too, tigerwine ,have a well educated friend who was forwarding all kinds of heinous anti Obama things. For some time I just deleted them, but finally let her know I wanted her to remove my name from her forwarding list. I haven’t heard from her since…sad.
As far as the East Coast thing, I’ve lived in Pa all my life, surrounded by farms and Amish and plenty of self righteous wingnuts. Sure as hell am glad I don’t live in the “real America”.
OK, who was this “representative” of ms Palin and why do we think such person was speaking, authorized or not, on her behalf? Not at all clear from the quote.
Tigerwine, your friend probably gets all his info from Faux News. (sigh) Sympathies.
To my east coast cousins, hang in there. I’ve heard you have four legs and two antlers, just like me–and are real critters also, too.
OT. Sorry , this is WAY to good to pass up !!

You inspire me to teach my children manners and respect instead of hatred and futility. You inspire me to use bigger words and I’m definitely fulfilling my civic responsibilities like voting and filling out the census. Thank you so much for everything you do! Don’t listen to the people calling you “Batty,” I like you just the way you are.
as a proud east coaster, i can verify that i don’t like “real american stories.” however, i do like “the greatest american hero,” “amazing stories,” and “the muppet show,” so can i still be a real american, please please, please?!? as you can see, it’s a very long time since i have owned a tv set.
Pat in MA, I’m in Fake America too! Born and raised. We need a mudstock…
Ok #24 Desert Mudpup you officially got me to choke on my tea with —-
Face it, Sarah, your fan base is pretty much limited to the squirrel meat belt.
Having lived major portions of my life on both coasts this seems to define REAL America for SP…
STILL sputtering
Dee, I feel your frustration…
My family-in-law is largely right wing Republicans. So I get emails, from time to time…and facebook posts. I do indeed get in some trouble, but I just can’t ignore them or unfriend them. Because then, where would they ever hear any facts?
So I get in trouble, and I ruffle feathers, and try to keep it humorous. But I send those emails back, with the factcheck included. It’s too important to let it go. It lets them know they need to be able to justify their arguments, and cite sources. I don’t get personal, and I try so very hard not to get angry, and so far all the damage I have done has been reversible (though it took a few weeks to even talk to my mother in law recently).
Don’t let it go. The truth is too important. Our future as a country is too important. Keep the conversation alive.
My father gave me some great advice many years ago, although it was about my misbehaving daughter at the time:
“If you don’t talk to her, you can’t have any influence with her”
Boycott the Discovery Networks
Target: To remove Sarah Palin from host of Sarah Palin’s Alaska – 32,509 have signed. http://www.thepetitionsite.com/takeaction/806038917
Many kids I know from Maine volunteered, served in Iraq. Some that I don’t know never came back alive. All the way down the East Coast, hundreds of volunteers from small towns, big cities, firefighters, rescue teams, were quick to respond to Haiti earthquake relief, hurricane Katrina, 9/11 along with their friends from every state, from east to west. From all walks of life and from all colors too.
Sarah’s spokesperson needs to realize that these “east coasters” would be in Alaska in a flash, in the event of a natural disaster, and would put their lives on the line to help their American neighbors in need.
SP’s unamed spokesperson confirms Sarah’s need to divide and tear up the country. Sarah Palin is a very very pitiful person.
The statement is a hate attackalleging the east coast is anti these inspiring stories. It misses the real point by a mile. The program overall was so so, Palin is not a super skilled natural talented host and the production was lacking. Get over it, it’s not going to be a classic like Seinfeld, Mash , Friends, Jeoparday etc and run for ten years. This has nothing to do with any part of the country hating anyhthing or anyone nor the familiar refgrain Palins being “attacked” boo hoo she’s a victim! The majority of people do not share Palin’s grandiose sense of her self she’s #1 at and master of everything.

