I haven't slept properly for weeks with the anxiety and excitement of this election.  I am dreaming of a landslide so that I can finally get a good night's sleep.

I am a mom, school guidance counselor, lover of animals and travel.  I lived in Homer one summer in a tent on the spit when I was carefree and unencumbered.  I do not know if I'll ever get back to Alaska, but the memories of my time there are seared into my soul.

I started reading news from Alaska after McCain selected Palin for VP.  The first interview sent a wave of shock through my system.  Perhaps it was a gift from Senator McCain, because I have to believe that intelligent people will see through this woman.   We have 2 republican women senators here in Maine.  They are smart and have a commanding grasp on foreign and domestic issues.  I am grateful that McCain did not choose one of them, as the polls might be looking very different today.

I cried for weeks after the 2000 election, I don't know what I'll do if Senators Obama and Biden don't bring it home for us. Undecided

How will Alaska deal with Ms. Palin when she returns unsuccessfully from the campaign trail?

So many questions........

It's such a small world!

Alas, my hopes that WV would go blue are all but dashed.  I'd love to see the pollsters wrong, but if they're wrong about us, they might be wrong elsewhere and I'm loving the electoral vote projections...so I'm trying to be content being in a red state again if that means all the other states stay the color they are now.

I have some friends who work/teach at Concord.  It's a beautiful campus in a beautiful part of the state.

Where in Maine are you?  I spent a decadent week in Millbury once.  It's a fond memory.

It IS a small world.

I live about an hour north of Portland.

We were hoping for WV to go blue too.  My SIL was brought by the campaign to MO for the last few weeks to help organize the ground game there.  She emailed us yesterday that she herself scheduled 15,000 volunteer slots over the weekend and feels very very hopeful.

I am holding my breath.....

TRConnie, did you get one of those Todd Palin snowmobile flyers in Maine??  Sure glad to see Maine didn't fall for that one!  Welcome to the mudhole!  Cheers from Cecily. 1 Thumb Up!

Thanks for the welcomes, folks.  I am SOOOOOOOOOOOO relieved that Mainers made the right choice in all their districts.  I had little doubt the Man would get all our electorates but I had a small tinge of fear in one of our more rural districts.  Even one electorate for McCain-Palin, would have made me ballistic.
