Levi Johnston Names Second Baby After Gun

We’d like to take a break from the trivial, frivolous matter of election integrity to delve deeply into a critical piece of developing news… Levi Johnston, the ex-fiance and baby daddy of former Dancing With the Stars celebrity Bristol Palin, and also former ex-almost-son-in-law of the former ex-half-governor and former-almost-second-in-command of these here United States, has gotten his current girlfriend Sunny Oglesby in the family way. Once again, the miracle of life began for Johnston on a camping trip, and once again, the pregnancy was unplanned. We do not know if wine coolers were involved this time. “We were out…

Odds and Ends – Cabbage, Landfill, Venom and Mud.

Pass the Slaw! Those long summer days always make the giant vegetable exhibit at the Alaska State Fair interesting.  This year was even more exciting than usual…if you consider staring at giant vegetables exciting. A world record green cabbage tipped the scales at 125.9 pounds, with a 21-inch diameter head, and a leaf span of about 5 feet. In the shadow of the giant cabbage was another world record breaker, an 82.9 pound rutabega. Dump da Dump Dump… The City of Emmonak is about to receive a $3.2 million loan and a $1.4 million grant from stimulus money to construct…

Book Wars. Palin v. Johnston – Who’s Got the Slam Dunk?

Oh boy. Vanity Fair does it again. Get ready for the latest teaser extraordinaire about life in the Palin house after the 2008 election. The world’s most infamous ex-almost-son-in-law has let loose a couple interesting little nuggets of which there promise to be more in the upcoming full article entitled “Me and Mrs. Palin.” “The Palin house was much different from what many people expect of a normal family, even before she was nominated for vice president. There wasn’t much parenting in that house. Sarah doesn’t cook, Todd doesn’t cook—the kids would do it all themselves: cook, clean, do the…

Levi Johnston on Palin’s Resignation

To the surprise of many, Levi Johnston has more than once proved to be the most level-headed person in the room when it comes to many of the trials and tribulations of Sarah Palin and her daughter Bristol. So it’s interesting to hear what he has to say. Remember that Levi says he was living with the Palin family from early December through mid-January. They say he wasn’t. He says he had all his stuff there and slept there.  They say he wasn’t living there.  He says, yeah…whatever. Levi decided to pipe up today and give us the reason he…

Tank & Levi’s Hollywood Caper

The unlikely Alaskan Dynamic Duo of Levi Johnston and his P.I./handler/life coach Tank Jones are on the loose in Hollywood, and they’re bonding by going shopping.  Shopping for clothes, and opportunities for Levi’s career. Tank and Levi seem to be an unlikely duo—why would a self-proclaimed “redneck” like Levi Johnston be taking style cues from Tank Jones, a size-58 suit-wearing black man who works in the law offices of Rex Butler in Anchorage? I invited them to go shopping with me in downtown L.A.’s wholesale fashion district to find out, and to see Tank work his magic on Levi for…

Keeping Up With the Johnstons

Sherry Johnston, according to her lawyer Rex Butler, has agreed to plead guilty to a felony drug charge of  “possession with intent to deliver.”  She will submit her guilty plea on July 31, and in exchange, the state has agreed to dismiss five other drug charges against her. She arrived at the courthouse (above) with her daughter Mercede, Tank Jones, and the almost-son-in-law of the governor, Levi.   (whispering to Sherry and Levi) I think that Mercede and Tank need to be consulted on appropriate wardrobe choices from now on….just sayin’. Johnston’s arrest involved the drug oxy-contin, a narcotic painkiller for…

Alaska Disastas – A Thursday Triple Roundup

We’re staring at the end of the week, and up here in the North land, it’s just one disaster after another. They seem to come in all shapes and sizes, so let’s just roll up our sleeves and dig in. Flood The early spring, and warm temperatures have not come without a price.  Rapid melt on the Yukon River has caused a “breakup” like none in recorded history.  Huge, house-sized chunks of ice have ridden the rising floodwaters and  demolished the old village of Eagle.  The governor has made a disaster declaration which includes the drainages of the Yukon, Kuskokwim,…
