God love ya, Joe
«

I knew about this, and found it on Time's website of 2008 campaign gaffes. It's just so Joe, it made me laugh and laugh. I know the repubs have used this against him, but there is something truly endearing about Joe's gaffes and his humble self-deprecation. Hope this won't offend anyone, I offer it as a funny interlude in a stressful day.

Mollys Mum,
I had only heard about this from the Republican viewpoint on one of my scary travels to the
"other side."
Of course it was horribly distorted.
Thank you for posting that - I did get a giggle - and I love Joe Biden even more now.

Picked up off of Kos today -- from a speech in Warren, Ohio.
Biden said there is a fundamental difference between Obama and McCain,
and someone in the crowd shouted out
"brains."
"Maybe I should stop there," Biden joked.
God love him.

I think that Joe Biden has been through enough heartbreak in his lifetime to have an understanding and compassionate heart for all. He is just a very dear man
Could we ask for any better in a VP?? I think not and I think Obama choosing him is a statement for Obama also.

Gawd, I'm so off topic this week.
Anyhow, I was watching Bill Maher a little while back, and he had some right-winger on. (Not a lunatic - one of the sensible ones.)
Anyhow, this guy asks Bill 'Can you look me in the eye and tell me that Barack Obama is more qualified to be president than Sarah Palin?', to which Bill naturally replied 'Yes.' 'What qualification,' continued the other guy, 'does Obama have that Palin does not?'
I think he missed a perfect opportunity to respond with 'A functioning brain?'

Joe Biden a few days ago said the number one issue facing the middle class was "a three-letter word: Jobs. J-O-B-S."
I couldn't find a direct youtube link that worked, but it's in HuffPo's "Jokes of the week" (starting at around 0:43):

Icy,
I completely agree. (Maybe it's because he's clearly smart, but just puts his foot in his mouth a lot... )

Of all the main individuals that are involved in the election, Mr. Biden seems to be the most genuine. I think the deaths of his first wife and daughter affected him more than he lets on and probably still to this day.

I really admire Joe. And when he walked out on that stage tonight to join Obama, that's when the tears really started to flow in our house!

Joe is going to be a huge asset to Obama. He has such a steady hand and heart and head. Obama showed great wisdom in choosing Joe.

For all the gaffes and silliness the MSM likes to poke at Joe, he is one of the kindest and smartest Americans on the Hill today. Godspeed, Vice President-elect Biden - we are here for you!