TIGERWINE…my mom used to call folks like your friend “educated fools.”
try not to feel bad about it. maybe someday your friend will understand better. i think what hurts is when our friends show us that they don’t know us at all and that they assume we are as shallow and conscientiously ignorant as they themselves thereby, in effect, demeaning us.
I think a more accurate (anonymous) quote would be “everyone would die of boredom if they heard stories like these- from Palin”.
I reside in the High Plains Desert, gateway to the Southwest, and not part of the Squirrel Meat Belt (heh heh…good one).
I often eat my lunch on the site of one of the battlefields of the Revolution. Can Scarah say she has ever done the same?
More importantly, it is becoming clear that she regards the urban US, east, west or in between, as “not real”. I love small town life. But I know that our country is no longer rural and agrarian. Someone from Idaho and Alaska who has never really travelled isn’t likely to understand that addressing urban issues is imperative to being a national leader.
Come back to Philadelphia, Sarah. Let me show you life beyond the Liberty Bell and Tony Luke’s steak shop (where you didn’t even eat the cheesesteak). There is much for you to learn.
It is too bad that Sarah’s spokesperson is writing off the East Coast as not interested in Sarah’s Real America. That’s where it started, Jamestown in Virginia, Plymouth Colony in Massachusetts. The inspiration for the Tea Party movement comes from Boston Harbor. The birth of the United States took place on the East Coast in thirteen colonies. Their representatives signed the Declaration of Independence in Philadelphia; yes, Pennsylvania is also part of the East Coast. The Star Spangled Banner, our national anthem was composed in a boat offshore of Maryland. Sorry Sarah and Sarah’s Spokesperson: The Real America began on the East Coast; it’s time to read some history!
Great post. Check out mine at http://www.malialitman.wordpress.com, where my post today is entitled, “If Ignorance is Bliss, Palin Must Be Ecstatic!” Thanks, Malia Litman
you do know that the East Coast is the REAL America, doncha sarah?…we were here first! you know that Constitution you keep ‘defending’, well, guess what? …read your damn history!! …before you pick a side to argue…moron!
Could we all just take one moment to call to mind the thousands of East Coast people, you know – moms, dads, sons, daughters, spouses… who died downtown NY on 9/11? They were real Americans. Perhaps SP doesn’t think so.
Us east coast elites just love two year old interviews with Miss Dead Lake Lucille’s voice splattered all over them. Really, we are REAL!!
Born and raised New Englander here, grew up in The Constitution State (CT had the first constitution in the country, possibly in the world, and thus was pretty key to the development of the federal US version!) and currently live in the heartland of the American Revolution, where they recreate the Battle of Lexington & Concord EVERY year. You know, where the PATRIOTS kicked some serious British butt to free the colonies from the tyranny of King George?
What city was most devastated on 9/11? Oh, is NYC on the East Coast? And given not only the longer history than anywhere else, we have the most dense population, so I’d be willing to bet there has been more East Coast blood shed for this country than any other region. We pay among the most into the federal treasury and get among the least back. And on the “family values” side, MA has the lowest divorce rate in the country, and many of the lowest teen pregnancy rates are states on the East Coast.
But apparently we aren’t “real Americans.” I’m so tired of this bull$#!t. And on a related note, if I hear one more whiney teabagger crying about how they want their country back I’m going to scream.

Isn’t $arah’s Godfather Murdoch and the Mothership Network on the ………………………. East Coast?
idjits
Once again she reminds us that she has DISQUALIFIED herself from national office by telling some of us (New Yorker here) that we are not real Americans from the pro-America parts of the country.
she is over as far as national office goes
they might make her head of EPA just for a joke though
This is some excellent advice:
“Don’t let it go. The truth is too important. Our future as a country is too important. Keep the conversation alive.
My father gave me some great advice many years ago, although it was about my misbehaving daughter at the time:
“If you don’t talk to her, you can’t have any influence with her”.”
