Pat Buchanan Says Levi Johston Should Be Killed. Isn’t That Funny?

Since even before the infamous David Letterman/Sarah Palin kerfuffle in recent weeks, I’ve been hearing a lot about how mean people are to Sarah Palin’s family. To some extent, I agree. There’s definitely a line between attacking someone’s policy decisions, and someone’s family. Granted, when the family or its members are specifically cited as living breathing examples of one’s policy leanings, (i.e. pro-life, pro-special needs families, pro-military, pro-abstinence) the line becomes a bit wiggly and blurry, and each person draws it in a different place.

That said, there’s been a whole lot of “stupid slutty trailer trash” talk, and jokes about unwanted pregnancy that to most people, were in pretty poor taste. But, those jokes were held up by the right as sweeping examples of how Palin’s children have been attacked in an unprecedented way. Nobody from the right would ever do that, we were led to believe. Conveniently forgotten were horrible jokes told about Amy Carter, and Chelsea Clinton.

But, “Can you imagine” they breathlessly ask, “if this were done to Barack Obama? Nobody has ever attacked his children, nor would they. Conservatives understand family values. You liberals just think it’s OK to skewer the children. Shame on you.” And the criticisms about David Letterman’s joke that her daughter got “knocked up” by Alex Rodriguez at the Yankee game came from Palin herself, as well.

“I would like to see him apologizeto young women across the country” for contributing to a culture “that says it’s OK to talk about statutory rape,” Palin told Matt Lauer on TODAY. “It’s not cool; it’s not funny.”

Behold the latest from Pat Buchanan.

Notice please the uproarious laughter that follows.

So, I will be interested to see how Sarah Palin reacts to Pat Buchanan advocating that her husband murder Levi Johnston, and the fact that several members of “the media” found it pretty funny. Will she demand that he apologize to young men across the country for contributing to a culture of violence that says it’s OK to talk about murdering teenage boys? How did this contribute to Levi’s self-esteem? And how does Sarah Palin feel about Buchanan suggesting that her husband become a cold-blooded murderer? And that he orphan her only grandchild by violently killing his father with his bare hands?

Perhaps Buchanan meant it as … a joke?  A not very funny, tasteless, joke?

Palin has gone out in a very public way to decry insensitive remarks made about kids. Well, like it or not, this kid is part of her family. So, what now? Letterman’s joke excuse wasn’t enough for Sarah Palin.

And as for people being sweet and kind to the Obama girls…

“A typical street whore.” “A bunch of ghetto thugs.” “Ghetto street trash.” “Wonder when she will get her first abortion.”

These are a small selection of some of the racially-charged comments posted to the conservative ‘Free Republic’ blog Thursday, aimed at U.S. President Barack Obama’s 11-year-old daughter Malia after she was photographed wearing a t-shirt with a peace sign on the front.

The thread was accompanied by a photo of Michelle Obama speaking to Malia that featured the caption, “To entertain her daughter, Michelle Obama loves to make monkey sounds.”

Though this may sound like the sort of thing one might read on an Aryan Nation or white power website, they actually appeared on what is commonly considered one of the prime online locations for U.S. Conservative grassroots political discussion and organizing – and for a short time, the comments seemed to have the okay of site administrators.

“They haven’t done thaton the other side of the ticket… So that is a political double standard,” said Palin. So much for the double standard.

The right should be very very careful about claiming the political high road in anything.  And what would happen if Keith Olbermann, or anyone on the left side of the political spectrum had said that Bristol should have been “taken down to the creek and had her head held under water until the thrashing stopped.”

And I’ll be waiting for Sarah Palin to demand an apology from Pat Buchanan for making light of the violent murder of innocent teens in her family.  But I won’t be holding my breath.

Right on Pat…the Wasilla hillbillies. It is refreshing to hear Levi speak
his mind about Queen Palin. He isn’t seeing her through rose colored
glasses. Maybe someday he will tell us more about Trig and Housegate.
Unless Diva Sarah pays him off.

