Former Alaskan (grad. East Anchorage HS in '63)...now too many years an 'old southern' white broad...still in tears and singin' (we southerners can drop our 'G's too, Sarah)...and so happy we could jump up and slap our momma....my faith is restored.  Now, I don't have to go lookin' for real estate in Canada...I'll let all the dissapointed neocons do that...
Love lookin' in on my old home state...

Well...

It's a small world.  My SO lives in Boston.

The Appalachians are just beautiful this time of year, but spring is my favorite.

Welcome to Mudflats Forum!

Happy to have a few folks from Nashville.....the place this Chinese fiddler has always wanted to end up in.

One of these days....

To TRConnie...

Fall-Spring....it's a toss up.  I loved WV all year round.  We had a little farmstead down in southern Mercer County.  Wound up in Nashville r/t my then husband's dream of writing and pickin'... Long story short...the competition is pretty stiff, it's all a gamble and he never quite had what it took...but we wound up finishing up raising our three kids in TN and then he moved on...and back to our little farm that I loved.  But, Nashville's been good to me and I've lived there longer than anywhere else, so I call it 'home'.  I'm a nurse and never get the chance to get unemployed (worked to death maybe, but never unemployed) and two of my kids have moved, my sis and other famiy are in Denver and further west...so, I take these contract jobs where I can live and hang out with some of them...right now the youngest is in grad school at BU and I love helping out him and wife and two granddaughters...

I did take a job in Anchorage in '01 at the same hospital I'd left in '68 (Providence)...it was a fun trip down memory lane...and I barely made it across the Canadian border into Montana the night of Sept 10 on my way home...next morning I listened to the radio all day for days...

Boston to WV...that's a bit of a stretch for a SO isn't it??

To the Chinese fiddler....never too many fiddlers of any genre in Nashville...they hang out on all the street corners and play pretty for change...but there's always someone you can bunk up with there.

'Nashville' joke: Describe a musician in Nashville who doesn't have a girlfriend....answer: homeless    LOL

I love the picture of flags in Shanghai...one of my dtr-in-laws grew up in Pakistan and visited Afghanistan where they fly a lot of prayer flags from the hills and mountain sides...

So..how does one 'reply' to a specific post on this forum??

So..how does one 'reply' to a specific post on this forum??

Two ways: Click the Reply button that appears at the top and bottom of the message space. This gets a completely blank text entry box. Or, click the Quote button attached to each individual message. This gets a text entry box containing the whole message, which you can snip if you like to get it down to specific parts you want to respond to. In addition, your own posted messages will each have a Modify button - click it if you want to revise something.

And last but not least: Welcome Welcome Welcome Welcome

Well Hey Nashville,
Welcome to Massachusetts. I live in Western Mass. Grew up on the Alabama Gulf Coast and drive back and forth from Mass to the Gulf Coast at least twice a year to look after the 83 year old mother and give my sister a break. I have my favorite drives through Virginia and Tennessee and I, too, love Spring in the mountains. Stay warm in Boston.
