My Three Favorite...

Movies: (I warn you, these can change daily and usually do, as there are WAAYY to many!  But here's a shot at it...)
1. Fargo
2. Empire of the Sun
3. Hedwig and the Angry Inch

Songs:
1. Street Spirit (Radiohead)
2. Ship Song (Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds)
3. Anything by The Cramps (okay, I cheated here)

Actors:
1. Johnny Depp
2. Ralph Fiennes
3. Anthony Hopkins

Actesses:
1. Kathering Hepburn
2. Helen Mirren
3. Cate Blanchett

Books
1. Imajica (Clive Barker)
2. The Autobiography of King Henry VIII (Margaret George)
3. Blindness (Jose Saramago...and yes I read it when it first came out in 1999, way before the movie)

Flowers:
1. Blue Japanese Irises
2. Roses
3. Magnolias
4. Peonies (yes...I cheated and gave four answers...sorry, couldn't help it)

Sports:
There is only Baseball.

Desserts:
1. Fruits with various Cheeses
2. Something Chocolate
3. Something Lemony

Things I'm really good at:
1. Procrastinating
2. Baking
3. Flipping shit

Things I'd like to learn:
1. Knitting
2. Pottery
3. Mind Control

Hobbies:
1. Reading
2. Writing
3. Really bad knitting

Cars I've owned:
Let me qualify this by letting you know that I have been GREEN and CAR-FREE since 1990. Yeay, for public transportation!
1. 1978 Honda Civic, Red
2. 1983 Honda Accord, Hatchback, Sliver
3. 1986 Honda Accord, 4-door, Charcoal

Places I've lived the longest:
1.  Seattle, WA
2.  Flagstaff, AZ
3.  Carpinteria, CA

Places I want to go:
1. France...especially Paris
2. India
3. New York City

Questions I've always wanted answered:
1. Why?
2. How Come?
3. What for?

Scariest moments:
1. Looking up inside the tornado as it barely skimed the roof of my house in Montgomery, AL,as I tried to open all the windows.  I was alone while babysitting my brother and sister...they were in the center of the house in a bathtub, covered with sofa cushions...and I was only 14.
2. November 3rd, 2004 (Upon finding out the election results)
3. Rolling my 1978 Honda Civic on the Interstate at 50 miles an hour

Most embarrassing moments:
1. At age 2, upon realizing that I could NOT drink apple juice out of my red-enameled tin cup while lying flat on my back on the living room floor.  It dripped down both sides of my neck to the floor and I sputtered and gasped...and everyone in the room thought it was very cute and funny and laughed a lot.  I would have shot poison darts from my eyes at them for doing so, I was so ambarrased...and so I was angry.
2. At age 3, at a birthday party for my favorite aunt, I broke a bottle of very expensive perfume given to her as a gift.  I was truely mortified, even though I recall that my aunt was very gracious about it.
3. Something so bad I think I've forgotten it.  I can tell it's there, but can't even begin to formulate the memory. Probably for the best...

Okay...that's all yer gettin' for now! Wink

What a fun thread --

Three Guilty Pleasures:
1) Japanese monster movies - the silly plots, low budget monsters, cheesy special effects, terrible acting and even more terrible dubbing, just too much fun to not enjoy.
2) True Blood - especially Stephen Moyer as Bill Compton, whooo hooo!
3) Mystery books - yep, my favorite genre books, call me intellectually lazy....
4) (oops, looks like I can't count), anything made with whipped cream, including eating it straight out of the bowl, I can feel my arteries hardening as I type  LOL

three foods I want when I am sick
1) Chicken Soup (preferably homemade, except who wants to make soup when they are sick)
2) Chinese Food (pretty much any)
3) Popsicles (but never orange ones, they are yucky)

Three foods I wont eat that besides Orange Popsicles
1) anything blue (there is one exception, I will eat the red white and blue Popsicles, sometimes called rocket pops and sometimes called firecrackers)
2)  eggs (I will eat them in baked goods and such)
3) raw spinach (it upsets my stomach, too much fiber)

Here I am, pouring my soul out...and you're talking whipped cream and knitting?

Sigh.

O.K.

3 (of my many) favorite edibles:

1.  Mango Lassi (E. Indian yogurt like drink w/ fresh mango nectar...to die for!)

2.  Moon Cake with lotus seed paste & duck egg yolk (only available for Moon Festival celebrations, around the beginning of Autumn...thus a round, yellow duck egg yolk in the center)

3.  Tiger Prawns (fresh, steamed just enough, dipped in soy/ginger sauce)

Hungry.

Other "threes"

Three politicians I dislike with great intensity:
GW Bush (Shrub)
Joe Lieberman
Tom Feeney (former US Rep from Florida dumped Nov. 4,2008)

Three women who should have run for POTUS:
The late great Barbara Jordan (most brilliant legal mind ever)
The late great Ann Richards (with Molly Ivins as her Press Secretary)
Barbara Boxer of California

Three politicians I thought about on the night of Nov. 4, 2008:
Sen. Paul Wellstone of Minnesota
Sen. Robert F. Kennedy of New York
Sen. Ted Kennedy of Massachusetts

Three favorite things about Mudflats

1. The unforgettable LIVE chats during debates. (Still wearing neck brace after instant message dart flying whiplash)

2. The hyper-smart moderators who know that I'm lame on computer skills, but somehow tolerate my presence.

3. THAT one.  Our leader. The Alaskan braveheart who dared to write about Que Sa-rah, Sa-rah.....whatever will be, will be, the future is Barack's to see....Oh Sarah is HISTORY!

Icy Russia, your embarrassing stories gave me a really good laugh!

Since I have three sons, that seems the most logical place for me to jump in this threesome discussion:

Things I love about each son:

1) The oldest - age 7 - he's a handful, very strong-willed, my-way-or-the-highway type of kid. But when he's around his younger cousins, he's so protective and nurturing.

2) The middle - age 5 - he's got such a big heart, to go with his big eyes.

3) The youngest - age 3 - he's full of joy and up for anything.