Pat, you are safe, no apology will be requested by Palin and her
“Department of Law”…but watch out, brainy Sarah may send the
Department of Law at the White House after you.

I love your sense of humor!!

  2. John says:

Poor Pat. He’s a little on the senile side…
If his facts were in order he’d know, first, that the First Dud is too busy playing Mr. Mom to have time to murder Levi…
And, second, that Levi would probably kick the effete Dud’s arse!

What an interesting comment to be made by such a sanctomonious church guy anyway. Gotta love it.

  3. Kallie says:

The same is true of Dr. Drake, who prayed for Obama’s death through his precatory prayer definition…how sick can people be?

  4. Kallie says:

Obviously the people who think Palin is a Christian, have absolutely no idea of what a Christian is….her actions are of the devil…disguised in a narcisstic, egotistical, liar of a woman.

  5. Am I the only one who is still afraid that Obama will be killed by a crazy “white Christian”? I was afraid throughout his campaign, then less afraid after he won. However, the murder of abortion doctor George Tiller made me afraid all over again for Obama. Tell me I am the only one who thinks this, so I can throw it off as my paranoid self.

  6. Country Girl says:

    @the problem child

Thanks for your advice. (I finally had time to read all the comments.)

I’m having trouble registering on the forum. It’s past 2:30 A.M. I’ll try tomorrow. ZZZZzzzzz

  7. k johnson says:

The double standard is that when Palin’s kids were trashed, the rationale was that Palin brought them in the public so anything was fair.

Well, Levi has chosen to go public so why isn’t he fair game now? Same with Obama’s girls.

I find the racist stuff about the O’s totally offensive, but I think people are feeling that since Palin’s kids were fair game, so are these other people.
Unfortunately politics has turned into blood sport.

  8. michigander says:

Several months ago my daughter in law called me from college weeping and said she didn’t want to be a Christian anymore if a true Christian was Sarah Palin and the like.

My father lost a 47 year old friendship after much debate over Palin. His friend ended their friendship by telling him he was not a Christian if he did not support her.

The only thing Palin, Pat Buch, Limbaugh, Hannity, O’Reilly etc. are doing is potentially turning people against God. Sorry, just needed to rant.

Her God is not my God

  9. Quetzalcoatl says:

The code word ‘white christians’ means white pride-aryan nation-nazi sympathizer-kkk.

If you go to stormfront[dot]org>International>stormfrontcanada>canadiangeneraldiscussion>kkkincanada — the ‘forum’, first post… If you are a white christian…

LIFE magazine “Goes Inside Today’s kkk.” Photographer Anthony Karen took the photos. His site has more photos, under ‘kkk’, ‘westboro baptist church’ and ‘white nationalists’.

Yep. They don’t all sport swastika tattoos – I bet many look like pat & palin — jus’ plain folk? I don’t think so. F—kn racists.

  10. AKPetMom says:

With all of the arguing amongst Palin supporters and non supporters I feel the need for moment of levity and humor as it seems that on some blogs that don’t filter out trolls (not this one, but others) we are engaged in a “flame war”.

This youtube video has a wonderful take on modern blog commenting set to a Billy Joel tune.

It’s funny; my husband is an uber geek man that is trying to find humor in my obsession w/Palin and her behavior. He is trying to make me understand that the “interweb” is a big gigantic place and that people bash on each other for much less reason than we anti and pro palin people do.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_QyYaPWasos

It’s funny, not suitable for work funny, but funny.

  11. daMamma says:

And he calls himself a Christian? I’ve read that book, cover to cover even, and have never seen anywhere in there Christ act or say any of the mean spirited stuff this guy comes out with. The blatant hypocrisy of this man and people like him makes my stomach turn. Don’t any of his followers ever actually read that book he keeps pounding and waving in the air? Or do they all just let him and others like him interpret it for them?

