    SARINA wILLIAMS!

  2. ColoradoGuy says:

Thanks for the pic of the second place winner. How about a pic of the winner?

  3. jojobo1 says:

If she keeps he money from people for her supposed legal problems doesn’t she have to claim it as income.I think she saw a recall coming and if it is true that the FBI are investigating her and Todd sure hope they keep it going until the Lt Governor is out of office3 so she doesn’t get a pardon.Isn’t Poe a republican? and he has put his hat in the ring. I just hope people start to realize just what she is a liar and a fraud who misrepresents most everything,Along with being an Attack dog.And she complains about bad press if she had not attacked everyone she might have been better received

  4. PepperzMom (GA) says:

Sorry that Flyinyreye’s excellent cover is somewhat ignored this day, due to the political “I QUIT” hogging the news.

    Good job…

Guess we’ll see #1’s cover soon?

  5. mlaiuppa says:

I will say I’ve had delusions of being Dictator of the Universe for Life but I’ve never acted on them.

However, should you ever see my name on a ballot, I would appreciate your vote.

Perhaps now that Jon and Kate are divorcing, she and Todd have received a lucrative offer they can’t refuse? “Todd and Sarah plus 5 or 6 or 7 maybe, also too”.

  6. Team Alaska says:

She is going for the money NOW! She is going to ride the Ice berg into the bank asap. She wants to go shopping again on someones elses account. She can now accept money with no worries about being the GOV of Alaska.

She is to big for Alaska in her mind. She wants to be queen of the planet, lord of the meek, sheep, and week.

    Go GINO NO MORE!!!

  7. MinNJ says:

The next post is not available right now: will see s/b in my last comment.

bubbles: so good to see you.

This is just too much fun. And I love UK Lady’s dry humor; gino leaving is great news, but what she’s going to might be less of a laugh. Who knows?

  8. MinNJ says:

    UK lady
The iceberg is nothing that WE can see, but she’s abandoned ship. I believe that the water will clear up soon, and we can see the it for ourselves. And what a treat that will be!!!

  9. MinNJ says:

She may have quit, but I believe that the fun in just beginning.

  10. Azmomma-former Alaskan says:

WOW! THE b@*&h QUIT! What will we do for fun now?

  11. bubbles says:

yes samper i am registered. you are in detroit? got family there.

  12. Say NO to Palin in Politics says:

I’m wondering did anyone ask any of the other 13 black leaders if Scarah had said this? this article just says that Stapletongue and staff denied it. this was racially charged and because Barack is black I don’t think they wanted to “use” this information. The McCain Campaign took care of this for her, but it sounds like something she would say when pressed for action, don’t you think?

Was Scarah ever asked if she said this? and what about those 13 other people.

    http://news.newamericamedia.org/news/view_article.html?article_id=40916428d4942bf6e6d647cbdf31e908&from=rss

“On April 29, 2008, 14 black leaders in Alaska, including prominent ministers, NAACP officials, and community activists, met with Palin to voice their complaint over minority hiring and job opportunities. During the meeting she allegedly said that she didn’t have to hire any blacks. Even more damning, she purportedly said that she didn’t intend to hire any.

Gwen Alexander, president of the African-American Historical Society of Alaska, initially reported Palin’s quip.”

  13. samper says:

I keep getting errors on the announcement thread…

bubbles, are you registered on forum?

We have Motown Records Museum here in Detroit… the J5’s first studio… same thing. Crowds just celebrating.

They are announcing no run for 2nd term… still she’s late!

  14. bubbles says:

    uklady“`ruh roh. jeepers!

  15. bubbles says:

samper you have to find me. i can’t figure out how to pm you. also too nothing else IS going on this weekend except m.j. i went to 125 street with my daughter on tuesday. samper the line stretched from the apollo down to 7ave all the way to 135 street. it was a beautiful thing to see. not one argument. not one evil word spoken. old people and young ones dancing and smiling. happy to be together and being respectful to him and to each other. there was a lot of love and tenderness going on.it was not possible for everyone to go into the theatre but just being on the street was tribute enough….b

  16. jc in co says:

ok, 3 minutes to go, talked to my client, meeting him at the UPS Store at 1:40,
if I drive like a bat out of h*ll it’ll only take me 12 minutes to get there, there’s time unless she’s like Hillary and an hour late…..

