I Agree with Sean Parnell, well… kinda.

Parnell-Awkward

It looks like our dear Governor’s social media director has taken the night off and let the Captain Zero himself take a swing at 140 characters.

Jeanne and I hit upon this on while subbing for Shannyn Moore Monday Night (listen to the podcast). After a 3 day hiatus on twitter Parnell slammed out three tweets in one day.

Woah slow down there bucko – you might break the internet. But ok – let’s look at what he said.

The first – I actually agree with (I know, I almost fell out of my chair too)…

Especially in Alaska this is a really big issue – one of the only states that actually has the right to privacy written into it’s constitution. Now the question is – if Mitt Romney was President would this tweet have ever happened. Honestly – I don’t care… good on him for giving a damn. Everyone should be reading the Guardian.

Aaaaaaannnnddd… that’s the end of our agreement. A couple hours later he decided to weigh in on the Obama DOJ’s dropping their bid to limit Plan B sales.

Yes, it’s just plain wrong that women, even younger ones don’t have to get pregnant. Sean, this will actually limit the number of abortions that happen in Alaska and around the country – don’t you see this is a victory? Clearly he doesn’t – but he also seems to think that Plan B pills will be handed out like scantron tests in schools… so he’s probably not the best judge of reality.

So I think todays tweets – all three – work out to be a negative. The first, while positive, is likely because it’s Obama, and then the other two… well… they might as well be sponsored by the Alaska Family Council… or the COMPLETELY DIFFERENT GROUP, Alaska Family Action.

Marilyn Manson – Beautiful People…you can’t see the forest thru the trees and can’t smell your own shat on your knees…fits Sean and Crew perfectly…you live with apes man it’s hard to be clean…

Methinks Capt Zero never seen or felt “girl power”.

The guy would be better off promoting a line of chasity belts.
I can see him now… “Key action or combination lock, your choice, all come with my favorite bible scripture…”

Chastity belts wouldn’t force women to suffer enough to satisfy Cap’t Zero or his god. It would have to be at least an “iron maiden” to keep the helpless little lady chaste. For the men like Parnell, may I suggest a rectal probe with a cattle prod to determine if sufficient oxygen makes its way to his brain? Invasive-yes. Does it rilly measure oxygen levels?-hell no,but who cares?!!!

Marry me, Mike. Oh, lost control there for a second. Rational thoughts make me do that swooning thing.

I can’t “agree” with Sean Parnell; I disagreed with the usa-patriot act when it passed without having first been READ by the people who voted for it. As a dearly departed friend pointed out to me nine years ago, it was a brilliant move messing with the alphabet to name it patriot; that meant that if one voted against it (like the also dearly departed Paul Wellstone), one was automatically unpatriotic. Sean disagrees only because it’s Obama.

Congressman Alan Grayson has introduced a ‘mind your own business’ bill in the House, and you can sign on as a citizen co-sponsor:

A bipartisan group of eight Senators, led by Jeff Merkley and including Alaska’s Begich, are also trying to shed some light into the dark corners of the (un)patriot(ic) act:

Thanks for the Guardian link, Zach. NYC misses you.

And this is after former Palin Aide and Parnell Aide Bill McAllister is charged with using an electronic device to make someone fear their life? So he resigns from KTVA…wonder what he was snooping for Sarah and Sean?

    • Anon says:

I heard Sean got invited with national media reps are going to be there as well…interesting you just yesterday Sean signed a bill to punish those in the sex trafficking industry…tired of covering up for the former first dude hu? I imagine the crowds at the June 24th hearing in Anchorage courts…and the questions…who did you monitor while under the Palin administration, who did you monitor for the Parnell administration…Sean was invited but will not attend…

    • Anon says:

Well with Fox News putting Sarah back on as a commentator I would be curious to get her take on this…

      • You can't fix stupid... says:

with her latest word salad I would estimate she is off her meds again…rambling…incoherent…

Anybody that was aware of the patriot act and did nothing stop it has no right to be surprised that they no longer have their freedom.
The President wants us to trust the executive and legislative branch’s of government, REALLY? a man and a gov that send up robot killing machines and murders anybody they deem a threat to themselves, er i mean America, no proof, no trial, no oversight.
NOT long before political dissenters start to be disappeared.
Americans are laboring under the false belief that they still have constitutional guaranties, Post patriot act and NDAA The constitution and the bill of rights are not worth the parchment they are printed on, the tools are in place for any body to come to power and start cleansing those that would oppose them. ( it has has already begun )
America, no freedom but a lot of guns, fat lot of good that is doing us.

  6. mike from iowa says:

And………while we are at it,nutters will be screaming that girls can get the morning after pill without doctor or parental consent and at the same time they work to make sure women can’t get abortions, even with doctor and/or parental consent. No wonder they are confused, bitter little pissants!

    • Alaska Pi says:

      Amen!!!

    • fishingmamma says:

Can’t get abortions and can’t get birth control. Because girls are not allowed to ‘do that’. But boys are allowed to ‘sow their wild oats’. So girls that end up in an ‘unfortunate situation’ deserve what they get. Mothers are sacred in this country until you add the word ‘single’ in front of it.

  7. mike from iowa says:

Parnell’s girls weren’t allowed guns at school, either. Bet that rilly rankles his ass. Alaskans need a public conversation with the feds over rwnj election irregularities.

  8. John says:

Unfortunately, young women will still not be able to obtain the morning after pill at most schools. Schools are a great place to dispense basic health care, including health care centered on reproductive issues. But a minority of loud people think if you mention the word sex within 20 feet of a teenager, they will immediately start copulating in the hallway (as if they don’t hear and see sexual images all the time on corporate media). So most schools are not allowed to provide any sort of health care clinic, and those that do are often prohibited from doing anything related to reproductive health.

If Parnell truely opposed abortion, he would support Plan B, and support health clinics in schools, and would support teaching young teenagers (male and female) about all forms of birth control. Do this in schools, where they are easy to reach, and at an age where they are motivated to learn. We could easily cut this nation’s abortion rate in half if the conservatives really wanted to do that. But then, they would lose this great political fundraising tool. So I guess it isn’t going to happen.

    • fishingmamma says:

It’s OK to push sex into the face of any teenager as long as you are trying to sell anything that can be bought at the mall, but add responsibility to the word sex, and it becomes sex education and is prohibited.

  9. Alaska Pi says:

Well Zach- I don’t agree with Cap’n Torpedo’s sophistic take on privacy. Bemoaning the morning after pill in the next breath puts paid to any notion he’s talking about an essential and robust notion of privacy. At least for “girls”.
As a “girl” I’m pretty damn tired of not being extended the courtesy of full adulthood by “boys” like the gov. I’m also pretty offended he appears to be playing the OMG-eight-year-olds-will-be-able-to-get-it! game .
Mr Parnell can take his patriarchal horsepunky and shove it.
As a “girl” on the outer rim of middle age , listening to the last couple years of righty crap about women, I’m figuring I’m gonna die before this stoopid set of attitudes about women, sex, personal privacy and agency, and the like gets trounced. Bleah.

      Amen and amen! beth.

    • Zach Roberts says:

Well, come now, you wommin folk can’t be trusted with your own bodies… Dear lord, can’t imagine what you’d all do with that sort of freedom.