What a twisted little man. I’d say he’s in for a very rude awakening when he meets his maker.

  12. When Obama was campaigning he did say that the family should be off-limits, not just his but Sarah’s as well. Sarah never gave him credit for his remark and twisted it to sound like he meant his family, not hers. She is adept at misquoting others.

I don’t think you will hear Sarah screaming about Buchann’s joke regarding the thrashing of Levi. She would probably like to do the “thrashing” herself.

  13. Incarcerate_Palin says:

GINO, Buchanan and their ilk have nothing of any substance to say, so they make incendiary comments to liven up their “base” of half-wits and no-minds, notably white people who more than likely have racist beliefs.

About the racial slurs made by Repugs about the Obamas, I think Frank Rich really nailed it in his Sunday NYT column, writing about the racist subtext to some of Palin’s comments. This link has likely been posted on The Mudflats already, but I’ll link it for those Mudflatters who may not have read it:

    http://www.nytimes.com/2009/07/12/opinion/12rich.html

I read that a confirmed white supremacist was elected as a Young Repug leader this past week – big surprise there.

When I first read that Palin may be starting a third party, I joked, yeah, the Fascist party. Then I read this article by Frank Schaeffer:

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/frank-schaeffer/sarah-palin-americas-lips_b_124213.html

It would be interesting to do a little research into the Alaska Independence Party and the Seven Mountains cult to learn about any potential racist subtext in their propaganda, or racist leanings in the backgrounds of prominent members of either.

  14. AKPetMom says:

I am losing it! I hope that we are able to hold the disenfranchised and nasty right down for all of eternity…their double standard hypocritical behavior is just too much for me to stomach.

Oh wait, they will hold themselves down and we won’t have to do anything. Still, they piss me off.

  15. michigander says:

The difference between the Obama’s and the Palin’s is respect and love for their family as opposed to exploitation and apathy.

Sarah Palin’s family values make me ill and apparently she has a following.

    Conservative? Moral? Christian!?

How dare she and her followers call themselves anything but hypocrites and zealots.

    God bless the children.

  16. futurexpat? says:

I watched almost in disbelief when Buchanan repeated it again on Hardball, and Tweety laughed and laughed. I cannot understand why MSNBC keeps him on. He always says the stupidest stuff, much of it racist and sexist.

I haven’t seen him on Rachel Maddow in a while, and I’m thankful for that.

  17. Lainey says:

bucfan…yes, and there’s that too! I was so incensed by his comments that I emailed Chris Mathews at Hardball to let him know what an inherently ignorant friend he has and why didn’t he correct this moron?

  18. bucfan says:

Lainey, and don’t forget homophobe. Pat was one of those people in the 80’s whose message was that aids was God’s punishment for homophobia. And let’s not get into his xenophobic books.

I would not foist this last year on my worst enemy, let alone a 19 year old. Once a strutting jock in a small town school, dating the good looking minor celebrity daughter of the governor, and BAM! Girlfriend is preggers, you get strutted out onto the national stage and the whole world knows your situation, you miss too much school, drop out, get dumped by girlfriend soon after the baby is born, lose your job that dad fixed up for you, dad is rarely around, mom gets popped for her oxy habit and pushing, ….oh yeah! And how was your year, Pat?

  26. justafarmer says:

ok, there really wasn’t anything wrong with what Pat said.

didn’t someone ask McCain about insurance plans that will pay for Viagra but not for birth control,Seems I remember McCain had nothing to say and that was a good question and still is..I also have to say that insurance companies are having more to say about our treatments than our Doctors do.The tell hospitals how long you can stay and doctors how to treat yo or you won’t be covered. We really need some kind of health insurance overhaul not getting rid of private but having more control about them not being able to control our own health

  32. bluebanshee says:

Not only did Buchanan incite violence against Levi yesterday on Morning Joe but he repeated it on Hardball — and Chris Matthews thought it was hilarious. Absolutely disgusting, IMHO. Another low point on Hardball came when Chris Matthews (aka “Tweety” in some circles) snickered about women’s reproductive health care being included in the upcoming health care reform bill. “Do you want to lose the whole bill just for that?!!” This came amidst endless commercials for “male enhancement” products. These guys (Matthews and Buchanan) are just sexist pigs!

