Superbowl Sunday!

super-bowl

I know. You’ve probably hardly even gotten over your Marmot Day celebration, and now it’s Superbowl Sunday! I don’t’ know who plans these things, but this year it’s back-to-back revels.

So, what say you, Mudflatters?

San Francisco, or Baltimore?

Left Coast, or Right Coast?

Harbaugh, or Harbaugh?

Pizza or Nachos?

Chips or popcorn?

Beer or wine?

We want to know.

The day after the big game and now is the time to find and chastise the three people on every website that unfriended me. Anyone know who they are. I’ll pay a handsome reward of twenty cents for each name . Thanks in advance,no marmots please.

I just came across this Tweet of the Superbowl:

    Dave Brown
    @daveartmv
“If it’s a legitimate blowout, stadiums have a way of shutting that whole thing down.”

Congratulations go out to J Harbaugh,J Harbaugh,J Harbaugh and J Harbaugh for a well played game. Great effort on all sides. I posted this with 11 seconds left so I don’t know who won.

Although I would be happy if my hometown team wins, it would also be interesting if we lost (fair and square) then we could find out how many MUNI buses the “fans” loot and burn in the streets compared to when we won the World Series. (MUNI is substituting diesel buses for all streetcars, cable cars, and trolley bus lines so they stand a chance of getting away or detouring around bonfires, idjits, etc.

i am watching all alone at home in spenard. who wants to come over?
think i will root for the 9ners since the ravens are my teams division rival, but i could be persuaded to switch.
    anybody is welcome.

    1) Doesn’t matter to me, hoping for a good match.

    2) Aren’t they both Somewhere South of Seward?

    3) The one that starts with the letter H.

    4) Both. Duh.

    5 Both. Double duh.

    6) Both. Triple duh.

    Too bad it’s not rugby.

    My money is on Harbaugh.

  12. InJuneau says:

Niners/Left Coast all the way. Pizza if we stay home; clam chowder if we go to The ‘Bow. Prob. a beer wherever we end up watching.

While I heartily approve of having a party on a February afternoon, my enthusiasm for football has hit zero. Just like it always was for boxing and became for wrestling (remember Gorgious George?) Hockey is a great game, but it also seems to be about injuring other players these days. With increasing evidence of permanent and irreversible brain damage to football players, I will not be supporting the players, coaches, or advertisers on the TV machine by watching the game.

Deniers of the seriousness of brain damage resulting from repeated head trauma, whatever the sport, remind me a lot of climate change deniers.

You’ll never take me alive, copper. Gotta go with the Ravens. They have two former iowa Hawkeyes playing for them. All-Pro right guard Marshall Yanda is an iowa kid from somewhere in iowa-just like me only much younger.and better looking. I’m way beyond tired of Ray Lewis.