  17. yardwork says:

samper your play by play is cracking me up. you are priceless 🙂

  18. UK Lady says:

    honestyinGov

I think you are going to have to turn on Faux. At least you can get others though, I only get CNN or Faux here.

  19. samper says:

JC: Just make it fast… I’ll try to transcribe it by rewinding the DVR and will post it here. I’m sure you will be up to speed quickly.

2:47EDT… MSNBC shows no signs of breaking away for the announcement. MJ is far too important.

Remote is in a shaky hand… moving to Faux News to catch it. Bleccchchh!

  20. antiAnti says:

  21. Gramiam says:

Maybe GINO got wind of a Recall and is getting the heck out of Dodge!!

  22. sauerkraut says:

Isn’t there a baseball game on at 3 pm eastern? Or NASCAR? Reminds me… Tony Stewart is probably in better shape than Sarah Palin. Don’t think I’ve heard him complain about throbbing thighs or something to that affect. Maybe her thighs are throbbing because she’s got a Sanford problem? Just askin’ 😎

  23. UK Lady says:

You should worry, I think UKman is planning a family intervention.

Okay who has an honest guess as to what she is going to announce?

She is planning on running for Gov again.
She is planning on running for Pres. in 2012
She is not planning on running for Gov again
She is not planning on running for Pres in 2012

    She is pregnant
She and Todd are getting divorced
She is resigning from office of Gov effective immediately

Fox just announced that Palin will announce something about her future as gov.
    —————————————-
Uugghh….. are you telling me I am going to have to tune in to Faux just to hear what she says..?
I’ll change the channel quickly afterward.

  26. samper says:

Of course, I don’t have wild thoughts of running the USA, either!

  27. samper says:

Maybe she’s quitting govship so she can go to a real school to get a real degree that actually has something to do with running this country?

NO offense to Journalism Degree holders… but you need a little more than that to run a country. 🙂 Truth be told, Journalism was my first major… ended up with an MBA. Go figure!

  28. jc in co says:

that makes sense samper, d*mnit I have to go to the UPS store & pick up a print proof at 1:00 & wait for my client to sign it, I’m sure they won’t be broadcasting it on “The Ed Show” on the progressive radio station. Drat.
I’ll be the last to know of everyone here & if I ask my 16 yo to watch this blog & call me she’ll tell her dad that I’ve finally gone completly nuts…..

  29. leenie17 says:

The truth is coming out so fast and furious and from so many different directions that GINO and her cohorts must be dizzy trying to put out the flames. We can only hope that, since the long-awaited ‘iceberg’ appears to be still floating somewhere at sea, perhaps this multitude of smaller hits might cause an implosion that will take her out of politics for good.

Her supporters are becoming more frantic in their defense of their hero but STILL cannot provide much more than “She’s spunky and I like her”. Well, if you’re so fond of her spunk, feel free to take her to lunch or invite her to join your book club, but don’t impose this incompetent fright show on the rest of us!

  30. samper says:

JC: You make me giggle! 🙂 Her own party will tear her up if she attempts a run at the WH.

A less qualified person, there never was. My two kitties have a better handle on the issues than she does (they watch MSNBC all day long, so they have a pretty well rounded education). Mariah/Samper in 2016! Don’t want to take President Obama’s thunder away.

UK LADY: I notice that while her supporters go on terrific tirades against the author, they don’t back a single thing up as far as her qualifications. They just rant and rave without substance. Ridiculous.

Also, too: Can the most powerful country be run by a woman who’s only passion is abortion?

  31. UK Lady says:

Or maybe the iceberg is closing in and she is geting out of the water.