  34. JRC says:

The comments about Palin’s appearance, along with that of her daughters, has really, really bothered me from the beginning. It pisses me off to no end, and I’ve been vocal about that on other blogs other than just this one.

I wholeheartedly support the criticisms of Palin’s policies and lack-there-of. But the dehumanizing comments about her physicality or her daughter’s unfortunate pregnancy or manner of dress is about as acceptable to me as the comments made about the Obama children or Michelle Obama.

  35. jojobo1 says:

If you read any of the political or even just articles about anything Obama does or says you get that rabid hate from the right then they keep saying the left are the hateful ones.I read where a woman from the right said she would show the post to her 18 year old to show how the left showed hate I answered her that she should show her all the post as the worst were from the right not the left,Also that she should listen to what went on in Anchorage last week about equal treatment and read how the far right and I believe Palin did belong to one of those churches even if she now does not?and Told her she should keep her 18 year old away from people like Palin and the people who think like her

My thoughts exactly phoebe – I can’t stand her 3,871 miles from me with the hatred she spews. The first time I heard her shrill when McCain introduced her my immediate gut reaction OH HELL TO THE NO!!!!!!!!! She’s evil in a bump-it. So evil she’s eeeevelllll.

I don’t care, I will continue to tell the people that say racist things about the Obamas that they are ignorant & have such low self esteem that they have to hate others that are different from them. I will also continue to bait greta as to why she allows these subhumans to call our first lady a gorilla & the girls n*glets & continue to demand why she isn’t hanging her head in shame at the fact that her blog has her name on it & by not stopping it she is condoning & approving of it.

  44. Democrat G says:

I’m afraid that comments like these will lead to murder. Like the abortion doctor that was recently murdered after lots of comments across the country about him. What will it take for these morons to stop talking like this? When someone shoots Sarah Palin and says that he did it cause she is a quitter? When someone shoots Palin’s daughter for having sex and a child and not married? When some politician (repub or dem) has an affair and is shot because they committed adultery (though I doubt the Repubs will care if it is a Dem and will say they deserved it – who knows)?

I want Pat held accountable for this horrible comment and I want EVERYONE on that MORNING JOE show that laughed or did not say that that talk is inappropriate FIRED!

  45. stephanie says:

With regards to conservative’s “never” resorting to attacking family, two words:

Free Republic. What happened on that site this past weekend was a disgrace and they owe the President an apology for the things that were posted there about his daughter. Nothing that has been said about Palin and her family compares to what the right has said, and called for, against the Obama family.

  46. lynnrockets says:

Where is Sarah Palin’s outrage at the Buchanan remark? She considered the Letterman joke to be an affront to all young females that might be victimized by older men. To be consistent, shouldn’t she now consider Buchanan’s plea to drown Levi to be an affront to all young men that might be murdered by older men? Not to mention the fact that Levi is part of her extended family (although she might not like to admit to that) and I thought that it was only the left that attacked her family. Who knew?

  47. phoebe says:

Remember that horrible hate speech $arah cooked up during the campaign? It scared the hell out of me & I’m afraid when she leaves office that is exactly what she plans on doing…except this time for lots of money. Think the repugs are setting the stage for her.

  48. bucfan says:

Rebbekah, I think Tank Jones should pay Pat a visit. Tank is a PI whose size befits is name and is now serving as agent/mentor to Levi. Todd would get pounded into fish bait if he tried to get near Levi.

