Live in Nashville born and raised in Oregon, lived for a bit in Idaho. I do get tired of living in red states not much love for other ideas here.

It is funny Western Oregon is about as Democrat as you can get. I moved to Idaho to take care of mom and it is very republican. Get a new job and move to Tennessee and find out that it is almost as bad as Idaho.

I have managed something that I thought would never happen my 70 year old mother that has been a Republican her whole life is voting for Obama this year.  Cool

Yes, I think there are going to be quite a few voting for Obama but maybe not openly supporting him!  Talked to a republican the other day who can't afford to make any public statements and while he did not come right out and tell me he was voting Obama, he expressed serious concern about Palin.  It will surely be interesting.

Actually the funny thing is that she has been for Obama since he declared she likes his policies. She will proudly tell anyone that the only other Democrat that she ever thought about voting for before this was Robert Kennedy. She still hates Bill and Hillary Clinton but has never been able to tell me why. This Bush has pushed her over the edge though and McCain has become a crazy man.

New Nashvillian in the house!

I'm originally from Pittsburgh, lived for a few years in the Philly area, and have been down in the bowels of conservative hell for the last two. At least I'm in a liberal part of town (East Nashville), and my sign is still standing tall!

Meeting my parents "in the middle" (they're still in Pittsburgh) for the weekend to help canvass in Ohio. Can't wait. For the first time in her 64 years on this planet, my mom has been campaigning. Love it.

Nice to meet you and have someone else from the Nashville area. I finally got my signs today ordered them 9-23 was seriously wondering if I was going to get them. I am out here in Anitoch so I am not sure how long it is going to be unmolested. I had to make a trip up to Russellville, Ky today and M\P signs were everywhere I was so sad to see them all.

I got my sign on a lucky day @ Victory '08 headquarters when a shipment came in! If you want to feel good, drive through East Nashville. There's a total of one McCain/Palin sign and a plethora for Obama/Biden. We're out here, I promise!

Have you noticed I haven't seen a McCain commercial for weeks but see Obama ones every day now. I guess that is a benefit of living in a state that the Republicans are sure they are going to win they don't feel the need to bombard us with commercials.
Speaking of Republicans have you gone to our current US Senator Lamar Alexander's site to try to find out his stands on things? Since I am new here I went to his and to Robert Tuke's sites. I can't find anyplace anything that says where Alexander stands on anyone or anything. I am rather independent so I like to vote for the person not a party. Parties can put up some crazy people just look at this presidential race.  Tongue

Welcome There were just some guys from Nashville at the Obama rally in Kansas City today October 18.  They were really nice.  They were in town for the football game tomorrow, but when they heard Obama was here they headed right up to join the rally.  It was cool to be able to tell them Kansas City landmarks to go and check out.  Cool  Welcome

Hi there from another Nashville 'blue'...that's a Titan's color too....I'm all about 'code blue'.  Glad there was early voting as I left Nashville for the 'blue' state of Massachusetts for a three month contract job...my 'Obama' bumper sticker is not so in jeopardy here.  Put an Obama/Biden sticker on my mailbox before I left...just to piss off some of my neighbors...the ones who keep saying " I hear he's a Muslim"...just an excuse for not having the wherewithal to vote for someone of color... I claim a few friends that are Muslim and I found that whole smear very annoying,  to say the least... At least Nashville was one of the few 'blue' islands in that red state...  What was the reaction there? 1 Thumb Up!

I work in one of the schools for the disenfranchised or to be more accurate the poor. I can say that the students reaction was very very positive.

God Bless You... Wink 1 Thumb Up!

McCain made a good speech...but, when he started out by saying "I wish to congratulate this country's African Americans" I wanted to say "STOP"...this is a congratulations to ALL Americans...free from living in a country where a person is unable to reach their potential because of their skin color.  This frees us all from the injustice to some and my heart still sings...tell your students that this old Nashville southern christian lady is very very happy.  I did not vote because of his race but I would never let such keep me from voting for him either...and vote for him I did.

I would love to see a woman in the White House but SP was an insult to the many women who have legitimately worked hard to achieve and I hope that comes in my lifetime in my lifetime too...but, no vote here just because of gender... Dancin' Chili

I will freely admit that in the primaries I voted for Hillary and would have been thrilled to have her as president. The differences between her and Obama are not that great and I was happy to follow her directive and switch to him and work for him to become the first person of color to be the president of these United States.

You are correct about it being a good field the funny part is how I fell into it. I had a foster son that was into computers so I had to learn about them in self defense.

I came down from eastern PA because of my husband's job and want out.  I want to move to where we actually have family.  It'll be a novelty.
