Open Thread – Loot

Happy Boxing Day, Mudpups! Have you recovered? Was Santa good to you? Are you as skilled on your new gear as she is?

It was a no (or minimal) drama Christmas, which was relaxing.

I can usually count on one screaming rant from either my Mother or my sister. The only major one occurred on the phone between them while I was driving my parents’ to my sister’s house. So pretty much avoided it.

Santa delivered the trash can I needed early. The city trucks crunched mine, which they will only replace for $100 and you still don’t own it. So my parent’s gave me a combo birthday/Christmas present of a new trash can. I’ll be painting it all over with my address, taking a picture, then sending it to the city saying this is my property and if they damage it, they will be billed for a replacement or I’ll see them in court.

I also got a book (and it was on my amazon list unbeknownst to my Mother), a DVD (Where the Red Fern Grows Part 2 if anyone wants it) and cash from my Dad. Two calendars (William Wegman Man’s Best Friend Puppies and 20th Anniversary) from my sister. A gift card to Home Depot from my brother. All in all a good Christmas. Dinner with everyone was good despite a third wheel at the feast. I guess that’s the price my brother in law pays for free car repair. Inviting the mechanic to dinner. That’s why we were late. Had to go back for the creepy crawler board we forgot to bring at my brother-in-law’s request.

Hopefully New Year’s will be a lot quieter. I’ll be baking Cinnamon Rolls.

Christmas day was good and spent how it was meant to be. The days before and after…nuts!

Still trying to untangle a mess with our ‘new’ airline that takes things out, or is suppose to, and bring things in, again a suppose to!!

Stress and more stress than was needed this season.

Looking to a New Year and hopefully starting with a ‘cleaned slate’ by then!

She nails that parallel parking every time. Amazing hand/eye coordination. I would never have tried a stunt like that on my least sober, young and dumb days.No children or others were slaughtered near me for which I am truly grateful. If only the rest of the country would be as considerate of my delicate sensibilities.

“The new design to run of rays can effectively avoid the contortion of image, and makes the super wide angle, the larger luminous flux, the higher visual acuteness, good for color reduction, which makes the high quality of photgrapy.”

But happy holidays to you, too, AKM.

Not my holiday. Did have a l-o-n-g weekend with my beloved, which was quite welcome.