  49. bucfan says:

Why is anyone surprised at what Pat said. Just google quotes from him and this seems tame. “Aid is natures retribution for for violating the laws of nature” said while running for President in 1992. He compares the “rise of homosexuality” to the rise of the Wiemar republic. and on an on. But he is controversial so they keep him on. Just remember, MSNBC suspended David Shuster when he accused the Hillary Clinton campaign of “pimping” out Chelsea. But he isn’t Pat, and Pat can get away with anything.

  50. phoebe says:

Pat Buchanan is just hideous…I hope this puts to rest any suggestion that he will resurface in the future. MSNBC needs to drop him…what he did was incredibly irresponsible. Hope folks push for his departure.

No surprise. Some of us know what people like Pat Buchanan really are, racist and bigots. Lately they have been emboldened by all the putrid hate spewed by the likes of the drug crazed limbo.

Sarah Palin is that woman who giggled as her favorite talk show host called lyda Green a bitch and a cancer. She would be tickled to visualize the last breath of Levi.

Not a peep out of Keith O or Rachael M about their buddy buchanan. The hatred Buchanan and others spew just reaffirms what a lot of us know about these kind of people.

Now, if Pat had said something along the line of doing the same thing to an unbehaving young child, he’d be fired. What is the age demarcation line on making these kind of jokes. Murder is no joke.

As for Pat Buchanan. I’ve thought for a long time he was an idiot and a jackass. And there’s proof. Doesn’t he sometimes trot out his religious faith? So, how does he reconcile that kind of remark with anything taught in any church anywhere. He’d better spend some extra time in confession for that one.

I didn’t see Levi this morning, but saw an interview from the other day. He really sounds like the only reasonable sane person in the whole group. And all the while he was saying that he didn’t think Sarah could handle the pressure of President or Vice President, he was also adding that he really liked and respected her. None of what he said was in an antagonistic or mean-spirited manner. I wish him well.

As for Buchanan, well, someone needs to kick him off the air and keep him off.

This means any rude remark about anyone connected to the right wing constitutes hate speech by the distorted standards projected onto liberals by rightwingers and is BAD. However, the right wing does not believe in civility. Therefore, hate speech directed at liberals is GOOD. Doublethink becomes double standard.

I think now more than ever, we need to fight for our civil liberties (sep of church and state, get otta my bedroom) and that fight shall be with Palin, the opposer to all things that don’t involve her freedom. So, PA mudpuppies, we’ll have to all meet and plan our own war on Palin.

If enough of us make that clear, maybe she’ll become an unwelcome guest. I don’t want her back in PA for any reason.

As usual, Sarah Palin and her ilk can dish it out but cannot take it. Pathetic, the lot of them.

On a different note – The Washington Post published as op-ed by Palin today. I think I speak for everyone when I say the by line should have read “By Sarah Palin’s Ghostwriter” but I digress……here is a link on HuffPo with John Kerry’s response to the op-ed:

What!!!! The leopard has changed his spots or is Sarah better “endowed” that all other women? I don’t think so. I think this is the real Pat Buchanan who has fantasies about getting lucky with Sarah. He needs to apologize for even speaking.

  76. Democrat G says:

Don’t forget the nasty nutballs protesting against Letterman. They called his kid a bastard, his wife a slut, etc. Charming.
At least we admit it when we start going overboard with slurs and picking on the kids, and we tend to self-police. And most of the kid comments are about how SARAH treats her kids, raises her kids, etc.
On the other hand, Buchanan is fair game. I’ll call him whatever I darn well please. He’s earned it.

Anna Says: July 14th, 2009 at 11:52 AM Memphis, I’d disagree about Levi’s intelligence. I watched the clip from The Today Show and thought he was pretty coherent and probably right in his analysis. This puts him up by two on his former future mother-in-law. He’s nineteen. He probably ought to keep his mouth shut instead of giving interviews, but he has time to learn. Sarah Palin’s issues don’t seem to be traits that she’ll outgrow.