Usually, I think, “life is too short to talk with morons,” but now I’m going to have to take a vacation from that stance and tell supporters of the Half-Term Governor Grifter Granny, the only cabinet position is Grifter Granny is eligible for is looking in the corner cabinet for her missing brain.
Hint to Granny Grifter: look in that blind corner cabinet. You might need to get you your hands and knees to dig in that corner, because your brain has been missing in action for a while.
It’s all I can do to keep from following that up by saying “Jacka$$…”
Tigerwine,
I was being treated for breast cancer during the time of the 2008 election. When I found out my oncologist supported McCain/Palin, I changed doctors. I could not believe someone smart enough to save lives was supporting a dunce like Palin. I lost all confidence in her. It was mind-boggling.
I’m from NH. We didn’t care much for Governor Quitter, so I’m guessing our membership in REAL AMERICA was discontinued.
That whirring sound you hear from that elitist east coast is the bones of our Founding Father spinning in their graves at the idea that this mindless simpleton has been considered by ANYone to have ANY qualifications for national office.
Oh and, by the way, Sarah…ever hear of the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island? Ya know…the two things that greeted many of those ‘Real Americans’ that arrived in this country from all over the world for decades? Probably your ancestors, in fact. Yeah, they’re both in New York which, since we all know your geography is pretty p!ss poor, is ON THE EAST COAST!!!!
I think I need an aspirin…
Her authorized “unauthorized” representative just skipped over the fact that it was her performance that was slammed, not the “inspirational” stories (she is boring, canned, staring at a telepromper, etc). Sheesh…..
What a doofus to insult East Coast citizens. They make up a big bulk of this countries population. Duh!
I am so confused! I don’t know if I’m a Real American!
I live in a small town-check
I was an educator of children for 30 years-check
I have done my civic duty, voted in every election since turning 21 and served on jury duty twice-check
I have served my country by making sacrifices as a Navy wife for 19 years-check
I’ve never been in jail or even gotten a ticket-check
I believe in the Constitution-check
I love my country-check
I was raised as a Christian-check
I raised a sucessful son-check
I have no debt except a mortgage-check
How am I doing so far?
…..and while we are at it dear Sarah and all you real American patriots from the real America, have you Teabags every heard of Crispus Attucks? No? well look him up on the innertubes. i will give you at hint. Mr. Attucks gave his life at the REAL Tea Party. i don’t believe your ancestors had yet located this continent on a map yet so maybe you didn’t know.
Pathetic that Palin insults the east coast when thousands of them serve in Iraq and Afghanistan. While the twit who quit, makes millions off of her reta*ded followers.
I doubt that many eastcoasters will be watching her show on the discovery channels. I wonder how that network feels about miss whiney pants now, also, too. Better yet, I wonder how the sponsors feel about her?
@Jenny –
Do you watch NASCAR?
Do you wear a bumpit?
Does your car get 15mpg or less?
Do you fly the Southern Cross or the Don’t Tread on Me?
Do you get your news from Fox and only Fox?
I could go on & on……..
Speaking of bumpits and NASCAR… someone posted a link to the Politifact Obameter the other day, I was checking it out today and noticed that they have the same-ish thing for loads of politicians. This would be an interesting link to send to the icky people who send out emails about how great Bible Spice is/how evil Obamacare is/that Obama is the antichrist:
http://politifact.com/personalities/sarah-palin/
Read the post.
Read the comments.
You are witnessing what Palin does best:
Divide and anger Americans.
Scut work of a demagogue.
Even though I live in central PA, I believe my area can not be counted as the East Coast! I think that I am in rill America!
Here’s why: our schools are closed on the first day of deer hunting season, everyone here has his/her favorite recipe for squirrel pot pie (I kid you not!), most Ford trucks sport 2 bumper stickers – “Abortion ends a life” and “I support the death penalty,” and people still go bowling here for fun.