  32. yardwork says:

If she resigned that would be some pretty mean cold turkey to deal with. I’d have to start following Bachman, wouldn’t be the same tho…

  33. UK Lady says:

    jc in co

If only. Much more likely that the deluded dingbat is gunning for 2012 and knows from internal polling that the AK gov race would be a loss or near loss.

The only hope that she is quitting politics is if Todd and the rest of the family have been screaming at her to stop.

  34. samper says:

JC: That was just my understanding from above… that it was OK’d to be petitioned to be on the ballot and SP would be the “first” to sign in support.

IOW: MY understanding is that X amount of people have to sign a petition. THEN it gets on the ballot. THEN it’s voted on. THEN it is dumped as a horrific idea, limiting the choices of those in difficult situations.

  35. jc in co says:

Oh, I hope you’re right samper, that would destroy any aspirations to run for
president too. If she couldn’t take the pressure now she’d fold like a cheap suit in the primaries….

  36. samper says:

I have MSNBC on right now. It’s wall to wall MJ, as if there is NOTHING else going on in this country over the Fourth of July weekend!

Dare I tune to FOX? Is there anywhere else we can go to catch the announcement?

WOULDN’T IT BE COOL IF SHE’S IMMEDIATELY RESIGNING BECAUSE THE PRESSURE OF THE LIBERAL MEDIA IS JUST TOO MUCH FOR HER “FAMILY” TO TAKE????????????

  37. jc in co says:

omg, UK lady maybe she’s going to resign…she finally cracked like a nut!

  38. jc in co says:

adn had an article today that wooley was let go because of a difference
of policy with the guv, speculation would say that it was that wooley
didn’t agree with her policy regarding parental notification. I don’t know,
I was just being snarky in my comment about sister sarah being an AK hero.
I’m sure sampers right & it will be voted on….

  39. samper says:

Bella: Yes, I knew she was a lying liar telling lies. It all came out that she WANTED that crap all over her face when Daddy started threatening whatever. It was a horrific site, though, eh? Good analogy to Palin… I was just thinking of Poor Levi’s tatoo, not Palin, but you brought it all full circle very well.

Bubbles: If we can raise $5K for CD, we can certainly bail out austintx! I want to PM you… are you on the forum? You can PM me @ samper.

  40. UK Lady says:

Fox just announced that Palin will announce something about her future as gov.

  41. SystemBucker says:

Where do I tune in on the internet that is? Is there a way to catch a live stream? Just wondering.

  42. honestyinGov says:

    About this new announcement…?
snoskred has said to not visit the Echo Chamber because it gives them more money and somebody usually hears what they say anyway but I stay away.

As far as to what GINO is about to announce… Meg and SarahPac must know what is is. What happens if this ‘ announcement news ‘ show up over there… before it is announced. Timewise….How were they able to get it…..
Evidence of someone passing some notes.

  43. SystemBucker says:

I just read that Palin’s big announcement is going to be at 11:00 AK time, 3:00 Eastern time. So does that mean it will be live on the news? Where do I tune in????

    31 minutes to go!

  44. UK Lady says:

    Speculation from wag at Politico

Maybe she’ll announce that Bristol is the mother of Michael Jackson’s kids and that she and Todd are seeking custody.

    She’s changing party?

  45. Far fromFenway Fan says:

    From C4P:

John Gibson alerted his listeners that Governor Palin would be making an announcement today at 3:00 PM EST from her home in Wasilla.

    George Stephanopoulos tweeted this:

Palin announcement this afternoon? Not running for reelection??

  48. BooBooBear says:

Seriously? She is going to rag on Beverly, who she “fired”? Well, just a day or so ago Sharon Leighow, denied any Palin involvement in Beverly Wooley “resigning”…she said Palin did not fire her. More spin-spin-spin. Doesn’t she realize all these previous statements are out there to be retrieved? Her inner circle must just hate working for her. The neverending lies………..

  49. yardwork says:

Great find UK Lady. Wow. With followers like that, Palin doesn’t need any
enemies. Maybe her base will finally become her undoing.

