The on-going process with the Reapportionment Commission (?) needs to be closely monitored. AK Senate GOP must be aggressively lobbied and shamed, if necessary. (I do not approve of shaming as a tactic, but its use to stop this legislation, or any other designed to deny Alaskans’ rights seems worthy of consideration. ) And the Legislative docket is full. The GOP stole our money this year, next year they are hell bent to further decimate education funding, health services, women’s rights and human rights. n

“the laws in Louisianna are not strong enough to protect citizens from industry”

ADN reports today that the Parnell adminisration is continuing it’s fight to disallow citizen voices to be heard dring the permitting process and to limit citizne rights to natural resources. This time, it is the issue at Chuitna. The Chuitna Citizen’s coalition was in court last week asking for assistance in getting DNR to grant it’s water rights application. Parnell and his team plan to push it anew, Fogels said. PacRim supported the bill, Lucas said.”Rumor has it by the end of this legislative session, you are not even going to have the right to ask,” Rindner said in court to Brown, the trustees lawyer. “Should I be deciding constitutional issues or should I wait and see whether we still got a statute?”

We should look at these film clips of Louisianna and be mindfull of what our governor is doing to our rights.