In fact, a recent US Presidential candidate bowled in my hometown during the campaign…his name escapes me…it was “foreign sounding”…. like he wasn’t born in the USA…..hmm…not someone who would have enjoyed “Sarah Palin’s Rill America”….but someone who could really help “rill Americans” by fighting for health care and jobs and financial reform and…ok you get it.
Well, Mrs. Palin, *Real Americans* do *real* work. They don’t recycle someone else’s and pass it off as their own.
I imagine the folks at Pox Snooze were tasked with finding something – anything – in which to make a lazy, untalented and unimaginative Palin look good. This was all they could find, and still she couldn’t pull it off.
Yet, in true Palin fashion, it’s someone else’s fault. Surely she couldn’t publicly blame Pox (you know the hand that feeds her), so it must be the East Coast. I got news for her –
- Sarah, you didn’t play well in the midwest, either!
@Jenny –
Do you watch NASCAR? What’s that?
Do you wear a bumpit? No
Does your car get 15mpg or less? No, but it is American
Do you fly the Southern Cross or the Don’t Tread on Me? No
Do you get your news from Fox and only Fox? Absolutely not!
I could go on & on……..
I also strongly believe in the separation of church and state.
I voted for Obama who WON!
I am pro choice even though I personally wouldn’t have an abortion, even though I thought about it once, just like SP
I respect other people’s opinions
I am intolerant of intolerance
I no longer practice organized religion, but think everyone should be allowed to do their own thing.
Gay marriage is ok with me
I am an active environmentalist and believe in climate change
So am I still a REAL American?
Oh, I’m so going to send a link to this to grown up son in Maine.
Here’s hoping SP doesn’t make the mistake , nor her mouthpiece, of saying this kind of thing in actual real live proximity to lobster community DIL grew up in…
Lobstermen dunk doofus’
Even those in bumpits…
Right in the drink…
Right away…
Chomp that rill dill SP.
Oh, goodness me NO! Of course east coast elitists such as MY family could never get excited about stories of over-coming adversity, working hard and ultimately prospering! Why, the founding fathers of my own snooty high-brow family first came here from England in 1659, eschewing their family wealth and position to…
Well, no. Actually, they were sent here as children with NOTHING, by their uncle after their parents died. Their descendants have fought in every American war since then (my little branch alone is ex-Army, ex-Navy, ex-Airforce, current Airforce and current Marine); occupations run the gamut, we have doctors and nurses, judges and lawyers, teachers and students, craftsmen, tradesmen, entrepeneurs…
Why SHOULD we care about ‘real American stories’? We got ours, get your own!
OT – Looks like Redoubt might be waking up from its nap…
http://www.avo.alaska.edu/activity/Redoubt.php
Back on topic – sort of. Palin would have benefited from some experience with the East coast. For instance she could have finished her college career a lot more efficiently in the Connecticut valley in Mass, there are five colleges all within a few miles of each other… Smith, Holyoak, Hampshire, Amherst and U Mass. Of course she might have had some trouble with admission.
@63 Jennywa – okay, you are a ‘rill amurikan’ in my eyes
Of course, I am also, too, in WA!
One thing the secret Sarah spokesperson forgot to check was the number of people from the EAST Coast who book Alaska cruises. I have lived among ‘em (East Coasters) and find most to be dear hearts and gentle people, just like the gang in my hometown, Fairbanks.
PS, my friends who park cars at ritzy spots around New York tell me that Sister Sarah spends a fair amount of time in those there parts. She loves the glam!
KN, had she done that in MA, we’d know the real reason she had to go to so many schools to graduate.
Maybe the volcano will slow global warming with the airborne particulates reflecting the solar radiation, though, so $P can go back to AK and her mouth will freeze shut. One can only hope.
How is it that even those around Sarah manage to offend someone or some part of the country just like she always does. Oh, wait – stupid is as stupid does – birds of a feather, and all that.