  50. Ripley in CT says:

LOL @ Wolfpack…I entertained the exact same thought!!!

  51. Wolf Pack says:

Photoshop that and show her flipping the bird!

  52. Lainey says:

  53. Bella the Bunny Girl says:

    quote:
Did anyone see the story of the 18YO girl who got a million star tats on her face and her dad went ballistic? The story was that she was only getting one and “fell asleep” while having it done and the artist went nuts on her face. Her dad wants to sue, blah blah blah, but she’s 18 so there isn’t much they can do. Plus, I would find it very difficult to sleep while someone is permanently engraving and dying the flesh on my face.
    ======================

But unlike Sarah Palin, the girl had to come out a week later and admit she’s a lying liar who lied and the tattoo artist had done exactly what she asked him to in the first place. She only told the falling asleep story when her father went ballistic.

As for the health dept employees – if Dept of Law is telling someone not to comment publicly, that could mean there may be a wrongful termination lawsuit in the future.

  54. samper says:

jc: seriously? I thought it was going up for a vote of the people. Certainly, one person in the administration doesn’t hold that much power over the vote of the people????

  55. UK Lady says:

Fasten your seatbelts, folks… we’re in for a bumpy ride.

Speaking of Bristol: Does being the Candie’s spokesperson for abstinence only involve one lousy appearance on the Today Show or is this an on going gig? Haven’t heard a PEEP about abstinence since her “roll out”.

  58. jc in co says:

just read her tweet, she’s going to rag on the lady she fired and tell everyone how their 12 year olds could go get an abortion without parental notification if she hadn’t been an Alaskan hero & fired her….

Palin’s 2012 Plans Leaves McCain Campaign “Speechless”
By Nicole Belle Wednesday Oct 29, 2008 4:15pm

“It looks like someone is just putting in the motions this week, biding her time for her next chance in the spotlight. I’m sure the McCain campaign appreciates the hell out of this.

BLITZER: And this just coming into the “Situation Room,” the Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin now speaking out openly about her intentions in 2012 if, if she and John McCain were to lose this contest next Tuesday. In an interview with ABC News, Sarah Palin is now saying, she would be interested in remaining a serious national political figure, going ahead to 2012. She was asked what happens in 2012 if you lose on Tuesday, would you simply go back to Alaska? Elizabeth Vargas of ABC News asked her and Palin said this, and I will read it to you verbatim according to an ABC News transcript: “Absolutely not,” Sarah Palin says. “I think that, if I were to give up and wave a white flag of surrender against some of the political shots that we’ve taken, that … that would … bring this whole … I’m not doin’ this for naught,” and that is a direct quote from Sarah Palin. Clearly, leaving open the possibility that she would be interested in leading the Republican Party in 2012 if she and John McCain were to lose this presidential contest right now. Let’s go to Dana Bash. She has been covering the McCain campaign reaction from the rather blunt statement from Sarah Palin that she would in fact be interested in leading the Republican Party going forward after Tuesday if they lose?”

  62. The Rubber Room Hotel says:

  63. jc in co says:

If she’s smart she’ll announce that she’s dropping out of politics and taking a job at Faux & Friends, but she’s not smart, so we’ll see. She’s probably filing a suit against VF or wonkette or something equally ridiculous.

  64. mae lewis says:

@HonestyinGov: Bristol is double-iconic. She is both a Palin offspring, and she gave birth to at least one (maybe two) truly iconic-icons, the Babies! I love your suggest of Bristol’s new job; it will give her the experience that she will need for nursing school. (That is the latest plan, isn’t it?) And, when Sarah runs out of former high school friends to appoint, she can always appoint some of Bristol’s high school friends.

RE: The GOP infighting about Gov. Icon……One thing that stays in my mind is the GOP really went out on a limb by nominating A WOMAN for VP. They are way behind the Democratic Party in equal representation. I just don’t see that party being behind a woman for President this soon. (maybe in 20 years…)

I think they are trying to find a way to have her “involved” but are not sure how. And then there is the Gov. – I doubt she will settle for anything less than the top job now that she’s tasted the power. Remember the “base” is just a % of a %. No way they can win an election with those #’s, no matter how loud and belligerent they are.

