Hmmmmm..... We haven't chatted about Babygate in a loooong time. September seems like a lifetime ago! But Babygate has been a passionate obsession for some, and little bits of news keep circulating around just below the surface. I can't
tell
you what a topic of "behind the hand" conversation this is in Alaska. Well, tongues will be wagging for sure over this latest photo posted a Palin's Deceptions.
If you haven't seen it, you can find it
HERE
along with a detailed explanation.
Well.....what do you think?

Before ya'all get into this topic, can I please remind you of the following..
Any speculation regarding the actual parents of Trig could get both AKMuckraker and the forums into legal hot water.
While it is fine to discuss whether or not Palin was pregnant and whether or not she gave birth, can we please request that you refrain from naming specific people who might actually be the parents of Trig.
We will delete on sight posts that say "I think XX is the father" or "XX is the mother". This is not only to protect us but also to protect you, because the person you name could actually choose to sue you for defamation.
If you need more information on this, you can
read this thread
, or
PM the Admins
.
Please understand, we are not trying to stifle discussion, but if you were some bloke up in Alaska, say your name was MoustacheHeadacheCatTree FoghatTurkeyWolfpawLamp and you googled your name only to find a post on mudflats as the number one result and a post that said "MoustacheHeadacheCatTree FoghatTurkeyWolfpawLamp is the father of Trig Palin" - and you were not the father of Trig, your first stop would be a lawyer to find out how to remove that from the internet search results (and also how you might be able to get some cash for your troubles as well).
So it is fine to say "I don't think Sarah is the mother" or "I don't think Todd is the father" but please do not speculate on who could be the parents. I hope that makes sense.
MoustacheHeadacheCatTree FoghatTurkeyWolfpawLamp = Snoskred's version of an unlikely actual name. If anyone does happen to have that name let me know, and I will change it as soon as possible.

I gave up on this idea of Palin not being pregnant a long time ago after I carefully watched the video available on the above link. You can at times see her quite pregnant belly. As much as I wanted to believe the baby was not hers, I decided after watching the video that it was time to stop obsessing over it and just accept the fact that it was.
The only proof that is going to be conclusive is some kind of actual proof. Not just a photo, which could have been taken anytime.

Hey all!
Welcome back to the hearth, Brit Abroad
Hope you got all your work done.
Personally, I just hope that the truth, any truth comes out in the end -- I think that politicians who want to represent us should be held accountable for actions and statements, whatever these may be, if those actions were used for political advantage or brought to the forefront by the politician. You know who was a different story as his actions were in private and never brought forth by him as well as whatever his relationship is or was between him and his wife remained between them until dragged out in the open by critics. But when the politician calls attention to his or her own actions and acts in such a way that attention is sought after, then that is another story (goes for actors and rock stars, too in my opinion).
I think that actions taken on a political level, for example by Bush et al should be put under the microscope and these people should be held accountable for their decisions and actions. That is obvious.
What galls me about the latest scandal mentioned here, is the obvious political statement her actions made. This is why it is being questioned and answers should be given/found. And the fact that it led us, the people that she wanted to represent and make decisions for, to see so many cracks (gaping holes) in her persona......

I agree with you. I looked at the blogs referred to and didn't think the 'proof' was substantiated.
Wonder how MoustacheHeadacheCatTree FoghatTurkeyWolfpawLamp is feeling about this ?

I watched the video and I think the only purpose of it was to show the date and the fact that she was wearing the same clothes and jewellery! Interesting that it is gone!
I'm not so sure that the photo
is
the nail in the coffin. I do believe that her bump looks
very odd
and she does appear to be wearing some sort of strap under her top. My big problem with this whole thing is the fact that she announced her own daughter's pregnancy (which she didn't have to), rather than produce a birth certificate. Bottom line - I'm not convinced that SP was pregnant.

Hi everybody...(*waves...Hi Jamie*)
I have been away...and then got too busy. I managed to keep up but not comment.
There is no way SP is the mother of Trig apart from the photo evidence. It is just a feeling that mothers 'know'.... it is an interaction between mother and child etc that is totally absent.
A couple of months ago some one asked ....why ? Why would she fake it, what's the big deal.
It is fraud, medical fraud.
Her Gov medicare provides for her, her family etc ( & kids) but does not cater for her kid's kids. A special needs child would require extra med care. As her child Trig would qualify, as anyone else in the family's child it would not.
Her reasons may be 'honourable' (sort of) but fraud is fraud !