And actually, by saying that east coast people wouldn’t like what she’s doing because they are too whatever, she has managed to insult those of us in the rest of the country that don’t like SP’s fake show for the same reasons.
I have a few friends that sent me junk about president Obama.I finially asked them not to send me that kind of garbage. Then sent them links to Presidents Obama speeches ect.Took care of that matter. but relatives from your state and I have been going back and forth about this health care insurance deal.He claims it will hurt his kids and his wife says it also..I asked him if because of his mother and father not being able to get insurance he should be able to understand the need and that being able to keep his sons on his insurance plan till they were 26,how could that hurt them and did he want his elders to have no insurance or to have to pay more for drugs because of the donut hole. That made him backtrack a little because of the way it was put. They just said they would wait and see.I asked why they were so afraid that he could keep the insurance he had no problem.
I think cluster fox news was actually making fun of her, and her and her supporters just don’t get it. It aired on April fools day, real Americans that don’t quit.
Pat in MA gave me a big belly laugh.
Hmmmm. I’ve been to those imaginary American places. Like Canada and Mexico. Oh, wait. They’re Americans, too, just not USAers.
I’m sorry she left out the Left Coast. We are offended not to be standing with our Real Tea Party Coast siblings. Oh, but she wants to work in Hollywood. Other than San Francisco/Berkeley is there an area more liberal than Hollywood? Well, maybe Santa Cruz and Boston . . . .
MonaLisa, bet we’re related. This DAR’s family arrived in 1621. (But, no, I don’t belong to that august body) I was just looking the other day at hand written family recipes dating back over the centuries. The copies themselves aren’t that old–from the 1940′s. But some recipes have you boiling soup by adding hot rocks and cooking over open fires. Today, they look like you’re playing at camping out at home.
And now for my OT good news! After a year of unemployment checks (thank you, Feds for your socialist generosity) I have landed a part time job! I am so ecstatic to be going to work again (start Thursday) but this will cut severely into intertubing. I’m hoping my unemployment checks will be reduced, but still helping me out until I find another part time or a full time job.
Woo Hoo! Breaking out the ice cold lemon aide!
@31 Kimosabe: “OK, who was this ‘representative’ of ms Palin and why do we think such person was speaking, authorized or not, on her behalf?” Fair enough… so went and looked around a little.
The quote originates with a NYT story by David Carr at http://www.nytimes.com/2010/04/05/business/media/05carr.html?hp. The wording in the story indicates the author spoke directly to the source (it is a direct quote), but that he could not give their name on the record. Mr. Carr’s biography on the NYT site shows him as the paper’s media writer in the Business section, with a long career writing about media and popular culture. I would have a high confidence that the conversation took place as reported, and he was following standard journalistic practice in not naming the source. The article is not a slam piece, either, which gives the statement even more credibility.
I don’t remember who on the thread had mentioned that the Sarah Fans thought she might get a ” Cabinet Position “.
I say…. give ALL the Cabinets to her to Manage.
Home Depot has a WHOLE Dept. with cabinets… kitchen cabinets, bathroom cabinets and some even have mirrors so that she can look at herself all day.
Or lock her in a cabinet! 4-8 years would do the country a world of good.
Congratulations, Bakers Dozen! I’ve thought for a while that the economy is changing, despite what the academics have been saying. (But you forgot The People’s Republic of Santa Monica. I can say this ’cause I live not far away and went to school in the SF Bay area. And grad school in that heathen area of Greenwich Village. I think I’ve hit the liberal trifecta.)
Lock her in a cabinet with bars on the front, complete with the orange jump suit, please.
Krubozumo Nyankoye
“…she could have finished her college career a lot more efficiently in the Connecticut valley in Mass, there are five colleges all within a few miles of each other… ”
Priceless! Maybe they would have even remembered her. Nah.
April 14 she is supposed to be speaking at a Tea Party in Boston, so I guess you East Coast Elitists now have a really good reason to come out with placards giving her some what for about her ‘representative’s’ comment.
