It’s Splitsville for Palin and Fox

palinfox.11.12

No more fireside chats from big echo-ey rooms. No more standing by Lake Lu-sill shrieking over the wind while trying to keep the hair piece on. No more fake mountain backdrops hung in the studio/garage. It’s confirmed. Sarah Palin is no longer working for Fox News, sources close to the network’s now former spokeswig confirm.

Palin, of course, says that she turned down their new contract offer.  Fox merely “wished her the best with her future endeavors.”  Now that she is being defined in the national conversation mostly in terms of her own irrelevance, we can assume the offer was considerably less than her previous $1 million a year.

Tensions arose several times between Ms. Palin and Fox, leading to speculation that the two parties might part ways this month. At one point last year, she took to Facebook — her most direct way to communicate with fans — to complain about what she said was Fox’s decision to cancel her appearances during the third day of the Republican National Convention.

She just got a paid month-long vacation from her million-dollar-a-year job, and hasn’t even been seen on the network since mid-December. It’s clear that Fox will survive without her presence. But Palin’s fans?

She has not informed social media about the split. Her last two tweets have to do with an 8th grade basketball player with Down Syndrome, and the army removing Christian religious symbols from a chapel. Facebook? The same thing. The last message to her 3.4 million Facebook followers rebukes the army for responding to letters of concern from a soldier about a military chapel in Afghanistan that displayed a cross on the roof and other prominent symbols of Christianity. Not only could the overtly Christian military building reinforce beliefs about a Muslim vs. Christian war, the chapel was also used by soldiers of all religions desiring a “neutral” space to worship that didn’t have cross-shaped windows and permanent architectural embellishments. In response Palin said:

What are we succumbing to, America? The army orders “the removal of Christian symbols from a chapel.” I wonder what they’ll make of my son and all the other soldiers with their numerous Christian symbols tattooed on their warrior bodies? What say you, politicians, about America’s finest protecting us in these war zones who will NOT be “removing their Steeples, Crosses, Bible Verses, etc.” to adhere to this new nonsensical political correctness?

Well, first of all, Track is no longer serving in the military, so his ink is safe.  But, if those who are there decide to run around exposing their tattooed “warrior bodies” to the locals, I’m sure it’s only a matter of time before the gubmint sends them all to a forced tattoo removal camp to have their whatevers lazered. Because an individual person’s body is the same as a government community building.

Sadly, we will now have one less venue in which to enjoy and admire her smart, insightful take on the world. And to think that Fox’s Roger Ailes actually  mocked her in public, and is said to have privately called her “stupid.”

As you weep for the nation’s loss, you can enjoy her top 9 most ridiculous moments on Fox, HERE. But don’t worry. Like the end of a horror movie, there’s always that possibility that somehow, some way, she’ll be back…

Well, I suppose she’ll have to consider going back to her old job of watching Putin from her front porch.

    And babysitting the grand-kids….. :-}

  2. OMG says:

I trust that other networks are weighing the benefits of having Palin on air to attract the conservative crowd. Take a look at this NBC Today Show report: http://video.today.msnbc.msn.com/today/50613690/#50613690 I’ve no doubt that Palin’s agent is making the rounds as Palin announced that the media needs more “truth tellers” and that the door was wide open for her to jump out of her comfort zone and stop singing to the choir.

Any network that signs this diva will quickly regret that decision and will likely lose viewers. But I really won’t be surprised to see it happen.

    • Dagian says:

I suspect the ones that would most like to have her don’t have enough money available to interest her and if they do scrape it together, their staff will be ill-equipped to handle the diva.

    • Lacy Lady says:

I can’t imagine what network that would be.

Sarah Palin vows to fight on without Fox News gig

Fight what? Whom? You’re irrelevant but you haven’t caught on to that fact, Sarah. Fortunately, almost everyone else has…

    • Dagian says:

Oops! Sorry about the re-post. My computer glitched & it didn’t show up at all on my screen so I thought it didn’t post at all.

Sarah Palin vows to fight on without Fox News gig

Fight what? Whom? You’re irrelevant Sarah and have been long before you realized your true character was known to many.

  5. mike from iowa says:

Queen Esther has gained her rightful and hard won thrown(under the bus that is) Bwaaahaaa!!

  6. laurainnocal says:

Oh, for cryin’ all night! She is pathetic. Are there any bridges left for her to burn?

  7. zyggy says:

the only good thing about Palin is that we found you AKM. I guess Palin will have to use FB as her platform, no one else seems to want her around.

  8. Mo says:

On the bright side, let’s all contemplate $arak “Bullseye” Palin’s rage about no longer being the GOP good ol’ boys’ sexiest little girlfriend ever, having been thrown over for the likes of Paul Ryan and Bobby Jindal – probably because the GOP has a wide stance, if they’d only admit it.

They made her dress up and crawl, now she’s on the curb.

  9. Mo says:

Why Palinbots are Republicans, even if they haven’t registered as such [Alaska is stuffed with Republicans who incorrectly imagine that they’re Independents who analyze the issues, but they really just listen to Limbaugh and Fox}:

    http://krugman.blogs.nytimes.com/2013/01/27/from-welfare-queens-to-disabled-deadbeats/

The point, I think, is that right-wing intellectuals and politicians live in a bubble in which denunciations of those bums on disability and those greedy children getting free health care are greeted with shouts of approval — but now have to deal with a country where the same remarks come across as greedy and heartless (because they are).

And their mindless minions are the goons who shout, “Let him die!” during health care debates.