I think there’s a lot of people that feel the way you do, Anna — that Levi should just keep his mouth shut — but I don’t agree.

He can do the most good for progressives and for anyone who would like $arah Palin to fade into obscurity if he talks NOW, and pursues both his speaking engagements and interviews while he’s preparing to get that book published.

I don’t care if his future is to go back to Alaska and continue on as a carpenter, or to get in the proper queue for the electrician apprentice program with the oil companies, and he resumes his hunting and fishing, and finds a like-minded Alaska girl who doesn’t have a moronic sociopath for a mother.

Right now he’s an important wrench in $arah Palin’s gears (on her square-wheeled Trojan horse, if you don’t mind a few mixed images).

  80. Seagull Junker Palin says:

The negativity about Levi – it was started by $arah herself, via Meg. It’s already been ok’d. So if you are for $arah, you are against Levi. The supportive talking heads just tow the line.

Levi is just another example of 1st she was for it, then she was against it.

I won’t even comment on the racism against the Obamas. I will monitor it and donate to the Southern Poverty Leadership Center.

  81. mlaiuppa says:

I’m also in the “don’t hold your breath” crowd.

Pat Buchanan’s lame attempt at humor will be dismissed as “he was only telling a joke” and if any attempt is made to compare it to Letterman you’ll get “but Pat isn’t a comedian”.

    You got that right.

I’ve always said the right wing has no sense of humor and can’t take a joke.

They apparently can’t tell them either.

There is one thing you can determine. Levi as struck gold. He is spot on. Otherwise he wouldn’t be attacked as he has been.

  82. riley says:

    Palin is failin after bailin.

  83. UK Lady says:

You’d think people on the right would steer clear of talking about anything to do with water right now ……………………..

    just sayin’

  84. Gardenslug says:

That was really uncalled for from Pat Buchanan. I think Levi’s big revelation from his press conference and Today appearance were just that the governor quit to pursue financial interests and get away from the stress of governing Alaska. It is not as if he was going around shopping scandalous photos of him and his ex-girlfriend Bristol Palin; or, airing recordings of conversations with the Palins that he secretly taped, (ala Linda Tripp).

  85. KaJo says:

Well, I wrote MSNBC Morning Joe and demanded an apology yesterday when I first saw that Pat Buchanan YouTube video. I probably won’t get one…

What a vicious thing to say, and it was even more abhorrent that the Morning Joe people laughed.

I didn’t watch it, but I understand Chris Matthews played this same Pat Buchanan tape on Hardball later — and that jackass laughed, too, so I’ve read.

  86. Country Girl says:

    Hi Laurie #18!

As a fellow Canadian I thank you for your words.

Sounds like you are from or near Vancouver. Has there ever been a Mudpup meeting in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia.? There must be others of us, so count me in if one could be organized. How do we do this?

Sorry if off topic. I need guidance re how to contact other Mudpups in my area.

  87. G Katz says:

Thank you. I too was wondering whether Ms. Palin would have anything to say to Mr. Buchanan. You’re absolutely correct about the right be careful to claim the political high road. I have seen some of the most vile racial slurs against President Obama and Michelle on the “right” blogs. The things they say about Obama’s mother and father are also offensive and not fit to print.

  88. anon blogger says:

I found it quite appalling from a man who purports to know Jesus. Of course, a while back Buchanan had one of Palin’s calendars looking at the pictures one day on Morning Joe. And the way he was acting was like, it was like, well, drooling. (I’m trying to be nice.)

And what did Levi say that would warrant death as Buchanan so described? Nothing, really. I don’t really see a feud between those two families, anyway. Levi and Sherry have both said they like Palin during interviews.

Thanks for a great post, AKM!