I expect that if you look deeper than the Wasilla Warriors connection, you’ll likely find a Prayer Warriors connection – as you would with Bush’s appointees. It’s textbook 7 Mountains (Dominionist) Theology. There are still 150 graduates of Pat Robertson’s law school (vis a vis Monica Goodling) embedded in the US Justice Department, and evangelical ties to most of his appointments. Think back to the Muthee (Sarah’s favorite witch hunter) tape and the “infiltrating” comments – you can consider it good news if it’s only a Wasilla High connection, and incompetence the only consequence.

This group will give you some insight into the infiltration of the evangelicals into the US Military under Bush.

The comments seem to be from lots of names you don’t normally see as the regulars. They all have a comment and it’s about 95% against GINO.
I asked ADN weeks ago why I can’t post anymore… no reply. Was I bad..?

My comment was going to be ..maybe Bristol will get the New job as health Director. She is looking for work. And is forced to agree with her Mother on all Health issues.
Gryphen (or someone else ) could do some photo shop work with an accompanying story as the new Health Director nominee, Bristol.
Put her in one of those nice white ‘ Nurse outfits ‘…and the hat with the red cross on it. More photo shop… please..?
Bristol is not ‘ Iconic ‘ is she…?

Say it ain’t so, SayNo! Dumping in lakes, streams, etc. WITHOUT strict guidelines? Makes me sick and I’m jumping over there to sign.

In MI, we are REALLY lucky to have beautiful lakes – not just the Great ones, but hundreds of really pristine inland lakes as well. It would kill me if they all started getting dumped in without pollution controls.

Fun fact: MI has more miles of coastline than any state in the Union! 🙂 Working hard to keep those miles clean for all to enjoy!!

Also, ask them to initiate a process to undo a 2002 rule that redefined industrial waste as “fill,” and paved the way for this “fill” to be dumped into our waters.

Two guys are actually having a discussion as to which Foreign Natl. by John Batchelor

    http://www.thedailybeast.com/blogs-and-stories/2009-07-03/how-vanity-fairs-palin-profile-helps-her/2/

“[The Vanity Fair article is] a political biography that is compelling in its improbability and breathtaking in its portrait of a young, deceitful, driven, unapologetic, spontaneous, and cunning scalawag. Purdum’s notion of a sober put-down is to quote the wooden fossil of a cigar store Indian, Governor Walter S. Hickel, who complains that after he helped Palin get elected governor, “She never called me after that.” The stories about Palin and her rambunctious daughters, her riveting special needs child, her cheerful parents, her innate affection for the strangeness of Alaska, and her magical romance with her rock-star attractive husband Todd are all a setup to learning that in the governor’s office she is Elmer Gantry in a skirt, as clannish, vengeful, petty, tireless, ill-read, pouty and manipulative as anyone Hollywood could dream up and play Mildred Pierce. The darkest revelations about Palin are that she didn’t like preparing for the tedious TV interviews; she treated the dull Biden debate as irrelevant; and she wanted to make her own concession speech on election night. In sum, the governor does not like losers, does not like to lose, and was liberated the moment she shed the burden of bootless John McCain.”

Palin won’t/can’t comment because she lacks the ability to speak without a script. That the termination is a “personnel matter” is a convenient excuse for this bumpkin who’s masquerading as our governor to avoid another Couric-like embarrassing interview. If she’s being fired for not “aligning with Scarah’s policies”, isn’t that “performance” on the part of the employee?

Thank goodness someone spoke up on those “darn progressive blogs” or this may not have come out. I’m glad she didn’t resign! Someone buy her a drink, cheers to you Beverly, the next Gov will bring you back on board. Scarah’s a d*mn fool.

And additional fall out? the not so smart gov drove an important brilliant Dr. from the state, he’d rather leave than bend over for her. Again, she’s hurting the state of AK for her national political gain.