I was offended enough the first time I heard the ‘real America’ comment, I am appalled at Fox taking that moniker for their mash-up of old footage (albeit worthy in and of itself) and trying to make her seem like she’s the ‘inspiration’ behind the idea (clearly not), and now thoroughly disgusted by this comment.
Gosh darn I wish I could get her on my fictional talk show and ask her real questions, and insist she answer them, and not take scripted talking points as an answer. I’d hound her and hound her to answer questions, to explain what she means by (for example) ‘tax cuts’ and explain why that would work to improve the economy.
Speaking of which, when’s she gonna be on the Sunday morning news programs? Can’t be a viable candidate for anything if you can’t stand up to the Sunday morning Talking Heads!
While S’error and Her tribe of ” Camp Counselors”
( did she ever go to Band Camp..?) take another opportunity to mock or ridicule people Her ‘ usual ‘ jabs go toward deriding people and their Education.
Is she branching out and no longer a ‘ one trick pony’..?
Malia Littman on her blog today has a very good write-up worth taking a read.
She covers Babble – on Barbie, Glenduhh and Lush Limbaugh and ties them all together.

Hah, we should be so lucky. Palin would have had a very hard time at the 5 colleges. Much too much diversity. And boy howdy, talk about elitist, damn, you had to have a decent GPA or they would toss you.
Of course to the likes of Mrs. Palin places like New York, Boston, etc. don’t at all represent the *real america*. Real americuns don’t know how to work or invent or innovate, they just grift. She’s raking in millions because she is the best con since Carry Nation. And the rubes and idiots who idolize her will never tumble to the fact that she is a fake.
“It’s not the kind of thing that’s going to excite you guys on the East Coast, but everyone else is dying to hear stories like these,”
If you follow the old newspaper adage that “dog bites man” is not news, but “man bites dog” is, then the point of this comment is that inspirational acts are so quotidian, so common place among us from the east coast that it is not newsworthy. And conversely, not so common to Palin’s followers as to render it inspiring and remarkable. Well, at least that is how I read it, and I am sure that anyone with a journalism degree would agree.
…I’m just too disgusted to even bother…… just go away Sarah….
Off topic (sorry)
Excellent piece @ TPM
An Open Letter to Conservatives
snip] Your party — the GOP — and the conservative end of the American political spectrum have become irresponsible and irrational. Worse, it’s tolerating, promoting and celebrating prejudice and hatred. Let me provide some examples — by no means an exhaustive list — of where the Right as gotten itself stuck in a swamp of hypocrisy, hyperbole, historical inaccuracy and hatred. [end snip
rather long but great read

She disses the East Coast, she ignores our Native Americans (who are truly the Real Americans) , she avoids the West Coast which is primarily “blue” and she scams the “low information” voters who seem to exist in her “real America” . I live on the West Coast but am an East Coaster tonight in spirit. This woman and her “surrogates” are beyond belief. I want to hear a definitive definition from her or her people as to what “Real America” is and how it can be that any of us can be excluded.
nwsfm@68: I went to one of those 5 colleges and there are no open doors for her to push through there.
As to the East Coast: hmmmmm. Hey Sarah, You know that flag that you have pinned to your chest everywhere you go? Well, the 13 stripes on it represent …..wait for it……the east coast moron.
I live in Alasssska so (although I don’t have a bumpit, a pregnant teenage daughter, a moosehead on my wall or wolfpelt on my couch and I definitely don’t watch NASCAR), I guess I rate as a “real umercan” don’t-cha-think?
Where you live, what you look like, how you vote, how much money you make, how hard you may or may not be struggling at this moment in time does not negate your eligibility for “real American” status. THAT is what this country is supposed to be about. The sooner you get that the better. Stop insulting all of us every time you open your nasty mouth.
