Yup, I actually live in Juneau, Alaska.  I've lived here since 1985 and love it.  I can't imagine living much of anywhere else, as I've long known that I love living at the thin intersection between the ocean and the mountains.  And although this summer's cold and rain have started to get to me, the rain keeps us all looking so young...

The tourists (at least the ones on cruise ships) are gone for the season, so we're back to our quiet little town till the Legislative Session starts up in January.  It ought to be an interesting one this year, esp. for SWWNBN when she has to return to our great start after Nov. 4!  Well, not that she'll actually return HERE, since she seems to just use the Governor's House as a "vacation home".

That avatar's an actual mudpuppy!  I've always liked salamanders (I owned two as a kid), so it was fun to discover that there's actually one that fits some Mudflat bloggers' naming of ourselves mudpuppies.  He/She came from National Geographic.

Not much else to say now, as I must go catch the evening's news to find out how the latest interviews went!

Thanks for the warm welcomes, though I do wish I'd waited to be number 1000 for the proposed moose stew drop!

And here I would have thought that not many people would have heard of Juneau WI - I mean, it is the seat of government for someone, but not a state capital...of course, I haven't been to either. There isn't much that goes on in "our" Juneau - and they don't have the benefit of a legislature to drag in every year... Wink

Did you know that they're both named for people from the same extended family?  Then there's always the one in Texas, but "they" don't know how to spell it correctly!  Wink

NO, really?  Is it named for some other member of the same family for which the AK and WI Juneaus are named?
