I did indeed see that recipe (I love that sidebar which tells you when someone has posted somewhere esle). I also answered that I will make them and see how similar they are to French crêpes. Thanks!

@ A Brit Abroad:

Hehehe... I sleep through yours, you get to sleep through mine! You wouldn't really feel like going outside with a chainsaw right now to cut up some wood, would you?

@ Jamie:

I'm off to check (food is ALWAYS important!!!)

Totally OT from food, but here goes:

Just read in ADN that today is convicTED's 85th birthday.  The vote count is supposed to be completed today (not certified).

Here's hoping convicTED gets a great 85th B-day present of defeat!

I saw it... my drool bucket floweth over. It sounds absolutely delicious!!! Yellow peppers are outrageously expensive here though (I think over $2 for one) - what would you substitute for them, if anything?

I went to the link for the pancake recipe and immediately moved it onto my favorites bar. Thanks. Did you say that it was your sister's blog? I went too fast.

Gee, as a far as a substitute, I have to think and ask my man. Yellow peppers are more delicately flavored than red or (heaven forbid, I hate 'em) green peppers. I know that I have seen other italian rabbit recipes with other additions. I'll get back to ya' on that!

re convicTED's birthday - BBC have been celebrating today as Mickey Mouse's 80th 'birthday'.

Is there a connection ? Or am I maligning the mouse.

Have to disappear soon.  Supper to get ready.  On Thursday we're having our boiler replaced so tomorrow have to clear things out, re-arrange stuff and make the place not look like a tip (it's been more fun reading the posts on mudflats).

How are your gardening skills ?
If you've got a warm indoor environment you could try growing peppers from seed.
I'm having a bash at chillies at the moment - saved the seeds from some store bought scotch bonnets.  Now they're flowering I pretend to be a bee using my son's small paint brush.  I only hope it's not too late in the year for anything positive to happen.

Yes, that's one of my sister's blogs  Smiley  There's some interesting stuff in there, mostly from their (Sis and my brother-in-something's) travels.

About the yellow peppers, I agree - they're in a class of their own as far as flavor goes. I can't think of anything that would compare quite right, so... thanks for trying to find out!

Skills are ok, garden is still in the making though. I have the ground, and an old trailer destined to be a greenhouse (which can be heated with manure below and all that), but I'm lacking the gardening tools and materials to actually make it all happen in one swoop. It'll just be an ongoing effort, like everything else.
Growing anything inside, with three greens-loving cats around, has proven an exercise in futility, LOL!

Keep us updated on how your chilies make out?
