Almost would-be ex-half-gov’s son-in-law Levi Johnston has apologized to the Palin family, particularly Sarah Palin for stuff he said that wasn’t entirely true. Formerly-estranged and now re-cozied up with Palin’s eldest daughter his former girlfriend, turned abstinence spokeswoman re-turned girlfriend, the young Johnston made the apology yesterday. We don’t know what the stuff is exactly, or how true or not true it is, or was, or might be. But we do know that he’d rather eat crow now, than poison turkey at Thanksgiving dinner with the Palin family.
The suddenly wordsmithed Johnston aked the Palins to “accept my regrets and forgive my youthful indiscretion.”
The Department of the Interior’s Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Regulation and Enforcement (BOEM) announced today that BP America Inc. has been assessed a civil penalty of $5.2 million for submitting “false, inaccurate, or misleading” reports for energy production that occurred on Southern Ute Indian Tribal lands in southwestern Colorado. One of the lighter moments came, amid audience chuckling, when Parnell visibly squirmed after being asked whether he supported Fairbanks attorney Joe Miller or Sen. Lisa Murkowski in the Republican primary for U.S. Senate.Parnell eventually said he would give his support to whomever wins the primary, which was the same response that Walker and Little later gave. Samuels and Hlatcu said they support Murkowski, while Heikes endorsed Miller. French said he backs Democratic candidate Scott McAdams, the mayor of Sitka.
Code Blue!
Senator Mark Begich was on hand last week to meet EMTs and celebrate two new ambulances going to the communities of Ninilchik and Nikolaevsk under the Code Blue Project. I saw both ambulances outside the Senaor’s office and then again as they headed down the Seward Highway later in the day.

Ya know…we just lost a Coast Guard Helicopter and most of their crew down here in Southeast Alaska. If Levi Johnston had half the balls these men and women have….he would have made something admirable of himself. Instead he played the, “Hillbilly” love song from Wasillabillyville….this whole lot makes me so sick! Sorry….but angry and sad at our loss of some very good men, fathers, brothers and all around decent people…something that is seriously lacking in regards to everything weird Palinand Levi. Sicko’s the lot of them!

One thing to add to the Levi story: apparently, according to Mercede Johnston, Levi (or someone) left a message on her phone that she was to take down her blog today or she and their mother, Sherry, would never see or talk to Levi or Tripp again. Sounds possible considering what we know of Sarah, control freak extraordinaire. Just thought I would add this detail so people can investigate further. (As for my opinion, I’ve read Mercede’s blog and it rings true as a voice of a young woman trying to sort through what would overwhelm many of us. Pretty brave of her to continue despite the alleged threats.)
the Levi thing sounds so strange….and isn’t the child custody hearing suppose to come up relatively soon ?? perhaps there’s something Sarah doesn’t want coming out in those hearings… any bets that the child custody thing gets settled out of court before the hearing ???
He can say what he wants. That little speech doesn’t sound like Levi at all. How sad he is throwing the 2 people who supported him under the bus. I hope his sister keeps her blog up. If the good people of Wasilla banded together and tell the truth then the fear factor would be broken. I don’t believe Levi lied. She is just cleaning and the loose mess for the 2012 run for president. It won’t help her.

Begich has been at turns annoying me and been encouraging. His stance with Lisa concerning the Shell “bendy-straw” project really dissapointed me. But, I was glad to see him on KTUU the other day with the Vetrans organization that is encouraging renewable energy policy.
I am so bummed about Levi’s apology. I have a heavy feeling over me about it. I’m not a big Bible scholar, but for some reason the phrase “Is Levi the First Horseman of the Apocalypse?” has actually gone through my head. I might be overreacting a little. Maybe I just need a little more sleep and some Vitamin A.
It is so tragic that it is causing a rift with his sister and by extension his mother.

I’m thinking maybe it was Justice rolling over in her grave (along with her sister, Decency) They must have gotten word of Levi’s tragic decision to sell his soul and kowtow to The Crazy Lady…

I haven’t heard any reports of damage as yet, but apparently they felt it in Talkeetna, too. Levi’s statement seems strangely out of character. Until now, his story has had a ring of truth to it. I just hope all works out well for him, Mercede, and Tripp.
I was out walking my dog and missed it. But when I got back, my grandparents’ wedding photo had fallen over.
A 5.2 is nothing to sneeze at. Hope you are all ok. If you are close the the epicenter it is huge. Be safe. I went through a 6.8 with aftershocks in the 5′s so I understand.

I guess this proves that Levi is a liar, we just don’t know for sure if he was lying then or if he is lying now. So sad for such young people to be caught up in the games people play.
Glad to hear BP was slapped on the wrist (5.2M$) in Colorado. I hope that will become a trend. I know that is just pocket change for them, but I hope they have to start paying their dues everywhere!

Excellent! It is great to have more evidence that the Palin’s try to coerce people to ‘sit down and shut up’. And it’s also nice to hear something ‘from the front’ of the filming of her TV show.

As someone speculated on another site, maybe the Palin’s needed to bring Levi back into the fold, otherwise there would be nobody competent to do the Hunting Episode. Also, Levi is a cutie, and TV needs a little eye candy for the ladies. With seven episodes left, I all but guarantee he’ll be in one or more.
People are right in telling him to watch his back.
Worst thing she could do while making a disclaimer about her Pebble Mine position (which is perfectly reasonable for her to do if she thinks it’s important) is to make even one hint of snark about the guy, or say anything in any way mean, or suggesting anything was ‘his fault’ or to call him an opportunist – he already called himself that, she does not need to. If she does it reflects badly on her. Very badly.
If she does it on Facebook I will have no hesitation to join the comment thread and tell her how un-adult and unprofessional it is, yes, using my real name and having all my Facebook friends know what I said.
And by extension, them finding out what she’s doing in her “Real Alaska” program.

It’s me ….again. Just got back from dentist, finished root canal and now wants my last wisdom tooth.I will probably give in- I’m such a quitter. Since I leve here in NW Ioway I can’t tell you what an earthquake sounds or feels like. Never seen actual sock-eye salmon or grizzly bears( although the bears on tele from your area look more like Brown Bears), I have seen and heard politicians that are so far out of Earth’s orbit, that they scare me. Sarah Palin type scary. 5th District Iowa right wingnut Steve King. We get cold and snow here and my part of the state is colder because its rock-ribbed Republican Red.But I digress. Any chance I can get an authentic Sock-eye red Salmon with Queen Esther’s sig to tease right wing friends?
Sort of a P.S. I sent an e-mail to Discovery Channel or whoever is behind SP’s show, expressing my opinion that a network with family viewing needs to be made aware of the fact that some of SP’s political ads look to be advocating the shooting of political enemies. I got a thank you note in return with assurances blah, blah, blah. I feel better.
Thursday am: Just saw a new tv ad from Palin appealing to “Mom’s” to stand up. Wonder if this ad created the need for an apology from Levi? And how come we never see her ads in Alaska?