It feels like we are spiraling out of control thanks to the past eight years of clowns steering our economy, and the sheer greed from the major companies that helped put us on this path to destruction. And judge NOT – lest thee be Judged

It’s not a matter of free speech when you publically state you want someone dead”. There are enough crazies out there – that will comply. If anything happens to Levi – I hope they arrest Buchanan. Just as they should arrest

    Well worded, as always, AKM.

We live in interesting times. (Boy! Is THAT an understatement!) I ponder what appears, to me, to be a deeper and deeper gulf between ideologies in the United States and elsewhere. It reminds me of the way chromosomes line up in a cell before division (the anaphase?). Sides are taken, more and more strongly, and then – pop! – 2 cells.

I read in comments that some people are feeling drained or weary of all this – and I feel it too sometimes. What is this drive to keep up with ‘breaking news’ about Sarah Palin and all she represents?

This has a powerful if unseen imact, all of us Mudpups and all who are kindred, coming together in what seems to be a community of some kind. A community with purpose. We are the ones who keep watch. Yes, it slides into ‘gossip’ and schadenfreude sometimes, but that isn’t the focus.

I say we had better stay balanced with it, step back occasionally. But we’d all better keep her and the “Conservative Movement” (political and religious) in our sights. It could be that the DANGER goes well beyond which political party is in the White House. I believe that the United States Constitution, the very foundation of the country, is at risk here.

You AKM, and all who have been drawn together in this serendipitous ‘community’ of Alaska bloggers and comment writers, have my deepest gratitude and love. I personally believe that it is no small thing that we are doing this together, and I am so so glad to be aboard.

Thank you for writing about this AKM. I wrote an email to the network. Gah
We do not need talking heads, politians or any American leader saying such awful things. It was not funny at all to me as a female.

Perhaps to guy? They can say some pretty crude and stupid things and think them. I’d still say something to their face if I was present.

But your point is fair…….Scarah made a big fat media scene over one crude joke, will she defend the father of her grandchild, a young man who could possibly still become her son-in-law down the road, of IMO an even worse joke.

Levi was being honest, most of America knows that, he was asked his opinion. I for one admire his courage to say what he believes, he could have skirted the question to stay safe.

  102. judi says:

    Good 1 Paula.

  103. BigPete says:

It’s difficult to get too annoyed with Buchanan, because, due to some gargantuan cosmic mega malfunction, he was accidentally reincarnated into the wrong Century. It’s really not his fault.

  104. Laurie says:

@sjk….Mika’s only real position on that show is to be Joe’s punching bag. It is humiliating to me, to watch and listen to how he treats her. She laughs and giggles at him too. I cannot imagine what her father thinks of that…but we do know what he thinks of Scarborough. Mika will never a journalist be…no matter how long she remains on that show.

She also has no control over the show when Joe is not there. This morning, she gleefully permitted Liz Cheney to talk over Eugene Robinson. It was awful. If Liz really does have political ambitions….she has a lot to live down, thanks to daddy dearest. She doesn’t have a clue.

  105. Paula says:

Maybe we should email, like the losers did to Letterman.

  106. Aussie Blue Sky says:

UGH. What else can I add?

Racists, bigots, hypocrits, haters, and their doing it all for who? Jesus? Wonder what he and his dad would think of these losers?

I think I’ll follow the “PAC” -every time one of these losers says something that makes my blood boil I’ll donate 5 bucks to the ACLU.

  112. Laurie says:

I just posted about Mika….but I think it went to the outer limits. I didnt swear or anything….

  113. Laurie says:

SJK…I often wonder what Mika’s father feels when he sees his daughter in action. Firstly, she permits herself to be abused by Joe Scarborough….and the poor woman is simply vapid.

I also believe she has “daddy” issues. By that I mean..if dad says something is black…she will try to prove it is white. She seems nervous when he has been a guest on the show, and it always leaves me wondering.

Mika is only good as Joe’s punching bag. She has no interview skills to speak of…she permitted Liz Cheney to talk over Eugene Robinson this morning..and she laughed like a fool at Buchanen’s statement about Toad and Levi. I have no respect for her, and I wrote her this morning and told her exactly that.

