Anchorage Mudstock- sign up now!
If you live in or near Anchorage and you would like to join the Anchorage Mudstock, please reply in this thread, or PM me or mwThatOne directly.
Q: When is the Anchorage Mudstock?
A: We will plan the meeting around the time and day of the week that works best for the majority of the interested Mudpuppies. A couple of possibilities are December 3rd at 7 pm or December 13th at 2 pm. Please leave your preference for times or dates in your post or PM. Please also note whether you’d like to meet before or after the holidays.
UPDATE:
December 13th, 2 PM
Q: Where will it be held?
A: We will probably meet at the Middle Way Café near Title Wave Books or at Side Street Café, depending upon how many folks are signed up to attend. If you have a preference, please indicate it in your post/PM.
UPDATE:
The Middle Way Cafe,
near Title Wave
Q: How will we know who the other Mudpuppies are?
A: Someone will have a sign indicating that we are loyal Mudflatters!
We look forward to seeing you soon!

Dec 13th at 2pm works for me. I would drive in from Wasilla for that.

I can make either day work -- but not after the 13th, as we'll be leaving for a month on the 14th.
Either venue works, as well, but Sidestreet could definately get cozy if we have many people...

Can you PM the Alaskans to let them know? Do you want to split up the list & share it out to contact Alaskan flatters (less work for you community organizers)?

Re note from Night Kitchen Thread:
Would love to attend Anchorage Mudstock, but live in Juneau. InJuneau started a thread for holding a Mudstock in Juneau as well. It is being discussed as to when -- maybe during Democratic Central Committee meeting -- that way others from throughout Alaska can attend.
Thanks for the invite!

Sounds like fun! I do believe my wife and I can come most any time during the weekends. We're wrapping up the semester and things clear up for us around the 19th, but we can likely pull away from papers on any given weekend day. Game on!

Erin, Thanks for the invite via PM. Was able to find my way here. Still learning the Forums' ins & outs, when I have time. The 3rd is out for me, as I am in Anchorage that day, but flying home that afternoon. The 13th remains a possibility if something brings me to town anywhere near that time. Keep me posted--I'll be checking back.
Thanks again, all Muddies.
PS. I am a bid torn about face-to-face meetings. I rather like the anonymity of the blog. Living in Alaska all my life, and in a small town, it's liberating to speak ones mind without it being attributed to who said it, but what is said.

@Sandy Beach --
We always welcome an excuse to go into Anchorage to visit Title Wave or Barnes & Noble!
You could PM me and let me know if you want to meet up Sunday or Monday over a coffee!

Looks like
Saturday, December 13th
works for everyone, so let's go with that.
2 pm
. Let's go with
The Middle Way Cafe
, near Title Wave.
CRFlats: I totally get how you feel about anonymity, and I will understand if you decide not to meet up with us. Think about it, though, 'cause we'd love to have you.
Sandy and SMR: PM me- I might be able to meet up on Monday if the time is right.

So, will AKM be there?
Incognito?
Hey I'm tempted to fly there myself...
Maybe New Yorkers should have our mudstock.
hmmm...

If AKM does show up, I'm sure she won't tell us her true identity. Maybe she'll sit at a nearby table and record every word...

@CRFlats --
I promise that I won't go back through your posts to see what you've said, so if you said Sarah Palin is stinky I won't know or tell a soul! I understand what you mean about staying incognito, so support that too.
I will say that living out here in Eagle River surrounded by Fred Dyson, McCain & Palin fans (the bastardos in my neighborhood still have lots of M/P signs up) makes me more desperate than the average 'Flatter to get together with like-minded people. If you are lucky enough to have a support network of friends who share your political leanings then you would not be as desperate as I am for a Mudstock gathering.........
We could all make a pact that we will only share our Mudflats handles if it suits us?