Nothing to do with babies....
Today was men in tights at Westminster with the usual pomp & circumstance surrounding the State Opening of Parliament and the Queen's Speech in the House of Lords. The speech, not written by Her Maj, outlines the key areas of the Government in the year ahead and includes Welfare Reform, Banking, Equality and Policing - 12 areas in all.
In just a few minutes, the Speaker of the House of Commons will be making a statement on his role the recent kerfuffle surrounding moles, leaks, police and Tory MPs. Will probably erupt into the usual bunch of schoolboy noises after the speech.

Is the Speaker actually addressing the House? That would be kind of strange here (Canada). Normally, the Speaker just keeps order and rules on procedural questions. At least the latest kerfuffle didn't actually include schoolboys.

I just read that the Speaker did not authorize the search of Damien Green's offices in Parliament. I did not realize that they didn't have a warrant. I do believe this is going to get uglier and uglier. I am usually left but the Labor Party in Britain drank the koolaid with Tony Blair and George Bush and just keep getting worse. Time for a cleansing.

:soapbox:I can only speak from experience. In my home town back in the 50s, 60s, and 70s it was not unusual for a child to be adopted by another family and said family putting out publicly that they gave birth to said child. Most of us knew the truth but NOBODY talked about it, you just didn't do that.
Since Sarahs neighborhood seems to be similar to where I grew up during the years I was growing up I can see something like this happening.
It goes like this, the natural mother is either alone or has reduced circumstances and cannot care for the child. In Trigs case the mother if there was another could have known Trig would need special care and have alot of medical needs, that for what ever reason she knew she could not take care of. She decided Sarah and first dude would be the able to give Trid a good home. To pull this off there is usually a sympathec doctor who is willing to cover up the truth. Which is why she would have had to fly back to Alaska suddenly when labor set in.
Now I am going to take you all to task for this. It just doesn't matter who actually gave birth to Trig. As much as I dislike Sarah, if this is a "cover up" there may be a very good reason for it. An abusive boyfriend or family comes to mind but there could be any number of others.
The fact is this speculation will follow this child for all of his childhood and beyond. I had a friend who had this happen to her, it made her childhood miserable.
This speculation won't hurt Sarah she is incapable of being embarassed by anything she does and I am not so sure that if the truth came out it would not appear she and her hausband did a noble thing. This speculation will only hurt Trig, it is after all his life we are gossiping about. In doing so we are treating him as if he is a sack of wood chips that does not and never will have feelings. To him, for better or worse, this is his family, this is who he feels safe with, and who he is bonded to.
While I am all for seeing Sarah out of polotics. I AM NOT willing to see this child, who has enough problems in his life as it is, have his life destroyed to that end.
Let me ask you all what you think should happen if the truth is other than what Sarah is telling us? What do you want to happen if what we believe is the truth comes out? Who will really pay the price for it? It won't be Sarah.
In my mind pursuing this makes us just as small minded and cruel as she can be. All we seem to care about is finding a way to get at her without any thought to who may actually suffer the consequences.
I will now drag my soap box back to the closet.

Nothing good ever comes of fraud and lies. The way Trig is treated his mother should be turned over to family services. If this was a "kind" gesture it was lost in the making. Sort of the road to hell is paved with good intentions. Trig needs specific and constant care. That care certainly wasn't given when she was on the road. Her care of the 8 year old is bad as well. The child herself said she "missed" school and has to make it up. So home schooling is not in the offing. Tell me what would be happening here were this woman not the governor.
I don't care who the "mother" is those kids need a real one.

If SP is not Trigs mom, there is always adoption. There is nothing wrong with that. I think all of the family would benefit from the truth and then get on with Trigs life and everything that he needs to be healthy and happy.

I want to know what is wrong with a woman who cannot leave home without yanking her kids out of school to use as a shield. Or protection? Or what? Someone isn't healthy here.