AS to inspiring stories….each and every one of the mudpuppies have VERY inspiring stories of their own. We DO NOT need you to do a pi**poor job of attempting to narrate them for us.
Just want to ask a favor in this otherwise great dialog of the Mudpups. Some publicist 10 years ago came up with the boneheaded notion that a male fan of stock car racing is automaticaly a republican. I have been a fan since watching the cars fly off the new Daytona track 50 years ago and have never been “one of them”. And I always disliked daddy Earnhart. So easy with the tarbrush, some of us progressives like racing. And none of the raceweek coverage seen over two days showed or even talked about Palin (C-Alaska) showing up. They all wanted to talk about Danika.
Sorry Jerry, didn’t mean to insult you.
Liking NASCAR does not negate your inherent “Real American-ness” either. You are always “one of us”.
I have to admit: Danika is pretty cool even if I don’t watch her race.
Palin (Q-Alaska).
To Enjay @83
I had seen a shortened synopsis of this letter on one of the talk shows and figured what was said was fairly typical of how most conservative politicians these days have behaved/responded etc, etc. Having read the whole thing, I was astounded. Not only the volumn of the “crap” they have spewed, but that I had heard it all before in bits and pieces at one time or another this past year. Putting it all together as the writer did was overwhelming and mindboggling. How does one digest all that and not feel dirty? Those folks, as the writer said, have a lot of work to do. Thanks for the link, I think. (Good grief)
Funny, I live on the east coast, too. NC, as a matter of fact, a state that went blue for our President. And half of the “southern” states are on the east coast, too, maybe not quite as progressive as NC, but coming along slowly but surely if interlopers like Palin, Limpballs and the yahoos at Faux News would leave us alone. Some of us might be a little slow, but not all of us are stupid. Of course, the non-thinking, idiotic Palin probably believes all us southerners really welcome this most northern of carpetbaggers whose only goal is making a fortune for herself and to divide us even further into another civil war. Well, hell no, we won’t go! Scuttle back to AK, Mrs. Todd Palin, and crawl back under that tundra–or won’t you be welcome back there, either?
yep. My comment at the Huffpo when I saw this was to invite her to visit my fair state… and I am sure we could find some way to welcome her… My thought was handcuffs. And not in a good way
sarah just say’s s^*t to stay on the radar screen. She can’t discuss anything of substance.
I really think it is time to celebrate.
Miss Dead Lake Lucille is OVER as a National candidate.
The goal has been met!
At least, my goal has been met.
But we continue to make sure her influence continues to wane with all except her bots.
That sound you just heard was Washington, Jefferson, Patrick Henry, and all the many Real and First Americans from Virginia rolling over, collectively, in their graves.
I am tried of this crap from the Quitter…And it’s time for all Real Americans to stand up to her BS.
Read Andrew Sullivan’s rebuttal to David Carr’s piece on the “authenticity of the Quitter @ thedailydish…money quote..
“The only thing authentically American about her is her total lack of scruples in making a living. But she won’t admit that either.
The East Coast…isn’t that a continent next to the city of Africa?
A dead carcass emits gas that makes more intelligent noise than this vapid nitwit, and anyone who would care to handle her must be even dumber.
Re: my list for Jenny (above) that included NASCAR and bumpits and stuff — it has to be all at the same time/same person — doesn’t count if you only do one or two things on the list, has to be all of them.
Since we’re supposed to be moving to TX soon, where there will be many delusional SP supporters, I’ve decided to tell any who question me/my voting/my Obama bumper sticker/etc that anyone who believes in (or just believes) SP is NOT a real Republican. I am a real Republican, one whom my party alienated during the GWB years. I have the marriage lines & high-falutin GOP wedding attendees to prove it (which I seriously doubt any of them have/had). Belief in SP and the use of the term “Obamacare” are conversation-stoppers for me — those two things, combined or singly, are deal-breakers for me. I cannot believe we are moving to TX………………………
Sorry, this started as a clarification re: NASCAR and ended in a rant, cuz I just read some SP stuff over at Sully’s Atlantic site that put me in that sort of mood.
