Hello all..
I'm glad to have found this nice forum where I feel safe to state my opinions.

I'm married with one grown up child. Came to the Ozarks by way of Alaska, where we lived for many years.

Hubby and I are retired now and our Alaskan friends are talking us into coming back home. We shall see. lol

Yep...most of our friends are there. They also have been sending us care packages of fresh caught salmon and halibut each year, bless them!

Will be looking forward to going back to salmon fishing again. Never learned how to fish until I moved up there. lol

My best friend, Alice Guffey, lives in Monticello.  Her husband teaches at the college and she is an artist.
she just got a job to do a sculpture for Peg Newton Smith, a famous ark woman.
My friend mainly does sculptures out of recycled stuff...just wonder if you ever heard of her?

I visited her once, but when she lived in the valley..I think Mina valley...way in the sticks on the western side of the state.

Welcome to this great site!!

Hello Judi.
Sorry, I've never had the pleasure of meeting Alice Guffey. I live in the north-central part of AR. Almost to the MO border.

Kilia...didnt really to expect you to know her, though was wishing.  She is pretty well known in ark..for her wild art ha ha ha...

One time she got invited to the governor house...when clinton was in...she wore a dress she made from old inner tubes she found on the beaches on lake erie..no lie!

Still I welcome you so much to this group of people.  It is a wonderful place to talk about issues and concerns that we all have as americans.  and some pretty fun times with book club, recipes, etc...I love this site!

a warm hug and welcome from western ny

For the "States Project" information...I am not in Arkansas anymore. Moved back to Alaska this past March.