Like I keep saying, it’s immoral to be a Republican, and if you are, you’re no better than Sarah Palin.

  10. akbatgirly says:

It’s about time! What’s next? I predict a lucrative televangelism career. She’s already got the studio, and a Best Western three doors down for her followers to come give homage. Seriously, it would be a perfect fit.

  11. benlomond says:

Ding,Dong. the B*tch is dead, the wicked B*tch , the B*tch is dead, Ding Dong ……

  12. Lacy Lady says:

She looks like she is on her last leg. I don’t see her getting a job anywhere soon.

  13. Mo says:

Just remember, she was voted into office by our Republican friends and neighbors, presumably the same folks who’ve handed us a Republican state legislature now.

    Alaska: Arkansas North.

And are any of our leggers jumping to ALEC’s cat dancer toy? Ya think?

The current Republican assault on the democratic process began during the 2010 midterm elections when dark money groups helped Republicans pick up 675 legislative seats and gain complete control of 12 state legislatures

    • Beaglemom says:

It fascinates me that the mainstream media (for example, the New York Times, the Washington Post, CBS, NBC, ABC, PBS) has done absolutely nothing to alert the public about the dangers of ALEC or the Koch Brothers or, for that matter, Grover Norquist and the power they hold over legislators in states and in Washington. Republicans in state legislatures and in Washington have been zombie-ized by their masters and we are the victims. The goal of ALEC, the Koch Brothers, Grover Norquist is nothing short of a fascist state. Has the media been zombie-ized as well?

  14. LA Brian says:

To paraphrase Paula Zahn “Awww – we’re not gonna miss you bunches.”

  15. bubbles says:

poor little Buttercup. how could those mean, miserable Fox people do that to our hero? just look at the poor woman. now i got to go protest this injustice. i am devastated and destroyed. of course we could support her in a run for something or perhaps her old friend and admirer will appoint her as US ambassador to North Korea. you never know……^_^

  16. fishingmamma says:

I’m really going to miss her….

(trying so hard to keep a straight face)

  17. mike from iowa says:

The only world left for her to conquer is outer space. There is a comet coming November next and she could conceivably latch on to its glittering tail of diamond dust and proceed to bore the shit out of the rest of the Universe. Tailor made for the chosen one. She is so special she won’t need a space suit. Buh-bye Snookie. Us unrill “Mericans can gaze at your heavenly body just as you desired. Hope your makeup stays dry.

    • Beaglemom says:

Oh, let’s not destroy the night sky by putting Sarah Palin in it. She would ruin it.

    • Zyxomma says:

Mikey, have you perhaps seen the sci-fi comedy, Iron Sky? Its premise is that what remained of the Nazis left earth in 1945, and took up residence on the dark side of the moon, where they’re now preparing for an invasion from earth.

The U.S. president (a total ditz) is clearly based on Lou Sarah.

AKM, you had me at Lake Lu-sill. Just as Julianne Moore in Game Change had me at “Here’s the dill.”

  18. I See Villages From My House says:

Don’t you get it folks? The woman can’t do no wrong, every move is a brilliant tactical move with the cunning of a rill Arctic Fox.

The Fox Establishment shackled her, much the way John McCain’s Presidential campaign did and her politically correct Gubernatorial responsibilities also too. Poor Sarah, for such an incredibly shrinking woman (living vibrantly burns a lot of calories) she sure quickly outgrows her revolving door opening confines.

Even though her VP candidate successor speaks a lot more impressive form of Word Salad, she has branded a mainstream common man logic, albeit lacking the endearing qualities earned by the likes of Yogi Berra. There may be some value in having a useful idiot articulate this fringe mind hive.

Nevertheless, I don’t see how she can possibly “broaden her message and expand her voice in the national discussion” without the more visible or influential platform of Fox. The Blaze has no exponential potential. . .700 Club? Prevo can go National?

This time, the world literally isn’t her oyster.

    • UgaVic says:

I had to laugh when one headlight said “Sarah Palin makes a bold move”…..I read the article and am still totally at loss on what is ‘bold’ about her getting cut loose UNLESS I drank the coolaid and think she now can speak ‘freely’!!

    • Jeanne Devon says:

Thank you for reminding me of the classic Meg Stapleton line, “the world is literally her oyster.” That just made me happy. 🙂

  19. That was the best news I heard yesterday. I haven’t been listening to her for quite a while, once everyone but Fox stopped trying to talk to her, but it’s nice to know we won’t even have the Fox footage to endure anymore. Wonder what she’ll do now. She’s had a taste of the limelight and I can’t imagine she will give it up without a fight.

  20. WakeUpAmerica says:

You absolutely crack me up, Jeanne!

  21. Now, maybe you’ll have some time to focus on your OWN family, for a while……don’t you think….??

  22. John says:

Christians wouldn’t tattoo Christian symbols on their bodies. Leviticus 19:28.

  23. jimzmum says:

Ooh. I was almost sad, but now I’m not. Rill Meruhcuns prolly are tho.

  24. JoAnn Blake says:

My impression was FOX gave her a low offer to get rid of her, but still let her brag that she turned down an offer. Then maybe she wouldn’t bad mouth the network too much.
I’ll be glad when she goes away from the public view entirely. Can’t think of a more annoying person.

  25. Alaska Pi says:

    oh. shucky durn.
    no more fake mountain backdrops?
no shrieking in the wind nor fireside chats?
    however will we get through?

(whatzername ‘ll pop back up with some kind of horsepunky way of trying to get attention though. she’s like herpes really…)