(from the ADN, Lisa Demer article, link posted above)

“Hogan asked Wooley to resign on June 1, saying she wasn’t aligned with the governor on policy questions and also that the department was trying to operate more efficiently by combining her job with Butler’s. He told her it wasn’t performance-based, she said. She refused to resign and was dismissed.

“Butler was offered Wooley’s job, along with his own, but instead chose to return to the CDC for a few months as the flu vaccine is developed. He had been on loan to the state.

Wooley said her office did get direct criticism from the governor’s office regarding the wording of a press release on teen pregnancy. The governor didn’t like a quote from one of Wooley’s staff so the quote was removed.

Wooley said she never had a policy discussion with Palin on any health topic, and they never met one-on-one.”

Miss Demeanor – I think you might enjoy this article …

On the night of the RNC last September, Rolling Stone’s Matt Taibbi wrote an article about the candidacy of Sarah Palin. I was nearly awestruck by his remarkable insights which I wasn’t hearing articulated by others yet, but which seemed me to be right on the mark. I still think he was.

    Mad Dog Palin

Sarah Palin is a symbol of everything that is wrong with the modern United States. As a representative of our political system, she’s a new low in reptilian villainy, the ultimate cynical masterwork of puppeteers like Karl Rove. But more than that, she is a horrifying symbol of how little we ask for in return for the total surrender of our political power. Not only is Sarah Palin a fraud, she’s the tawdriest, most half-assed fraud imaginable, 20 floors below the lowest common denominator, a character too dumb even for daytime TV — and this country is going to eat her up, cheering her every step of the way. All because most Americans no longer have the energy to do anything but lie back and allow ourselves to be jacked off by the calculating thieves who run this grasping consumer paradise we call a nation.

As far as having “it” goes… Ummm…. I don’t give a crap what her “family values” are, what her stand on abortion is (because it will NEVER be overturned, anyway!), or what freak of a pastor she engages.

If she’s going to run for POTUS, she has GOT to get some actual education on what it takes to run this country! She can’t just run around thumping her Bible and spouting off about family values and think that is enough to deal with the many issues a President has to face, like the economy, foreign relations, etc.

She HAS to figure out that everything is NOT resolved with the “Smaller Gov’t, Lower Taxes, No Abortion, Family Values” mantra. God, it’s just sickening what her ilk thinks passes as competency to run this country!

A cursory and coached prep for a campaign is far removed from real understanding of what the job entails. Why does NO ONE think she needs to be truly educated? Educated so that the issues can be discussed WITHOUT prep ahead of time? Bleccchhh!

I read the National Review article @42. From the conservative perspective, it was a good article. Is “it” the ability to create blind followers? The author, and others, say since she has “it”, all she has to do is some studying up- like some Cliff Notes can teach her all she needs to know? What about ethics? One seems to have a truly accurate moral compass or one doesn’t. I don’t think you can study up on that. If she had been hired at Fox instead of being elected governor, would people still be seeing “it”?

She represents all that is wrong with the religious right and current Republican Party. I strongly recommend Frank’s book “What’s the Matter with Kansas.” It ends about the 2004 election. “John McCain and Sarah Palin were both informed that we were doing this in an attempt to catch the person,” Schmidt told me, referring to his decision to undertake the email search, which has been the topic of fierce controversy since it was revealed yesterday.

Schmidt’s revelation sheds new light on the campaign’s internal discord and on just how frustrated McCain and Palin both were about the leaks, which portrayed Palin as a “diva” and a “whackjob” at a key moment when the campaigns were battling over her image. Schmidt’s claim will also up the stakes in the fierce infighting among top Republicans over what went wrong.”

“But not anymore. Oh, you’re still taking flak, but not because you strike fear in the hearts of Democrats. You’re taking flak because you’re striking fear in the hearts of Republicans. For Democrats, fairly or not, you’ve become a laughingstock. And for some of McCain’s campaign managers, you’ve become a convenient excuse for their failures.