She won’t care…but it made me feel better. Why oh why did Tim Russert have to leave us? I feel sick, thinking how different things might be were he still alive.

  114. austintx says:

Mika sure did not get any of her Dad’s brain DNA.

  115. GA Peach a/k/a Lance the Boil aka Crust Scramble says:

  116. Laurie says:

AKM thankyou for this post. I am so very tired of the hypocrisy. I intend to email the Vancouver Sun for printing this as well.

I cannot imagine why these crazies would pick on two little girls like Malia and Sasha. Just wee little girls who have done no wrong, and who have the advantage of having parents who try very hard to keep them out of the public eye.

Some of the comments were so stupid too. The ones that talked about how shamed America should be…having BO represent them on the world stage. Where in the heck have these people been for the last 8 years? BO an embarrassment??? I think not.

As a Canadian, I can assure you that many of us have changed our views regarding your country and the majority of your citizens, simply BECAUSE of President Obama and his family.

Many of also have the Alaskan bloggers to thank as well. You have given me and countless others around the world, a clear picture of what true Americian patriots are….and what they sound like. Thankyou.

I also hope that some of our Canadian politicians have taken notice of these blogs…yours and your Alaskan pals. I for one, want them to understand, that this last US election has changed the political landscape…not just for you…but for my country and citizens as well.

I can only hope, that we have brave progressive bloggers to keep our pols in line too. I can hope in any event.

    – SHE SHOULD BE WEARING THE HAMMER AND SICKLE!

    – Barack, now that you have put you daughter onto the political scene is she going to be fair game for the comics? Like showing her how to use a teleprompter, come on that’s funny

    – what was on the back of her shirt a picture of rev wrong and bill ayers laughing there buts off

    – How could her mom and dad cheapen her this way?

    – GAG ME

    – My mother would not have tolerated such sloppy attire to an important event, especially knowing the cameras are on her.

    – T should have read: “I’m With Stupid”

    – I heard she has 4 T-shirts similar to that one. One with Hugo Chavez, one with Daniel Ortega, one with Zeyala and one with her Dad’s picture. Birds of a feather.

    – Malia will soon be sporting the Che Guevera-Fidel Castro “Little Miss” line for Marxist Youths

    – Whatever her age if her parents didn’t approve of the shirt she wouldn’t have worn it – Just another kid growing up without proper instruction

    -the kids are acorn rentals

    – Great!! Big Ears’ daughter is wearing a T-shirt with the footprint of an American chicken on

Sorry to ramble, but these folks are truly scary. Always remember, the brown shirts were once in the minority too.

  121. mipartee says:

you know…after watching many seasons of Northern Exposure I used to fantisize that someday I would just up and quit all this media and political nonsense, the cubicle/suburbia life and run off to Alaska where I could live close to nature and be far away from all the consumerism and celebrity fascination that is our modern society.

  126. Memphis, NY says:

I heard Buchanan repeat the comment on Chris Mathews.
I actually thought it was pretty funny after seeing Levi on the Today show.
Levi should take his 15 minutes of fame and try to make a name for himself as a model they don’t need to speak.
He does not come across as any more intelligent than the rest of the Palin’s and their entourage
    Sorry just my opinion

  127. Happy Hussein says:

For a so-called Christian, Pat has advocated a lot of violence during his career.

  128. Such a quaint backwoodsy solution to family problems – perhaps he only wanted Todd to scare Levi nearly to death. Interesting that Buchanan’s comment effectively portrays the Palins as hillbilly types as much or more than any of the insults slung their way. Nice one, Pat.

  129. Ripley in CT says:

It amazes me. Really it does. Where do these people get off being so high and mighty? So, holier-than-thou?

Smells like politics as usual, GINO and company. Supporters who advocate murder by drowning. Nice.
