Transcanada and the AGs of 6 states (Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota and Montana) are suing the Fed for 15 billion dollars claiming Obama’s denial of the KXL pipeline violates congress’ ability to regulate interstate and international trade-as outlined by NAFTA.
Since the pipeline crosses federal borders the State Department is duly authorized to approve or disapprove the pipeline. Texas guv-Greg A-BUTT, former Texas AG bragged about suing the fed every day as soon as he got up. Wasn’t good at it and cost Texas millions in misspent bucks, but it burnished his wingnut bonafides and got him into the guv’s office. South Dakota’s AG-Marty Jackoffsley is trying that same route. He will run for guv in 2 years and leads off some of his press conferences with a christian prayer to burnish his right wing bonafides. What a freaking bunch of fauxknee christian rightwing nut jobs.
