Hi, everyone,

It's great to see this forum up and running. I was one of the many who ran to their computers after watching Sarah Palin introduce herself on Aug. 29th. I was intrigued with her story, but skeptical. She sounded like she had just won the Publishers' Clearinghouse Sweepstakes, and John McCain looked so uncomfortable standing next to her that I knew something wasn't right. Luckily, I stumbled upon Mudflats. When I saw that graphic from the Twilight Zone on one of AKMuckraker's first posts about the pick, I knew I wasn't alone!

I live across the bay from San Francisco, and moved here about a year ago after many years in Washington, DC.  I work from home as a writer and wish I could write half as eloquently as our blogmaster! I would not describe myself as a political junkie, but this VP pick has scared me to the core. Now, I'm total Mudflatoholic.
