Night Kitchen 11-30

The Night Kitchen is open! Has everyone gotten over their turkey hangovers? Tomorrow is the last day of this wonderful long holiday weekend. It's been pretty slow on news too... Makes me wonder what's coming on Monday.
If you didn't see the blog post, I finally got Flickr up and running on the blog! I was glad to have that done. I'll now be able to share photos much more easily than trying to put an album in a post. I've been meaning to do this since....er....late September. But for some strange reason I neer seemed to get around to it!

"Some strange reason?" You couldn't have been busy, now could you? I'm always amazed at all you do and the wonderful features you have developed in such a short time. My hat's off to you. And yes, I was thankful, the left overs are gone, and I didn't even make any turkey noodle soup. After the Palin Turkey video I just could do to much turkey.
I've started my major Christmas picture project, so haven't had as much time here on Mudflats lately, do have to check in at least once a day to get my flat fix, it's been a daily thing for so long, I just can't break the habit. I'm going to go read some more posts, and will check back again soon.

It's a slow night on the Mudflats. I fear that many of our mudpuppies are suffering from turkey hangovers! (Also known as stuffed turkey syndrome.)

Now, I've gone and done it...
I was messing around with my profile settings, and I lost my boots! So, I am now the "playing dead" dog until I can figure out what I did, and undo it!

I was just bouncing around the forums and trying to figure out how you become a "Community Organizer?" Not that I have that much time to develop new threads, I'm just curious. I do have more time than money this season and have decided to give "service" where I can until my cash flow improves. I'm making gift certificates for reflexology treatments for most of my friends and relatives. Going to make lap robes for some of the gals in rehab, and will do my usual adopt a family project for the YWCA, via our church. But I'm happy to report I didn't spend a dime on Black Friday or this supposedly major holiday shopping week-end.

GJ,
It has to do with the number of posts you've made. I recently became a community organizer myself! Others here are all the way up to Governor. Someone else may be able to tell you the exact number you'll need.

I think it's 30 for a Community Organiser and 100 for a Town Mayor. There is an explanation somewhere.....

GJ - 25 for Community Organizer, I think.
AKM - beautiful photos (of a beautiful place, obviously). You are indeed a person of many talents. I'll look at more any time you want to post them.

Here's the link to the "Member Groups" topic....it has a chart that tells you how many posts you need to reach the next member group. Membership does come with privileges! There's a private area on the Forum that magically appears once you reach 100 (Town Mayor).....and each group level gives you a larger number of PM's you can save.

Hello all! A grey, cold day in Nantes, but the cold in AKM's photos is gorgeous wrapped up in snow. Beautiful and perfect for us to dream on!

Hi Aero,
It just cleared up here, so you may have better on the way by the end of the day!

It's just sloppy wet here in PA. The little bit of snow didn't survive, so lovely to see your beautiful photos of the real thing, AKM.

Problem Child -
Unfortunately, you probably get more of ours than we get of yours. No deeper political meaning intended. You know, I'm embarrassed to admit how little time I've spent in the Maritimes of Canada. Heck, I can hop on the High Speed ferry from Portland and get straight to Halifax without even driving. Not that I'd want to miss it all, always, too. Either.
I'm a wooden flute nut, and one of these years I'm going to get to the Boxwood festival in Lunenburg NS. Maybe we need a Mudstock (way) Northeast next summer??

Yes, the bad weather certainly seems to move northwards. But our good (winter anyhow) weather often comes sort of down from the northwest. Hope you get it anyway!
I would love a northeast mudstock & had forgottena all about that high speed ferry thing. I can be in Halifax in 5 hours +/-. Bangor in 3 +/-

Hey mudpuppies, Christmas is just around the couner. For those of you that may be a little
redneck at heart. Myself and Jeff Foxworthy have a treat for you, just to get you in the spirit.
Twelve days of Christmas
has always been a holiday treat. This is the redneck version.

Thanks for reminding me of this, Deuce.
The 12 days of Christmas from Ireland. The video isn't great, but I've always loved the lyrics?

Well I have made it back to reality, think I would much rather have stayed up north and let my mother spoil me for awhile longer but I guess it's back to grown up land and worrying about things a thousandth of the thickness of a human hair.
Thanksgiving was really nice, I have a really big family besides three brothers, I also have something like 100 cousins, then there are those who might as well be related because we seem to have adopted them so they get the full treatment. We used to have this joke (don't tell my elders) about our family was like the mob, they only let you leave feet first. Such it is with my childrens favorite Uncle. When I was a kid he was married to my aunt, they got divorced, both got remarried, my aunt spends thanksgiving with her 2nd husbands family. Dick, and his second wife and her kids come to my moms, this has been going on for something like 20 years. Got to hand it to his second wife she fit right in to la contra nostra without batting an eye. I give her a great deal of credit for that.
My daughter brought her boyfriend this year. This means things have become serious and she is considering him to be a keeper. It is tradition for us to use our family as the final acid test prior to considering getting married. If they don't run screaming up the driveway (and a few have) they pass. Boyfriend looked like a deer in headlights for awhile, that's the common reaction. He warmed up once my brothers drank enough of the family blackberry wine to start giggling and reliving every stupid thing we ever did as kids. I am fairly sure he left believing we were a happy if not very bright lot.
I hope you all had a nice weekend as I did.
