One DAY, One KNIGHT, An entire KINGDOM

« on: November 17, 2008, 08:25:28 pm »

Hello fellow Mudflatters. I was reading the list of states and names,
when I noticed that there were none beside Alabama. Since I have been an avid reader and
once in a while commenter, since the Palin day, I thought it might be time to put one beside
Bama.  Smiley A lot has happened to this site since the first time I found it. If I remember correctly,
there were only about 30 to 50 hits a week then. It's awesome to see how far it has come,
and how good it feels to be a part of the climb to fame. I mean, #1 Political Blog, how great is that? I am sure I am going to make a lot of mistakes here, but, that is how we humans learn.
Thank goodness there are people to help individuals such as myself. I don't know how this is going
to post, I just hope it doesn't look as silly to you as it does to me. Here's to a long and happy
relationship. Shocked "Deuce"

I finally found my post Snoskred. I don't remember who mentioned it but I was asked when I
joined Mudflats. Here it is. I was watching TV when Palin was announced as the nominee for
VP. I immediately did a windows search and found her website. At the side was a small block
and it read. "From another Alaskans perspective". I clicked on it and I was sent to Mudflats.
The rest is history boys and girls.  LOL

OH THANK YOU (deities)

We have someone from Alabama! Smiley

We spent a good couple of days putting that intro thread together, and I kept hoping to find someone from there.. it was conspicuously absent being at the top of the list.. some of the others were better hidden!

Glad to see you here! We'll be updating that states project thread once or twice a day. Smiley

So now, we only have American Samoa, Guam, North Dakota, Northern Marianas Islands, Puerto Rico, Rhode Island, Virgin Islands and Wyoming left to find Mudpuppies in.. Smiley

Hey, Deuce, glad to have you join us. You are so right, I cannot believe  how this blog has grown either. I have learned more in this short time about politics, politicians, campaigns and elections in this short span of time from informative and knowlegable mudpuddies than I have I could have in a lifetime and I am grateful. The people here have helped me through my emotional roller coaster during the campaign and I do not think that I could have made it through election night without the support of the wonderful people on this site. I am so glad to have found you guys. Thanks for being my support.

Deuce, in the field of every post, there's  "quote" button in the upper right corner. Click on that, then write your own text above or below that "quote text", then hit "post".

As for the avatar, do you have a picture in your computer that you can upload? I think the max size is 100x100 pixels, or maybe a bit smaller.

At the time I began reading and posting on AKM's blog, I too, had no idea what was to come. I was never political, at all, but when
I heard Obama announce his candidacy (hope spelling is correct), I knew I could no longer afford not to become involved. I voted this year,
for the first time in my life. I will be 57 in March. I had no desire until now, besides, I wasn't quite old enough to vote for JFK. I have truly
enjoyed this campaign and election and will vote Obama again in 2012. Change will continue. LOL

I have the same address for the avatar I was using on the other blog. Do I need to use Gravatar to load it?

Hey Deucd2 AL!  Welcome to the Forums!

Re: Avatar...if you already have an image on Gravatar (and it should be 100x100 pixels), you can link to it on your Forum Profile page.  Go to the Profile Page, and edit.  You'll see an area where you can either select from a number of avatars provided by the Forum, or put in the web address for the avatar you wish to use.

Give it a try, and let us know if you need help!

Hm, guess not. Sorry, Deuce  Huh? Hopefully someone who's done gravatars and knows how to put them in the forum here can explain in detail how it's done.

Icy Russia, I checked the profile option and see nothing where I could put in a web addy for remote-linking. All I get is the upload-from-computer option. What am I missing?

ira2,  Thanks for your help. I found that what I am trying to load is too large.  Sad
I will use the dog for now and figure it all out later. It's now 11:40 here and I
am going to stop for now and try again tomorrow. Thanks again.
