It's a beautiful day here in the land of Oz...25 degrees but supposed to get up to 55 later today.  Saw twenty or so wild turkey on the way to work this morning (not unusual these days...they've been very successfully re-introduced).  Anyone know what you call a group of turkeys?  I have no idea...flock, gaggle, herd...?  (And no...it's not Republicans!)

A raffle of turkeys....or rafter (??)

Hi All, good morning Smiley
I was reading the list that freakout did, and you know AKM post, and I can not figure out what the majority of Alaskans like about her...it must be the check, the "permanent fund check" or energy check whatever its called. But since gas/oil going down....what then? I went to the Alaska website and I can't really see what she does? Gov. Palin mourns for 2 soldiers, Gov. Palin congratulates Mark Beigeith (sp) you would think with her gone for 2 mos there would be boatloads of stuff to do, wouldn't you???
Oh there is a warning to report the permanent fund check as "taxable income"  I wonder if Barbie takes her own advice here.... Group Hug anyway good morning to all!

Wiki says it's a "rafter" but that "gang" is also acceptable.  I like "gang"...makes them sound dangerous.

LOL! Can't see carrying around a pocketful of worms and such Cheesy but might try corn!  They are just so sweet, some of them will come right up to you, but that makes me afraid for them as some people or kids might try to harm them, so I discourage them from doing that.  But they are just sweet.

I think it's jealousy - after all AKM was voted best political blogger of 2008 and Wonkette was not.

I was planning to have a quick look--otherwise known in some English speaking parts of the world as a "gander", befitting the bird theme we've got going.  However, I've been drawn out of my hide to strenuously object to anyone suggesting for a moment that our love for AKM is anything less than enduring.  To think otherwise is just fowl.  Grin

And not to crow about Mudflats - here is one of the comments from Wonkette!  Grin

Quote
The inevitable fame and fortune she will ultimately provide the entertaining Mudflats blog must be one of the reasons the universe tolerates this woman’s presence. That, and her witch-doctor community service work.

Sarah Palin coming to Atlanta on Monday
Will campaign with Chambliss across Georgia

Does this woman do a lick of work???? Will she be charging Alaska "per diems" as she sips cool beverages by the pool????
If I was a Alaskan, I would be pissed!!!!! Bang Head
They should just impeach/recall her now, and get someone who will actually govern!!!!

hello gang!

I'll be all around the forum for a while back and forth doin' a little readin'. Wanted to pop in and say hi!

Here's the thing that I understood from Wonkette - she said absolutely nothing. Curious. I mean, why blog in to say "people are talking about this thing. Person A says this, person B says that. I say, so what?"

Seems that Wonkette just didn't want to be left out of the conversation, so she stuck her nose in and said "Hey all! I'm here! Don't forget me! I too can say good stuff!" and then returned to the buffet.

Oh, come on Caligirl - give poor Sarah a break! She probably balanced the new budget and did all kinds of cool and important executive stuff in between her being' so in demand to speak at Repug dos.... And she's probably gettin' it all paid by the RNC - I mean it must've been them who asked her to run down and bring a little celebrity power to Chambliss.

What I don't get is why are they asking someone who, by all the news reports, both mainstream and Repug, the public is tired of seein'?

She hasn't quite finished the job of killing the Republican Party.  If she helps Chambliss lose, the job will be done.