At the risk of being gross, which is a hazard when discussing Scarah, she metaphorically appears to be a massive mound of bear skat when, in actuality, she is more like a mouse f*rt. It is an exercise in scope and magnitude.
prisonernumbersix -
Yeah , the amount of compassion and knowledge in sarah’s soul would not even fill the pimple on a flea’s ass. And it’s sad that we have to insult bears , mice and fleas to describe her also , too.
@97….lol
psminidivapa @ 61
You forgot the Bush bumper stickers that are still on the central PA trucks.
ENJAY@83 posted a great link
i have copied a small part just to wet your appetite to check the rest. like Enjay said it is a long post but i believe you will enjoy it.

History
If you’re going to use words like socialism, communism and fascism, you must have at least a basic understanding of what those words mean (hint: they’re NOT synonymous!)
You can’t cut a leading Founding Father out the history books because you’ve decided you don’t like his ideas.
You cant repeatedly assert that the president refuses to say the word “terrorism” or say we’re at war with terror when we have an awful lot of videotape showing him repeatedly assailing terrorism and using those exact words.
If you’re going to invoke the names of historical figures, it does not serve you well to whitewash them. Especially this one.
You can’t just pretend historical events didn’t happen in an effort to make a political opponent look dishonest or to make your side look better. Especially these events. (And, no, repeating it doesn’t make it better.)
You can’t say things that are simply and demonstrably false: health care reform will not push people out of their private insurance and into a government-run program ; health care reform (which contains a good many of your ideas and very few from the Left) is a long way from “socialist utopia”; health care reform is not “reparations”; nor does health care reform create “death panels”.
Is it possible SP is hoping to fill Michael Steele’s position, as Chair of RNC? Wonder if he was scapegoated by some in his party, about the bondage club expenses? So that he could step down and be replaced by SP? Imagine what she and her friends could do with that RNC funds and chequing account?
AUSTIN!!! hey there…that’s a goodie. i am writing it down.
$$$arah Plain & $imple, the cotton candy of intellectual nutrition. FAUX News the carnival side show purveyor of inane opinions. A marriage made in . . . . I’m only surprised that it took this long for her love of publicity and money to have met up with FOX News pundit hiring formula of loud, wrong and poorly educated. Never before has the CLUELESS right wing nutball audience had so many choices, but one has to finally expect that this is truly ‘the bottom of the barrel’ into which they reach for wisdom.
Now pass me some ‘chowdah…
Isn’t Fox based in NYC? Doesn’t Palin get her paycheck from that “unAmerican” East Coast company? Seems Palin likes the East Coast for her out-of-control new wardrobe shopping and for the money she collects from her owner, Fox.
Now, she “unofficially” disses the East Coast? Doesn’t that seem like biting the hand that feeds her?
Another ‘off the wall’ statement to keep her in the news? And, the sad part of all of this is that so many fall for it.
As a resident of Wilmington NC, I’m pleased as punch to be included among the east coast elite who don’t find Real Stories about Real Americans exciting. Or even interesting. Except I’ve always believed North Carolina was populated by Real Americans, same as every other state I’ve lived in (Ohio, Wisconsin, Maryland and Indiana). Guess being close to the ocean and being in the same time zone as New York disqualifies us. And so many of my neighbors supported her bid for the vice presidency, too.
Give her a map of the USA and ask her to locate West Point.
Rill Americans $Paymenow?!!! Rilly.
West Point SCOUT? i doubt she could find the Bronx on a map.
What makes you all think she could even find the East Coast? She can barely find her cabin to pay the taxes on it.
weRpennst8@105 I was desperately trying to forget the Bush years! You have brought them back to me with your bumper sticker comment, and now I must drink wine. Bad pennst8!! (We have seen the same bumper stickers)
