Hello all. I've been following the main Mudflats page and am just getting into the forum.

I never imagined I'd end up living in the heart of the old Confederacy, but I've knocked around in north, south, midwest, with some years in California. Now I'm hoping for a historic event as the capital of that old confederacy here in Virginia gets ready to vote for an African-American and against a secessionist sympathizer. My own political roots go back to the DFL in Minnesota and through antiwar activities in New York in the 60's.

I wrote a rhyme (or doggerel) "The Nomination of Sarah P." which is updated on the humor forum. I was visiting my grandchildren the weekend that McCain announced the choice of Palin. I'd been reading the 2 and 4 year old some rhymes, and then on the 3 hour drive home, rhyme, Palin, and the Yukon poet R.W. Service all came together and I started writing it on the drive.

Lots of thanks to those who are organizing this wonderful site.

Cheers,
Gary aka khaki salmon palin

This is how it should be done: Lodge yourself on a stratum, experiment with the opportunities it offers, find an advantageous place on it, find potential movements of deterritorialization, possible lines of flight, experience them, produce flow conjunctions here and there, try out continuum intensities segment by segment, have a small plot of new land at all times.