But while McCain’s strategists do not cover themselves in glory for scapegoating you, you are not without blame either. You do seem to think the best advice is for you to stay just the way you are. Leaders listen to the advice they don’t necessarily want to hear.”

  142. Molly says:

    http://www.adn.com/palin/story/852044.html

Not sure how to make that an active link….the ADN’s article on Wooley being “forced out” of her position because she was not in line with GINO’s social (read “abortion”) issues.

  143. Molly says:

So GINO got rid of two people in one fell swoop–she is so talented!! It looks as though the one was told that she had to testify to GINO’s wishes on the parental consent/notification, and when it was found out that she planned also to bring up facts and statistics on why perhaps notification rather than consent would be an acceptable compromise, that GINO did not see that as toeing her line. So, Wooley was told to resign, then the other guy, Butler, was told that he had to do his own job PLUS Wooley’s, and he, too, justifiably and reasonably, declined and took a job with the CDC in Atlanta! Good for Dr. Butler!

So, the moral, once again, of the story, is that you cannot bring up facts that might tend to show that GINO’s version of reality might not be the best, and GINO doesn’t respect anyone whose opinion is not exactly the same as her own. I await with great anticipation who will be appointed to these vacant positions.

I really think AK would have been much better off if they had just gotten rid of that lady that keeps firing everyone else and in doing so, making it clear that she is quite afraid of intelligence and truth.

It turns out that she really is quite transparent, aina?

I think Moller is trying to save his sorry @ s s. When one reports a statistic like 50% met, one had darn well better have the data to back it up. When one reports anecdotal info, one darn well has to say “anecdotal”.

The ADN Q&A interviewer gave Moller plenty of chances to at least sound clued-in, but Moller just doesn’t seem to get how clueless he sounds. For example,
Q: “…lousy king runs all over the state except the Kuskokwim River? When you talk to people on the Kuskokwim they say they’re doing well. … Why is that?” (big hint here to Moller that his info seems WHACKO)

But, Mollers answer doesn’t even mention why just one river (which he happens to have stumbled over) is just peachy.

(I am just so tee-ed off about this Moller Q&A that I need to step away from keyboard. Happy 4th weekend to one and all.)

  151. sauerkraut says:

More from the newmajority website, this from a comment in response to the Frum article:

David you need to face the fact that about 75% of Republicans who represent about 20-30% of the electorate, depending on whose poll you believe, regard Palin as a serious potential presidential candidate. This means the GOP has ceased to be a serious party of governance. The fact that McCain and the higher echelons of the Republican party chose this woman with virtually no effective vetting to be only a heartbeat away from the presidency of a multiple cancer survivor and then maintained this charade when it had become abundantly clear that she was totally unfitted by intellect, character or temperament to be vp let alone president is to me a measure of the extent to which the Republican party has lost its way. I don’t want to sound like a character in Casablanca but it is truly shocking.

    ______________

From David Frum at http://www.newmajority.com: The McCain campaign is over. The duty of confidentiality has expired. The next campaign has begun. If conservatives are to avoid catastrophe, they need to hear from those inside what exactly happened. If true, the leaks constitute an urgent warning and public service. I believe they are true. For sure they confirm what I have heard during the campaign and after. Instead of complaining about these leaks, conservatives should heed them – and fast.

    __________

Proof that intelligence does exist within conservative circles. There are some who are willing to address the issue of whether Sarah Palin truly is a dipstick with lipstick. But will their conservative brethren allow such talk or will they continue forward with their heads stuck in the lipstick?

I know there was a fisherman, I’d have to go back and look at my notes, that mentioned it at the subsistence board meetings. And a number of folks over the course of the next day that mentioned to me that you know, quite a few of them had gotten, gotten their subsistence needs. … (Palin spokeswoman Sharon Leighow) mentioned it to me that Nick Tucker — was, was referenced as the source of information on that 50 percent and if … I made that assertion and that’s not correct, I’ll have to call Nick and tell him I’m sorry. But I talked to many, many people over those two days … and I heard it on numerous occasions that people were getting their needs.”
