Howdy fellow voters & those interested in the politics of the USA. My take on it is that there isn't a dimes worth of difference between the 2 presidential candidates. No matter who is elected it will be more of the same. Spend, spend, spend. The democrats tax and spend while the republicans borrow and spend. Only once during the campaign have I heard anyone mention "less spending" & that was McCain.
Hopefully, I will learn something here.

Welcome to the forums Saucer Wink

 Welcome

As far as less spending goes, I think there's a few things which can easily be cut - like 10 billion a month for war in Iraq. I have certainly heard Obama talk about that.

However sometimes the government has to spend in order to keep things afloat, like the big bailout which was just voted for. I personally believe that government have a responsibility to pick people up when they fall, so health care and unemployment are high on my list of important things.

I just read this post about health care which is worth a read -

Where the Uninsured and City Streets Collide---the REAL Cost of the Health Care Crisis in the US

As far as democrats tax - are you making over 250k a year? If no, you'll see a tax cut under Obama. Smiley

Hey, Saucer!  Welcome to the Mudflats Forum!  We have a few other Texans here...looking forward to getting your read on the happenings.

Browse around the Forum...there's a lot about the Candidates, but also some socializing as well.  For information on Obama vs. McCain's take on the economy, we have some good threads going on in the "Issues" board here:
