If you have asked for your email address to be hidden in your profile, you may be surprised to be able to see it.

Never fear, the forums will not show your email address to other forum members. Smiley

I have tested this to be certain.

I guess the forum software thinks it is ok to show it to you, seeing as it is yours. Wink

I am an Global Mod on a very highly trafficked and well known public forum elsewhere which uses the exact same SMF as here..
If you have the " hide my email  " option enabled, ONLY YOU and the admin can see your email.
No worries fellow mudflatters.  Your emails are safely hidden indeed.

I have to admit that the envelope symbol freaked me out when I noticed that others did not have it.  Thought I had checked the hide email address box.....

The forum does not hide your email address from *you* because the forum figures you know it already. Wink So you will still be able to see it. All the other forum members will see is "hidden" in your profile screen.

It's handy, hidden or not, if one has several addresses, thus needs to keep track of which one is used where.

Oh DUH!!! I just spent an ungodly amount of time trying to figure out why my little envelope kept showing even though I had "don't show" checked! Even changed it back and forth a few times to see if that would make a difference. I was about to post a question about that, but - thankfully! - had the good sense to FRIGGING CHECK THE OFFERED INFO FIRST!!  LOL

(This from one who always harps on others to check the available help files and whatnot. Someone slap me with a wet spaghetti noodle, please)
