Hi Jamie !  Sounds like you've got your work cut out today.
I've just been looking at Ira2's pictures.  We used to visit Arizona quite a bit - my husband likes deserts !  We found an AAA driving guidet to Arizona in a motel in Flagstaff and tried to follow quite a few of the routes on our numerous visits.  We saw the Blythe Intaglios, the wooden railway and lots more.  Them were the days.....

Your mention of "cleaning for an apartment visit" reminds me of when we rented in London.  The landllady came round every month to collect the rent - that always prompted a real clean-up/tidy-up of the flat.  The flat was more 'homely' during the interim.

When I was in college, there was a convenience store chain called "Store 24" (because they were always open) and we had a Store 24 on the edge of campus -- except it was inexplicably only open 18 hours a day (and therefore referred to by all & sundry as Store 18).

@sirenoftitan -

like us - once a year we have people over for dinner, or once every several years people from the US come to visit and I clean like mad - add to that list an occasional visit (real estates agents - we are trying to sell) - and I go through a cleaning frenzy and hubby whistfully sighs, "I wish we had visitors more often".

Isn't that why people throw parties?  To force them to clean up their homes? Wink

That's like the old joke about the 24 hour Dry Cleaners - it was just called that.

Christmas is my time for major clean-up - mother & aunt come to stay.  For a few years, when they both had cataracts, I could get away with the occasional cobweb but now they've both had their eyesight fixed.  Sigh.
