As I said on the AKM thread, I goofed.  I thought Ian had financial support from the Alliance for Justice.  (Well, I'm a mom, ok?  I think everything is going great for my kid, okay?)  http://www.themudflats.net/forum/index.php/topic,10105.msg113258.html#msg113258

Anyway, although he might get some support from AFJ for airfare, he will not be able to attend without the support of a scholarship, particularly the hotel room and free dinners involved.

You'll see when you click the link how Netroots has helped him make an impact on Kauai.  At last year's gathering, he also obtained an internship with the Alliance for Justice, where he is currently working on a film about about the Gulf disaster.  And with the backing and support of the deaf community on Kauai, he will be ensuring that the film is captioned. So please vote.  xmas-smiley-002

I just posted a plea for Ian on my Facebook wall and Twitter. Might get a few more votes.

You are showing up now from WV! Smiley  Mahalo nui loa!

I'm working with the Kauai groups to try to make up for lost time.  Easter Seals director has picked up on this, as has the retirement home where he was a cafeteria helper for over a year.  He needs a gazillion votes to catch up, but people who know him from his volunteer work here with seniors and with people with developmental disabilities are doing their best to support him and spread the word.

But we are small in number, so please keep voting and sharing the link!

Lani, when do all the votes have to be in by?  I too am worried about the time and amount of votes me need to make up.  Can AKM put up something on one of her posts to get mudpups to help out?
