We would like to offer forum members an opportunity to nominate themselves to become a moderator.

Please note -

Nomination does not mean that you will be automatically accepted as a moderator. It simply means you are raising your hand and letting us know you would be willing to make a commitment to be a moderator of the forums. Your name will be placed on our list of people willing to take on the role and when we have an opening, you'll hear from us.

We need people who -

- are here regularly
- are enthusiastic
- love the forums
- are able to use skype text chat on their computer to communicate with fellow mods and admins
- are willing to learn how to moderate
- are willing to treat the forum members, mods and admins politely and with respect
- are willing to respect the confidentiality of discussions held in the mod room

What Do Moderators Do?

The main duties of a moderator include -

- moderating the forums (all instructions are provided so don't worry, we teach you how)
- being present at the forums regularly
- reading the posts in the 3 forums you are assigned to regularly
- reporting any posts you find on the forums which break the guidelines
- reading the moderator forums regularly
- participating in the moderator forums - sharing your opinion and being involved in discussions
- letting us know if you won't be around to moderate (if you're going to be away for more than a couple of days)
- voting on polls in the modroom when issues arise

It sounds like a lot of work when it is written down like that but it does not require a huge time commitment especially if you're regular with checking in and keeping up with things. We are fairly flexible with who does what when.
