Okay here are my four selections for the contest. The first two were taken during the drive from London to Calgary. The third is a day trip we took up into the Rockies which I can see from my window. The last was taken during a visit with the in laws (they met the new baby that weekend) in British Columbia. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did when I took them.

Mimi....I had a chat with the Moderators and Admins....what we came up with was putting every photo into the poll, then asking people to vote for their top 4. That's 4 votes per person.
Once the voting period is over, we'll see the 12 photos that received the most votes.
lol...about an hour ago, I went and counted up all the photos in this thread. Darned if I can remember what that number was. Sigh.
Let us know what you think!
Oh....and it was midnight, AK time tonight....and setting up the polls tomorrow morning.

As you vote, try and pick one for each season....so we don't end up with all winter photos, for example. Remember, this is for a calendar....so layout plays a part....but we'll find a way to work with all the selected photos.
Everyone can vote...even if you've submitted a photo.
Results will be shown after end date of voting (see poll for date).
Thanks, mimi, for this wonderful idea!

By the way....each person has 4 votes, but the poll is set up so that you can come back and change your vote (if you change your mind for any reason).

OK, just to complicate things further, Icy said I could add my photos in. I was confused about the deadline - I thought it was tonight.
Here are two, if time allows I may add two more:
Sunset in Curacao, Caribbean:
Number 44
View from the tops of the cliffs at Dun Aengus, Inishmore Island, Ireland:
Number 45

those are beautiful DeepBlue! Oh man is this ever going to be hard. How do you pick just 4?
There are just too many really beautiful photos to choose from.

Voting Tips
There are a lot of photos to keep straight, so I thought I'd share what helped me:
Since ideally we will pick our favorite photo from each season, for a total of four votes, I made a table with the four seasons listed.
Then I went through each page of the thread and when I saw a photo I really liked, I wrote down the number under the season I thought it best fit with.
Then I went through the pages again and eliminated some choices until I narrowed it down to four.
When you vote, you can click on the link to make sure you're voting for the right photo.
This system means you do not have to load every photo again in order to go through the selection process.
Does anyone else have ideas for simplying this?

wow, that was not easy. So many beautiful photos to choose from. I ended up asking each of the kids to write down which photos they liked best, then added up which ones got the most votes.
We voted for the ones that all of us picked.

Gee, I think we should have been able to vote for at least a dozen! This will no doubt be an absolute treasure. Something for everyone: kids, happy people, people working, animals, beautiful architecture, gorgeous water and flowers and foliage... oh my.
